Bridget: Why did you just do that?

Dante: Do what?

Bridget: Are you trying to make some sort of a point or something?

Dante: Is that the kind of man you've been dating? I mean, the man that has something to prove all the time?

Bridget: Okay, look, don't change the subject.

Dante: Because I kissed you once before and I nearly forgot it. Or was it twice? Well, goodbyes don't really count. But then again, it wasn't really a goodbye, was it? Just wanted to see if you kissed like a married woman.

Bridget: Why? I'm not.

Dante: Definitely not.

Bridget: Look, but, you know, I will be the next time that you see me. If there even is a next time. Weren't you, like -- weren't you supposed to leave or something?

Dante: How can I leave now?

Bridget: What, do you need directions?

Dante: Now that I see how badly you could get burned.

Bridget: Okay, wait, I'm just -- I'm gonna make something very, very clear here. My engagement with Nick is not up for a vote. I don't care what you think, or what you think of him.

Dante: Okay, okay.

Bridget: What are you doing?

Dante: The shoulders always get burned the worse.

Brooke: You made a terrible mistake?

Ridge: And I don't know why it took me so long to see it.

Brooke: Which one?

Ridge: Look, I don't blame you. You have every right for feeling this way.

Brooke: Look, I just put R.J. down for a nap and today's been very difficult.

Ridge: You wouldn't talk to me that night. Will you listen to me now?

Taylor: Stephanie? Occupational therapy.

[ Stephanie laughs ]

Darla: Whoa!

Taylor: Oh, there you are.

Stephanie: What a surprise.

Darla: Hey, look at all the great stuff we got from the occupational therapist.

Stephanie: Yes, I wanted to take all these toys home, because I'm never gonna use them.

Darla: You say that now. Arr.

Taylor: You are looking much better.

Stephanie: Thanks to my doctors and my family.

[ Darla laughs ]

Darla: Oh, is that Stephanie's chart?

Taylor: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, it is.

Darla: You're an M.D., Aren't you? You know how to read those things, huh? So tell me, is she really doing as well as she thinks she is?

Stephanie: Read it.

Darla: Yes.

Stephanie: Darla, go watch for the nurse at the door.

Darla: Okay.

Stephanie: Please, tell us what my condition is.

Ridge: You were right. About everything. It never should've happened this way.

Brooke: What shouldn't've happened.

Ridge: You, here. People throwing around words like "visitation" and our marriage being invalid. I didn't want that, Brooke. I never wanted that. When the hell was there time to think or plan anything with my mother all of sudden having a heart attack, which I feel responsible for.

Brooke: What? No.

Ridge: I came back to the beach house and you were gone. There was my mother, spouting her same old stuff all over again. I just lost it. I let her have it. I'm not gonna stand there and let her say all those things about you anymore.

Brooke: So that's how this happened?

Ridge: She started stumbling around. Couldn't catch her breath. Next thing I know, she's in the hospital, fighting for her life. How do you think that made me feel?

Brooke: You were afraid.

Ridge: I couldn't live with myself if she died.

Brooke: You would do anything to save her.

Ridge: Yes.

Brooke: Including marrying Taylor.

Bridget: The sun feels so good.

Dante: My hands feel good.

Bridget: You know what, you've really gotta do something about this self-esteem problem. These insecurities you have about women are really awful.

Dante: Tragic, isn't it? You know a good psychiatrist?

Bridget: Yeah. And so do you.

Dante: Maybe it's not a good idea.

Bridget: You didn't, did you?

Dante: Get your mind out of the gutter.

Bridget: I can do that one myself, thank you very much.

Dante: Speaking of self-esteem problems, how are you and your mother getting along?

Bridget: You don't even know my mother, why would think that she -- we've never been closer. Why?

Dante: She approves of this penchant of yours? Of falling for men that fell for her first?

Bridget: It's not a penchant! It's just -- things just happened. You know, you don't know a thing about it.

Dante: I'm just saying, you could try something different.

Bridget: Yeah, like what?

Dante: Like me. She hasn't swept me off my feet.

Bridget: I thought you were serious --

Dante: I'm never not serious.

Bridget: Mm-hmm.

Dante: Your turn.

Bridget: You know, I mean, you've really got this all wrong. Nick is a rock. For me and for my mother. He's --

Dante: Yeah. She just needs his strength right now, right?

Bridget: Yeah. I mean, she just lost her home and her husband. Everything. And here someone's telling her that she and her kids are the most important thing in his life? What could be sweeter?

Dante: You wanna marry a man whose purpose in life is to make your mother happy?

Bridget: Maybe I do wish that -- I don't know what I wish. Can we just not do this right now?

Dante: I'm sorry, it's just the ego. You know, I keep offering myself, but there's always an older millionaire in my way.

Bridget: Yeah, well there's plenty more where that came from, so just shut and lie down, why don't you?

Dante: What I do best.

Taylor: There seems to be a few things missing.

Darla: Oh, yeah? Like what?

Taylor: Well, I expect to see some lab reports, for one thing.

Darla: Maybe Dr. Mark has them.

Taylor: Wow. You're a very lucky woman.

Stephanie: I didn't need a chart to tell me that.

Darla: Yeah, well, I did. 'Cause all we've been hearing since we wheeled you in here is "I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine." Thank you, doctor.

Stephanie: It's wonderful to have a doctor in the family again, isn't it?

Darla: Yes, it is. Yes, it is. Oh, hey. I'm gonna grab this stuff, drop it off at your house on my way home.

Stephanie: No, no.

Darla: Just in case. You never know, all right? And I am glad you're feeling better. I love you.

Stephanie: Thank you, Darla. Kiss the baby.

Darla: I will, honey. Thanks. Bye, Taylor.

Taylor: Thank you for taking care of her.

Darla: Of course.

Taylor: Stephanie, I had no intention --

Stephanie: Taylor, I have no secrets from you. I obviously wasn't persuasive enough, though, on the phone.

Taylor: Do you understand why I needed to know?

Stephanie: Nick. He's come up with this whole scenario that I have taken the hospital and the entire staff of this hospital, and turned them into some sort of acting company to enable me to fake a heart attack. Would you like to know where he got the conspiracy theory from? Brooke. What I didn't tell you on the phone is that she came in the other night and she disconnected my ventilator. She cut off the oxygen.

Taylor: She what?

Stephanie: She cut off the oxygen. She damn near killed me.

Taylor: I really can't believe that one. She had to be completely desperate.

Stephanie: Yes, I think that's safe to say.

Taylor: I just hope you can appreciate how it would make me feel to think that Ridge had made this commitment to me for all the wrong reasons.

Ridge: I went about this all wrong. One day with you, one day with Taylor. As if I could compare you two like a couple of appliances. My feelings were the only thing that mattered. Well, I know what I was feeling, Brooke. I've always felt the same way. I love you as much as I always have. I cherish what we have. Our family, our kids, the life we've built, as much as I always have. Maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe saying this now doesn't really matter.

Brooke: No, Ridge. Of course it matters. Do you think I wanted to walk out on you and take your children away from you?

Ridge: It just about killed me, seeing you walk out that door. We fought a lifetime to get to this point right now, Brooke. We can't let it end this way.

Brooke: Mistakes I understand. I've made my share. And now you have to fix this one.

Ridge: Can I?

Brooke: Why not? Just tell Taylor what you just told me.

Dante: I could get used to this. Other side, please.

Bridget: Oh, come on. You can reach that.

Dante: Hey, you owe me one, remember Positano?

Bridget: That is so your fault.

Dante: How do you figure that?

Bridget: You dared me to take my top off.

Dante: Yeah, did a lot of good for me. You just layed there, sunny side down, for what, six hours?

Bridget: Well, I had your wandering hands to think about.

Dante: All I did was put sunscreen on your back. Would you do the same for me? No. I couldn't put a shirt on for what, three days?

Bridget: Okay, okay. Give it to me.

Dante: You know what, I'm gonna stick around for a while.

Bridget: You're what?

Dante: Yeah, I'm gonna stick around.

Bridget: You just said that you weren't sticking around.

Dante: A man can change his mind, right?

Bridget: Well, do you even have a place?

Dante: No, but Massimo said I can stay with him until I do. A little bit more over here, por favore? It's a sensitive spot.

Brooke: Ridge, what's done can still be undone.

Ridge: How, Brooke? By moving Taylor and Thomas and the girls out and you back in?

Brooke: Well, that would be up to you.

Ridge: No, don't you see? Nothing's been up to me. Losing Taylor was devastating. Somehow I was able to move on. Rebuild a life with you. That's who I am. Who I was. Now, what the hell am I? It's like life has given me back what I lost, you know? The past is no longer the past. And now, I'm supposed to make a decision. One that's fair to everyone.

Brooke: I know. Nothing about this has been fair. But the question is, now, what are you going to do about it?

Stephanie: Has my son been anything less than a loving husband?

Taylor: Of course not.

Stephanie: Do have any reason to think that he regrets his decision?

Taylor: No, but if he were to ever question why he made it, that I was like some kind of a trap set for him by you --

Mark: So, when would you like to leave? Today, tomorrow, what would work best for you?

Stephanie: Well, you're the doctor.

Mark: What's this doing here? Dr. Forrester?

Taylor: That would be me. I'm sorry I broke the rules. I was just looking at her chart and I couldn't find her ekg report.

Mark: Oh, well, they're in my office. I'm a little backed up on the charts, but mito-cardial damage looks minimal, and we took her to the cath-lab immediately, and the angiogram looks great. We didn't have to open any vessels.

Taylor: Oh, I saw you did an ecocardiogram this morning?

Mark: We've got her on betablockers and A.C.E. Inhibitors, and she ought to do well.

Taylor: Well, thank you. Thank you very much.

Mark: You bet. I'm just gonna go prepare your release papers.

Stephanie: Thanks, doctor. There's a great deal at stake here. I know that better than anyone. Now, you've got trouble coming, but it isn't me.

Stephanie: Ridge was here. He wasn't happy.

Taylor: What did he say?

Stephanie: Well, he sort of ranted and raved and said I was too intrusive in the situation. But that's not the point. Look, in this situation, someone was going to be hurt. You knew that, I knew it, and he did, too. He just couldn't face it.

Taylor: I'm sure that's true. He must have come over here right after she left. Brooke took R.J. and Hope and moved out first thing this morning.

Stephanie: That's what did it.

Taylor: I tried to tell her that I thought it was too soon, that she needed to give the children a little more time to have a transition, but --

Stephanie: Taylor? I'll bet you anything he's with her right now.

Taylor: If he is, he is. They haven't really had any time to sit down and discuss this since he made his decision.

Stephanie: He made the decision that he wanted to make. There's no doubt about that in my mind. Absolutely no doubt. Look, if he's with her, you've got to be there in plain sight. I mean, especially if this decision is now under review.

Taylor: Oh, I don't believe that. I would know if Ridge was not certain about this.

Stephanie: How many times have I told you, do not underestimate the power that this woman has over him.

Brooke: Why did you come here, Ridge? Answer me.

Ridge: I loved our life together, Brooke. I never wanted it to end.

Brooke: Well, it doesn't have to end. Look, am I missing something here? You tell me that you love me. You also tell me that you realize your mother was pulling your strings, that's why you committed to Taylor.

Ridge: This wasn't fair to her, either. Hospital chaplain, the deathbed marriage.

Brooke: That's not irreversible. Look at what happened to our marriage. It vanished into thin air. Legally. This one can, too.

Ridge: I don't give a damn about legalities.

Brooke: Are you or aren't you saying you want me back.

Ridge: I've said it every way I know how.

Brooke: Well, then it doesn't seem that complicated. Just tell Taylor you made a mistake. What? Do you need me to tell you that even after everything that happened I wouldn't hesitate to pack up the kids and come back to you? Because I would, Ridge. I will. If that's what you need to hear.

Ridge: Why couldn't I be more like you?

Brooke: What does that mean?

Ridge: It means you get knocked down and you get right back up. You don't even look left or right. You just keep on going.

Brooke: Is that your way of telling me I'll be fine, no matter what? The children won't be fine.

Ridge: Believe me, I know that.

Brooke: Ridge, what are you trying to say here? I can't stand it anymore. I know you came here to tell me something. Now, what is it? This may be crass and ugly to you, but I need you to be blunt with me. Are you going to be with Taylor or with me?
