Eric: Stephanie?! Stephanie! I'll get Dr. Macclaine.

Ridge: Mother. Dad's gone to get the doctor. Can you hear me? Mother? Mother?

Stephanie: I don't think I can hold on anymore.

Ridge: Oh, come on. Come on. You got to fight, here. You got to fight.

Stephanie: I'm tired, Ridge. I'm so tired.

Ridge: Mother, mother, stay with us here. I'm not gonna let you give up. I am not gonna let you give up. This family is not gonna let you

Stephanie: It's not my family anymore.

Ridge: Mother, shh, shh. Just -- just save your strength. Just save your strength. Come on. Come on, stay with me.

Stephanie: Forgive me, Ridge.

Ridge: Forgive you? Forgive you for what?

Stephanie: Forgive me, please. Forgive me.

Thorne: Dad, Dad, what is it? What's wrong?

Eric: It's your mother. Dr. Macclaine just went in.

Darla: But -- but how?

Mark: Give me some room. Give me some room. Give me some room. All right, give me one amp of Vatripene.

Nurse: Right away, doctor.

Mark: Her blood pressure's dropping.

Brooke: Where are you, Ridge? We should've heard from you by now. No matter how much Stephanie's gonna try to sway you, I have to believe that you're going to make your own decision.

[ Phone rings ]

Taylor: Ridge?

Ridge: Taylor, thank god you're there.

Taylor: Sweetheart, where've you been? We've been waiting for you. Where are you?

Ridge: We're at university hospital. Mother's had some kind of a heart attack.

Taylor: What? A heart attack? Stephanie?

Ridge: Can you get over here right away?

Taylor: Yes, of course. I'll be right there.

Brooke: Your mother had a heart attack? Are you sure?

Ridge: Yes. Yes, yes, I'm sure. She's in bad shape.

Brooke: Okay, we'll be right there.

Ridge: No, Brooke. Listen. Just Taylor.

Brooke: What?

Ridge: Mother and I were having an argument about you when she collapsed. It's not a good time for you to be here. How's she doing?

Mark: Well, we've stabilized her for now, but her condition's still very serious. So we put her on a ventilator to assist her in her breathing.

Ridge: Mother. Mother, you got to keep fighting. Taylor's on her way, mother. She's on her way here. mother, you got to keep fighting. Taylor's on her way, mother. She's on her way here.

Massimo: Dante, old boy. It's me, Massimo Marone. Don't you remember?

[ Massimo chuckles ]

Dante: Yeah, yeah, of course. How you doing? What's going on?

[ Speaking Italian ]

Massimo: So old friend. What brings you to Los Angeles?

Brooke: Oh, Bridget, thank god you're home.

Bridget: Mom, are you okay? What's wrong?

Brooke: It's Stephanie. She's in the hospital. She's had some sort of heart attack.

Bridget: What? Oh, is it serious? Is Ridge with her? We should go. She's at University, right?

Brooke: Wait, wait, Bridget. I'm not allowed to go there.

Bridget: What?

Brooke: Ridge specifically asked me not to come. Which couldn't please Stephanie more, I'm sure.

Dante: Well, I came on business, but you know, running into you like this is definitely an unexpected pleasure.

Massimo: You were gonna look me up, no?

Dante: I've been so busy and crazy.

Massimo: Yes, yes, I know, I know, I'm sure. But listen, now, the important thing is that you have to stay here long enough so I can introduce you to my two sons. I'm sure your family told you all about that.

Dante: You have a family of your own?

Massimo: Uh-huh.

Dante: I'm very happy for you, Massimo. I didn't know that.

Massimo: I give thanks every day for this. Still, it's not quite as miraculous as my son Ridge's wife returning from the dead. I'm assuming you've heard about this. I mean, it's been in all the newspapers, everything.

Dante: You know, I gotta tell you the truth, I've been so busy, I haven't paid much attention to the local news.

Massimo: Yes, yes, yes. I understand. But then maybe, just maybe, you can explain to me why you are drawing a picture of Taylor?

Bridget: I don't understand. Why would Ridge ask you not to go to the hospital?

Brooke: His mother and I argued at the beach house.

Bridget: Wait, I thought you weren't supposed to go to the beach house until tomorrow. And what was Stephanie doing there?

Brooke: What Stephanie's always doing -- trying to ruin any chance I might have with her son.

Bridget: Okay, okay, okay. Mom, obviously you're upset. But whatever's going on with you and Stephanie, it doesn't -- mom, she's in the hospital! She needs our help!

Brooke: Oh, I'm not so sure about that.

Bridget: What do you mean?

Brooke: I wouldn't put anything past that woman, if it served her purposes.

Bridget: Mom, you think she's faking her heart attack?

Brooke: She's done a lot worse.

Thorne: You gotta hang on, mother.

Ridge: Where the hell is mark? He should have those test results by now.

Eric: Yeah, I know. Oh, here he is, here he is.

Ridge: Mark, please tell me you've got some good news.

Mark: Yeah.

Ridge: Oh, sweetie, hey.

Taylor: I got here as fast as I could. How's Stephanie?

Mark: Well, we did a cardiac enzyme test. She had a mild cardio infraction. It was definitely a heart attack.

Taylor: Stephanie? How long has she been asleep?

Thorne: A little while.

Taylor: Well, that's okay. She probably needs a lot of rest right now.

Stephanie: No. Best thing for me is you.

Taylor: How are you feeling?

Stephanie: I don't think I'm gonna make it.

Taylor: Yes. Yes, you are. Because you're a fighter, and you have so much to fight for. You have a family that loves you, and we can't imagine our lives without you. And you have a dear, dear friend that didn't just fight death to come back and lose someone I love so much. Please, please don't give up. Please, don't give up. An invention that will revolutionize...

Dante: I'm an artist, Massimo. What artist isn't drawn to subjects as exquisite as this woman clearly is?

Massimo: "This woman," as you call her, is married to my son. A woman --

Dante: -- Who has been plastered on the front page of newspapers for the past day or so. I mean, that's why it must've stuck in my mind.

Massimo: Ah. But you just told that you didn't have time here to even watch the news, so -- anyway, anyway, look. That doesn't matter. The important thing is, that is an incredible picture you've done for her. I mean, it's almost perfect. Ah, well. So my old friend, huh? We have a lot to catch up on, all right? So I want you to come to my house, let's say, here. Let's say later this evening.

Dante: You know, I --

Massimo: Ah.

Dante: Sure, sure. I'll be there.

Massimo: Okay?

Dante: Mm-hmm.

Massimo: Wonderful. Dante, listen, I mean, I mean to impose, but if -- I would love to give this to my son. Would you mind?

Dante: No, no, no, I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't mind, no.

Massimo: Good. Thank you, thank you very much. You know, he's -- ridge is gonna love this. He's just gonna love it, because I mean, you've gotten her to perfection. I mean, that's beautiful. Anyway, thank you. Until later, huh?

Dante: Yeah. Thank you.

Massimo: Ciao, ciao.

Mark: All right, Taylor, I'm gonna lower her lung volume.

Stephanie: I love you. I love you all so much.

Thorne: We love you, too, Mom.

Ridge: So much.

Stephanie: Boys, I know I haven't been the best mother, and I know I interfered a lot. But I just -- I just wanted you to be happy.

Thorne: We know, Mom.

Ridge: We always will.

Stephanie: Please remember that when I'm gone.

Eric: Stephanie, don't. Don't talk like that.

Stephanie: Eric, it's all right, honestly. I'm at peace, and I'm happy. I have my family together, if just for this one time tonight. And I have -- I have Ridge and Taylor together. Take care of the children. Take care of each other. No matter what happens, I will always remember this moment. I'll love you for all eternity.

Eric: Father, hello.

Chaplain: I heard Mrs. Forrester was very ill, and I came to pray. But I see that she's with family, so I'll come back.

Eric: No, actually, father, I would appreciate it very much if you would stay. Stephanie. Stephanie? The hospital chaplain's gonna say a prayer with us.

Chaplain: Let us pray. Dear lord, in this time of need, this family has come together in loving concern for their wife, their mother, their friend. Please god, do what's best for Stephanie, while we on earth do our part to do your will. In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit. Amen.

Eric: Thank you, father, so much. Thank you. Oh, my.

Thorne: It's nice that he was here.

Stephanie: I love you.

Eric: Thank you, father, so much.

Ridge: Father, don't go. I need your help.

Bridget: Mom, what you're saying, it -- it doesn't make sense.

Brooke: But you know what, I have a feeling. I have a gut instinct that she's doing this to manipulate Ridge to choose Taylor.

Bridget: But what if she's not? What if this heart attack is real, and the timing is just a coincidence?

Brooke: Oh, well then, that's even worse. Because she's using her illness to play on her son's sympathies for her own selfish reasons.

Bridget: You don't think that ridge is gonna see through that?

Brooke: I don't know. This has been such a difficult time for him, such an emotional time. And he's put under tremendous stress to try to make a decision between two families. And just as he's ready to make his decision, Stephanie does something like this. She does it so that he will choose the woman that she wants him to be with for the rest of his life. And she does it so cleverly, so nobody would even notice -- unless, of course, you've been on the receiving end of her manipulations, which I would know about. I know how badly she wants me out of Ridge's life. I love Ridge so much. We've been through every test imaginable, and we've just come through it stronger. And now, all of that just hangs in jeopardy because of Stephanie. I am convinced that she is behind all of this, that she has masterminded this. But how do I stop it? How do I put a stop to it before it's too late?

Ridge: Father, you said that we need to do whatever we can to help my mother. Well, she's giving up. I can't -- I won't let her do that. But I can't do it alone. I need your help.

Chaplain: I'm not sure what you're asking me.

Ridge: I'm asking you to be a part of something wonderful. I'm asking you to help me with something that could mean the difference between life and death for my mother. Taylor? It's gonna be okay. We're gonna make it okay. Mother, Taylor and I are here, just like you always wanted. But not just for the moment, not just for the day or the week. We're gonna be together for the rest of our lives. I love you, doc, with all my heart. Never doubt that. Never doubt how blessed I feel that god brought you back into my life, into our children's lives. I don't how these things happen sometimes. Maybe god doesn't even really intend us to know. But I believe in what we had before you went away, and I still believe in it now. The chaplain's here, and he's willing to renew our vows right here and now. If you're willing to be my one -- my only wife.

Taylor: Yes. Yes, Ridge. Of course I want to be your wife. Today, tomorrow, forever.
