Steffy: Go ahead, Grandpa Jack, say it.

Phoebe: We know you're dying to.

Jack: All right, smarty-pants. I'll -- for the umpteenth time, I'll say it. I can't believe it. I can't believe that my wonderful, lovely daughter is here again. That you're not a dream. You're alive and as beautiful as ever.

Steffy: That's true.

Phoebe: If that's even possible.

Taylor: And here I was worried about having circles under my eyes.

Steffy: From you and Grandpa Jack staying up all night?

Jack: That was my fault. I'm sorry. So late. I didn't want to let you get out of my sight.

Phoebe: That's how we all felt.

Steffy: We didn't want to let her go.

Taylor: I didn't want to let you go. I still don't. But a little time is passing now and --

Jack: Things are very slowly getting back to normal.

Phoebe: Whatever normal is for this family.

[ Girls laugh ]

Taylor: I'm here, Dad. I'm really here.

Jack: Oh, I can't believe it. I just -- I keep hugging you.

Steffy: Hate to break it to you, grandpa, but you're gonna have to let her go for a while. She's meeting dad at the beach house.

Phoebe: She can't wait, can you, Mom?

Ridge: Yeah, I'm hoping so, too, Dad. I'm hoping this time will give me a chance to reconnect with both Taylor and Brooke. Before I have to make a decision here that's going to impact so many lives. Anyway, I just wanted to -- to thank you for being so supportive. I just wish everyone would stay out of my way, especially mother.

[ Knocking on door ] Hey, look, somebody's at the door. I think Taylor's arrived early. All right, thanks. Yeah, you, too. Bye.

Stephanie: You're bringing Brooke and Taylor here? What the hell is the matter with you?

Thomas: Gaby? Gaby, you in here?

Gaby: I can't stay here. I have to go.

Thomas: Go? What? Go where?

Gaby: Look, your grandmother gave me a job. She's been so good to me. But now that I know that I'm an illegal immigrant, I don't want to get her into trouble.

Thomas: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Gaby, calm down. This is gonna be okay.

Gaby: No, okay? It's not gonna be okay. Yesterday, I had my whole future in front of me -- my education, my scholarship -- and now I don't have anything. Oh, god. What am I gonna do? What is gonna happen to me?

Thomas: It's going to be all right.

Thomas: Gaby, listen to me.

Thomas: Gaby, listen to me. Someway, somehow, we're gonna work this out. You can't give up though, okay?

Gaby: Thomas, I don't want to give up. That's the last thing I want to do. But you heard the lawyer. There's nothing that can be done.

Thomas: To change your status as an illegal alien, you mean?

Gaby: I have to go back to my country of origin and apply for citizenship.

Thomas: Which you're not going to do. Okay, you are not going anywhere. Do you hear me?

Gaby: What choice do I have? Huh? If I stay here, what kind of future am I gonna have?

Thomas: I'll tell you what kind. The kind of future that your mother wanted for you. A college education and everything else you've ever dreamed of. Listen, it's gonna happen, okay, Gaby? I'm gonna help you make it happen.

Taylor: The girls just threw me out of the kitchen. They insisted on doing the dishes.

Jack: They're quite the young ladies.

Taylor: It's amazing how much they've grown up. But when you've been in a coma for a long time -- Dad, I'm sorry that upsets you to hear about that. But the good news is things are moving back along.

Jack: Oh, moving back along. That means having a date with your husband?

Taylor: Yeah, a chance for Ridge and I to reconnect, yes.

Jack: His idea.

Taylor: Ridge is married to two women. He has two families. He has a difficult choice to make.

Jack: And the girls don't know about it, do they? Or Thomas? Do they know that Brooke is going to be going to the beach house after you leave?

Taylor: I didn't want to upset them, Dad.

Jack: Oh, upset them. It would upset me that their mother is in a contest with another -- Taylor, I don't want to tell you how to lead your life. I can't tell you how to lead your life. I'm just happy that you're actually here, that you're alive. But if this comes down to a decision that Ridge has to make as to which woman he spends the rest of his life with, he loves you. And obviously he has never stopped loving you.

Taylor: That isn't the issue, Dad.

Jack: It is the issue. And it should be that simple. Brooke should pack her things and get out.

Taylor: But those things include a son and a daughter that Ridge loves very much. Which puts my husband in the middle of a terrible dilemma. Listen, I need to go get my bag together to get over there in time. So, you sure you don't mind hanging out with the girls? Don't let them wear you out.

Jack: No, the whole rest of the day is mapped out for us. Taylor, I don't want to lose sight of you.

Taylor: Don't worry, I'll be in good hands.

Jack: No, you've been through so much, you don't need to go through something like this.

Taylor: No, it's okay, Dad. Please understand. I need to spend some time with my husband. I love you, Dad.

Jack: I love you, too, baby. So much.

Ridge: What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you, barging in here like this?

Stephanie: Well, someone has to straighten you out about this ridiculous decision.

Ridge: I haven't made a decision. That's what being here is all about.

Stephanie: Good, because in my mind, there's only one choice.

Ridge: Oh, let me guess -- Taylor.

Stephanie: Of course it's Taylor. She's the love of your life. She's the mother of your children.

Ridge: Brooke is also the mother of my youngest child.

Stephanie: I know you don't want to hurt Brooke and her children. But, honey, do you think it's really a good idea to spend a day down here alone with Brooke?

Ridge: Mother, I'm spending a day with both women. I'm not excluding Taylor.

Stephanie: The problem is you're including Brooke. You're never going to find the peace and contentment with Brooke that you had with

Ridge: Oh, damn it. Will you just stop it? Stop it. Look, I'm sick of listening to you cheerlead for Taylor at Brooke's expense. I don't really care whether you think this is a good idea or not. I haven't been able to spend quality time with Taylor since the night she came back.

Stephanie: Well, then that's what you should do. Spend time with her, quality time, and then let it end there. Call Brooke up and tell her you've changed your mind. Tell her not to come down.

Ridge: Mother, stop it! This isn't helping! I need to spend time with both women -- Taylor and Brooke. Get it through your head.

Stephanie: Oh, really? And what is this? Some kind of competition? One of those reality shows where you get to choose? You can't -- neither one of these women deserves to be treated that way. I know you love them both but Taylor's your touchstone. She brings out the best in you. This is the woman that you need to spend the rest of your life with.

Ridge: You're just oversimplifying this whole thing.

Stephanie: No, I'm not. You'll never love Brooke the way you love Taylor. Brooke was there when Taylor died. She was -- look, she was a bandage for you, wasn't she? A way not to deal with the loss, not to deal with the pain? Honey, you should know what you need to do now, for everyone's sake, especially Taylor's. I don't know why you can't see that.

Thomas: You need to dry those tears, unpack those suitcases, because leaving is not an option.

Gaby: But if I stay --

Thomas: It's the only way you will realize your dream, your mother's dream and mine.

Gaby: Your dream?

Thomas: You know, ever since we both got accepted at Larchmont College, I've had this -- I've had this picture in my head of what it'd be like, you and me, going to college together. You know, my dad always says your college years are your best years. And I don't want to spend them without you, Gaby. I'm not spending them without you.

Gaby: Thomas, you're so sweet. But as much as we both want this to work out, it can't. There's nothing you can do.

Thomas: Yes, actually, there is. There is something.

Ridge: Well, I guess it's too much to expect that you would understand this.

Stephanie: What I do understand is your concern about the impact this decision will have on your children, all of your children. But I promise you, the family will help you raise R.J. Just the way we did for Eric just the way we did for Eric with Bridget and Rick. Honey, that little boy is going to be perfectly fine. But I won't be if you continue to place Taylor in this position. Sweetheart, all she wants is to resume her life with you. So, if you need to spend time with her, be alone with her, wonderful. Spend all the time you need. But, Ridge, let it end there.

[ Knocking on door ]

Taylor: Hi, I hope I'm not too early. Stephanie --

Stephanie: Hello, Taylor.

Taylor: I thought that was your car out there. I didn't know you were coming here.

Ridge: She's just leaving.

Stephanie: Yes, I am. Because I've said what I came to say and I hope I got through. Well, I hope you have a wonderful time together. Remember, this is the first day of the rest of your lives.

Taylor: Well, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out why she was here.

Ridge: She thinks I'm a fool for inviting Brooke down here as well. I'm sorry it's hurting you, me doing this. I really am. I truly am.

Taylor: No, don't be. I understand.

Gaby: Thomas, I don't know what you're thinking. But that lawyer made it very clear. I'd have to reapply for college with a student visa and that could take years.

Thomas: Well, there's a way around all this. Another option.

Gaby: I don't understand.

Thomas: Connor didn't really want to talk about it because it's not exactly kosher.

Gaby: Then why even bring it up?

Thomas: Because I don't want it to end like this. I don't want to see you lose what means so much to you. What meant so much to your mother. You've worked so hard to get to this point, Gaby. And your mom has. You're so close to realizing your dreams. And to lose that and have it taken all away from you now? I'm not gonna let that happen. Especially now.

Gaby: Thomas, what're you doing?

Thomas: Be my wife, Gaby. Marry me.

[ Doorbell rings ]

Phoebe: Hello?

Dante: Hi, you must be Phoebe. Or is it Steffy?

Phoebe: Phoebe. Have we met?

Dante: No. I'm a friend of your mother's.

Jack: Can I help you?

Dante: Uh, your daughter and I are friends and I heard she's back in town. I just -- I just wanted to say a quick hello, that's all.

Phoebe: She's not here.

Dante: Do you expect her soon?

Jack: Actually, not till tomorrow.

Phoebe: She's with my dad.

Dante: Good. Where she belongs. With her husband.

Jack: Any message?

Dante: No message. Thank you.

Ridge: Do you call that making it easier on me?

Taylor: That didn't help?

Ridge: It's too soon to tell.

Taylor: Well, we have all day.

Ridge: Yes, we do. No need to rush anything.

Taylor: So.

Ridge: So.

Taylor: Here we are.

Ridge: Mm-hmm. Here we are. You hear that?

Taylor: I don't hear anything.

Ridge: Exactly. Just you and me, Doc.

Taylor: Alone at last.

Ridge: Mm-hmm. For the first time since --

Taylor: Since the first night I got back.

Ridge: I haven't forgotten, doc. I never could.

Taylor: We couldn't take our hands off each other.

Ridge: We still can't.

Taylor: That says a lot.

Ridge: It says a lot about our feelings. About how connected our hearts are, doesn't it?

Taylor: I love you so much, Ridge Forrester.

Ridge: Oh, god, doc.

Taylor: I know you have this huge decision to make. But let's stay in the now, shall we?

Ridge: Is that you're professional opinion, doctor?

Taylor: The doctor is off duty. The woman, however --

Ridge: Has never been more beautiful.

Taylor: And you, my love?

Ridge: I feel like the biggest heel in the world right now. After everything I'm putting you through -- god knows what you went through to get back to me. I -- I don't know, doc.

Taylor: Do you hear me complaining?

Ridge: No, I don't. Because that's the kind of person you are. Understanding, empathetic. But you've got to be disappointed.

Taylor: No, not in you. Never in you. You wouldn't be the man I fell in love with if you didn't consider everybody else's feelings. Not that I don't want you to choose me, but I'm going to support you and I'm going to love you through this decision, whatever decision you make and every decision you face, because that's what love is. That's what being your wife is. My dearest husband.

Ridge: My dearest wife.
