[ Knock at door ]

Stephanie: Eric, hurry up! They're here! Hello, hello, hello!

[ Speaking in unison ]

Steffy: Hi, grandma.

Phoebe: Hi, grandma.

Thomas: Do you two have to say everything in stereo?

Stephanie: Of course they do.

[ Stephanie laughs ]

Taylor: I hope we're not early.

Stephanie: Oh no, you're right on time. Come in, come in.

Taylor: I'm so happy to be here.

Stephanie: And we're happy to have you here.

Taylor: Gosh, there's so many beautiful memories in this house.

Stephanie: And so many more to make.

Gaby: Hey -- oh, I'm sorry, I don't mean to interrupt.

Stephanie: No, don't be silly.

[ In unison ]

Steffy: Hi, Gaby.

Phoebe: Hi, Gaby.

Gaby: I just had to see you in person.

Thomas: Mom, this is Gaby, Helen's daughter.

Taylor: Oh, my goodness, hi. Hi.

Gaby: Hey, uh -- gosh, I'm so happy for you guys and for the whole family.

Taylor: Thank you. I'm sorry to hear about your mother. If you ever wanna come and talk to me --

Gaby: Now I know where Thomas gets it from.

Taylor: So you two are good friends?

Gaby: Yeah, he's helped me through some really rough times.

Taylor: I'm glad to hear that. Okay, guys, go on down to the pool.

Thomas: All right. Come on, ladies.

Eric: Have a good time.

Gaby: Okay.

Taylor: Sweetheart, go ahead, you can go. I'll be right here talking to your grandparents. I'll be right down.

Phoebe: Okay.

Taylor: I'll be right there.

Phoebe: Okay.

Eric: They just want to spend every second with you, don't they?

Taylor: I can't get enough of them either.

Eric: Well, I have to say, it's all I can do to keep this to myself. I wanna just shout it from the rooftops that you're back.

Taylor: No -- no, not yet, no. I just -- I wanna enjoy this, just being here with you -- and the children.

Stephanie: When I saw you walk through that door, I just said, "what a blessing." We're so lucky to have you back.

[ Ridge remembering ]

Taylor: All that time that I was in the coma, the only thing that must've helped me get through that was knowing that my family needed me.

Ridge: And we did. We did -- we do. We -- we need you so much, Taylor. Oh, my god, all the prayers I've said for you. All the prayers that our kids said.

Taylor: I felt them. I felt every one of them. Even though we were oceans apart, I knew we were still connected by the one thing that's always connected us -- our love. It's a love so strong, it can overcome anything. Which is exactly what's happened. Your love, and the children's love -- that's what brought me back to you. And nothing -- nothing and no one can pull us apart again -- ever. I love you. I love you so much.

Nick: Forrester.

Ridge: Nick, I didn't hear the door.

Nick: Well, I decided to let myself in again.

Ridge: Yeah? What brings you by?

Nick: Brooke around?

Ridge: She went to the office for a while.

Nick: I'll try to catch up with her there.

Ridge: Anything I can help you with?

Nick: No, actually. I just wanted to make sure she was okay.

Ridge: Wow, you are such a good friend.

Nick: Well, if anybody needs a friend right now, I'd say it's your wife. She called the boat last night looking for Bridget. She was pretty upset about the fact you two aren't sleeping together.

Ridge: Nick, I think I'd be best if you don't stick your nose where it's not --

Nick: Hey, Forrester, hold it, hold it, hold it. I'm not passing judgment here.

Ridge: Really?

Nick: I would hate to have the cards that you've been dealt. But something's gotta happen here, Forrester. The longer you let this whole thing go on, the more people get hurt, especially those kids.

Ridge: I realize that, Nick.

Nick: Well, then put an end to it. The quicker you find a place for Taylor, the better.

Ridge: Who says Taylor's leaving this house?

Gaby: Your mom looks wonderful.

Steffy: Doesn't she?

Gaby: You guys must be really excited to have her back.

Steffy: You have no idea. Phoebe and I just catch each other talking to her for hours and hours.

Thomas: And hours, and hours.

Steffy: You do, too, Thomas.

Phoebe: It's just the sound of her voice.

Steffy: I know. I don't even mind when she tells us to clean our room.

Thomas: Yeah, well, we'll see how long that lasts.

Gaby: I'm sure it'll last forever.

Thomas: I'm sorry, Gaby. We shouldn't be going on and on like this. It probably makes you think of your mom.

Gaby: Guys, I love hearing about your mom. I know how excited you guys are to have her back. I'm thrilled.

Nick: What're you tellin' me, Forrester? Are you saying that you're asking Brooke to leave?

Ridge: I'm not telling you anything, Nick.

Nick: The hell you're not. I know what I heard.

Ridge: There are a lot of decisions to be made, all right? Let's just leave it at that.

Nick: I understand that your head must be spinning, 'cause this is such a bizarre situation, but don't ignore the fact that Taylor hasn't been around for a while. A lot's happened since then. You've built a life and a family with Brooke. You can't turn your back on that.

Ridge: I don't intend to.

Nick: Well, then what are you going to do?

[ Nick laughs ] This is so typical. You have no idea, do you?

Ridge: Oh, what the hell does that mean, Nick?

Nick: Just your whole history of indecision when it comes to these two women. You're just stuck right in the middle there, aren't ya? One on one side, the other on the other, while you decide. But this time, two women are getting hurt -- especially Brooke.

Taylor: Wow, this really brings back memories.

Stephanie: How many cups of tea have we shared in this room?

[ Stephanie laughs ]

Eric: Taylor, you've brought this family back to life.

Stephanie: I was so -- I was so excited, I couldn't sleep last night. I feel so energized, you know, that this family's finally getting back on track, and -- all that loss that we suffered while you been gone. That's not important. What's important is you're here, and you're home and -- I can feel it happening.

Taylor: What?

Stephanie: The shift. It's going to go right back to the way it was.

Taylor: I hope so.

Stephanie: It's inevitable.

Taylor: A lot has changed while I was gone, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Is it difficult, sharing the house with Brooke? I mean, it's your house.

Taylor: Brooke is being -- she's being pretty gracious about all this. Last night, Ridge told her that they couldn't share a room.

Stephanie: Good, good. I'm hoping soon rather than later he's gonna ask her not to share the house.

Taylor: Well, actually, it wasn't really Ridge's idea. Although, I think he would have said it.

Stephanie: Was it Brooke's?

Taylor: No. It was Thomas.

Eric: Thomas? Well, I'm not actually surprised. He and the girls are old enough now to be aware of what's going on.

Stephanie: I wish Brooke had just stepped aside.

Taylor: Brooke did make an effort, I will say that. You know, I'm trying to see this from her point of view, because I know this has to be really difficult for her. I mean, her whole world has been turned upside down.

Stephanie: Well, so has yours.

Taylor: Yeah, but she at least deserves some credit for being such a good mother to my children.

Eric: And she has been that.

Taylor: I can see that Brooke has come a long way. I can she's changed. She has really matured.

Stephanie: Well, there are a lot things you don't know about. And if you did, you might have a different opinion.

Ridge: It's not that black and white, Nick.

Nick: I understand it's complicated.

Ridge: Well, that's all you understand. 'Cause you don't know Taylor. You don't know what our relationship was. Frankly, you don't have a clue what it's like to be a parent. I have to consider how this affects all of my kids, Nick.

Nick: But Forrester, your kids are in different stages. Thomas and the girls are older. They're gonna understand the decision you make. But R.J. and Hope -- these are little babies. They need a full-time father.

Ridge: Well, I'm trying to do right by all of my kids, Nick.

Nick: Forrester. When we found out R.J. Was yours, I was outta the picture. And that was the hardest things I ever had to do in my life and little Hope? I gave her to you. You're her father. Now you're responsible for those two little children. And if you walk out on them, it'll be the biggest mistake that you've ever made.

Gaby: I'm sorry.

Thomas: No, no, don't be.

Gaby: This is supposed to be you guys' happy day, and I'm crying like a little baby.

Thomas: Hey, you just lost your mom, Gaby. Of course you're emotional.

Phoebe: I used to cry all the time when I thought our mom had died.

Steffy: We all did. I mean, even Thomas did.

Phoebe: How 'bout if we share our mom with you?

Gaby: Oh guys, wow. You don't have to do that. I mean, you just got your mom back.

Thomas: Oh, mom has plenty of love for all of us. I mean, I know she could never replace your mom, and she would never try to. But she is a really special person. You should come over to our place and get to know her.

Gaby: I'd really like that.

Phoebe: We would, too.

Gaby: Cool.

[ Laughter ]

Taylor: You don't think Brooke's been good with the kids?

Stephanie: No, she has been. But she'd have you believe that you're interrupting a perfect marriage. And that has not been the case.

Taylor: All marriages face challenges, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Well, these had serious issues. Even before the marriage, regarding Hope. And then there was the fiasco in South America, on the honeymoon.

Eric: Stephanie, stop this. Now, come on, right now.

Stephanie: No, she has to know this.

Eric: No, we're not gonna go into all that. For god's sake. You know, Taylor coming back is a miracle from god, but not for you. No, you -- you see it as an opportunity to bash Brooke. Well, it's not. It's a blessing from heaven.

Stephanie: You're right. Some things never change.

Taylor: Ridge obviously loves her.

Stephanie: But not the way he loves you. I mean, don't ever question that.

Taylor: No, I never did. I never doubted that. That's the only thing that kept me going -- that's the only thing that brought me back here. That, plus knowing that god's in control. I see you're wearing the cross that I gave you.

Stephanie: For the first time in a very long time. I told you the other day how angry I was and how I'd lost my faith. I was so angry that god had taken you from us, taken you from your children. But now you're back, and -- I feel that my faith has been restored, just the way this family's going to be restored. The way it was meant to be, before --before Brooke. It's going to be that way again. It's such a blessing to have you back.

Ridge: Well, I can't prioritize my kids like that, Nick. Yes, Hhope and R.J. Deserve to live with both parents. But so do my kids, who grew up without a mother.

Nick: Come on, Forrester. Thomas is gonna be off to college soon.

Ridge: Oh, so what, I should just forget about his mother after everything she's done for this family? She fought death to get back to me and our kids, Nick. That's how much she loves all of us. I can't pretend that doesn't matter, because it does.

Nick: What about you? Do you still love Taylor?

Ridge: I never stopped loving her, Nick. I only moved on with my life because I didn't have a choice. I thought I'd lost her forever.

Nick: But you moved on. Did you hear what you said? You moved on, and you committed to Brooke. Right?

Ridge: I love Brooke, and I love Taylor.

Nick: Well, you can't have them both, you moron! You gotta commit to one of these women, as soon as possible!

Ridge: I know, I know.

Nick: Forrester, you're married to Brooke in all the ways that matter. Now, she's committed her entire adult life to you. Through all the ups and downs, she never wavered, and she never gave her heart to anybody else. She saved it for you. And finally, I think maybe, you came to your senses and realized what kind of a great girl you have here. You know, this is a dream come true for her. She's married to you. You have R.J. and Hope. They're counting on you. Don't let 'em down.

Taylor: Stephanie, you know how much I appreciate you looking out for me.

Stephanie: And honey, I always will.

[ Buzzing ] Hmm, pool house -- I wonder what this could be about. Hello? Yes, yes. All right. Okay, okay. Now, which daughter do you suppose it is that wants you to come down to the pool?

Eric: A-ha, you're being summoned.

Taylor: So I am. Well, I'll be outside.

Eric: Taylor is still the same kind, compassionate woman she's always been, isn't she?

Stephanie: Yes, she is. I just worry that it'll be used against her.

Eric: What're you talking about?

Stephanie: Brooke.

Eric: Oh, Stephanie, for god's sake. Don't start stirring the pot here.

Stephanie: I'm not, I'm being realistic.

Eric: Taylor just got home! Give her some time.

Stephanie: Some time? Some time for what? Listen to me, and make no mistake about this -- Brooke, and understandably, is going to do everything in her power to hang on to ridge.

Eric: And so now you're gonna do everything in your power to get her out of his life. Like dredging up all the sordid details of Brooke's relationship with Nick.

Stephanie: Well, Taylor needs to know about that.

Eric: All Taylor cares about right now is being home with her family!

Stephanie: You're right. I don't wanna spoil her joy.

Eric: Good.

Stephanie: But it's finally -- it's finally over. All of the pain and the embarrassment. Brooke is going to be out of our lives.

Eric: I thought you had finally come around to accepting Brooke.

Stephanie: I put up with her because my son gave me an ultimatum. Now, do you honestly think that I have put on a happy face with her and not been pained by that? I've been forced to do that in order to see my grandchildren. You know that she had the gall to tell me that I would have to have her permission in order to see those children. Taylor would never have done anything like that. She would never use her children. She's too honorable, too --

[ Stephanie sighs ] I'll be damned if I'm going to allow Taylor to be placed in the position that she has to share her home and her husband with Brooke.

Eric: Who are you calling? Stephanie?

Stephanie: Hello, Brooke. Yes, yes. Well, honey, I was wondering if I could come over and talk to you? Fine. I'll be right over.

Eric: I thought we agreed to let things be.

Stephanie: I never agreed to that. Brooke -- Brooke has to understand that she needs to move out of Taylor's home.

Eric: None of this is any of your business. Do not get involved.

Stephanie: Do not get involved? Brooke involved me when she started sleeping her way through my family. Eric, she has compromised us. She has compromised every single one of us, and I am not going to let this continue. Ridge has a chance here, Eric -- a second chance at a life with Taylor. And I am going to do everything -- everything in my power to see that that comes about. What has to understand is that she's got to move out of Taylor's house. And she needs to move out today.
