Bridget: You did it.

Nick: I guess I did.

Bridget: I never thought that we would be able to get my dad's approval.

Nick: I was just telling it like it is.

Bridget: Memorize that speech. Maybe it'll work on Ridge.

Nick: That's a little different story.

Bridget: Oh, come on. If my dad can come around, I don't see why Ridge can't accept our engagement.

Nick: Because he's never had to do anything in his life.

Bridget: But if my dad's not worried about me anymore, I don't know why Ridge would be?

Nick: Ridge has special issues.

Bridget: Well, he's going to get over them. "Win Ridge over."

Nick: What are you doing?

Bridget: I'm making your "to do" list.

Nick: Oh, no.

Bridget: Oh, yes. You're getting off easy, mister. You ought to see my list.

Nick: Well, I'm not as good at this stuff as you are.

Bridget: My mom's going to help me. I just -- I still have to talk to the caterers and the musician and -- the florist. And I still haven't -- I haven't picked a dress! Oh, my god, I need to go. I have a million things to do.

Nick: Wait a minute. What happened to savoring every moment and all that good stuff, huh?

Bridget: We're going to do that after the wedding.

Nick: No, come on. Father's gone, the office is all ours. What do you say?

Bridget: Well, my father accepted us. I don't know if he's going to accept this. He just accepted the wedding.

Nick: I'll be fast.

Megan: Oh!

Nick: Ah!

Megan: Sorry. Sorry.

Bridget: I was just leaving, actually.

Megan: No, no, no. You're good. You're good. Actually, nothing I haven't seen around here before.

Nick: Didn't I put that "do not disturb" sign out?

Megan: No, nick, you didn't. But I'm going to go make you one.

Bridget: I can't believe she just saw that.

Nick: Why? She knows we're engaged. It's legal

Bridget: True. But I shouldn't be fooling around. I've got way too much to do. And so do you. Now, I think I'm going to go to my mom's and ask her if she can by my matron of honor.

Nick: Oh, come on.

Bridget: And, um -- uh! Have you picked your best man yet?

Nick: Do I really need one?

Bridget: Yes.

Nick: Just go to your mom's. I'll catch up with you in awhile.

Bridget: Listen to me. It's really important that we get Ridge's support. If we're going to bring our families together, he's got to be part of the wedding.

Brooke: The champagne goes right out to the garden.

Waiter: Thank you. Right away.

Rick: Hey, mom.

Brooke: Oh, Rick! Oh, there you are. Oh, you know, I have missed you so much.

Rick: Me, too.

Brooke: How was your flight?

Rick: Oh, it was no problems at all. I mean, look at this place. It looks like grand central station.

Brooke: I know. Bridget didn't give us much time to pull it together.

Rick: Yeah, what's up with that? I mean, she's not -- you know --

Brooke: Pregnant? No. No, I don't think so. She's just happy and excited. And they're looking forward to starting their life together.

Rick: And what about you?

Brooke: What about me?

Rick: Well, are you happy and excited that she's marrying your former fiancÚ?

Brooke: Yeah. It's fine. It's more than fine. It's wonderful. I wasn't sure about it at first. In fact, I told them to stop seeing each other. But Bridget didn't listen.

Rick: It sounds like Bridget.

Brooke: Yeah. But I'm glad she didn't listen because this really is something special.

Rick: Really?

Brooke: Yes. I had very long talks with both of them. Bridget is not rebelling, and nick is not on the rebound. I think you'll see that for yourself once you see your sister.

Rick: Speaking of that, is she here?

Brooke: No. She's somewhere with nick.

Rick: Right. Leaving you here to do all the work. What a slacker, huh?

Brooke: No, I don't mind. Really. I owe her that much, don't you think? This is going to be the perfect wedding. That's what Bridget deserves. And that's what Bridget's going to get.

[ Nick clears his throat ]

Nick: Got a minute?

Ridge: Depends. What do you want?

Brooke: Everything goes out into the garden. Thank you.

Bridget: Mom? What's going on?

Brooke: What's going on? There's a wedding here tomorrow, if you haven't heard?

Bridget: No, I know. I know. But I thought we were going to keep it simple. You didn't have to go to all this trouble. Oh, my gosh.

Brooke: Honey, if you don't like those, I can always change them.

Bridget: No, no, no, no. That's not it. They're beautiful. I just -- you did not have to do all this.

Brooke: I wanted to. Rick's here.

Bridget: He is?

Brooke: Yes. You just missed him.

Bridget: Oh, he's -- oh, maybe I can catch him really quickly.

Brooke: No, no, no, no. You have to go upstairs and pick out a dress. I had a whole rack sent over from Forrester.

Bridget: Okay.

Brooke: Look, I know it's not the same as if your father designed it specifically for you, but honey, you didn't really give us much notice.

Bridget: No, no, I know. I'm not complaining. Believe me. Just the fact that you're supporting me this much means the world to me. Thanks.

Brooke: No. Thank you. I've been waiting for this opportunity. Ever since you came home from Copenhagen, I wanted to find some kind of way to make up for the mistakes that I've made in the past. I want to be the mother to you that I always should have been. And I'm going to support you and nick 100%.

Bridget: I would take 80 if you could just convince Ridge to give me the rest. Just a little acceptance. Is that too much to ask?

Nick: Don't go getting your hopes all up. I'm not here to tell you the wedding's off.

Ridge: Then we don't have anything to talk about, nick.

Nick: Well, maybe you don't.

Ridge: Look, if this is about what I said the other day --

Nick: Has Brooke had a chance to talk to you yet and straighten you out? Because she doesn't quite remember that Puerto Vista thing the way you do.

Ridge: Nick, you know I'm getting my memory back, right? I didn't realize how difficult it would be remembering everything like it just happened.

Nick: Is that an apology?

Ridge: An explanation. So, all these memories are coming flooding back to me. All the emotions. And I overreact. But, that doesn't make my feeling about Bridget any less valid.

Nick: So, you're supporting the wedding?

Ridge: No.

Nick: Ah. It really doesn't matter one way or the other. It's gonna happen. At your house, actually. Wasn't my idea. I'd like to have it on the shady marlin. That would be fine with me. Say some vows, throw some rice. But women are wired a little differently. I guess I don't have to tell you. You're an old pro at this marriage thing, aren't you?

Ridge: So, now you're slamming me?

Nick: Hey, just trying to talk to you, bro.

Ridge: Well, then maybe we should change the subject then.

Nick: Is that why you decided to come to work today? So you could just avoid this whole messy deal? Can't say I really blame you. Your house must just be overrun right now with caterers and florists.

Ridge: Nick, is there something specific you wanted to talk about? Otherwise, I think we're done.

Nick: Ah! Glad you reminded me. I actually wanted to give you something.

Ridge: What's this?

Nick: It's a tradition. A cigar. You always give a guy a cigar when you're asking him to be your best man.

Brooke: Ridge's opinion means a lot to you.

Bridget: Well, of course it does. I mean, everybody else has come around. You and dad and Stephanie.

Brooke: Bridget, you can't let Ridge's opposition get in the way of your joy. This should be the happiest time of your life. And you can't let anybody take that away from you.

Bridget: It's not just about me, though, mom. It's about our family -- our whole family. I really want this wedding to bring us all together. I know it could. Look what it's doing for us.

Brooke: I feel closer to you than I have in a long time.

Bridget: I feel closer to you, too, mom. You know, I've lived so much of my life in your shadow. I always felt this need to compete with you.

Brooke: Oh, honey, I'm sorry. I never should have put you in that position.

Bridget: No. But it's -- it's not like that anymore. What I've found with Nick has changed me. And it's changed everything. I wasn't even looking for it. I didn't expect it, but -- here we are. And I just feel so blessed to have you here supporting me. And encouraging me. Doing all this.

Brooke: It's the least I could do. Especially after all of the pain that I caused you.

Bridget: Don't, mom. It's in the past. I just -- I really, really want to put all the insecurities and that kind of competition -- I want to put it behind us.

Brooke: Well, I do, too. I do, too. More than you know.

Bridget: Me, too. It's kind of ironic really. I'm starting this new part of my life and stepping out of your shadow, and there's no one that I would rather have by my side than you.

Brooke: And I'll be there. Whatever you need me to do.

Bridget: I really want you to stand up for me. I want you to be my matron of honor.

Ridge: You've got to be out of your mind if you think I'd stand up for you.

Nick: Yeah. I know it's crazy. I know how you feel about me and how you feel about the wedding. I could've asked the old man, he would've jumped at the chance. He just loves Bridget.

Ridge: What are you saying, I don't?

Nick: No. No. I'm just saying it would've been easier to ask him.

Ridge: Eah, but that's not your style is it, Nick? Everything's got to be a challenge.

Nick: Well, if you turn me down, it wouldn't surprise me.

Ridge: You don't really want me at your wedding, nick. You don't want me as your best man.

Nick: If you don't come to the wedding, bridget's going to be very disappointed.

Ridge: She send you here?

Nick: She doesn't know anything about it.

Ridge: But you'll certainly go running back to her and tell her I said no, wouldn't you?

Nick: I don't think you're going to say no.

Ridge: Why is that?

Nick: Because I know how you feel about your family. I know how you feel, Forrester. No matter what the circumstances, you fight for them. You are a fighter when it comes to your family. You just can't let them go, can you?

Ridge: Now, what does that have to do with anything, nick?

Nick: Feelings that strong can overcome anything. Even your feelings for me. You've got a chance to do something heroic here, Forrester. You've got two families -- the Marones and the Forresters. You've got a chance to bring them together.

Ridge: Oh, I thought that's what you and Bridget were trying to do?

Nick: We're just putting people in one place. You're the cornerstone. You stand up for us -- you've got something to build on.

Ridge: And if I don't?

Nick: It's just a bunch of people making toasts and eating cake. I'm not asking you to do this for me. I'm asking you to do it for Bridget because you know what it'd mean to her. You can give her an incredible gift here, Forrester. The best wedding present she could ask for. So what do you say? Do I have a best man?

Megan: Ridge? I have those reports you wanted.

Ridge: Oh, thanks, Megan. Just put them on the desk there.

Megan: You know I can't tell you how great it is to have you back.

Ridge: Well, it's great to be back.

Megan: You know, it's starting to feel like old times again.

Ridge: Already? I've only been here for a couple hours.

Megan: No, I don't mean just the business. I mean what's happening with your family, too. You know, your homecoming, Bridget's wedding. Everybody's trying to come together. Nick and Bridget certainly are -- I just caught them making out in your father's office.

Ridge: Aw -- I'm going to have to disinfect the place.

Megan: Well, Bridget was kind of embarrassed. He seemed fine with it, though. You know, they're a pretty adorable couple, Ridge. Come on, I -- I'm just really happy something good is happening for Bridget. I mean, after all the bad luck she's had, she deserves someone like nick. He's rugged, he's handsome, sexy -- to tell you the truth, I think he's really one of the greatest guys I've ever met. Next to you, of course, boss.

Ridge: Well, thank you for that. Anything else?

Megan: Uh, no. That'll do it.

Ridge: Then I guess that'll do it. Thank you, Megan.

Megan: You're welcome.

Bridget: So you don't want to be my matron of honor?

Brooke: Don't get me wrong, honey. I'm touched that you asked.

Bridget: But you're turning me down?

Brooke: Well, don't you think it would be strange? Me standing up there with you and Nick at the alter?

Bridget: So, you just really care what people think?

Brooke: Don't you?

Bridget: No. I don't. Our family has had it's share of problems and scandals, but this wedding isn't one of them. And if you stand up there for me, I think it could put a lot of our scandals to rest.

Brooke: So you want to make a statement?

Bridget: I want you beside me. Because I love you. And because you've inspired me. Mom, you're the woman that's taught me about confidence, commitment. You know, you never, ever gave up on your love for ridge. You always trusted your heart. Of course, it's gotten you in trouble at times, but -- you got what you wanted. You have your happiness and no one can take that away from you.

Brooke: And now it's your turn.

Bridget: Yeah, but I want to share it with you. Mom, if you stand for me, there will be nothing to whisper about. So -- so, you and Nick used to be an item, so what? He and I are getting married. And you're supporting us 100%.

Brooke: Well, when you put it that way. How could I turn you down?

Bridget: So you'll do it?

Brooke: I'd be honored.

Nick: Hey, why are you two always hugging and crying?

Brooke: Oh --

Bridget: Hey, you.

Nick: What is it? What is it? Did something happen? What is it now?

Bridget: No. Mom agreed to be my matron of honor.

Nick: Oh. That's nice. It's good timing 'cause I just found a best man.

Bridget: You did? Massimo?

Nick: No. Forrester.

Brooke: Ridge?

Nick: Yeah. It was easier than I thought. Actually, we were just hugging and crying, too.

Bridget: Oh, my goodness, you're incredible. Oh, this wedding really is going to bring our families together.

[ Phone ringing ]

Brooke: I have to get that. It could be the minister. Hello?

[ Screaming ] Hello?

Bridget: Mom, what is it?

Brooke: A woman -- screaming.

Bridget: Just screaming? She didn't say anything?

Brooke: No.

Nick: Well, it's probably some girls calling -- prank calling Thomas.

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, you're probably right.

Bridget: You should check the caller I.D.

Brooke: Oh, I'll just call their parents if it happens again. But right now, I just need to focus on the wedding.

Nick: That's probably a good idea.

Bridget: I can't believe that you and Ridge are going to stand up for us. Oh, this wedding is going to be perfect. Absolutely perfect.
