Nick: Now, where are we going?

Bridget: No, no, no. No peeking. Hey, I got to choose.

Nick: It's dark out. It's not like I can tell where we're going.

Bridget: Yeah, but you're a sailor, and you told me that the stars are your compass. So stop.

Nick: Well, give me a clue if I'm hot or cold at least. Hawaii?

Bridget: Oh, you're very hot. But we're not going to Hawaii.

Nick: We're not?

Bridget: Huh-uh.

Nick: I like that. See, I like that. See, you're learning. Keep me in suspense, a little surprise. Very good. Actually, I have a surprise for you I've been waiting to show you. Why don't you take a little seat down there at the lunch table, okay? Right down here. Okay?

Bridget: Okay.

Nick: Sit down.

Bridget: Okay. Oh, wow. Champagne and caviar?

Nick: Champagne and caviar?

Bridget: Yeah.

Nick: Actually, I was thinking of introducing to life's finer delicacies. Viola.

Bridget: What are those?

Nick: What are they? They're Buffalo wings and blue cheese.

Bridget: Oh. And who needs champagne when you've got beer?

Nick: Oh.

Bridget: Wow, when you go first class, you -- you go first class.

Nick: Here. A toast here. Cheers to the complete -- wait. You know, this isn't tea and crumpets. It's Buffalo wings and beer.

Bridget: I know.

Nick: All right?

Bridget: Yeah.

Nick: Want sauce first, or you good?

Bridget: Okay. Um --

Nick: Cheers.

Bridget: Yeah.

Nick: Mm-hmm. That a girl, go after it. That's it, dig right in. By the way, I like them a little spicy.

Bridget: Um -- that beautiful, huh?

Bridget: It's hot. It's really, really hot. It's hot, hot.

Nick: Here. Hit it. Go. Oh, that'll fix it. Better?

Bridget: Oh, my gosh. Ooh.

Nick: A little kick to them, huh?

Bridget: Yeah. You know, they're good though.

Nick: Good. There's plenty here. Another one?

Bridget: No, that's okay. Thanks.

Thorne: I fired Amber.

Eric: You fired her? Fired her? She should be in prison for the rest of her life.

Thorne: I know, I know.

Eric: Attempted murder, Thorne. And she's going to get away with it. She's going to get away with it because of your partner.

Thorne: Dad, Sally's just trying to protect our company, our employees.

Eric: By blackmailing us. We press charges against Amber, and Sally sees to it that, that Bridget and Ridge's pictures are plastered all over the tabloids. My god, I warned you about her. I told you, you cannot trust Sally.

Thorne: Have you talked to Ridge?

Eric: Yeah. Yeah, I talked to him. Briefly. I walked out on him.

Thorne: Look, Dad, I understand your being upset. But given the situation? Bridget and Ridge were close to death.

Eric: Look, that kiss --

Thorne: He thought he was saying good-bye.

Eric: That kiss proved -- that proved that Ridge still has feelings about Bridget. Inappropriate feelings.

Thorne: Well, I don't see it that way, Dad. Okay? Ridge has made a lot of mistakes lately. Some big mistakes. But I can't blame him for this. That was an innocent kiss.

Eric: There's nothing innocent about Ridge's feelings here for Bridget. It's wrong. It's terribly wrong. And you're never going go convince me, or Brooke, otherwise.

Stephanie: I just hope that Brooke's going to be smart about this and forgive him.

Massimo: The question is, will he forgive her for throwing him out?

Stephanie: He crossed the line when he kissed her daughter.

Massimo: Oh, Stephanie, for god's sake. She was at death's door.

Stephanie: Look, I realize that there are a lot of mixed emotions going on here. I'm worried about that photograph getting in the press, though. I don't want anybody to know about this.

Massimo: It won't happen.

Stephanie: How do you know that it's not going to happen? If Amber or Sally take it into --

Massimo: Amber is not crazy enough to give up the only leverage that she has. That photo is the only thing keeping her out of the loony bin.

Stephanie: I'm worried about Bridget in all of this.

Massimo: Don't be.

Stephanie: You know something that I don't?

Massimo: Well, as of this moment, Bridget and Dominick are on a Marone jet sharing a romantic evening.

Stephanie: Where are they going?

Massimo: That I don't know, but Dominick has left it up to Bridget. You approve?

Stephanie: He seems to be a good friend for her.

Massimo: I think they're good for each other.

Stephanie: Are you planning a romantic evening of your own? There's certainly a lot of candles lit here. I mean, have you made some decision and you're moving on with your life?

Massimo: Yes, and no.

Stephanie: It's not Jackie, is it?

Massimo: I asked her to have dinner.

Stephanie: Tell me you're serving Hemlock. Why? Her behavior brought on your stroke. I mean, I -- why the -- I can't believe you're even considering taking her back into your life.

Massimo: Stephanie, she is in my life whether I have dinner with her or not. She's Dominick's mother.

Stephanie: But to compromise your dignity for Jackie. Mass, someone who's truly capable of love is what you need and deserve. You're never going to get that from her. She's incapable of it. You deserve so much better.

[ Door slams ]

Jackie: Don't hold back, Stephanie. Why don't you tell the man what you really think?

Stephanie: Returned to the scene of the crime, have we?

Jackie: I was invited, Stephanie. Were you?

[ Phone rings ]

Massimo: Whoops. Oh, I'm sorry. I have to take this call. Behave.

Stephanie: So, the dazzling star formerly known as Mr. Sharpe has fizzled out and you've come running back to Massimo as though nothing's ever happened.

Jackie: My relationship with Massimo is no concern of yours, Stephanie.

Stephanie: His well-being is very much my concern. I warned you I would not stand by and watch you slither back into his life. And I meant it.

Nick: Mm.

Bridget: There.

Nick: Mm? It's food for the gods.

Bridget: Yeah, it actually makes quite a decongestant.

Nick: You sure?

Bridget: How gallant of you, but no. Thanks.

Nick: Actually, I'm sort of done myself. Napkin?

Bridget: Yeah, thanks.

Nick: Um, dessert?

Bridget: What have you got, mud pie?

Nick: Mud pie -- why didn't I think of that? Mud pie. I don't have mud pie. But I do have something else. Go ahead, open it.

Bridget: Is it safe?

Nick: Maybe.

Bridget: Oh, Nick -- it's beautiful.

Nick: Just like you.

Jackie: I am not claiming innocence, Stephanie. I acknowledge my mistakes, my shortcomings.

Stephanie: If that were true, you wouldn't be here. You are not what he needs, Jackie.

Jackie: Well, that's for Massimo to decide, isn't it?

Stephanie: His vision is clouded.

Jackie: Oh. And yours is crystal clear, I suppose. You don't know me as well as you think.

Stephanie: I knew you well enough to see this one coming.

Jackie: And even if you did, people change.

Stephanie: Oh, really? Tell me, because I'm going to be absolutely fascinated by this. What miraculous changes have occurred in your personality?

Jackie: No miracles. It's just that I'm going to go back to being the woman that I was before all the lies.

Stephanie: Why aim so low?

Jackie: It doesn't matter to me what you think. The only person's opinion that matters to me is Massimo's. And I wouldn't blame him if he didn't want me back, but he does. So, if he can find it in his heart to forgive me, it's none of your business.

Stephanie: You've hurt a lot of people that I care about. I don't take that lightly. I'm not going to let you do that again.

Thorne: You're not saying you hope Ridge and Brooke split up?

Eric: No, no, no. My focus right now is on Bridget. You know, if I had had any idea that any of this was still going on -- I should've done more about it when it happened the first time. I trusted Ridge when he told me that this was all over.

Thorne: Dad, I have a daughter, too, okay? And I know as much as anyone what you're feeling. Your need to protect Bridget. But I think ridge is telling the truth here. I mean, what happened in that mineshaft happened weeks ago. Look, have you noticed any difference in the way they act towards each other since then? I mean, do they seem guilty or uncomfortable? I'm telling you, if something was going on, we would know about it.

Eric: Would we, Thorne?

Thorne: Dad -- look, Ridge and Brooke have never been happier. And from what I understand, Nick and Bridget are getting closer.

Eric: Yeah. Yeah, she talked to me about that. I'm just afraid maybe it's -- it's just her way of dealing with what's going on with Ridge.

Thorne: Oh, Nick would see right through that.

Eric: I suppose.

Thorne: He would, Dad, and he wouldn't tolerate it either. Look, I'm telling you, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Bridget has moved on.

Nick: Take a little breath here. I don't want you passing out on the floor of the plane, okay?

Bridget: It's -- it's beautiful. I don't -- I don't know what to say.

Nick: Well, you don't have to say anything.

Bridgett: Is this your excuse.

Nick: What do you mean, my excuse?

Bridget: So you're not just afraid to express your feelings?

Nick: Well, I sort of thought I did.

Bridget: I mean with words, in writing.

Nick: Oh, a card.

Bridget: Mm-hmm.

Nick: Okay. To Bridget -- Love, Nick.

Jackie: Go ahead, Stephanie, condemn me. But you don't know what's in my heart or my soul.

Stephanie: I always found that actions speak louder than words. First, there was the lying about R.J.'s paternity, and then committing adultery with Deacon.

Jackie: Oh, you've never made a mistake, I suppose, or gone too far to do what you thought was the right thing for your child?

Stephanie: The right thing for your child? What have you done this past year that have been in Nick's best interests? The fact that you can stand there and still rationalize your behavior indicates to me that you have not changed one iota.

Jackie: Well, then it's a good thing that I don't have to prove myself to you, isn't it?

Stephanie: Oh, but you do. I am Massimo's oldest and dearest friend. He trusts me. And he listens to me.

Jackie: Then what am I doing here, hmm?

Stephanie: Funny, that's what I was just asking myself. He says it's because you're the mother of his son. Now, exactly how far do you think that's going to take you?

Jackie: Okay, enough. All right? Enough.

Stephanie: Enjoy your dinner. Because if I have my way, and I probably will, this is the last time you'll have a chance to play lady of the manor.

Bridget: "Love, Nick," huh? I'm sorry. I don't want to make this a heavy moment. You know, you've worked so hard to lighten me up.

Nick: "Lighten you up"? That's not too tough, you know, 'cause you're sort of like a lighthouse. Come on, you are. Ever notice the way people look at you when we're together, when we're out? You know there's a smile on their face. You just do that. You bring that out. And believe me, they're not grinning at me.

Bridget: Oh, don't be so sure. You have your own way of making people very, very happy.

Nick: Well, there's only one person I'm concerned about making very happy.

Bridget: You're doing it. And so effortlessly.

Nick: You know, this has never really been easy for me. I've always been the guy who just sort of sails away for months and then kind of drifts back over the horizon. But the thought of doing that again, it scares the hell out of me, Bridget. Because I'd feel lonely. And I've never felt lonely before. I'd feel lonely because of you. Because I know that I'd miss you, and I know that I would want you waiting at the edge of the ocean when I came back. Are those happy tears?

Bridget: I would wait for you, Nick. I would. This is all so wonderful. You've just whisked me away on this incredible date and -- oh, this necklace. And those amazing Buffalo wings.

[ Nick laughs ] You've given me so much of yourself. I feel so lucky to have found you. But um --

Nick: But what?

Bridget: I've been, um -- I've just been let down so many times before. You know, Deacon and -- and Ridge. I -- yeah. And now I find myself falling for another man that has feelings for my mom.

Nick: Hey, hey. Wait a minute. Hey, I'm the one here holding you. I'm the one touching you right now. Now you know how special you are in my life. You are the special person in my life.

Bridget: But I just can't take another disappointment. I can't -- I can't lose another man to my mother.

Nick: No. Hey, hey. I know. I know.

Bridget: You were engaged to her, you know. I can't change that. She was the love of your life, you know? I --

Nick: She was. Was.

Bridget: Well, I can accept that. I just need to know that -- that I would come first now. And this isn't an illusion, and I'm not something to ease your pain over my mother.

Nick: Bridget, this is no illusion. What we have here is real. I want to be yours.

Bridget: Because -- because my mom is married to Ridge? What if she was free? What would you do then? How would you be able to protect her without hurting me? I just -- I feel like I'm on the edge of a cliff right now. I don't know if I should be afraid or exhilarated. I really want to fall, but I need to know that you would catch me and cradle me. And I will wait at the edge of that ocean, but every time you leave, I need to know that you will come back for me. I understand if you can't promise me that. I get it. But I just need you to really be honest with me.

Nick: I'd never lie to you.

Bridget: And I need to know that you care for me more than anyone else. Especially my mother.
