Eric: Emma, hello. Ladies, let's add some beading under the bust here, please.

Samantha: Complements the clusters at the shoulders.

Eric: Yes, let's do that.

Caitlin: I was going to do that. But I wasn't sure.

Eric: Well, trust your instincts. Okay? Okay. What's up? Everything all right?

Thomas: Hey, everything's good. Oh, is grandma coming yet? I haven't seen her.

Eric: No, she's not. She's visiting her sister in Chicago.

Thomas: That's right. I forgot about that.

Hector: Well, is there anything I can do to help?

Eric: Hector, hi. No, I don't think so. I think everything is under control.

Hector: Good luck.

Eric: Thank you.

Megan: Eric --

Eric: What?

Megan: We got a problem.

Eric: What is it?

Megan: Well, there are more reporters coming than were invited.

Eric: Well, obviously word has gotten out.

Megan: Yeah, well, what do you want me to do?

Eric: Well, we have to accommodate them. We can't afford to offend anybody with the stakes this high. Okay.

[ Phone rings ]

Eric: Yeah, hello?

Ridge: Dad, is it true what Brooke told me?

Eric: Yes, we're getting ready for the challenge as we speak.

Ridge: Why didn't you let me know this? I wouldn't have planned to make this trip to Big Bear if I had known you would have needed me.

Eric: Ridge, don't you worry about it. This is my battle to win.

Ridge: Are you ready?

Eric: It's not my best collection. And how could it be without you here?

Ridge: You don't need my help to beat Spectra.

Eric: No I don't. But I do need you and Thorne back here at Forrester. Family's my inspiration, Ridge. And I'll be damned if I lose it to Sally Spectra.

**************************************************

Darla: Gift bags, huh?

Sally: Yes, for the press.

Darla: Sally, what have you done? What's in here? Ah, Spectra Couture key chain, t-shirt, cd -- "Mustang Sally," "We are the champions"? What is this?

Sally: Well, what do you think? Those are great songs.

Darla: I guess it's innocent enough. Hey, but this isn't. What is this? Cash?

Sally: Darla, it's just a little gift -- $500 for the press. Something for their trouble, you know.

Darla: $500? Sally, I think you went a little too far this time.

Sally: Party pooper.

***************************************************

Nick: Oh, nice digs.

Bridget: Do I detect a hint of enthusiasm?

Nick: Maybe a hint.

Bridget: See, I told you you would like it.

Nick: As long as we stick to the slopes, if you know what I mean.

Bridget: You can't avoid my family the whole time.

Nick: Make sure you leave those to defrost for when I'm ready to grill later.

Bridget: I had no idea you cooked.

Nick: Well, it's one of my many hidden talents.

Bridget: Like your so-called "skiing prowess"?

Nick: Well, there's only one way to find out, kid. Come on, let's hit the slopes.

Bridget: Okay.

****************************************************************

Clarke: There it is. Oh! Did you sleep here last night? Oh, don't tell me. You had a talk with Ridge.

Amber: I was trying to do some damage control.

Clarke: Well, it looks like you made matters worse.

Amber: I didn't. Ridge did. He convinced Thomas that I was out to get the family.

Clarke: How did Thomas react?

Amber: He broke up with me.

Clarke: Oh, baby, I'm sorry.

Amber: I know. And then, just to add insult to injury, Ridge just totally rubbed it in. He was telling me that I wasn't good enough for Thomas, I was never going to be good enough for him and that I was just a big, fat loser.

Clarke: Ridge does have a way with words.

Amber: He thinks he can just push everyone around and get away with it. But not me. This time, Ridge has met his match.

*************************************************************************

Sally: All right. Now, you know exactly what you are supposed to do, right, ladies?

Misty: Cheer spectra to victory!

Cheerleader #1: Yeah!

Cheerleader #2: I'm so excited!

Cheerleader #3: Go Spectra!

Sally: Shh, shh! Please, down, girls. Please. Show a little sophistication. You're supposed to be reporters.

Misty: So exactly how important is this competition, Ms. Spectra? Are we talking, like, preseason game or --

Sally: No, no, honey. We are talking championship game.

Misty: Whoa. This is serious business.

Sally: Very serious, very serious. It sure is.

******************************************************

Darla: Okay, ladies, here is our latest rundown. Please check that for any changes.

Thorne: Really, you look amazing.

Darla: So, how you doing?

Thorne: Well, the designs are really coming together.

Darla: Actually, honey, I was talking about you. Are you ready to accept the outcome of this showdown today? Whatever that may be?

Thorne: Mm-hmm. I don't have a choice, do I?

Darla: Yeah, it just makes me a little nervous knowing that on this one show.

Thorne: Well, I made the bet with dad. If I win, he buys my Forrester Creations stock back and I become Sally's partner. If dad wins --

Darla: If your father wins, you lose everything you've worked so hard for at Spectra.

Thorne: Can't turn back now though.

**********************************************

Brooke: Thank you.

Thomas: Spectra won't know what hit 'em.

Caitlin: Don't let Amber hear you talking like that.

Thomas: Actually, Amber and I have cooled things off a little bit.

Brooke: Thomas, can you come over here please?

Thomas: Um -- I'll be right back.

*****************************************************************

Amber: God, it makes me so mad.

Clarke: But that's Ridge.

Amber: See that's it, right there -- that's what I don't get -- the way people just dismiss his behavior because he's Ridge. You know me? I want justice.

Clarke: What do you mean?

Amber: Ridge took Thomas from me, it's only fair to take what's most precious to him.

Clarke: Brooke? Dream on, kid. Brooke has waited her whole life to be with Ridge. There is nothing you could do that could break them up now.

Amber: Maybe not. But Ridge can and he will. I just need to be there when it happens.

Clarke: The way you're talking, it sounds like there's another woman involved. Oh, no way. So who is she? Who?

Amber: The same person who split them up last time.

Clarke: Bridget? Look, I know how badly you want to bring down Ridge, but there is no way that Ridge is going to hook up with his wife's daughter and risk everything that he has.

Amber: We'll see about that.

Clarke: Where are you going?

Amber: Big Bear.

Clarke: But the big fashion showdown?

Amber: Oh, you guys will kick butt without me. Plus, I have a project that needs my attention A.S.A.P.

Clarke: What are you up to?

[ Phone rings ] It's Clarke here. Yeah, Sal. No, I'm on my way down. Amber

***********************************************************

Bridget: You can just leave them right out there. I'm all wet.

Nick: Oh, that was great. Nice to be with the best looking girl on the slopes.

Bridget: Oh, right, yeah. Oh, my god.

Nick: Who the hell did this?

[ Bridget scoffs ]

Bridget: Hercules! Come here, boy. Come here, come here. You are a naughty boy. Look at that.

***********************************************************************

[ Crowd chattering ]

Sally: Well, you are obviously the most influential man in the fashion world today.

Jarrett: Sally, you weren't always my biggest fan.

Sally: A lot of things have changed.

Jarrett: Especially Spectra, from what I've seen.

Sally: You ain't seen nothing yet, honey.

Jarrett: Sally --

Sally: What?

Jarrett: Must we go through this every time?

Sally: All right, but I thought you might have wised up by now.

Jarrett: And I thought you'd be more confident by now, since you have Thorne Forrester on your team. Obviously though, you still have doubts about your line.

Sally: That is absolutely untrue. It is our best one yet.

Jarrett: I'll be the judge of that.

*****************************************************************

Eric: Megan, I have an assignment for you. All right, I want you on Sally watch. Any suspicious people out there, any loose threads, you come to me.

Megan: You got it. I'm on it.

Eric: Right.

Brooke: You really think Sally's gonna try and pull a fast one?

Eric: Of course she will. I think she would do anything to keep Thorne over there at Spectra.

Brooke: You can't blame her. He's turned her whole company around.

Eric: Yes, he did. And I'm very proud of what he's accomplished over there.

Brooke: But now it's time for Thorne and Ridge to come home to Forrester. I can call Ridge and see if he could still stop by.

Eric: No, no, no. That's all right. He should enjoy his vacation while he can. He's gonna be back here working with me soon enough.

************************************************************

Bridget: I mean, come on, Nick. Look at that face.

Nick: Pretty cute.

Bridget: I told you you couldn't resist him.

Nick: I wasn't really talking about the dog.

Bridget: Hercules belongs to our neighbor next door.

Nick: So I'm a sucker for dogs. They're loyal, devoted --

Bridget: And they love you unconditionally.

Nick: If only we could find enough people like that. Better take him home before he winds up on a milk carton. Where's he live?

Bridget: He lives in the stone house right next door.

Nick: All right, come on, boy. Come on, let's go home. Show me the way.

Ridge: I'm not interrupting something, am I?

*************************************************************************

Realtor: This is probably the best rental available right now. All the L.A. Folks come up to Big Bear this time of year.

Amber: What a gorgeous view.

Realtor: Oh, yeah. You can see the slopes over here. And over there, is Eric Forrester's estate.

Amber: Who?

Realtor: The fashion mogul?

Amber: Interesting.

Realtor: I can also show you a condo closer to the lake --

Amber: No, no. No need. I'll take this place.

Realtor: Excellent. Let me just get the rental paperwork. Do you want to set your things down?

Amber: No! No, thanks. I'm good.

[ Amber sighs ] It'll all be good.

***********************************************************

Bridget: Interrupting? What are you talking about?

Ridge: As I was walking up here, I saw Nick.

Bridget: Oh, yeah. I invited him.

Ridge: Gathered that much.

Bridget: It was kind of a last-minute thing. I hope you don't mind.

Ridge: So you guys are getting close, huh?

Bridget: We're just friends.

Ridge: Hmm. It's getting kinda rowdy in here, huh?

Bridget: Oh, oh, no. Hercules paid us another visit.

Ridge: That dog raided the food in this cabin for years.

Bridget: I know. I was gonna go catch the last bit of the sunset before it goes down. You wanna come?

Ridge: Sure.

Bridget: Thanks.

Ridge: You and Nick have been spending a lot of time together.

Bridget: Oh, I guess.

Ridge: Sure you're just friends?

Bridget: Yes. We just enjoy each other's company, that's all.

Ridge: Yeah, nothing's that simple with Nick.

Bridget: Ridge, please.

Ridge: He's just more complicated than he seems, Bridget.

Bridget: You know, that's part of what I like about him.

Ridge: Well, I suppose some women have fallen for that crusty, old sailor routine he likes to do.

Bridget: What's so wrong with that?

Ridge: Well, he hasn't exactly settled down with any of them, has he?

Bridget: Well, who says I'm looking to settle down?

Amber: They are making this way too easy.

Bridget: Weren't you the one that said I should get out there and date?

Ridge: Aha! So you are dating Nick.

Bridget: Oh, Ridge, come on. Let it go.

Ridge: Look, all I'm saying is just take it slow, okay?

Amber: Look at him. He can't take his hands off her. You're laying all the groundwork, Ridge. Won't take much to blow your world apart.

*************************************************************

Sally: Eric, wait a minute.

Eric: I just want to say hello to Thorne.

Sally: Know. And I want you to know that that young man has been a godsend to me and my company. He's a terribly important part of the Spectra family now.

Eric: Sally, Thorne is a part of me. You must know what that feels like. You have to know how hard I'm gonna fight to get him back at Forrester.

Thorne: You look amazing. See Michele. You ready?

Eric: Yes, I am. Of course I am. I cannot wish you the best of luck today. But I do appreciate your willingness to settle this thing on the runway.

Thorne: You know, a lot of people would say I'm in a win/win situation. Either I become an owner of Spectra or an executive at Forrester.

Eric: What would you say?

Thorne: I would say I still have a ways to go to prove myself.

Eric: You wouldn't feel that way if I hadn't pushed you out of the company.

Thorne: Could've been just the push I needed.

Eric: Spectra has been good for you, gave you a chance to spread your wings, make a name for yourself, but you've outgrown them, Thorne. I can help you take your talent to the next level.

Thorne: You saying that I need you?

Eric: I'm saying that we need each other. Well, we'll have a chance to work together again at Forrester, after I earn that right here today.

****************************************************

[ Applause ]

[ Scattered cheers ]

Sally: Now, you have all heard the buzz. And you know what's at stake today. Same rules as before. You, the press and the critics, will determine the winner with applause. So I wanna hear a lot of applause.

[ Laughter ] I've worked my whole life in the rag trade, and now the future of my company and my very existence is resting in your hands. If you don't want to do it for me, then do it for the sake of fashion. Because, as you're about to see, Spectra Couture's designs -- sizzle!

[ Cheers and applause ]

Darla: The show's starting already?

Thorne: Sounds that way, doesn't it?

Darla: Oh, god.

Thorne: What?

Darla: Our whole future is riding on this show, Thorne.

Thorne: Honey, I wouldn't have challenged dad if I didn't think we could win.

Darla: Nobody's ever beaten him before.

Thorne: You really want to stay at Spectra, don't you?

Darla: I'm sure you have feel a lot of loyalty toward your family's business, and you should, but Spectra's been good to you, as it has been to me. You know, ever since you started working there, you jump out of bed in the morning; you're excited to go to work. Because you're proud of what we're doing there. You know, I don't think it's so much the designs, its its the way the Spectra team works together -- you know, never against each other. I just can't imagine losing all of that.

Thorne: Maybe we won't have to.

Darla: Sweetie, don't get me wrong, okay? I think your designs are amazing. But do you really think they are amazing enough to keep us at Spectra?

Thorne: We're about to find out.
