Stephanie: Are those the latest sales reports?

Eric: Yeah, holding steady.

Stephanie: And spectra?

Eric: Still climbing. Sally must be doing an Irish jig over there, in spite of that bum leg of hers. But I'm not cursing under my breath, and I'm not pulling my hair out.

Stephanie: Well, that's because of what Ridge told you last night.

Eric: Oh, god, I still can't believe it happened. Ridge was finally able to swallow his pride and go to his brother and say to Thorne what he has wanted to hear for so long. Including, "Come back to Forrester." Finally, this company is going to be what it was intended to be in the first place -- a family-run business.

Thorne: You ready to do this?

Darla: Absolutely. Hey, hey, hey -- you know we made the right decision.

Thorne: Okay, then. Let's break the news.

Darla: Let's do it.

[ Knocking on door ]

Sally: Whoever it is, come on in and bring some decent champagne! Ah, perfect timing. The celebration was just getting under way.

Darla: Celebration?

Thorne: What's going on?

Clarke: It's the latest sales figures. Read 'em and reap.

Sally: Can you two spell "profit"? And I'm not talking about the kind that walks on water. We have done it again. Another week, another increase.

Thorne: These are good numbers.

Sally: Good? What are you talking about? It's an out-and-out trend.

Clarke: Aren't you glad Sally made you that offer now?

Sally: It just proves what a great team we are. That's all. There's no heights we cannot reach. Not now. You want to achieve your god-given destiny? This is the right place to do it. You're gonna have fame. You're gonna have fortune. You're gonna have a family, too. And I mean a real family. One that will give you our undying respect.

Darla: Sal, Sal, Sally -- can the sales pitch, really.

Thorne: Darla's right, Sally. I've already made up my mind.

Sally: Well? Go ahead. Out with it.

Heather: I think you're going to like this.

Deacon: Look, I'm trying to concentrate here, Heather.

Heather: I'm sorry. It's just you asked to see our revenues.

Deacon: Yeah. I'm sorry. I, um -- thank you. I know.

Heather: Why don't I take my break now?

Deacon: Yeah. That'd be a good idea. Thanks.

Jackie: My goodness. Are sales that bad?

Deacon: Jackie, I'm sorry. No. No, honey, everything's fine. Just, um --

Jackie: Deacon -- your hand is shaking.

Deacon: And they say that it never gets cold in sunny California, huh?

Jackie: It's happening again, isn't it? You want a drink.

Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, I want one real bad. But I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to -- I'm such a mess. And my life was such a mess, Jackie. I can't do it. I just -- I can't do it. Can't do it.

Massimo: Right on time. Any troubles slipping out?

Heather: Deacon was only too glad to see me go.

Massimo: Getting irritable, is he?

Heather: His cravings are driving him up the wall.

Massimo: It's all coming together.

Sally: All right, Thorne -- we're all ready. Are you in, or are you out?

Thorne: When I proposed a partnership to you, Sally, I never imagined that I would have to buy into it. I mean, after all, I helped put you on the map.

Sally: Yeah, well, I thought you understood that I --

Thorne: -- That you didn't want to give up half of this place. I accept that. You put your life's blood into this place, and you want to be compensated for it. But $50 million? It would mean selling my interest in Forrester Creations. And that is a huge sacrifice.

Sally: Well, you know, I was kind of afraid you were going to say that.

Thorne: I gave it a lot of consideration, Sally.

Sally: Well, of course you did.

Thorne: And I have finally decided that, um -- I'm prepared to make that sacrifice. Put 'er there, partner.

Sally: Oh! Hallelujah!

Clarke: All right!

Sally: Oh! Oh, you know what? I knew he couldn't resist my charms.

Clarke: That a boy.

Sally: I promise you, you are never going to regret this. I am going to see to it that you sextuple your investment!

Thorne: Sextuple, huh? I like the sound of that.

Darla: Woo, that sounds good to me.

Sally: But even more importantly -- I know -- I'm going to promise you that you will always have a home here. You and my darling Darla and your beautiful child. I understand just how much you're going to be giving up to make this a permanent relationship, and I intend to honor your faith in me, in this company, in yourself. You are worth any risk, honey. You have got what it takes, and I am so thrilled you finally realize it!

Thorne: Sally, it's because of you that I do. All of you. You guys made me believe in myself. And that is a -- that's a gift that money can't buy. I love you guys for that.

Sally: Oh, I love you, too. I love you, too, you gorgeous thing! Now -- what do you say, everybody? Let's get off our duffs and get back to making some of that magic, hmm? Everybody, attention, everybody!

Thorne: Sally, Sally, Sally --

Sally: Now, hear this! I want to --

Thorne: Before you do that --

Darla: Thorne hasn't told his parents yet.

Thorne: I'm heading over there now, so just hold off until I give you the go-ahead, okay?

Sally: Oh, oh. Yeah, sure. Sure. Sure thing, honey. But just remember one thing -- we are going to be cheering you on.

Thorne: Okay. Thank you.

Darla: Good luck, sweetie.

Thorne: Okay.

Darla: Okay.

Sally: It's going to be tough on him, isn't it?

Darla: Yeah.

Clarke: You don't think he's going to back down, do you?

Darla: No. No. We're his home now. We're his family.

Heather: I know you're confident, but Deacon is doing his damnedest to resist. He still hasn't touched a drop of alcohol.

Massimo: Hmm. He's a ticking time-bomb. Every second that passes is a second that he's closer to self-destructing.

Jackie: Here, drink this. It's just water.

Deacon: Jackie, I don't really think that's going to help.

Jackie: Then try to take some deep breaths. Try to clear your mind.

Deacon: I can't. I can't. He won't let me!

Jackie: Who won't?

Deacon: Him. That lowlife I've got living inside of me.

Jackie: Deacon, you're panicking. Okay? You're panicking, and there's no need to. You are stronger than that. You're stronger than him.

Deacon: He said, "just take one drink. One drink -- what's that going to hurt? Who's it going to hurt?" You know what? I know who it's going hurt -- it's going to hurt you. It's going to hurt my kids. Jackie, what the hell is happening to me?

Eric: We're going to have to create some space for Thorne up here on the executive level. I'm going to design an office for him like he's never seen before.

Stephanie: You're getting ahead of yourself, Eric. He hasn't given anyone an answer yet.

Eric: Well, he has to discuss it with Darla, and, of course, there's Sally to deal with.

Stephanie: And either one of them could throw a monkey wrench into this.

Eric: Look, he does not belong over there at Spectra, and he knows it. Stephanie, he's coming home.

Stephanie: Well, if he does, I'll do an Irish jig. How's that?

[ Intercom buzzes ]

Eric: Yes, Megan? Good, good. We were just talking about him. Yeah, send him in. Well, put on your dancing shoes.

Thorne: Mom, Dad, hey --

Stephanie: Sweetheart, what a nice surprise.

Eric: So? Tell us, Thorne -- tell us you're coming back.

Jackie: What's your sponsor's number?

Deacon: What are you doing?

Jackie: I'm going to call him. I'm going to take you to an AA meeting.

Deacon: No, no, no. No. No.

Jackie: Deacon, I have to. I can't just stand --

Deacon: Baby, listen to me, you -- you've got that -- that interview to do on the fashion channel this afternoon.

Jackie: I'm going to cancel that. I can't --

Deacon: No, you're not canceling anything. Jackie, please -- listen.

Jackie: -- When I'm worried sick about you?

Deacon: I will get myself to the AA meeting. And I will call my sponsor, I promise. But I got to tell you what's going to really make me feel good is just knowing that I haven't screwed up your career. So, please, just go.

Jackie: You'll call me if --

Deacon: Yes. If, but it won't happen. It's cool. You go knock 'em dead, okay? Go, baby.

Jackie: Okay.

Jackie: Susan, I'm leaving for the day. Would you do me a favor and just keep an eye on Deacon?

Susan: Oh, no problem. Have a good one.

Jackie: Thanks.

Massimo: That, uh -- other matter I mentioned to you, did you take care of it?

Heather: Ah, the fully stocked bar? It's ready for the customers and for Deacon.

Sally: Clarke, I want you to muster up the troops. Tell them to be in my office at 1500 hours. Oh, and get a hold of that party planner to the stars. You know the one I mean. And tell him to get over here pronto!

Clarke: Yes, ma'am, general, sir!

[ Darla chuckles ]

Sally: Yes, sir, let's go!

Darla: This is so sweet of you, Sally, to go all out for Thorne like this.

Sally: Oh, darling, it is what any mother would do for her children.

Darla: Oh, well, you have already done so much. You know something?

Sally: What?

Darla: You and Thorne are going to make a great team.

Sally: You think so?

Darla: Come here.

Sally: Yes.

Thorne: I see you've been talking to Ridge.

Stephanie: Yes, he called us.

Eric: Your mother and I are so happy to hear what's happened. That the two of you have been able to settle your differences. Thorne, this is the company that you were born to lead. You and Ridge and me. Just look what happened with Sally. As much as she boasts about you being one of her own, in the end, she was willing to exploit you.

Thorne: I spoke to her about that. Using the Forrester name without compensating me fairly.

Stephanie: What'd she say, honey?

Thorne: She didn't deny it.

Eric: Well, at least she gave you that.

Thorne: Listen, about that --

Eric: Look, Thorne, don't start pulling some kind of a guilt trip on yourself now. Yes, Sally admitted that she was wrong, and, yes, Sally gave you your first big break. But -- but, Thorne, you've given her so much back in return. You've given her her whole future. You don't have to feel bad about leaving.

Thorne: I'm not leaving. I'm staying at Spectra.

Stephanie: You're staying at Spectra?

Thorne: Yes, I am.

Eric: Why, Thorne? You just said that Sally admitted to undervaluing you.

Thorne: Well, you didn't let me finish my sentence, Dad.

Stephanie: She made you a new offer?

Thorne: One that we're both satisfied with.

Eric: How much is she paying you?

Thorne: She's not. I'm paying her.

Eric: You're paying her?!

Thorne: $50 million.

Eric: Are you out of your mind? $50 million for what?

Thorne: For half ownership of Spectra Couture. And don't bother telling me that I'm being taken for a ride, because that's not the case, dad. This is a good deal.

Eric: Well, whether it's a good deal or not, you don't have the capital to make that happen.

Thorne: Not in hand, but I can get it.

Eric: What, a loan? Against Spectra? Who's going to give you that?

Thorne: No one.

Stephanie: You're going to sell your interest in Forrester, aren't you?

Thorne: Yes. That and, along with my holdings, will cover what I owe Sally.

Eric: Do you realize what that means?

Thorne: Yeah. I'll be cutting off all ties with the family business.

Eric: Is that what you want?

Thorne: Dad, what I want is to finish what I started. I want to see my blood, my sweat, my tears transform an also-ran into a winner.

Stephanie: Honey, you've already proven that you're a winner. We all hear now -- we all understand what you're capable of.

Thorne: And I'm glad that I finally got to show you that, Mother. That's not enough for me anymore. I have a chance to really soar.

Eric: Thorne, you -- you can do that here.

Thorne: Dad, I'll be right back where I started. Just one of the shareholders. A voice among many just trying to be heard. As a co-owner of Spectra, what I say, goes.

Stephanie: If Sally agrees.

Thorne: Well, she's given me free rein so far.

Eric: That's because these are good times. You turn in a couple of bad quarters, and Sally'll turn on you, Thorne.

Thorne: I trust her, Dad.

Stephanie: And you don't trust anyone here in your family? Well, that's our fault, isn't it? We made a lot of mistakes where you were concerned. But, honey -- I mean, now that we understand, we've given you all of our love and all of our support.

Thorne: I know, Mother, and I'm grateful for that. I am. But I have a vision of what I can create and do with Spectra.

Eric: Thorne, I had a vision, too. A vision of creating a place where we could all be together, where we could all help one another, where we could protect each other, even when the world is falling -- falling apart all around us. A place where we could have disagreements one minute and be slapping each other on the back in the next. God, think of it, Thorne! All of us. All of us together under one roof. Bonding in a way that families just can't when they're -- when they've just been blown to the wind, the way most families are these days. My god, Thorne, you say you want to fly? You want to soar? What could be more uplifting than that? Here we are. Don't go, son.

Deacon: Like this is going to help. Where the hell's the coffee? How the hell did this get here?

Massimo: Three -- two -- one. Mission accomplished.
