Ridge: What the hell is this?

Brooke: That's what I'd like to know. Tell me, ridge. Tell me! What were you doing with Bridget?

Bridget: Nick, where are your manners? Aren't you going to say hello to your date?

Nick: Hi there, I'm -- Sasha?

Chauffer: Yes, that's her name.

Nick: Right, right, Sasha hi there, I'm Nick. It's a pleasure to meet you.

Chauffer: I'm the chauffeur. She's pleased to meet you, too.

Bridget: See, look. I knew you two would get along.

Stephanie: I'm sorry, but I think you're perfect for one another.

Bridget: They are. The minute I met Sasha, I thought of Nick. She eats with her hands, too.

Nick: I'm touched. How thoughtful of you.

Bridget: Thank you for bringing her over.

Nick: Wait a minute. What are you taking about? You know, you can't play with a woman's heart like this. Especially now that she's met me. Hello, Sasha. Would you like to go down to the pool and maybe get to know one another. All right, hold it. She's thinking about it.

[ Laughter ] good. All right. I hope you brought your bikini.

[ Harmonica plays ]

Clarke: Sal, what's going on? I've been waiting for amber's designs.

Darla: She's not here, Clarke.

Clarke: She's not? Didn't you have a meeting here?

Sally: She skipped it.

Clarke: What for? We have a collection to put together here.

Sally: She is trying to hold Ridge Forrester's marriage together.

Clarke: What?

Sally: According to Darla here, Amber is staging some kind of marital intervention at the palace a la Forrester.

Clarke: What for?

Darla: She's going to prove to Brooke that Ridge is trapped in some downward spiral.

Clarke: She doesn't need any proof. I mean, Ridge has been acting out for months.

Darla: Yeah, well, she doesn't see it. Maybe she doesn't want to.

Sally: Well, apparently, Amber found some information that Brooke cannot ignore.

Ridge: Brooke, come on. I can understand why you'd be upset based on this picture. But it's not the way it looks.

Brooke: You're touching her, Ridge. And look at the way you're looking at her. I know that look. That's how you look at me.

Ridge: Brooke, I wasn't coming on to your daughter.

Brooke: Well, then what are you doing? Could you please explain? I mean, it looks like your hands are all over her and you're about to kiss.

Ridge: No, we didn't! We would never do that.

Brooke: Ridge, it happened before.

Ridge: Nothing happened, Brooke. Nothing's going to happen between Bridget and me.

Brooke: That's what I thought last time. But it did happen, Ridge. It did. And now it's happening again.

Stephanie: I'll say one thing for your daughter, she has a unique sense of humor.

Eric: Well, fortunately, I'm not the only person who appreciates it.

Stephanie: I know, Nick's been a very good sport about this.

Eric: He definitely brings out the devil in Bridget,

Stephanie: I hope he doesn't bring out the devil in Sasha.

Nick: Sasha, let's show Bridget how we really feel about each other.

[ "Loving you" by Minnie Ripperton plays ]

loving you is easy 'cause you're beautiful making love with you is all I wanna do

Bridget: So cute!

Loving you is more than just a dream come true

and everything that I do is out of loving you

la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la

doot doot do do

[ high note ]

no one else can make me feel the colors that you bring

stay with me while we grow old and we will live each day in springtime

'cause loving you has made my life so beautiful and every day of my life is filled with loving you

la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la

Bridget: You are so crazy.

Doot doot do do

Clarke: Well, there's no doubt. Ridge is out of control. But I just don't know what Amber thinks she can do about it.

Sally: I don't know about that. I think amber's a pretty smart cookie. I don't think she'd go over there armed with nothing. Wouldn't it be something if she was able to take the great Ridge Forrester down a peg or two.

Darla: I don't think she wants to hurt Ridge or his family. I really think she wants to be a part of them.

Sally: Oh, Darla, that's impossible. Impossible! Not even if she went over there armed with a bag of pixie dust and some magic beans -- not as long as Ridge has a breath left in his body.

Ridge: You did this.

Amber: I did it for you. For your family.

Ridge: Look at Brooke. Does she look grateful? Do I? Brooke, please listen to me. Nothing is happening with Bridget and me.

Brooke: Don't keep saying that.

Ridge: Why not? I'm telling you the truth here.

Brooke: You told me you would leave her alone, Ridge. You promised me that.

Ridge: I haven't broken that promise, Brooke.

Brooke: You've crossed the line before.

Ridge: That was totally in the past now.

Brooke: And I forgave you. And so did she. But she's not past it, Ridge. And neither are you.

Ridge: Yes, yes, I am. And so is she. That's exactly what we were talking about when she took that damn picture.

Brooke: You were just talking here? That's what you want me to believe?

Ridge: Yes. If you'd just give me a chance to explain.

Brooke: Please. Please explain this to me, ridge. After all of our conversations, and after I warned you. After I told you that Bridget is very fragile right now and she's very confused about you. This is what you do? This is how you protect her?

Ridge: She was happy, Brooke. She had spent the evening with Nick. They had had a great time. She hasn't felt this good in so long that I was happy for her. I had no idea I was being spied on.

Amber: You just didn't think you'd get caught.

Ridge: Who the hell do you think you are coming over here and causing trouble for my family? It wasn't bad enough you tried to seduce my son? Now you're trying to drive a wedge between my wife and me. Well, it's not going to work, Amber. I don't care what you think you saw. Brooke knows I would never, ever do anything to hurt Bridget or jeopardize our relationship.

Amber: But you did. And Brooke knows that you could do it again.

Ridge: No, I won't.

Amber: Maybe it already has. You know, I took that picture and left. I didn't wait around to see what happened next.

Stephanie: I think she likes him.

Eric: What's not to like? Nick has been perfectly charming to Bridget.

Stephanie: I was talking about the monkey.

Eric: Oh.

[ Eric laughs ] I'm just glad to see Bridget laughing again.

Stephanie: So am I. I want her to be happy as much as you do. And I guess if spending time with Nick makes her happy, then we should be all for it.

Nick: Sasha, I hope you had as much fun as I did. I'll never forget it. Bye.

Bridget: Thank you, Sasha. Bye.

Nick: Bye. I think she liked me. I mean, I thought we had a little chemistry going there.

Bridget: Oh, undeniably.

Nick: Yeah. You don't think that I came on too strong?

Bridget: No, no, I thought you two were perfect together. I knew you would be.

Nick: Because you know me so well, don't you? I fix you up with a doctor, and you fix me up with a monkey.

Bridget: An orangutan.

Nick: Whatever. You think you're pretty clever, don't you?

Bridget: A little.

Nick: Well, I hope you enjoyed getting a chuckle at my expense.

Bridget: Oh, actually, you were the one with the last laugh.

Nick: How's that?

Bridget: You took the joke, and you rolled with it. You didn't even blink. You really showed me what you were made out of. I was pretty impressed.

Ridge: What's gonna happen? I'll tell you what's gonna happen, amber. You're gonna leave my family alone.

Amber: I wasn't trying to cause trouble, okay? I was trying to stop it. I saw something, and I thought Brooke needed to know.

Ridge: What you saw was two people having a private conversation.

Amber: Two people who should be keeping their distance from each other. I overheard you and Stephanie talking. I knew what kind of threat this was to your marriage.

Ridge: Oh, so you just come over here with your little camera, trying to find little incriminating moments? Is that what you're doing?

Amber: I didn't try to trap you, Ridge, okay? You have been digging this hole yourself for a very, very long time, and it is getting deeper and darker every single day. And if somebody doesn't stop you, you are going to drag your whole family down there with you.

Ridge: What the hell are you talking about?

Amber: That -- that -- that look on your face, that arrogance. Now, I know you have always been a very confident guy, but lately, it has turned into something else. You are lashing out at everybody. At me, at Thorne, at Darla, at your own father! You are so angry.

Ridge: I have a right to be, Amber.

Amber: Oh, no, you don't. You don't. You have a great marriage. You have super kids. You have an incredible life. You have everything that you've always wanted, don't you?

Ridge: What I want is for you to get out of my house. Now.

Amber: You know, I was just trying to help, okay? Don't you see what you're doing? Don't you see what you could lose here?

Ridge: I'm not gonna lose my son. Not to you. And I'm not gonna let you poison the rest of the family either. So you just take your dirty little accusations and your pathetic attempt at revenge and get the hell out of my house! Get out of here! Brooke, you know how much I love you. And you know what this family means to me. Do you honestly think that i would just walk away from all of that? That I would just give it up?

Stephanie: Well, should we go inside?

Eric: Feeling a little sneaky, are you?

Stephanie: No, the monkey's gone, the fun's gone -- let them have some privacy.

Eric: You know, I'm gonna be thrilled when Bridget finally puts all this business with ridge behind her. Stephanie, you have to be patient. She needs a little more time to get her life together.

Stephanie: Oh, I agree. And I don't think anyone's suggesting that we push her into something. But you know, if she spends time with Nick, and it has a good effect, well, I think we should support that. It would be good for her.

Nick: I don't know if I heard you quite right. You said you were -- you were impressed?

Bridget: Yeah. You know, you can be a real gentleman when you want to be.

Nick: Thank you. It takes the right kind of lady to bring that out in me, though.

Bridget: You know, I should have known. A man of few words, of course you're more comfortable with a date that doesn't use any at all.

Nick: Ah -- oh, wait a minute. I think -- I think I hear my phone ringing. Excuse me. Hello? Sasha. Oh, hi, how are you? I didn't think I'd hear from you so -- a movie? Tonight? "King Kong"? Well, that sounds terrific. Maybe we might be able to catch a double feature, "Planet of the apes." I'll swing by around 8:00. How about that?

Bridget: Okay, I think you've made your point?

Nick: Have I?

Bridget: Yes, got it.

Nick: You've got to be available, because you never know when the right person may come around -- or orangutan.

Bridget: I'll keep that in mind.

Nick: Thanks for today.

Ridge: Brooke, I'm sorry. I know that picture must be a shock to you, and I don't blame you for being upset.

Brooke: What about Bridget? You're hurting her, Ridge. Every time you look at her, every time you touch her, you're hurting my daughter.

Ridge: Bridget is fine.

Brooke: She went all the way to Copenhagen to get away from these feelings.

Ridge: She's not running away anymore. She's home now.

Brooke: And now it's happening all over again.

Ridge: No, Brooke. No, it's not happening all over again.

Brooke: Ridge, she hasn't been able to start a life for herself since this happened with you. And you may just say it was a couple of kisses, but to her, it mattered, and it still does. And deep down, I think she still wants you.

Ridge: No, she doesn't.

Brooke: Yes, ridge, she admitted it. She told us. She wanted to come home to get help from us. And is this helping? Are you helping her? I warned you. I told you if you crossed the line, our marriage --

Ridge: Our marriage, Brooke, is fine. Our marriage is fine, and so is Bridget. Call her. Ask her, talk to her. She's doing so much better, Brooke. She was so excited talking to me about all of this. This decision for her to come back to L.A. Was the right decision for her. She is starting to move on.

Brooke: And then you touch her again.

Ridge: Brooke, that was an innocent little hug -- a quick little hug. That's all it was.

Brooke: No, Ridge, it was an intimate moment. Alone -- with a man that she's possibly in love with. I know how that feels. That's horrible. The guilt, the shame.

Ridge: Bridget has nothing to be ashamed of. If anyone should be ashamed, it's Amber. For bringing this pathetic attempt at a scandal into our family just to get back at me, because I won't accept her. She's trying to take her revenge on you now, Brooke. She knows what it will do to me to see you like this. I can't lose you. You and this family mean everything to me. Whatever you think, whatever Amber has told you, it's not true. This is not what it seems. If I've hurt you, if I've hurt Bridget, I am very, very sorry. But I've got to make you understand that this -- this is not what it seems to be. It's not what it looks like, Brooke. Please believe me, nothing happened -- nothing happened.
