Stephanie: Ridge, this is the happiest time in your life. You have a beautiful baby. You have a wife that you just adore, you love.

Ridge: I agree.

Stephanie: Then be smart about this. Then get Bridget out of the house before something happens that you'll both regret.

Nick: Bridget, Bridget, I can personally vouch for this guy. I give you my word. He's okay.

Bridget: I wasn't exactly looking for the Marone seal of approval.

Johnny: Probably weren't looking for a dinner date, either. Sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable.

Bridget: No, no, you didn't.

Johnny: Good, because I don't usually ask women out like this.

Bridget: You mean in such lavish surroundings?

Johnny: Right, this is Nick's taste, not mean.

Bridget: Yeah, I figured as much.

Johnny: What I'm trying to say is you probably find it strange considering that we just met.

Bridget: Not so strange, actually.

Johnny: And I really haven't had a chance to get out much since I got back to the states.

Nick: Neither has Bridget.

Johnny: I just thought it would be good to go out get acclimated again with some great company.

Bridget: That's very sweet but I'm afraid I haven't been such great company lately.

Nick: Maybe you're hanging out with the wrong crowd.

Johnny: You can't deny we have a lot in common. Maybe we can even find some more.

Bridget: Yeah, maybe.

Johnny: I know this great restaurant. It's perfect. It's in West Hollywood. The menu is almost identical to that, what's that trendy little place in downtown Copenhagen.

Bridget: Konrad's?

Johnny: Yes!

Bridget: They have the most incredible potato tortellini.

Johnny: Perfect, if you like that place, you're going to love this place.

Bridget: You think?

Johnny: I know.

Bridget: Sound pretty confident.

Johnny: How does this sound? The two of us swapping pulmonary lab stories eating potato tortellini.

Nick: Pull pulmonary lab stories?

Johnny: That bad, huh?

Nick: The worst.

Bridget: So what do you say, Bridget? Are we on for dinner?

Amber: It's ironic, isn't it?

Thomas: What?

Amber: Everyone's accusing me of being manipulative and I'm the only one who's not scheming around. First, Stephanie asks Rick to seduce me right out of your life. Then ridge, he asks me to dance just so you can have some time alone with Caitlin.

Thomas: Don't let them get to you. After all, they're the ones who look ridiculous when their little schemes fall flat. And they do, every time.

Amber: But it still hurts, Thomas. Every time. Especially when I thought we turned a corner at Christmas, when I got your family together. To think, I actually believed Ridge when he gave me credit. How stupid am I?

Thomas: You're not stupid, all right? Dad meant every word. I could tell.

Amber: Then why's he still pulling these stunts? You know, I could morph into mother Teresa right here, and he still wouldn't give me a chance.

Thomas: That's 'cause dad doesn't like me dating nuns, either.

Amber: I'm serious, Thomas. It doesn't matter what I do. Your dad is always going to see me through mud-stained glasses, which means he's not going to let up until I'm out of your life.

Ridge: Mother, will you give me some credit here? I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize my family.

Stephanie: Not intentionally.

Ridge: No, not at all. I'm in complete control of the situation.

Stephanie: And you believe that Bridget's going to be able to handle living back in the house with you and the children? She's having a hard time, isn't she? What's going on with Bridget?

Bridget: Thank you for the invitation.

Johnny: But --

Bridget: I'm sorry.

Johnny: No need to apologize. Right? Look, it is awfully short notice. Maybe we can do it another time.

Bridget: Yeah, yeah.

Johnny: Nick has my number if you want to give me a call. It was great meeting you, really.

Bridget: You, too, Johnny.

Johnny: Nick.

Nick: I'll call you next week.

Bridget: What?

Nick: Oh, I don't know. Most women in their right mind might consider him a catch, but you just throw him right back in the water like a minnow.

Bridget: If he's so great, why don't you go out with him?

Nick: Because I don't think I'm his type.

Bridget: No, you tricked me. You called me and said I'd have a really good time and I wound up in a really uncomfortable situation.

Nick: You mad at me?

Bridget: Yeah. But, I appreciate it.

Nick: You do?

Bridget: Yeah, it was really sweet of you to introduce me to him. It's just, oh, a setup isn't what I really need right now.

Thomas: So my dad's against our relationship. That's nothing new.

Amber: True. But it's getting old real quick.

Thomas: But he's just spinning his wheels. If anything, he's pushed us even closer together.

Amber: Except when he whisked me away on the dance floor.

Thomas: Which I told him was totally lame.

Amber: But he's chipping away, Thomas. Little by little.

Thomas: What do you mean?

Amber: How long can you continue defending me?

Thomas: Until he gets it through his thick skull.

Amber: But aren't you sick of fighting with your dad?

Thomas: Well, yes, but --

Amber: See? He's wearing you down. And he's probably working you in ways you don't even realize.

Thomas: My eyes are wide open.

Amber: So are mine. But he still tricked me, didn't he? I mean, you, you're just a kid -- um, a kid who really wants to do right by his parents.

Thomas: I'm not doing anything wrong. And I'm not naive. Don't forget, I am the one who saw right through dad's plan.

Amber: I just wish we didn't have to keep watching our backs like this. And wondering if everything has some kind of hidden agenda. It's enough to make a person paranoid.

Thomas: Thankfully, you're stronger than that.

Amber: I just wonder what he's so afraid of. At first, I could kind see why he would be a little suspicious, but we've been dating for months and I have a good job. I haven't taken a single penny from you. It's not like I turned on to drugs or sold you into a prostitution ring or something.

Thomas: Yet.

Amber: We're not even having sex.

Thomas: Don't remind me.

Amber: So why can't he cut me some slack? I know I've made mistakes.

Thomas: Mistakes which are in the past.

Amber: But ridge doesn't see it that way. To him, once a screw-up, always a screw-up. Hasn't he ever done anything that he's regretted? Has he ever made a mistake?

Ridge: Mother, just stop. Nothing's going on with Bridget. It's not like she came back to wreck my marriage?

Stephanie: Of course she didn't, honey, but she still has feelings for you.

Ridge: She's confused.

Stephanie: Whatever, the point is, this could all snowball.

Ridge: She needs our support right now, especially from her mother. That's why she's going to continue staying with me and Brooke.

Stephanie: Why don't you let her move back here with us? Her father would love that and Brooke could come and see her any time she wanted.

Ridge: Why do you keep making this an issue? You keep harping on it over and over.

Stephanie: If you think I'm harping on it, you don't think I'm handling it.

Ridge: I don't think you can handle this in the proper manner.

Stephanie: You didn't deny she's very alluring and you shared something with her, something very deep and very powerful. When your wife died. Honey, that doesn't just go away.

Ridge: I'm a married man now.

Stephanie: All the more reason not to temperature fate. Honey, just takes one moment, one look, one slip, and it could happen again.

Ridge: No, mother, it can't happen again.

Stephanie: But why even take the chance, Ridge? Are you really trying to help or are you trying to prove something? What are you trying to prove, that you cannot make the same mistake twice?

Nick: Just throw your line out there, you may hook something, maybe a keeper.

Bridget: Just so you know, fish analogiew totally lost on me.

Nick: So you haven't followed a word I said.

Bridget: Pretty much. Oh, geez.

Nick: I'm okay.

Bridget: Have you thought about getting a housecleaner, or maybe a boat cleaner?

Nick: Just so you know, any reference to cleaning goes pretty much over my head.

Bridget: Which is why this place smells like a zoo.

Nick: Ah, yes, the smell of bachelor life -- isn't it grand?

Bridget: Or not so grand.

Nick: It's a picture.

Bridget: Of you and my mom.

Nick: Well, don't you have pictures of you and your exes?

Bridget: Yeah, but they're tucked away in a box in the back of my closet. Nick, this is like, this is the only picture you even have out around here.

Nick: I've thrown it out a few times but it keeps floating back. Pretty much like everything else in this boat.

Bridget: That the only reason?

Nick: What would you like me to say Bridget, that that pictures represents my inability to move on from the past, my current emotional state of enissue yeah?

Bridget: Why do you do that? Why do you make light of your feelings?

Nick: Because that's the approach I choose to take.

Bridget: You've got to be angry. Don't you get frustrated?

Nick: About?

Bridget: About the fact that my mother has totally moved on and clearly you have not.

Nick: To answer your first question, I was angry. But that's past tense. Now, to answer your second question, which really wasn't a question at all, what makes you think that I haven't moved on? Circumstantial evidence. I need more than that.

Bridget: What about the fact that you haven't had a girlfriend since you broke up with mom.

Nick: Sure, I have.

Bridget: Felicia doesn't count.

Nick: Why not? We dated.

Bridget: For a nanosecond.

Nick: Let me get this straight. My relationships have to meet your criteria to register on the moving on scale? Hey, at least I put myself out there, which is more than you can say.

Bridget: Did it make you forget about my mom?

Nick: No, but it was a step in the right direction.

Thomas: You know my dad. If he has made mistakes, he's not exactly going to offer up that information.

Amber: I'm sure he has, though.

Thomas: You know, I always try to get him to tell me stories from his past, like when he started in fashion. But he just won't cough up any of the juicy stuff.

Amber: Oh, your dad was quite the playboy.

Thomas: So I've heard.

Amber: But then, you know, your mom, she really turned him around. Kind of like what she did for me.

Thomas: Yeah?

Amber: Yeah, but Ridge refuses to believe that I could actually change. I mean, it's so unfair.

Thomas: Hey, I'm not going to let him come between us, all right?

Amber: I know.

Thomas: But I don't want to have to put you in this position anymore. I just, I wish that there was some way that I could change his mind about us, about me, everything would be so perfect! Now, everyone has something in their life that they wish they could do over again. Even Ridge. Maybe he would sympathize with me. If I could just find out what that was.

Ridge: Mother, I don't have anything to prove.

Stephanie: No?

Ridge: Obviously, you don't believe me.

Stephanie: Honey, I'm just trying to protect you and Bridget, and not to mention, your wife.

Ridge: You're concerned about Brooke?

Stephanie: She told you if you ever touched Bridget again, she would leave you. Doesn't that tell you how seriously she takes the situation, just as I do?

Ridge: And I will tell you exactly what I told Brooke. I will never, ever cross that line with Bridget again. Do you understand?

Bridget: You were right.

Nick: About?

Bridget: About what you said, about how I could understand your pain so easily. Because I'd gone through it myself.

Nick: Mom hurt you pretty badly. Huh?

Bridget: Another time, another place, might have worked out. Well, mom and Ridge were just meant to be together.

Nick: God, do you sound like your mother's daughter.

Bridget: Well, they are, Nick.

Nick: Whatever. They have on a kid, they're happy, that's that.

Bridget: That's that? You can brush it off that easily?

Nick: Bridget, I lost a fiancÚ, a son and his mother all in one fell swoop. It wasn't a cakewalk.

Bridget: Now I feel pretty foolish. You're right, you lost a lot, and you're not dwelling on it. You're trying to get on with your life. But me, it's like I shared a couple of stupid kisses with ridge and my life is falling apart at the seams.

Nick: But they weren't stupid kisses to you, were they?

Bridget: No.

Nick: No. No, it was special, what you shared with Forrester, his kids, lived in his home. But now everything feels uncomfortable to you, anywhere you go. Sort of like you got a monkey on your back.

Bridget: It's called love, Nick.

Nick: Oh, is that what it is? All I know is that, when you got somebody on your mind, it's all you can think about. You try not to, but you just, you keep thinking about them all the time and you can't sleep.

Bridget: You can't escape.

Nick: Then a couple days go by, all of a sudden, you sleep a little bit and a few more days go by and you start to think about other things.

Bridget: So you're saying it just takes time.

Nick: I believe so. Believe me, I don't have all the answers, otherwise I wouldn't being sleeping alone on this smelly boat, as you call it. Here, I want to be honest with you about something. I don't like to see you in pain or upset, but it did make me feel like I wasn't alone.

Bridget: We're just two people who are hurt and realizing that you can't just bury your head in the sand and hope it goes away. You know, you can move to another country or move on to another person, but the pain is still there. Loving someone, it just doesn't love you back in that same way, and then having to pretend like everything's okay. It's just really hard.

Stephanie: Ridge.

Ridge: Mother, don't bring this up to Brooke anymore and please, don't bring it up to Bridget. You're just stirring up trouble where there isn't any.

Stephanie: I just don't understand why you don't understand. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Ridge: Nothing's going to happen, end of story!

Stephanie: By keeping Bridget under the same roof with you, you risk everything. I don't doubt for one second what Brooke said, she will take that baby, walk out of that house for good and no one would blame her.

Ridge: Don't you think I understand what's at stake here? I think back how my relationship with Bridget almost cost me Brooke before.

Stephanie: All right, Ridge, it's your home, it's your family, it's your decision.

Ridge: You're damn right it is. And I would never so much as even touch Bridget because I know it would destroy my marriage now. I'm not going to let that happen.

Amber: Ridge and Bridget -- oh, my god.
