Stephanie: I suppose I don't have to ask why you're here.

Brooke: I talked to Ridge and Bridget.

Stephanie: Oh, you want to thank me for telling you about this?

Brooke: I want to tell you -- nothing is going on.

Stephanie: Well that's what they told you.

Brooke: That's what I'm telling you. Once and for all, Stephanie, this isn't a problem. So stop trying to make it one.

Stephanie: Brooke, I was just trying to help you.

Brooke: No, you weren't. You were trying to stir up some trouble, just like always. You saw an opportunity to play on my weaknesses and insecurities, so you took it, regardless of what your filthy accusations might do to my daughter.

Stephanie: You didn't tell Bridget what I said?

Brooke: No. And you're not going to mention it to anyone, either. What's done is done -- that is all in the past. Ridge is over it. Bridget is over it. And now that she's going to be living with us --

Stephanie: What? You mean she's not going back to Copenhagen?

Brooke: No, she's not. And no, we're not going to discuss it.

Nick: Little late to be sunbathing, isn't it?

Bridget: You scared me. What is that smell?

Nick: Well, I just thought you might still be here, so I brought you over a little dinner from Chuck's.

Bridget: Oh, god. What is it?

Nick: Well, I knew secretly you were really eying my ribs and fries earlier, so I brought you some, but if that doesn't interest you, you're more than welcome to one of my corn dogs.

Bridget: Oh, no, no, no, thanks. I'm -- oh, wow. I'm fine.

Nick: Really?

Bridget: Yeah.

Nick: Nothing better than a corn dog and mustard.

Bridget: Oh, right, yeah.

Nick: Then again, you may not want to fly all the way to Europe on a full stomach. You sure?

Bridget: Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks, though.

Nick: Okay. Hmm, swimsuit, poolside, no suitcase at the front door, no cab out front.

Bridget: Nope.

Nick: Something must stink in Denmark.

Bridget: I'm not going back. I'm staying in L.A., Nick.

Darla: Thank you very much. We're expecting two more people, so we'll go ahead and open the champagne then.

Sally: Or maybe we'll just hit one of them over the head with it.

Darla: Thank you. Sally, everything's going to be fine. You'll see that when Thorne gets here.

Sally: Oh yeah? Well, he's gonna have a lot of explaining to do.

Darla: You know, I'm not even gonna let you talk to him if you keep acting this way. I'll grab my phone right now and tell him to meet me at home.

Sally: What? You don't think I have a right to be upset?

Darla: At ridge. For trying to lure Thorne away to Forrester. Sally, come on, there is no way that Thorne would ever abandon you.

Sally: Ridge was saying everything he wanted to hear.

Darla: Ridge is all talk.

Sally: Well, it sounded like your husband was listening.

Clarke: Hello, ladies. What are we celebrating?

Sally: We're not.

Darla: Sally thinks that Ridge convinced Thorne to go back to work at Forrester.

Clarke: What?

Sally: I heard them, Darla. So did you. Ridge's speech was so moving that I was ready to jump ship and give poor Eric a hand myself.

Clarke: He played the family card?

Sally: Ridge is holding triple aces and we are left drawing to an inside straight.

Darla: It wasn't that bad.

Thorne: Something wrong? Looks like it's getting pretty serious over here. What's going on?

Darla: Hi, honey. How are you doing?

Thorne: Good.

Darla: Sit down. Have some champagne with us.

Thorne: All right. I've been getting calls about the sales figures all day.

Sally: Really? Is that why you're so late?

Thorne: I got hung up at the office.

Sally: Doing what?

Thorne: Thinking.

Darla: You have something on your mind, sweetie?

Thorne: Actually, yes, I do. And I'd like to speak sally alone about it.

Sally: Listen -- anything you want to say, you can say in front of them. We are a family, remember? All for one, one for all.

Thorne: Well, I'm glad you feel that way, Sally.

Sally: I hope you do, too.

Thorne: I do. And that's what I want to talk to you about. I have a proposition.

Sally: Really? One that you've been offered?

Thorne: No, actually one that I would like to offer you -- a split, 50/50.

Sally: Of what?

Thorne: Spectra Couture. I want half of our profits.

Nick: So, you're sticking around?

Bridget: Wow -- don't start doing back flips.

Nick: Well, you told me that you were leaving.

Bridget: Are you disappointed that I'm not?

Nick: No -- it was your idea. You were committed to it. I thought it was a good idea.

Bridget: I talked to my mom, and she was really great about everything. She understands what I'm going through.

Nick: You told your mother that the best time you ever had in your life was with her husband? You told her that?

Bridget: You know, Ridge was right. It's better to be honest.

Nick: No, no, no, no, no. It's not that simple.

Bridget: Why not?

Nick: What happened? You were ready to go.

Bridget: My mother asked me to stay.

Nick: And you agreed? After everything that you said to me, you agreed?

Bridget: So I changed my mind.

Nick: Maybe you're just afraid.

Bridget: Oh, god. You know, you're the one that told me I shouldn't be running away from my problems.

Nick: So you're admitting it's still a problem?

Bridget: You know, it's not going to get any better in Copenhagen. I would be lonely and isolated and way too much time on my hands to think.

Nick: "Lonely?" "Too much time to think?" How do you think you're gonna feel when you see your mother and Ridge roll out to dinner and you're stuck here in this house with these kids?

Bridget: I am not jealous of my mother. Don't make it sound like that.

Nick: I'm not talking about jealousy here. This is a storm you're going into, kid. Not some little gale, this is a category four. You can't live in the same house as Forrester. You're just asking for trouble.

Ridge: No, Nick. She's staying here because this is where she belongs.

Stephanie: Bridget is not going back to school? She's going to be living with you?

Brooke: She needs time to heal.

Stephanie: She is not going to heal living in that house with you.

Brooke: Don't be ridiculous.

Stephanie: You don't see the problem?

Brooke: There isn't a problem.

Stephanie: You cannot ignore this situation.

Brooke: I'm not ignoring anything, Stephanie. I told you, I've dealt with it.

Stephanie: Well, clearing the air may have made you feel better, but it hasn't changed anything. She's still struggling with this.

Brooke: She's getting a handle on it.

Stephanie: It's not just in her head. She and ridge really shared something very significant after Taylor died. There were feelings on both of their sides. And now you're gonna have her in the house where it all started in the first place.

Brooke: Oh. There you go again. Trying to make me feel paranoid.

Stephanie: No I'm not. I'm trying to help you save your marriage. You've gotta face this or this family is headed for disaster. Brooke, you can't let this happen again.

Brooke: It won't. I made it very clear to Ridge that if it does, our marriage is over.

Stephanie: Well, at last you finally see the gravity of the situation.

Brooke: Yes, and so does Ridge.

Stephanie: Now that you laid down the law.

Brooke: He didn't need to be reminded how important our relationship is.

Stephanie: But you thought it was necessary. No, huh-uh, don't get upset. The way he's been behaving lately, if it had been me, I would've done the same thing. Men sometimes -- have to be reminded that there are certain lines they can't cross.

Brooke: Not that he would. He just has to be a little more careful with Bridget. He shouldn't give her mixed signals.

Stephanie: What do you mean mixed signals?

Brooke: He just wants to help her.

Stephanie: He shouldn't be anywhere near her.

Brooke: It wasn't a big deal. He was just trying to comfort her.

Stephanie: What do you mean? What happened?

Brooke: After Jackie M.'s party, Bridget was very upset. And I came downstairs and saw Ridge holding her. And he called her princess.

Stephanie: Oh, my god!

Brooke: Oh, it was nothing.

Stephanie: That's exactly the kind of behavior that got them in trouble in the first place. Now you stop him! You put a stop this right now!

Ridge: Look, Nick, we appreciate your concern. But like I told you the other night, we're working this out as a family.

Nick: Well, if you were working this out the right way, she'd be on her way back to Europe.

Ridge: There's no reason for Bridget to leave. We've talked with Brooke. Now everything's out in the open.

Nick: Oh, perfect. So everybody sees the problem, but nobody's doing anything about it.

Ridge: We're handling it.

Nick: And how's that?

Bridget: Nick, please. There's no need to argue. Ridge is right. Everything's gonna be fine.

Nick: I know you want to believe that, Bridget, but saying it doesn't make it true.

Ridge: Neither does running around telling everybody the sky is falling.

Nick: So I'm the one overreacting here? Really? I'm the one who seems crazy, right? But it's okay for the two of you to be splashing around in the pool together.

Bridget: It is.

Ridge: All right, that's enough.

Nick: Bridget, I'm not trying to upset you.

Ridge: Then back off, Nick.

Nick: Forrester, you may think that you're helping here, you may think you're doing the right thing, but, god, you're not.

Ridge: No, Nick, you're the one who's not doing anything right. You're making Bridget upset and you're ticking me off. I think it's time for you to leave. Don't make the same mistake twice. Look, I don't need your advice anymore, okay. Bridget is staying where she is. But you're not. So, good-bye!

Sally: Oh, but of course, Garcon, please forget the champagne. I think the success has already gone to our president's head.

Thorne: You don't think I deserve it?

Clarke: Half the profits?

Sally: Two good sales reports, and he thinks we're willing to throw our money around.

Clarke: Oh, start throwing some of it over here.

Thorne: I'm not joking, you guys.

Sally: You have a contract.

Thorne: Yes, and you can hold me to it, Sally. But a smart businesswoman knows that her people work harder when they have a stake in the business.

Sally: You're driving a stake through my heart!

Darla: Okay, all right, why don't we discuss this back at the office?

Thorne: Sounds like sally doesn't want to discuss it at all.

Sally: Thorne, that's not true. You know how much I respect you and your talent. Nobody values your contribution to spectra more than I do.

Thorne: You're just not willing to put your money where your mouth is.

Darla: Honey --

Thorne: Look, I'm not being ungrateful, okay. I appreciate everything you've done for me, Sally. You gave me an opportunity when my own family wouldn't. And we have done some great work together. But if you're not interested in a real partnership, I have other options. Ridge asked me to come back to Forrester.

Darla: You're not actually considering it?

Thorne: Ridge has talked about giving up control.

Clarke: And you believed him?

Thorne: He trusts my judgment, Clarke. He didn't before. But he cannot argue with my success.

Sally: Our success.

Thorne: I'm very proud of what we accomplished, Sally. But I'm not kidding myself. Spectra wouldn't be selling half as well if my name weren't connected to it. You know that, too.

Sally: I change one ad and, all of a sudden, you think that entitles you to a piece of the pie? I used my life savings to buy back this company from Massimo. I risked everything I had.

Thorne: And I'm willing to take the same risk. I will give up my salary for a percentage. I believe in this company, Sally. And I am ready to take Spectra to the next level. But in order for me to do that, I need more control.

Sally: What are you talking about? I took you out of the bargain basement over at Forrester's. I gave you a title, gave you everything you needed to make this company shine. Now, you still want more?

Thorne: Sally, this is more than just money, okay. This is about responsibility. I need to be accountable. If my name is on the label, then it has to be my hide on the line. That is leadership. Now that's the deal. Equal -- 50/50 -- take it or leave it.

Ridge: Look, don't let Nick bother you. The guy doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut.

Bridget: Oh, you know, he's just concerned.

Ridge: He doesn't understand how our family works. We don't keep things bottled up.

Bridget: No, we air our laundry out for the entire world to see.

Ridge: Look, we see a problem and we deal with it. That way it doesn't turn into something else.

Bridget: So you do agree with nick. My staying here is a problem.

Ridge: Well, it might have been, but we talked to Brooke. Now everybody knows exactly what's going on, right?

Bridget: What is going on?

Ridge: Nothing. Right?

Bridget: Right.

Ridge: Good. You gonna go in?

Bridget: No, thanks.

Ridge: Ten laps -- I guarantee you'll feel better. It's a good way to get a little stress out, too. Remember, we used to come down here after putting the kids to bed.

Bridget: You know, I should probably go on up.

Ridge: No, no, no. Wait, wait. You were here first. I didn't mean to intrude.

Bridget: No, Ridge, it's your pool.

Ridge: I just came down to do a few laps. I didn't want to, you know, chase you out of here. Come on -- you stay. I won't bother you. I promise. You just sit down, read your book.

Bridget: All right.

Ridge: You go ahead and read. I promise you you won't even know I'm here.

Brooke: Stephanie, you're making way too much of this. You're making it sound like some kind of catastrophe.

Stephanie: Well, it could be if you don't stop it.

Brooke: You stop it! Why do I let you do this to me?

Stephanie: Look -- you don't have to trust me, Brooke, but at least listen to me.

Brooke: And why should I?

Stephanie: Because your instincts are telling you that what I'm saying is true. They have a real connection, and you know it.

Brooke: He's concerned about her.

Stephanie: And I'm concerned about you -- all of you. You know how much this family means to me. I'd do anything to protect it.

Brooke: And so would I.

Stephanie: And you have. You have. And I will always be grateful to you. You stood up for Eric, you went against Ridge, you put the family needs above your own.

Brooke: Not that it changed your attitude any.

Stephanie: What are you talking about? I'm here trying to help you. Brooke, I know you don't want to hear this, but they have feelings for one another -- feelings that cannot be talked away, Brooke. They cannot be wished away. I'm not trying to scare you. But if you pretend this isn't possible, you could lose everything. You are the only one. You've got to stop this.

Brooke: You're wrong.

Stephanie: No woman ever wants to believe that her husband will cross that line until it happens.

Brooke: But not to me. And not Ridge. Not now. And not with my daughter, Stephanie. Now I am done talking about this. Do you hear me? It's not going to happen.
