Jackie: Oh, darling, what an incredible party.

Deacon: I got an idea -- let's get out of here.

Jackie: What?

Deacon: The party's kind of winding down. You know, I don't think anyone would miss us. Go home, put on some music. Light a fire, take our clothes off. That sort of thing, you know?

Jackie: Okay.

Deacon: Let's go right now.

Jackie: Let's go.

Thomas: Caitlin, come on. You have something to tell me. So just say it. My dad sent me out here. There's obviously something on your mind.

Caitlin: Believe me, Thomas, you don't want to hear it.

Thomas: What's going on?

Caitlin: Your dad never should've put me in this position.

Thomas: Oh. Oh, I get it. You were going to say you're madly in love with me. That you see me differently now, and you made a big mistake by blowing me off for Rick. Is that it?

Caitlin: Yeah. Told you you wouldn't want to hear it.

Thomas: Well, how stupid does he think I am?

Caitlin: What?

Thomas: The same scam they pulled with Amber. Having Rick tell her that he still has feelings for her, hoping that she'd dump me for him.

Caitlin: No, no, no. Tom.

Thomas: Now, they're trying to drag you into it. That's so twisted getting you to lie like that.

Caitlin: No, Thomas!

Thomas: What?

Caitlin: It's not a lie.

Amber: I think it's a good thing.

Ridge: What?

Amber: Your leave of absence.

Ridge: What about it?

Amber: It's good for you and for your family. You are taking time out to get your priorities straight and I respect that.

Ridge: I want to spend more time with my son, get more involved in his life.

Amber: I'd say you're off to a very good start.

Ridge: So would I. From what I can see, it's all ready making the difference.

Nick: You and Forrester? That's why you came back?

Bridget: No. I mean, yes, but not in the way that you think. I was hoping that there would be something between us. I didn't want that. I just thought that if I came back and I spent time with him I would realize that he wasn't the perfect man I was making him out to be.

Nick: So how's that working?

Bridget: It's not. When I look at him now, he's still the same man. He's still as sensitive and strong. God, Ridge is still as wonderful as he always has been.

Jackie: Oh, thank you. What an incredible evening. I mean, I knew it was going to be absolutely fabulous. A party at the beach -- what's there not to like? Who knew it was going to be this must attend event. It was incredible. At least I thought it was incredible. You don't seem so excited. Deacon?

Deacon: Hmm? What?

Jackie: Well, didn't you have a good time?

Deacon: Yeah, I was. I did.

Jackie: You were very quiet in the car coming home. Is something wrong?

Deacon: I don't know. The party was going on, everything was cool. As the night went along -- Jackie, for the first time since I got sober, I really, really wanted a drink.

Bridget: Nick, I am not in love with him.

Nick: Okay.

Bridget: No, you have to understand what we went through together.

Nick: I hear what you're saying and I'm trying to understand.

Bridget: It was just that whole time in my life. It should have been terrible. But it wasn't, because of Ridge and the kids and living in that house and helping out after Taylor's death. It was the first time in my life I felt like I belonged somewhere.

Nick: You should be proud of that. You were a big help to them.

Bridget: They were a big help to me, too, Nick. Especially Ridge. He was suffering his own loss, but he was there for me even when I tried to shut him out. I have never, ever felt that safe and protected before.

Nick: Well, the truth is maybe somebody should have been there to protect you from him.

Bridget: No.

Nick: And the frightening part is that, Bridget, you don't see it? The way he looked at you, the fact that he touched you. It's wrong. The man crossed a line that never should have been crossed.

Amber: I know why you asked me to dance, Ridge.

Ridge: You do?

Amber: Yeah. But don't worry. I'm not going to make you say it. I'm sorry, too. And I promise, if we can find a way to get along, then my relationship with Thomas won't affect your relationship with him at all. I mean the last thing I want to do is get in between you two.

Ridge: Then we're on the same page then.

Amber: Absolutely. In fact, I think this dance could mark the beginning of a new chapter in Thomas' life.

Ridge: So do I.

[ Applause ]

Amber: Thanks. That was great. I better go find Thomas.

Ridge: Now wait, wait, wait. Hold on.

Amber: What? You want to keep dancing?

Ridge: Yeah. Let's do one more song.

Amber: Okay. One song -- you wanted to talk, you wanted to show Tthomas how open-minded you are. And now you want to go again?

Ridge: Yeah.

Amber: You're up to something. And I know what it is.

Thomas: Caitlin, come on, look at me.

Caitlin: I cant.

Thomas: I don't understand. If you didn't lie -- you really do have feelings for me?

Caitlin: It was a huge mistake to say anything, okay? I'm so sorry. After the way I treated you, I know that I don't have any right.

Jackie: You didn't have a drink?

Deacon: No. But, Jackie, I wanted one. I'm used to this. You know, it's a constant battle. It's just is. But it's never been this hard.

Jackie: Did something happen?

Deacon: No. I'm wracking my brain. I'm trying to look for some kind of an explanation. It doesn't make sense. I mean, it's like one minute, everything's cool. The next thing I know, every drink in the bar is calling my name.

Jackie: Maybe you need to go to a meeting.

Deacon: I already put a call in to my sponsor. You know, this happens. You know, people fall off the wagon. Usually it's when everything's gone wrong. You know, you suffer some kind of setback. I'm on top of the world right now. I mean, what the hell is wrong with me?

Amber: I know exactly what you're doing. You are trying to keep me occupied while the Forrester operatives schmooze the Jackie M people.

Ridge: Busted. You got me.

Amber: You're not even working there anymore.

Ridge: Well, what can I say? Old habits.

Samantha: Yeah, Ridge and Amber are dancing. That's weird.

Hector: Well, maybe not. Where's Thomas?

Samantha: I don't know.

Hector: And I haven't found Caitlin yet.

Samantha: Oh, there she is. Do you think Ridge set that up?

Hector: Well, he definitely doesn't want Amber to see him.

[ Applause ]

Amber: Now I better go find Thomas.

Ridge: All right. I think I saw him go out front.

Amber: Oh, cool. Thanks. Oh, thanks for the dance.

Ridge: Thank you.

Samantha: You dancing with Amber? Now, that's something I never thought I'd see.

Ridge: Well, I wanted to give Thomas and Caitlin a chance to talk. I can't promise it's going to do any good.

Thomas: So that conversation we had the other day about you not appreciating things like you should --

Caitlin: Yes, okay? Yes. I was talking about you. The more time I spend with you, the more I realize what an amazing person you are. The more I realize what an idiot I was. Look, I had my chance and I blew it. Okay, you're with amber now and you guys are happy. And, Thomas, I don't want to interfere with that. Okay, and no matter what Ridge said, I wasn't going to tell you how I felt or Aamber. Look, you've made a commitment and I really respect that.

Amber: There you are. I have been looking everywhere for you. What's going on?

Caitlin: Nothing. Nothing at all.

Bridget: Maybe I shouldn't be talking to you about this.

Nick: Maybe it's because you don't want to hear what I have to say.

Bridget: No, Nick, it's because you're biased and you're angry at Ridge for taking my mother away from you.

Nick: Oh, please, Bridget. Your mother's an adult. She made her choice. You were a kid, inexperienced, he took advantage of you.

Bridget: No, he didn't. He did not! I'm not a victim. I wasn't abused. It was just a crazy little crush. Now I just feel like there's something broken inside of me. I don't know how to fix it. There's so much good in my life, so many things that I should be happy about. But I'm not. It's like there's this emptiness inside of me, this hollow place. Maybe it's always been there. Maybe my whole life I just wanted to feel the way I felt while I was living with Ridge and the kids. His life has moved on like nothing happened. He and my mom have everything they ever wanted. And I'm happy for them. I really am. It's just when I look at my life, it's -- it's just such a mess. I'm just stuck in the past, wanting something that -- I just want something that I'll never, ever have. I guess I'm just miserable. I'm just miserable.

Jackie: Stop saying that. There's nothing wrong with you.

Deacon: Why the hell am I feeling this way?

Jackie: I don't know. I don't know what brought this on. But I do know that you will get through it. You may have been vulnerable before. You know, there may have been a self-destructive streak in you. But that was before you had me. We're a team now. You don't have to battle these demons by yourself. And no matter how scary and ugly that you think that part of you is, there is no part of you, Deacon, that I don't love. You hang on to me, okay? And you'll get through this. No, no -- we, we will get through this together.

Nick: Don't worry. Everything's gonna be okay. It's gonna be okay.

Bridget: How? How am I ever going to get past this? When am I going to be able to feel good again?

Nick: That I don't know.

Bridget: Neither do I. And it scares me. You know, I'm beginning to think it just may never happen. I may never move on, feel normal and be able to fall in love again. Ridge.

Ridge: Bridget, I had no idea. I knew you were hurting, but I never thought -- it's my fault.

Bridget: No. Oh, god, no. I don't blame you.

Ridge: I heard you.

Bridget: It's not you. It's just -- it's me.

Ridge: What can I do? Tell me what you need.

Bridget: I have to get through this on my own.

Ridge: You tried that. Now, you're home. You don't have to do this on your own. I want to help you. I'll do whatever it takes to make you happy again, Bridget.

Bridget: Ridge, you don't have to.

Ridge: Yeah, yeah. But I do. But I do. I can't stand seeing you hurting like this, knowing I'm responsible. I'm going to fix this.

Bridget: No.

Ridge: Listen to me. I'm going to fix this. You were there for me. You were there for me when I was lost and confused, the lowest, darkest point in my life. I didn't know who to turn to. You, you pulled me out of this, Bridget. You pulled me out of it. You gave me something to hold on to. Now, now it's my turn. It's my turn to be there for you. I'll be there for you.

Announcer: On the next "bold and the beautiful" --

Ridge: You will always be my princess.

Brooke: I need to know what's going on and if my daughter is still in love with you.

Sally: I still own this joint, you know.

Eric: Your brother left the company over this.

Thorne: Dad, I'm sorry.

Eric: I want to know what you intend to do about it. You going to 86 Sally?

Sally: Excuse me?
