Eric: So how's our turkey coming?

Stephanie: About 20 pounds too big for the two of us.

Eric: Well, that's all right, I like leftovers.

Stephanie: Good, because you're going to be eating them until spring.

Eric: Come on, let's do this thing right. We need some music in here. Where's our Christmas cds?

Stephanie: Well, if you're going to do that, I'd rather have you sing to me.

Eric: Now, I want to cheer you up. I don't want to drive you from --

Stephanie: Oh, go over and tickle those ivories. You love to do it.

Eric: All right.

Stephanie: I mean, we didn't get this piano tuned for naught.

Eric: No, once a year it's better be worth it.

Silent night holy night all is calm all is bright

round yon virgin mother and child holy infant so I should've played something else. I'm not doing a very good job of cheering you up.

Stephanie: You shouldn't have to. And I shouldn't be filled with self pity. Ridge and Thorne want to have their own Christmas, it's okay.

Eric: Yeah. You know, we never would have minded if our parents dropped in.

Stephanie: No. And who would we go to visit first?

Eric: Hmm.

Stephanie: No, no. We're not going to stir up any trouble Christmas night.

Eric: I know.

Darla: Oh, look at this one. That one, right there. That's the one mommy and daddy picked out special for you. It's your special Christmas ornament.

Sally: You know something, I think it's very sporting of you to let your brother spend the day with your parents, Thorne.

Thorne: Well, it wouldn't have been much fun with the both of us over there. I mean, who wants to spend Christmas discussing Spectra's latest sales figures?

Sally: Well, not me for one. We absolutely agreed there would be no shop talk. This is not a company Christmas party. We came here as a family.

Darla: You are absolutely right, sal. You know, it's just too bad that Thorne's parents couldn't have been a part of it though, you know? God, oh, remember last year? Stephanie gave you that beautiful locket?

Thorne: You know, I think everything will calm down once ridge realizes that I'm not trying to take his place in the family.

[ Alexandria fusses ]

Darla: Yeah. Well, I just hope he and your parents are having as nice of a time as we are.

[ Laughter ] Wee!

[ Knock on door ]

Clarke: Oh. I hope that's Amber. I'm starving.

Ridge: Merry Christmas, little brother. Hello.

Clarke: Ridge.

Thorne: What are you doing here?

Ridge: Me? What are you doing here?

Thorne: I'm having dinner with Sally and Clarke and Darla.

Ridge: Why aren't you with mother and dad?

Thorne: Because you're having Christmas with them.

Ridge: No, I'm not. I made other plans to give them a chance to spend it with you.

Thorne: I didn't want to intrude on your time with them, Ridge. Oh, no. You're telling me that mom and dad are spending Christmas alone?

Thorne: Mom and dad are alone? Why didn't they call us? Ridge, they have to know that this was a mistake. I mean, Christmas means so much to them.

Ridge: Especially to mother.

Thorne: Well, we have to do something.

Ridge: Well, that's why I'm here, Thorne.

Darla: You know, Ridge really shouldn't be here. This is exactly the kind of confrontation that Thorne wanted to avoid.

Clarke: It's Christmas time. I mean, whatever happened to peace on earth, good will toward men?

Thorne: Everyone, there's been a change of plans.

[ Knock on door ]

[ Stephanie gasps ]

Stephanie: Hope? What are you doing here?

Hope: I brought you a present.

Stephanie: Oh, honey.

Thomas: Hey, hey, hey. Merry Christmas!

Stephanie: Tom! Merry Christmas!

Thomas: Happy holidays, grandma.

Stephanie: Thank you, sweetheart.

Thomas: Happy holidays.

Stephanie: Sweetheart.

Eric: Thomas?

Thomas: Yes?

Eric: What did you do?

Thomas: Uh, it wasn't me.

Amber: Hey.

Stephanie: Hi. Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas.

Katherine: Hi.

Stephanie: Hi, Katherine. Oh, my god, they're beautiful. Thank you, sweetheart.

Brooke: Hello. Merry Christmas.

Stephanie: Brooke? Merry Christmas. Bridget!

Bridget: Stephanie! Merry Christmas.

Stephanie: Oh, sweetheart. Merry Christmas.

Bridget: Good to see you.

Stephanie: Your dad's there.

Eric: Bridget?

Bridget: Hi, dad.

Eric: I can't believe I'm seeing you. Oh, my god.

Bridget: I missed you.

Eric: What a wonderful surprise.

Bridget: And it gets better.

Massimo: Somebody having a Christmas party?

Stephanie: Massimo! Merry Christmas, sweetheart.

Massimo: Happy holidays, dear friend.

Stephanie: Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Darla: Merry Christmas, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Oh, Darla. And my beautiful baby. Look at that red hat!

Darla: Oh, I hope we're not intruding.

Stephanie: Oh, no. Come on in. Oh, this is wonderful.

Darla: Oh, Stephanie, the place looks great.

Stephanie: Oh, thank you.

Darla: Wow.

Stephanie: I thought you were spending Christmas with Sally.

Darla: Well, Sally and Clarke are outside.

Stephanie: They're here, too?

Darla: They're wrapping a little something in the car.

Stephanie: Oh.

Darla: Right?

Thomas: This is amazing.

Amber: Did you see the look on Stephanie's face?

Thomas: Yeah, she looks as happy as I feel.

Amber: I knew we'd find a way to spend Christmas together.

Thomas: I'm glad we did.

Nick: How come nobody told me you were coming home?

Bridget: Oh, nobody knew.

Eric: There we are. Perfect.

Alexandria: Mommy!

Darla: Mommy is right here.

Eric: Oh, just in time.

Darla: Here you go.

Brooke: And there's a lot more.

Stephanie: Oh, wonderful!

Darla: Be right back.

Clarke: You know, I hope you don't mind us crashing your holiday like this.

Eric: Not at all, Clarke. The fact is, it didn't really feel like Christmas until you all got here.

Clarke: Well, thank you.

Eric: Girls? I think it's time for us to light the Christmas tree. What do you say?

Hope: Yeah!

Eric: Yeah? One -- two -- three.

[ Oohs and aahs ]

Brooke: It's beautiful.

Darla: Oh, isn't that beautiful?

Stephanie: Merry Christmas, Sally.

Sally: Ah-hah! The famous Forrester eggnog. I've been waiting for a taste of this all year. Cheers.

Stephanie: Thank you.

Sally: Mmm.

Stephanie: Thorne didn't come with you, did he?

Sally: No, he didn't come with me. He came with someone else.

Stephanie: You're here. You're really here.

Ridge: Come on, Mother. You didn't really think we'd let you spend Christmas alone, did you? My mother always said, "don't slump,

Brooke: I think so.

Katherine: Both babies are sound asleep.

Brooke: Thank you.

Eric: Now wait a minute, wait a minute? You two came together?

Ridge: Well, I picked Thorne up.

Eric: I thought you two didn't want to see each other.

Thorne: Well, we didn't want to see you unhappy.

Ridge: And you would have been if we'd left you here alone.

Stephanie: What changed your minds?

Ridge: Amber did.

Amber: I made a phone call.

Ridge: You let us know what was going on, Amber. I want to thank you for that.

Stephanie: Someday, when you have your own family, you'll realize what an incredible gift you've given me.

Amber: I told you I'd bring this family together.

Stephanie: Yes, you did.

Phoebe: Grandma? Hope wants to give you your present.

Stephanie: Well, I'd be delighted to get a present. And I have lots of gifts for you, so come on.

Thomas: Let's get some eggnog, what do you say?

Amber: I love eggnog.

Thomas: All right.

Stephanie: Okay, you can open that.

Eric: You have no idea what you've done for your mother and me -- to see you and Thorne together?

Ridge: Well, we both wanted you have a stress-free Christmas, Dad.

Eric: Yeah. Each of you is willing to sacrifice time with his family so the other could be with us.

Ridge: Well, you see what happens when you try to do something a little selfless?

Eric: Yeah. I'm proud of you. I'm proud of you both.

Stephanie: Bridget.

Bridget: Oh, Merry Christmas, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Merry Christmas to you.

Stephanie: Your father and I are so happy that you are here for Christmas.

Bridget: Oh, me, too.

Stephanie: Oscar didn't come with you from Copenhagen? He had to work? I mean, I would have thought for sure that he would be with you for Christmas.

Bridget: Like you said, he couldn't get off work.

Stephanie: Oh. Well, I'll have to talk to Massimo about it.

Bridget: Oh, no, no -- you know Ozzy, he wouldn't want any special treatment just because he's the boss' nephew. But thanks for asking about him. I'll tell him you said hi.

Darla: Ooh, I cannot eat another bite. It was wonderful. If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna check on Alexandria.

Massimo: So, from what I'm told, since I sold Spectra back to you, you folks have been doing very well.

Clarke: If you want to buy it, it would cost you more, because it's risen like a phoenix from the ashes. Don't ask how we did it.

Sally: Oh, we don't have to tell massimo anything about rising above adversity, Clarke. The man is a walking, talking miracle.

Massimo: You know, sometimes it feels that way, but Sally, you better than anyone understand that behind every miracle, there's a heck of a lot of hard work, you know?

Sally: Baby, you can certainly say that again.

[ Knock on door ]

Eric: Sam!

Hector: Eric, we just wanted to stop by to drop off these gifts.

Eric: Well, by all means, come right in. Everybody's inside.

Stephanie: Merry Christmas, Sam! Hector! How nice to see you.

Hector: Merry Christmas. Good to see you, too.

Stephanie: This is wonderful.

Clarke: Merry Christmas. How was the toy drive?

Hector: Excellent.

Samantha: Clarke, the kids all really loved the toys.

Hector: Merry Christmas.

[ All talking at once ]

Brooke: This is how I always imagined Christmas should be.

Darla: It's pretty amazing, isn't it? Everybody together.

Brooke: Getting along.

Darla: Yes. I just hope it stays this way.

Brooke: Me, too. For a long time. For our children's sake.

The kids in girl and boyland will have a jubilee

there'll a Christmas toyland all around the Christmas tree

so you better watch out you better not cry you better not pout I'm telling you why

Santa Claus is coming to town Santa Claus is coming Santa Claus is coming to town

[ Applause ]

Amber: Encore, encore!

[ Everyone shouts "encore!" ]

Nick: No, no, no. The band's retiring. Thank you very much.

Ridge: Here you go.

Thorne: Thank you, sir.

Ridge: Mom's eggnog, huh?

Eric: So how's the eggnog?

Ridge: Ooh! A tad heavy on the Rum there.

Thorne: Rubbing alcohol, maybe?

Eric: Well, that's -- that's perfect.

Ridge: For you?

Eric: The way your mother likes it.

Thorne: That explains everything.

Ridge: How about a little egg with my rum?

Eric: This is -- this is exactly --

Stephanie: May I say a few words, please? I've been standing, listening to the music and the laughter that's filled this room. And -- all of you have really brought the spirit of Christmas into this house tonight, and I thank you for it. You didn't have to come here. I know you wanted to start your own traditions.

Ridge: Mother, I can't really think of any place we'd rather be.

Stephanie: And I couldn't be happier to have you here. It's been a difficult year. Some of us have had problems. Some of us have faced adversity. Some of us have been at odds with one another. But you've put all of those differences aside and you've come here this evening, I think, because you realize that the most important thing in the world are friends and family. And we are so lucky to share this moment. In years to come, we may not be as fortunate. It's so important to recognize the people around you, the people you care about, the people you love. We cannot let anger break the bonds that have tied us together. There are a few people here that aren't actually related to us. But let me tell you that as of this evening, you are officially members of our family. It's very important to remember people that are less fortunate than we are. And I hope that we can remember them in our prayers. And let's hope and pray for peace. Peace on earth. Thank you all for spending this wonderful evening with us. Merry, merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas!

[ Applause ]

Ridge: Mother, we love you.

Thorne: We always will.

Stephanie: Thank you. Your father and I have a song we have to finish.

Eric: Come here, everybody, gathers around the piano, will you?

I'll be home for Christmas you can count on me please have snow and mistletoe and presents under the tree
