Brooke: You guys know you're always welcome here, but I don't think it'll help your case if you're the first thing that Ridge sees when he walks through that door.

Thorne: We're not gonna hang around, believe me.

Darla: We just wanted to stop by and thank you in person.

Brooke: I haven't done anything or promised anything.

Thorne: Maybe not yet but you will.

Brooke: You seem confident.

Thorne: I know you, Brooke. And you know what's right.

Darla: And I think you also know that it's completely out of line for Ridge to block the distribution of spectra couture.

Thorne: Yes, and you're the largest stockholder, not Ridge. Brooke, you can put an end to this. You can give spectra the chance that we deserve to enter this marketplace. Now all we're asking for is a shot.

[ Cell phone rings ]

Brooke: Hello? Oh, hi, Ridge. Good, then I'll see you soon. I love you, too. Bye. He'll be here in a few minutes.

Thorne: We won't be.

Brooke: Okay.

Darla: Thank you in advance, Brooke. Oh, I know you won't let us down. Thank you.

Thomas: I don't want to interrupt the flow of genius --

Caitlin: Oh, Thomas. What's this?

Thomas: Just a latte and one of your favorite brownies.

Caitlin: You remembered the hazelnut. That is so sweet.

Thomas: Ah, it was no big deal. And I figured what happened with you and Rick, that you could use some caffeine and chocolate.

Caitlin: Yeah. Well, I definitely can. Thanks for thinking of me.

Thorne: Mother! What are you doing here?

Darla: Hi, Stephanie. Where's Sally?

Stephanie: I think with the physical therapist.

Thorne: Ouch.

Darla: Poor guy.

Stephanie: Did you take my advice, did you go and see Brooke this morning?

Darla: We just came from seeing Brooke. You know, she didn't promise us anything, but I think she's gonna come around, right, babe?

Thorne: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: She's got to assert herself on this. It's so important. She's really needs to stand up to Ridge.

Thorne: You'd really like that, wouldn't you, Mother?

Stephanie: Well, of course I would. What are you implying?

Thorne: Come on. It's great that Brooke supports our cause, but it would be even better if her and Ridge fight about it, right? I know what you're thinking -- maybe we can get my clothes into Jackie M, and then Brooke and Ridge break up at the same time.

Stephanie: Well, anything's possible, I suppose --

Darla: Oh, come on, guys -- please, nobody's gonna have to break up here. I think all Brooke needs to do is convince Ridge to drop this vendetta and then she wouldn't have to vote against him. You know, and if there's anybody that Ridge would listen to, it's Brooke. Right?

Ridge: All right. Thank you very much. Have one on me. Take care. Hello, everybody! Anybody home? Hello?

Brooke: Just your loving wife and lovable new baby.

Ridge: Hey, there. Hey, there, did you miss your daddy? Did you? Huh?

Brooke: Well, I sure did.

Ridge: Yeah?

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: Well, I missed you guys, too. You have a present over there in the suitcase. But yours, little guy, look at this -- from one of Rome's best little toy stores --

Brooke: Oh, look at that!

Ridge: Ciao! Bambino. Ciao. Ciao. Ciao. Where is everybody? I got gifts for everyone.

Brooke: Phoebe and Steffy are at their music lessons, and Thomas is at Forrester, and Hope is at preschool. I'm going to have to get her up before too long.

Ridge: Oh, well, don't just leave us now. You and I have got a lot to catching up to do.

Brooke: Oh.

Thomas: Look, Caitlin, I realize I was a bit of a jerk about the whole Rick thing at first.

Caitlin: It's okay. You were just worried about me.

Thomas: Well, I'm sorry about the way it worked out between you two.

Caitlin: Or didn't work out, more precisely.

Thomas: Just know that if you ever want someone to talk to or hang out with -- get you more brownies -- let me know.

Caitlin: Thanks. How about a hug?

Thomas: Come here.

Darla: Okay, we have to think positive here. Because I know in Brooke's heart, that she agrees with us. You know, she thinks that Ridge forcing Jackie M into not carrying spectra couture is wrong.

Stephanie: But she didn't tell you that she would get into this with him, did she? And that's what worries me.

Darla: Well, but Stephanie, it's gonna take a lot of guts to stand up to ridge.

Thorne: Well, I just can't believe that Brooke would just throw out all of her principles and let Ridge bulldoze over me and everyone at Forrester. I mean, she will at least put up a good fight.

Stephanie: I'm beginning to have my doubts.

Ridge: Well, that's one perk you certainly don't get in business class.

Brooke: I certainly hope not.

Catherine: Hey, Ridge!

Ridge: Hey.

Catherine: Sorry to interrupt, but R.J. Here has a stroller-date with the gorgeous one-year-old down the street.

Brooke: Oh, you mean the little girl with the gorgeous male nanny?

Catherine: Yeah.

Ridge: Yeah, yeah. Well, knock yourself out, kiddo. Did I happen mentioned how much I've missed you?

Brooke: Likewise. It must have been pretty rough over there.

Ridge: It just kept getting more and more frustrating as time went on. I never should've even had to make that damn trip. I resent being away from you and the kids, and Massimo.

Brooke: I'm sure Massimo would understand. He knows what it takes to run a company.

Ridge: It's all damage control, Logan. You have no idea of the confusion and image problems we're having with our foreign distributors. "Spectra couture by Thorne Forrester" was all they could talk about -- why didn't Forrester creations have a fall showing? Did Thorne actually steal mine and dad designs from us? How could that happen? Why would we let that happen? Fortunately, I had all my answers down pat, just to kinda put a good spin on things -- but I pretty much spent every hotel night wondering how my brother could have screwed us over so completely.

Brooke: The important thing is that you did control the damage. The worst is over.

Ridge: But is it really? Now that mother and dad are playing that "forgive and forget" game with Thorne, I'm just supposed to be okay sharing rack space with spectra? At Jackie M or god knows what other place. Well, forget it, Logan. It's not gonna happen.

Caitlin: No, no, no, no.

Amber: I don't know. Well, you know, I was thinking maybe we should try a, like, a solid gold pant as opposed to such a colorful one.

Caitlin: Amber, you scared me.

Amber: Sorry. That's what I call deep into your work.

Caitlin: Yeah, well, Ridge will be back in the office tomorrow, so I want to make sure I have good stuff to show him.

Amber: Well, this design's great. It really is.

Caitlin: Thanks. So, um, you don't have to butter me up first, Amber. You can just get right to your point.

Amber: What point?

Caitlin: The "I-told-you-so"? Come on, Amber. I'm sure you heard Rick and I broke up.

Amber: I had no idea.

Caitlin: You didn't? Thomas didn't tell you?

Amber: No, no. I haven't seen him yet, I was on my way to see him and I saw you in here and thought I'd stop by and say hi -- I'm really sorry to hear that. You guys, you seemed like you had something really positive and healthy together. I guess, sometimes things just don't work out. And then, other times, a relationship that everybody thinks is the worst idea in the world ends up defying all of the odds and becomes something really special.

Caitlin: Like you and Thomas.

Amber: Look, Caitlin, I just want you to know that if you need a friend to help you through this, I'm here for you.

Thorne: You've told Brooke if she wanted to be a full-fledged Forrester, that she should do what's best for this family. Now, I have to believe that's what she's gonna do.

Darla: Well, she does want us all to get along. And she owns a big chunk of the stock.

Stephanie: Owning and using it are two different things.

Thorne: Man -- it wouldn't have to be a vote if she could talk Ridge out of doing this.

Stephanie: I hope she at least tries.

Ridge: You know, you still haven't told me what I'm most interested in -- which is, how you've been doin'.

Brooke: Oh, I'm okay.

Ridge: Just okay?

Brooke: Well, there's been a lot going on at work. Your ultimatum to Nick has everyone buzzing.

Ridge: Just business as usual. Forrester is not gonna share retail space with second-rate schlock.

Brooke: I know that. But the problem is not everyone is in agreement that "Spectra Couture by Thorne Forrester" is "second-rate schlock." Nick thinks that you are putting him an unfair position, and that he should be the one to decide what Jackie M carries.

Ridge: With all respect to my half-brother, he's been in the rag trade all of, what, ten minutes? But he's also dating my sister, who happens to be on Thorne's payroll.

Brooke: It's not just Nick, Ridge. It's your parents, too. They think you're being way too harsh. That this ultimatum is going to cause more harm than good.

Ridge: Hmm. And what about you, Logan? Do you agree with them?

Caitlin: We're not friends, Amber. Why in the world would you "be there" for me?

Amber: Okay, fine. Maybe we haven't been getting along too well lately.

Caitlin: You threw coffee on me. It was an accident. But remember when I was living at your house after the fire?

Caitlin: Yeah, that was a great time. I really looked up to you.

Amber: And I thought of you like a kid sister. I mean, really, I did. I mean, there's no reason for us to fight, Caitlin. You and I, we actually have a lot in common.

Caitlin: Us?

Amber: Yes, us. Now, I mean, we're both damn talented designers. And we were both raised without much money by single parents -- yours did a hell of a lot better than mine did, but, you know, we both became involved with the Forresters, and the family and the company. We both cared about Rick a lot. And we both probably always will. So, if you need to blow off some steam, maybe we could go see one of those gory horror flicks, or maybe we could go over to the bikini bar and check out the new crop of hotties. So, if you feel like doing somethin' give me a call and Thomas and I will be more than happy to escort you. I'm gonna find Thomas now. So you hang in there.

Caitlin: Thanks, Amber. I really appreciate it. I need all the friends I can get right now.

Amber: Yeah, you and I'll be great friends, Caitlin. Just as long as you keep your hands off Thomas.

Darla: Oh, god. This waiting around is driving me nuts.

Thorne: Me, too, honey. But I'm sure Brooke will let us know something as soon as she can.

Stephanie: What makes me nervous is that we have to depend on Brooke for something that's so important. We actually need her to stand up to Ridge.

Thorne: Well, Mother, she doesn't have to defy him. She just has to talk to him.

Stephanie: Well, it's all the same thing, isn't it? I mean, finally, after all these years, she's gotten what she's always wanted. She's married to him. I don't think she's going to risk that relationship. The most important thing in the world to her is to be Mrs. Ridge Forrester.

Thorne: Well, we'll see.

Darla: Don't give up yet, sweetie. Stephanie, hasn't Brooke ever surprised you before?

Stephanie: Oh, many times and I've never liked any of it.

Ridge: Logan, talk to me here.

Brooke: You know I trust your business instincts. And you've taught me all of the basics of the fashion industry. And I'm incredibly grateful that we're going to be working together again.

Ridge: Why do I have a feeling there's a "but" in there?

Brooke: Because, in this particular instance, I think that you're overreacting.

Ridge: Really?

Brooke: Thorne is your brother.

Ridge: Well, that didn't seem to stop him from walking out on Forrester Creations and then blatantly stealing our whole collection to inaugurate "spectra couture by Thorne Forrester." If anybody else had done that dad and I would have sued them into the ground, but because it was poor, mistreated Thorne, he gets away with it.

Brooke: Thorne regrets the way he handled things. He and his team have gone completely legit.

Ridge: Yeah, so I've been hearing. He doesn't want to be treated any differently than any other competitor, which is fine. Because I'm through cutting him any breaks. Forrester Ccreations does not have to sell to any chain that refuses to uphold premium standards of couture excellence. And that includes Jackie M if they decide to carry Spectra. Now, if Nick wants to take Forrester over spectra, that's just good business.

Brooke: Come on, Ridge, you're not exactly giving nick a choice.

Ridge: Hey, he's free to go with whatever designers he wants to. But we in turn are free to take our distribution elsewhere if we don't agree with him.

Brooke: And what if your father doesn't agree? He is still CEO.

Ridge: Logan, together you and I still control the majority of stock. So, my decision stands. After what spectra couture has put this family and this company through the last year, I'm not just gonna hand over the keys to the high-fashion marketplace to them. It's not gonna happen!

Brooke: My god, Ridge, do you hear how vindictive that sounds? Shouldn't this be about the product? You saw the original designs of Spectra Couture and you thought they were great. Thorne and his team are working at a very high skill level now. Okay, maybe they're not gonna be like you and Eric, not yet, anyway. But they're certainly not going to tarnish the image of Forrester creations or Jackie M. And they are not a threat. Although, this ultimatum to Nick may get the press and the fashion industry thinking that that's how you perceive Spectra.

Ridge: So you think I'm making a bad business move?

Brooke: I don't think this is about business at all. I think this is personal. And I think it starts at the root of when you heard Eric tell Thorne, at the Forrester/Spectra fashion show, that Thorne was Eric and Stephanie's only son.

Ridge: Oh, come on, Brooke! That's ridiculous. God, I regret even mentioning that conversation now. It has nothing to do with that.

Brooke: Well, it meant a lot to you, Ridge.

Ridge: Logan, it was no big deal, all right. I mean, he is their only son, isn't he? At least biologically speaking. Why would I be upset just because dad wanted to mention that?

Brooke: Because it flies in the face of everything that you grew up with. You're entire self-esteem, your self-image. The relationship that you had with Eric, that you always had.

Ridge: Nothing has changed.

Brooke: Something has changed. Thorne has found his way at Spectra. And the fashion industry has given their approval and you parents have, too. Now, I know it may seem like this whole "favoritism" thing has shifted --

Ridge: Oh, come on, Logan. Wait, is that what you think is going on here? You think I'm just doing this to get even because I'm jealous of Thorne?!

Brooke: Yes. That's what I think.
