Brooke: You want me to make your case to Ridge?

Thorne: No, I don't want you making our case. Brooke, I want you to put an end to this.

Brooke: Thorne, I know you don't like his decision.

Thorne: And neither do you. Come on, Brooke, you can't tell me that you're comfortable with this. Shutting us out of high-end retail. It's anti-competitive, it borders on illegal. And not to mention the havoc it's going to wreak on this family.

Brooke: Well, I don't see why it should.

Thorne: Don't you? Brooke, mother and dad are on my side. Darla and I just came from there, where they threw a party for us to wish us good luck. Look, we are finally starting to heal, which is what everyone wants, right? Well, except for Ridge.

Brooke: Now, that's not true.

Thorne: He's on the attack, Brooke. He's trying to grind this company out of existence. Now, do you see that as a peace offering? You told Darla you want to help get this family together. Well, Brooke, here's your chance.

Caitlin: Can you get these down to shipping? Thank you.

[ Knock at door ] Dad!

Hector: Hey, you.

Caitlin: Hey, what are you still doing here?

Hector: Well, it's quitting time. And you know, I thought you might wanna go out and grab a burger with your old man.

Caitlin: Just the two of us?

Hector: Yeah. Your mom's shopping and Jimmy had plans, so what do you say?

Caitlin: You're worried about me. Dad, you don't have to be, okay? I'm fine.

Hector: You just seemed a little upset earlier.

Caitlin: Yeah. I mean, I was, but it's not like Rick's going to the moon. It's just Milan for a few weeks.

Hector: A month, at least. Probably longer.

Caitlin: Well, he'll call, and we'll talk every day.

Hector: Honey, he didn't even tell you that he was leaving.

Caitlin: He meant to. He was just waiting till we had some time alone.

Hector: Yeah. Yeah, I noticed that you two haven't been spending that much time together.

Caitlin: Yeah, well, it's just been so crazy around here. But I was actually hoping to catch him once he gets off work.

Hector: Oh.

Caitlin: Come with us.

Hector: No, no, no. That -- that's okay. The two of you should talk.

Caitlin: Dad, we're fine. Really. Thanks for caring.

Hector: Okay, I'll see you at home then.

Caitlin: Okay. I love you.

Hector: I love you, too.

Thomas: Amber. Stop. What if somebody comes in?

Amber: Then I'll lock the door.

Thomas: No. Don't.

Amber: Oh, you are such a naughty boy.

Thomas: I'm -- I'm supposed to be working.

Amber: Like you're gonna get in trouble. You are Thomas Forrester.

Thomas: And you're not even supposed to be in the building.

Amber: Would your grandma just flip if she knew we were making out on her desk?

Thomas: We're not. We can't. Not here. Not now.

Rick: Okay, can we get one of these dresses to Milan in a day and a half?

Megan: Yeah, absolutely. Which one do you want?

Rick: This one.

Megan: Okay.

Rick: Yeah, it represents the collection the best. Let's just make sure that there's nothing to fix. Okay, looks good. Oh, hey, come on in.

Caitlin: Hey.

Rick: Listen, Megan, there's some beading on this that's loose. We need to get that fixed.

Megan: Okay. All right, we'll take care of it, and we will get it back to Milan right away.

Rick: Great. Thank you.

Megan: Okay. Uh-huh. I bet you're gonna miss this guy, huh?

Caitlin: Definitely.

Rick: All right, ladies, thank you very much. Great job.

Model: Have fun in Milan.

Rick: Oh, you know I will. Hey, Megan, can you make sure you have them pack some extra samples and stuff. I need to make sure I'm fully prepared.

Brooke: Ridge didn't go to Nick out of spite. He's just trying to protect Forrester Creations.

Thorne: He can justify it all he wants. I know what he's doing.

Sally: Forrester has never done business this way.

Brooke: We've had the high-end exclusivity clause in all of our contracts for years.

Clarke: Sure, but how many times have you enforced it?

Brooke: We never had to before. Because no high-end boutique would showcase a start-up line. And nick is new to this business. Plus, he has a personal relationship with you, which has swayed his judgment.

Felicia: That's ridiculous. Nick is a businessman. He was going to pick up our line because he knew that it would sell and it would make him money. And he knew that because we got great reviews. We earned this, Brooke.

Darla: We deserve a chance. Brooke, this just isn't right.

Clarke: And as Thorne said, it's probably not even legal.

Thorne: And it's definitely immoral.

Brooke: Just like getting the vendors to deal with you and not with Forrester. How many collections has spectra stolen from us now? Don't you dare take the moral high ground, Thorne. Because if there's any illegal behavior in this situation, it's yours.

Thorne: You're right, Brooke, stealing your designs was wrong. And I regret it. But we're not doing that anymore and I stopped selling the ones that we had. Now, one would think Ridge would be happy about that, that he would respect us. But what does he do? He's punishing us.

Brooke: You can't look at it that way.

Felicia: How else can we look at it, Brooke?

Brooke: You asked us to be fair, and that's what this is. We've been more than fair. We could've prosecuted you for stealing our designs, but we didn't. We didn't have to agree to the "showdown," where you got these wonderful reviews, but we did. No other start-up company has had that opportunity. And now you want more special favors?

Thorne: Special favors? Brooke, we're asking you not to torpedo us.

Brooke: Because you're family.

Thorne: No! Because it's the wrong thing to do.

Darla: I can't even believe you want to be a part of this, Brooke.

Sally: She doesn't, Darla. She's simply standing by her man, right or wrong.

Brooke: This is a sound business decision.

Thorne: Brooke, I know you pretty well. And you know Ridge extremely well. In your heart of hearts, do you honestly believe there's nothing personal about what Ridge is doing? Do you? That's what I thought.

Rick: I thought you'd gone home.

Caitlin: Yeah, well, I was kind of hoping that we'd have a chance to talk.

Rick: Yeah, I haven't really been that available lately, have I? I'm sorry.

Caitlin: Well, you've been getting ready for Milan.

Rick: Yeah. You're still upset?

Caitlin: No, I'm not upset about it. I'm sorry, okay? Everyone just keeps asking me that.

Rick: Everyone?

Caitlin: My dad.

Rick: Oh.

Caitlin: But it's just a business trip. It's no big deal. Right?

Rick: Right. Hey, how 'bout dinner? Cafe Russe?

Caitlin: Tonight?

Rick: Yeah. Unless you have other plans?

Caitlin: No, no. Okay, that would be great.

Rick: All right. Let me just finish some stuff up here, and we'll go.

Caitlin: Okay. Let me just my dad, and then I'm all yours.

Rick: All right.

Amber: What's the matter, Thomas? Hmm?

Thomas: Nothing.

Amber: Nothing? It's not like you to be so uptight.

Thomas: I'm not uptight, I'm just --

Amber: Shy?

Thomas: I'm supposed to get all this work done by the end of the day.

Amber: I know. I should get back to work, too. But we just haven't had much time to spend alone together. You know, with you at your dad's, and me at Stephanie's. I know it's been hard on both of us.

Thomas: And I understand why you want to be there.

Amber: It's for us. To show her how much I care about you. To prove that our relationship is real.

Thomas: Not like this.

Amber: We're just kissing.

Oh, that's the problem. Well, that's easy enough to take care of.

Thomas: No, don't do that.

Amber: What? Sorry. I just --

Thomas: No, it's just --

Amber: No, no. It's okay. It's cool. You're stressed about work and I'm not helping, as much as I'd like to be. So why don't you give me a call when you get finished, and we'll hook up?

Thomas: I've got a lot of homework.

Amber: Well, whenever. I love you.

Thomas: Me, too.

Amber: Bye.

Caitlin: Hi.

Thomas: Hey.

Caitlin: How you doing?

Thomas: Okay. Busy. Things really got backed up while I was gone.

Caitlin: Yeah. We missed you around here. Can I help?

Thomas: Don't ask me that, 'cause I'll say yes.

Caitlin: Here, I'll take these.

Caitlin: So things must be going pretty good with you and your dad for you to come back to work.

Thomas: Well, he's not in town. So that helps.

Caitlin: Oh. So you guys aren't talking much?

Thomas: Safer not to.

Caitlin: Yeah. I remember when my dad and I weren't really talking. That was hard.

Thomas: Well, at least you had your mom on your side. You know, she could work on him for you.

Caitlin: You must really miss your mom right now.

Thomas: Yeah, I do.

Caitlin: How do you think she'd feel about all of this? You and Amber.

Thomas: Well, I think she would at least sit down and talk to me before she made up her mind.

Caitlin: Smart lady.

Thomas: And she wouldn't hold a grudge against Amber for things she did in her past.

Caitlin: No. But she might not be so cool with the things Amber's doing now.

Brooke: Ridge has always been very competitive.

Thorne: This goes way beyond that, and you know it.

Darla: If he wanted to compete, Brooke, he'd let nick carry our line.

Sally: Of course he would. This is nothing but pure, unadulterated jealousy.

Thorne: And not only is it not good for us, it's not good for him, Brooke.

Brooke: What are you talking about?

Thorne: He's rooting for his brother and sister to fail. He's sabotaging us. That goes against who Ridge is.

Felicia: Thorne is right. We grew up with Ridge. You know, he's always been stubborn, cocky, sometimes downright arrogant. But he has never been vindictive or cold.

Thorne: And he's going to regret these things, Brooke. The same way that I regret stealing dad's lines. I was so convinced that I had to play hardball to prove my point. But Brooke, I saw what I did through dad's eyes and mother's. And let me tell you something, that was a very hollow victory. Now, if ridge succeeds in driving us out of business or ripping this family to shreds, he's gonna feel the same way. He's gonna feel sick inside, Brooke, just like I did. And is that what you want to happen?

Felicia: It's already happening. I live with you. I see. I see how angry he has become.

Thorne: That's what I don't get. What does he have to be angry about now? I'm not trying to take over Forrester, I'm not knocking off Forrester, I'm not trying to mover him out. I've moved on. Now, I thought Ridge and I were finally getting back on the right track. After the showdown -- he was impressed, Brooke. He even came over and congratulated me. And I thought he was sincere.

Brooke: He was.

Thorne: Okay then. What happened between then and now? Why is he so bitter?

Thomas: Amber hasn't done anything to me.

Caitlin: You don't think you've changed?

Thomas: Sure. I'm a man now. What?

Caitlin: Having sex does not make you a man, Thomas. It's how you overcome the challenges in your life, like losing your mom, and your relationship with Amber and your family.

Thomas: You don't think I can handle it?

Caitlin: You tell me.

Thomas: Uh, yeah, I could if everyone would leave us alone.

Caitlin: I'm not judging you, or Amber. I just want you to know that you don't have to go through this alone. Look, I know things got kind of messed up with us, but I'd really just like to be friends.

Thomas: I'd like that, too.

Caitlin: Good. I know what it's like to feel cut off from the people you care about.

Thomas: Yeah, well, at least your parents finally came around.

Caitlin: Well, mine still worry.

Thomas: They don't trust you?

Caitlin: No, they're concerned. That's their job.

Thomas: Yeah, well, my family's taken that job a little too seriously if you ask me. Look, I'm sorry. I'm just not in the mood to have a lecture about how my family's right to worry.

Caitlin: Okay, you're right. You don't need another lecture. You need something else that will do you a lot more good.

Thomas: Like what?

Caitlin: This. I'm sorry that things have been so hard for you, Thomas.

Thomas: Thanks. I guess I did need that.

Brooke: This whole situation has been hard on Ridge. You attacking the family.

Thorne: But I'm not doing anymore, Brooke, and the whole family knows it. Look at this -- mom and dad gave this to me today as a token of their appreciation and respect.

Darla: They're trying to bring us all back together, Brooke.

Thorne: How do you think they're going to react when they find out that Ridge is trying to tear us apart?

Brooke: That's not his intention.

Thorne: But that will be the end result, Brooke. They're not gonna back him on this, and you will be forced to choose a side. And just like that, this family will be divided again.

Brooke: Right. Stephanie will be able to blame it on me.

Thorne: Ridge has put you in an impossible situation.

Brooke: No, Thorne, you have. You're trying to set me against my husband.

Thorne: Brooke, I'm trying to show you what's at stake here. Forrester can survive with Spectra in the same boutique. But this family, it may not survive another showdown, Brooke.

Brooke: This has nothing to do with the family. This is a business decision.

Felicia: You don't really believe that.

Thorne: Something's wrong, Brooke. And I know you see it. This competition between Ridge and I, it should be over. We had the fashion show, and Forrester won. I got the respect that I wanted. Now we can all move on with our lives, except for Ridge. He's holding a grudge, and I think you know why. You don't have to tell us what it is, Brooke. You just have to stop him from acting on it. Brooke, you know better than anyone how much damage this kind of jealousy and animosity can cost. You've lived with it for years. Fighting with my mother. Brooke, you have watched the bitterness eat her up inside. Now, look what I did over jealousy. Look what I did, Brooke. I stole from my own family, because I lost all perspective. And that's what has happened to Ridge. I don't know why, and I wish I could get through to him, but I doubt that I can, Brooke. But you can. You can get him to back down. You can get him to drop this vendetta, Brooke. Please. If you won't do it for us, do it for him.

Announcer: On the next "bold and the beautiful" --

Nick: This boils down to business.

Thorne: For you. But for Ridge, it's personal. He's trying to strike back at me through you.

Caitlin: I really wish you weren't going.

Rick: Caitlin, I have to go. It's business. I want to go.

Thorne: Mother, dad, I'm going to need your support like never before.
