Stephanie: Amber, honey, what's wrong? Sweetheart, do you need a drink of water? Can I get you something?

Amber: No, no, I just -- I just feel a little bit queasy. It's my stomach. It's probably stress.

Stephanie: Well, we know how to get rid of that stress, don't we?

Amber: No more lectures, okay?

Stephanie: Amber, I'm not going to ask you to give up your friendship with Thomas.

Amber: You're not?

Stephanie: No. But friendship is as far as it goes from now on.

Nick: I know exactly what you're talkin' about. Let's see those requisitions. Port schedules. Mackenzie's the man in the gulf. We have to have him. You tell him that I'm counting on him. Yeah. Keep me posted on that. Thank you.

Employee: We'll get back to you.

Brooke: Wow.

Nick: Hello.

Brooke: Hello. When I called you said you weren't busy.

Nick: Busy? No, I'm not. Should've been here before. I had a line going from the desk out to the hall.

Brooke: Oh, everybody wants face time with the boss.

Nick: Well, they'll just have to settle for me now, until the real boss gets back. Want something to drink?

Brooke: Sure.

Nick: Water?

Brooke: Great. So, it couldn't be easy, stepping in the way you have.

Nick: Well, I'm certainly not my old man.

Brooke: You seem to be holding your own. Thanks. Ridge has being keeping me up to date on Massimo's condition. And I just wanted to check on you and see how you were doing.

Nick: I'm doing fine.

Brooke: You would tell me if you weren't, right? We are still friends. I know I haven't been around much lately, but I --

Nick: You're busy. Back at Forrester. You're raising a family. I'm sure you've got a lot on your plate.

[ Calypso music playing ]

Thomas: Another one, please. And keep the change.

Rob: T-bone.

Thomas: Hey, what's up, man.

Rob: Where you been? I haven't seen you all summer.

Thomas: Ah, you know, I've -- I've had a lot going on.

Rob: Oh, yeah?

Thomas: Yeah.

Rob: You gotta fill me in later, I gotta scram.

Thomas: All right, dude, see you 'round.

Rob: Stay cool, daddy-O.

Thomas: All right.

Caitlin: Daddy-o?

Thomas: It's retro.

Caitlin: How are you?

Thomas: Couldn't be better. How 'bout yourself?

Caitlin: Busy. Work, school.

Thomas: Rick.

Caitlin: Yeah.

Thomas: Cool.

Caitlin: So, I miss seeing you at Forrester.

Thomas: Yeah, well, you know the way things are between my dad and I.

Caitlin: Right.

Thomas: But it's getting better.

Caitlin: Now that Amber's left town?

Thomas: Now that she's back.

Caitlin: What about the restraining order?

Thomas: Oh, that. Yeah, it was totally bogus. Amber and I are closer than ever.

Amber: Stephanie -- Thomas and I -- we've already crossed that line. And you just said --

Stephanie: You won't cross it again.

Amber: Just stop?

Stephanie: Yes.

Amber: We're in love with each other.

Stephanie: Amber, if you really love him, you will not complicate his young life with sex.

Amber: It's not just sex, okay? It's an expression of our feelings and emotions and our -- our commitment to each other.

Stephanie: Well, find another way to express it.

Amber: You're serious?

Stephanie: You bet I'm serious.

Amber: My relationship with Thomas has changed. Once you become intimate with someone you create that special bond. You can't just go back --

Stephanie: You can. And you will.

Amber: He's 18, Stephanie. It's not illegal!

Stephanie: It's not a matter of age. It's a question of maturity. My god, he's never even had a serious girlfriend. You're older than he is. You were married. He should be dating someone in high school. Someone his own age. Just having fun. Not being concerned about some sort of commitment. He's not prepared for all of this.

Amber: For what?

Stephanie: For the risks, for the emotions! For everything that's involved!

Amber: Oh --

Stephanie: Amber?

Amber: Oh --

Stephanie: Did you actually throw up?

Amber: Yeah.

Stephanie: Why did you bother to come to work if you were this sick?

Amber: I felt fine earlier. It just, like, hit me all of a sudden. Now, I'm all sweaty and nauseous. Maybe I'm having a panic attack. That's it. That's it. It's the stress of a new job and everyone's coming down on me and Thomas and --

Stephanie: I hope that's all it is, is an anxiety attack.

Amber: You hope?

Stephanie: Yes. It could be another reason and then you'd have every reason to be panicked.

Amber: What?

Stephanie: How long have you two been sleeping together?

Amber: Oh, you just won't quit, will you?

Stephanie: How long?

Amber: No.

Stephanie: This nausea could be indicative of something. You could be pregnant.

Amber: No way.

Stephanie: Amber, when you lost the baby, what exactly did the doctors tell you? Did they say that you couldn't carry another child to full-term, or that you couldn't get pregnant again?

Amber: Yeah. Yeah, that's what he said. I think so. I don't know! It was so long ago, and I'd just lost my baby. I was in shock. Stephanie, will you take me home?

Stephanie: No, I'm not gonna take you home, but I am gonna take you some place.

Brooke: I've been keeping up with you. Word gets around the fashion industry. You're a major player now.

Nick: Oh, the boutiques? No, no, no, those are my mother's.

Brooke: You're the president.

Nick: She's the fashion guru. I just sign the checks.

Brooke: And those checks will be coming in more than they go out, believe me.

Nick: Let's hope so.

Brooke: I'm not sure if you're aware of how much power you're going to have.

Nick: Power? It's just a little store.

Brooke: These boutiques carry a huge influence in the fashion industry. Your buyers could make or break a design house.

Nick: What buyers?

Brooke: Oh, boy. You do need help.

Nick: You offering?

Brooke: Would you accept if I did?

Caitlin: Wait a second. So your dad dropped the restraining order against Amber?

Thomas: Yeah, it was either that or have me challenge him in court. I'm 18, there's no way it would hold up. I can see who I want.

Caitlin: And he's okay with that?

Thomas: I wouldn't say that, but he's dealing with it.

Caitlin: Well, yeah, you're not giving him much choice.

Thomas: Well, why should I? I mean, it's none of his business, you know? Amber and I are adults. We have this adult relationship.

Caitlin: Oh. Well, you know, you've been through a lot this summer.

Thomas: Yeah, it's all good, though. Grew me up. When I think about how immature I was.

Caitlin: Thomas, you don't think you and Amber are moving too fast?

Thomas: No. No, I -- what does that even mean, moving too fast? According to who? I mean, as long as it feels right to both of us, what's the big deal? I don't see what everyone's worried about.

[ Cell phone rings ]

Thomas: Excuse me. Hello?

Amber: Thomas, it's me.

Thomas: Amber, baby, what's up?

Amber: Oh, I --

Stephanie: Tom?

Thomas: Grandma?

Stephanie: Tom, I'm taking amber to the doctor.

Thomas: What?

Stephanie: I'm gonna take her to Dr. Dennis Sobel. S-o-b-e-L. He's at the medical arts center.

Thomas: Why? What for?

Stephanie: She's going to have a pregnancy test, tom.

Thomas: Oh, god.

Stephanie: I want you to meet us there, right now.

Thomas: Okay. I'm on my way.

Caitlin: Thomas, is something wrong?

Thomas: I have to go.

Caitlin: Okay. Well, I'll see you later, daddy-O.

Brooke: The first thing you need to know, these boutiques that your father bought, they're the most exclusive in the world.

Nick: Well, it's not like he's a dummy.

Brooke: No, and neither is your mother. She's very well respected in the fashion industry.

Nick: It's a good thing she's CEO.

Brooke: True. But she's going to be very busy taking care of your father, so there's going to be a lot of people knocking at your door.

Nick: What for?

Brooke: For placement, shelf space. A few gowns in the window at Jackie M. Would make any fashion house a household name.

Nick: Not my household. I haven't heard of any of these people, except for the name Forrester.

Brooke: That's because you shop for your clothes at a army-navy store. Look, believe me, these people know these names. Even if they can't afford them. These boutiques have been trendsetters for decades.

Nick: Now I'm a trendsetter?

Brooke: Yes. And you have a very big responsibility.

Nick: Well, I better start practicing my eenie, meenie, minie, moes.

Brooke: Hmm, you can leave that alone for now. You have an exceptional line-up.

Nick: Even if you do say so yourself.

Brooke: Forrester will never let you down. We're gonna send you nothing but the best.

Nick: Isn't it that way with everybody?

Brooke: Actually, no. Especially not with those so-called "up-and-comers."

Nick: Oh. I've been hearing some good things about spectra. That's their name. I'm hearing good things about them lately.

Brooke: From Felicia?

Nick: Yeah, she works over there now.

Brooke: She's never been one to look before she leaps.

Nick: God bless her. Anyway, back to Spectra, right? You think she made the wrong decision?

Brooke: The point is, I don't want you to make one. Nick, don't give Spectra Couture a second thought. Their designs do not belong in Jackie M.

Nurse: Have a seat. Dr. Sobel will be with you in a moment.

Stephanie: Thank you very much.

Amber: Stephanie, this is completely unnecessary.

Stephanie: Well, we're about to find out whether it is or not.

Stephanie: Hello, Dr. Sobel. Thank you so much for seeing us so quickly.

Dr. Sobel: Certainly. Amber, you think you might be pregnant.

Amber: No.

Stephanie: She's been nauseated.

Amber: I had a tuna sandwich for lunch. Maybe it was bad.

Stephanie: My grandson and Amber have been sleeping together.

Amber: How many times do I have to say it? I can't get pregnant.

Stephanie: Dr. Sobel, she's not certain about that.

Amber: I lost my baby. There were complications, because I only have one kidney.

Dr. Sobel: Hmm, what sort of complications?

Amber: I had a -- a renal artery aneurysm that ruptured. I was hemorrhaging, they had to do emergency surgery. And whatever they did, it meant that I can't have kids anymore.

Dr. Sobel: "Whatever they did?"

Amber: Yeah. I don't know what the procedure was called. You know, all I know is that the doctor told me that -- that I wasn't gonna be able to be a mother, and I lost it, okay?

Dr. Sobel: That's understandable. Maybe if I talked to your doctor.

Amber: Dr. Wilson. He's at the university. Go ahead. You can call him and ask him yourself. This is so pointless.

Stephanie: No, it isn't. We've got to be sure. And this isn't just for your sake, it's for tom, as well.

Amber: Fine. Just go get the stick and let's get it over with.

Dr. Sobel: The stick?

Amber: Yeah, you know, positive, negative, the test.

Dr. Sobel: We do have those, but a blood test would be more accurate.

Amber: Um, I don't do needles.

Stephanie: She'll do the blood test.

Dr. Sobel: Roll up your sleeve, please.

Stephanie: Come on.

Amber: I -- I -- I have blood issues.

Dr. Sobel: It'll be okay.

Amber: Um --

Dr. Sobel: Now, make a fist.

Amber: You know, um -- this is totally --

Dr. Sobel: This is gonna feel -- just a little bit of a prick.

Amber: Unnecessary.

Dr. Sobel: You can relax. Almost -- there. Hold that. I'll get this down to the lab right away.

[ Knock on door ]

Thomas: Amber, the nurse said that -- are you okay? I got here as fast as I could.

Amber: Yeah, I'm just a little woozy.

Stephanie: Dr. Sobel, this is my grandson. Tom. Tom, this is Dr. Sobel.

Thomas: Did I get here in time? Did you take the test? Could you really be --

Stephanie: Pregnant, Tom?

Brooke: Jackie M. Boutiques cater to a very discriminating clientele.

Nick: So, you're saying you don't think that they would buy Spectra?

Brooke: No.

Nick: Well, Felicia seems to think it's changing over there.

Brooke: Well, they're making a go of it. But Thorne would never be able to compete with Forrester Creations.

Nick: You're not a little biased, are you?

Brooke: No, I'm just being honest. We have Ridge and Eric Forrester.

Nick: Well, they got a couple Forresters over there, too.

Brooke: Nick, I realize that you and Felicia have gotten close. But I have to tell you, from one fashion executive to the another, she's been out of the game for a very long time. And even when she was in it --

Nick: What?

Brooke: Well, she's -- she is talented. But she doesn't have any discipline. She's was a rebel. She wouldn't take directions, she kind of stirred things up.

Nick: Sounds a little like me.

Brooke: You know I would never give you advice on your personal life. That is none of my business. But when it comes to fashion, I will. So if you ever need advice on these boutiques, please, call me.

Nick: I don't know much about the fashion world, and I can't say I really want to. All I really want is my father back behind his desk.

Brooke: I'm sorry. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Brooke: Felicia?

Felicia: So, I don't know anything about the fashion industry?

Thomas: I don't get it. You told me you couldn't get pregnant.

Amber: I can't.

Thomas: Then what are we doing here?!

Amber: We're wasting time!

Stephanie: No, we are not! We're making sure about this.

Thomas: You think her doctor was wrong?

Stephanie: Well, she doesn't know. She doesn't remember whether he said that she can't carry a baby to full-term, or she could get pregnant again. Isn't that what you said? You were in a state of shock and you do not clearly remember what the doctor told you?

Thomas: Oh, man.

Stephanie: Well, you wouldn't listen, would you?

Amber: You know, I think it's a little early for "I told you sos". I mean, we don't even know anything.

Thomas: How long do we have to wait?

Amber: It's not gonna be long. Dr. Sobel put a rush on it.

Stephanie: You wanted to be a man.

Amber: Will you leave him alone!

Stephanie: Oh, now you're going to protect him?

Amber: The situation is stressful enough. You don't have to make it worse.

Stephanie: I don't think it could get much worse. You could be carrying his child and he's barely more than a child himself.

Amber: Stop it! Can't you see you're freaking him out?!

Stephanie: Well somebody has to "freak him out"! This could be a terrible, tragic mistake! One that could easily have been avoided.

Amber: For all we know, I have the flu or I just ate something really bad!

Stephanie: Amber, I just hope that's all it is! Because I don't think you realize the seriousness of this. And I don't think you do, either! When that doctor walks through the door, with the results of that test, your life and her life can change just like that! You wanted to be an adult? Well, you got your wish.

Amber: Oh, now, you're just being mean.

Stephanie: No, I'm not! Oh, no, I'm not. I'm trying to make the two of you understand the gravity of this situation.

Amber: Are those my test results? Am I pregnant?

Announcer: On the next "bold and the beautiful" --

Amber: We didn't mean for this to happen.

Stephanie: And it shouldn't have happened. There are really difficult decisions ahead for you.

Thomas: And I will make them.
