You got a friend in me you got a friend in me when the road looks rough ahead and you are miles and miles from your nice warm bed you just remember what

Massimo: Did you actually think that you could sleep with my wife and get away with it? I hope it was memorable, Mr. Sharpe, because it's the costliest mistake that you will ever make.

                        *****************************************************************************************

Stephanie: God, Amber, how many times? How many times have I talked to you and tried to make you understand one simple thing -- in order to feel good about yourself, you have to do the right thing in life. And you just can't seem to do that. You're just always going for the quick fix.

[ Door bell rings ]

                        *******************************************************************************************

Brooke: Oh, Stephanie. If you're here to see the children, they're already down for the night.

Stephanie: Unfortunately, not all of them. Tom? I drove him home.

Brooke: Something wrong with your car?

Stephanie: I didn't trust him to come home on his own. Do you have any idea where he was tonight, Brooke, or who he was with?

Brooke: You went to Insomnia, right?

Stephanie: Did you know Amber's working there?

Brooke: No. So you found them together?

Stephanie: Actually, I found her in the manager's office putting her clothes back on.

Brooke: And where was Thomas?

Stephanie: He'd gone out get a little snack. They worked up quite an appetite, apparently.

Brooke: Thomas, you didn't? Your father filed a restraining order. Amber's not supposed to be anywhere near you!

Thomas: What are you doing?

Brooke: I'm calling the police.

Thomas: Like hell you are! No one's hassling Amber anymore! Put the phone down, right now!

                        **************************************************************************************

Nick: It's good to see you happy.

Jackie: Oh, Nicky. Well, there's a lot to celebrate, isn't there? You know, the best part is -- I am going to be working side-by-side with my son in this business venture.

Nick: It's nice. What about your pal, Deacon Sharpe? You going to be able to work with him? Given all the accusations he's made about you having an affair.

Jackie: Darling, please, my focus is not on Deacon Sharpe. Or the business for that matter. No, my focus is on your father. The fact that he has forgiven me, that he trusts me again, all of my energies are going to go into becoming -- worthy of that trust.

Nick: That means no more secrets, Mother.

                        ***********************************************************************************************

Deacon: All right, man, look, you're trippin' here. I don't know what you heard, I don't know who told you what --

Massimo: You did, you sorry son of a bitch! You and my wife! Right in this room! I was standing right at that door and I heard you admit to your filthy little affair.

Deacon: All right, Massimo. You got me. Jackie and I were involved.

                        *************************************************************************************

Thomas: How did it feel when Caitlin's dad threatened to call the cops on Rick? Oh, but that was different, right?

Brooke: Yes, it is, and you know it. Amber ruined Rick's life! Now, I couldn't stop that, but I am going to stop this.

Thomas: It's stopped, okay! Grandma made Amber leave town. You sic the cops on her, and I swear, I will find her before they do. I'll go to Vegas and marry her.

Stephanie: Oh, for god's sakes, Tom --

Thomas: Try to enforce a restraining order then! Put the phone down, or I'm getting my stuff and leaving right now.

Brooke: Fine. No police. But your father's going to hear about this.

Thomas: I'm sure he will. That's all you care about, is scoring points with dad. Both of you.

Stephanie: Tom -- we only want what's best for you.

Brooke: We know what Amber's capable of. You have to trust me on this.

Thomas: You know what, Brooke? I don't have to. Because you're not my mother, you're never going to be my mother, and you're not telling me what to do!

[ Booke sighs ]

Brooke: Stephanie, just save it.

Stephanie: I promised Taylor that I would take care of her children, and I intend to. And after what has transpired this evening, it's very apparent to me that this boy needs a mother.

                        ***************************************************************************************

Massimo: I hired you to look after Jacqueline. I trusted you with private, confidential business. And the all the time, she was in your bed.

Deacon: No. No, it wasn't until after you threw her out.

Massimo: You expect me to believe that?

Deacon: Oh, c'mon, give me a break! You -- you gave her divorce papers, Massimo. You said you didn't want her anymore. That much was clear.

Massimo: Ah, I see. So you're saying that you took advantage of her when she was weak.

Deacon: What do you think?! Yes, she was weak. The man of her dreams just kicked her to the curb. You made it clear you didn't want to see her anymore. Massimo, she was devastated. Look, man, for what it's worth, I didn't plan this. She was in pain, I was there -- there was an attraction.

Massimo: I know the way your wormy little mind works. It's payback time! Because I refused you a job, you're little shot at greatness, see. So you said, " well, I'm going to take something from him." So you bided your time, you waited for your opportunity. And you got it, didn't you? Well, now I'm going to take something from you.

                        *************************************************************************************

Amber: Thomas. How can I just leave you?

[ Knock on door ]

Thomas: Go away.

Brooke: I can't. Not until we talk.

Thomas: What for? I know what you're going to say. I've heard it from dad, Stephanie, Caitlin and Rick. But none of you have bothered to ask how I feel. You think you all know -- teenage boy's got it bad for the hot older chick. But there's so much more to that. You have no clue.

Brooke: Well, then help me understand. Why is Amber so important to you?

                        *************************************************************************************

Thomas: She listens. She thinks I'm cool and funny -- and it's not an act.

Brooke: I'm sure it's not.

Thomas: She's real. She lets me be real. She doesn't judge me when I say something stupid. She gets me. And I don't feel so alone when I'm with her.

Brooke: Oh, sweetie. You're not alone.

Thomas: Yes. I am. There was one person in my life who makes me feel needed and important. And you all want to take her away. It's not fair.

                        *****************************************************************************************

Deacon: This where you pull out the gun?

Massimo: Tempting. But no. Too easy. Too painless. See, I want you to suffer. I want to make your life a living hell. It's all right, deacon, don't worry. You don't have to be afraid of hiding the fact that you are a coward. Because we both know that you're not man enough to face me, so you go behind my back and seduce my wife. I heard you just now, begging her to come back to you. You are so pathetic!

Deacon: You know, Massimo, there is one thing I think you ought to know about the time that I spent with Jackie.

Massimo: What is that?

Deacon: She's a lot happier with me.

Massimo: Oh-ho! Yes, I'm sure. You're so far above me. All the wonderful aspects of your personality. Deacon -- the failure. Deacon -- the alcoholic. Deacon -- the deadbeat dad. You know what I don't understand is, what -- what do you have with these rich, older women? I mean, first it was your mother-in-law. Now Jacqueline. Is it possible that you are looking for a mother figure? 'Course, I wouldn't blame you from what I hear, if you tried to replace the original one, because she was one hell of a number!

Deacon: Shut your mouth!

Massimo: Why? I should think you would be very happy to have someone to blame on your miserable life! I mean, the fact that you have absolutely no honor, no integrity, no courage whatsoever! You know, I changed my mind, Deacon. I think the world will be better off if you were dead!

Deacon: You want it? Come on, bring it!

Jackie: I got

                        *************************************************************************************************

Brooke: I'm sorry you feel this way. So alone. I certainly know what that feels like. And how it can make you do things or turn to people that you normally wouldn't.

Thomas: You're twisting my words.

Brooke: No.

Thomas: Amber took advantage, that's what you're saying? You know what? Forget it. I don't want to hear it any more.

Brooke: You must really miss her right now.

Thomas: She'd listen to me. Maybe -- maybe she wouldn't be so crazy about me being with Amber, but she wouldn't dismiss my feelings.

Brooke: If Taylor were here right now, you wouldn't even be with Amber.

Thomas: You don't know that, Brooke. You don't know what my mom would say, because you're nothing like her.

Brooke: Well, that's true. Your mother and I were very different. But we were both mothers. Do you want me to tell you what I think your mother would say if she were here? She'd say, "I'm so proud of you, Thomas. The man that you're becoming. So kind and compassionate. So strong and protective. The way you take care of the family. I just wish you had as much confidence in yourself and in your future as I do, because it's going to be so exciting. So full of meaning, purpose. And people are going to love you. They're going to think you're very special. And they're going to love you the same way I do. Because I do love you.

Thomas: Is that -- is that my mom talking or is that you?

Brooke: I guess it's both of us.

Thomas: I miss her so much.

Brooke: I know.

Thomas: It's never gonna stop hurting.

Brooke: Oh, it's gonna get better. I promise.

                        **********************************************************************************************

Jackie: Deacon, I thought you'd left.

Massimo: No. No, no, no, no, no. He was just filling me on a few things. Some particular tastes of yours that I was not aware of. Root beer. Boogie-boarding. Sleeping with beach bum gigolos.

Deacon: Jackie, I'm sorry. He knows that we were seeing each other, but that it didn't start until after he threw you out.

Jackie: Massimo, you don't understand.

Massimo: Oh, I think I do. Deacon told me how miserable, unhappy you were. And how wonderful it was for him to comfort you.

Jackie: I was going to tell you tonight. I've been wanting to tell you. But I was just --

Massimo: Afraid, Jacqueline? Hmm? Maybe just a little apprehensive that this might not sit well with me? Your dirty, disgusting fling!

Jackie: Massimo, please?

Massimo: Don't touch me. Don't you ever touch me again.

                        *****************************************************************************************

[ Knock on the door ]

Amber: Thomas?

Brooke: Hello, Amber. Leaving town? Smart move. Because if you stay here one more night, you're going to end up in jail. Or were you unclear about the restraining order concept?

Amber: No, it's crystal clear, Brooke. In fact, you didn't have to come all the way down here to explain it to me. I've already been through it all with Stephanie.

Brooke: Once again, you seduced a trusting, inexperienced, wealthy boy!

Amber: Yeah. You can make it sound as twisted and disgusting as you want, but I know what's really going on here. And so does Thomas. What we have, it's -- it's beautiful. And I'm in love with him.

Brooke: "Love"? You don't even know the meaning of the word.

Amber: Oh, no, of course, not, right? Because I'm just some trashy, blonde opportunist from the wrong side of the tracks? Yeah. Who will do anything to get back into the family. And I'll sleep with whoever I want to do it. Sound familiar, Brooke? Stephanie's said the same thing about you for years.

Brooke: Are you comparing yourself to me?

Amber: Oh, no. No, you're not like me. Not anymore. Now you're just like Stephanie. Coming down on me, 'cause I fell in love with the wrong person. Somebody who I wasn't worthy of.

Brooke: This isn't even love, Amber, you took advantage of Thomas when he was lonely and hurting.

Amber: Yeah, well, you took advantage of Ridge after his wife died! That's what Stephanie said, right? It wasn't true of you. It's not true of me, either. No. You know, I fell in love with two men named Forrester. Now you can't tell me that you can't relate? You can't tell me that you don't know how amazing this family is? I mean, Rick, he's Eric's son. Thomas is ridge's son. They both inherited these incredible qualities. I mean, you fell in love with both of their fathers. I mean, I know you know where I'm coming from.

Brooke: No, this is not going to work!

Amber: Well, I'm just -- I'm not asking you for anything except just to give us a chance! God, just think about it, Brooke, what your life would have been like if Stephanie even once -- just once -- just tried to think about where you were coming from. Instead of always judging you and treating you like the enemy. Well, I'm not the enemy, either! God, Brooke, come on, just -- just give me the chance that Stephanie never gave you. Just let me love him.
