Amber: Big, bad Ridge. Judges in his pocket. Cops following orders. But he can't control his own son. He definitely can't control me.

Eric: So you'd be willing to put Amber in jail?

Ridge: To protect my son? You bet I would.

Eric: Yeah, but a restraining order? Have you told Thomas about this?

Ridge: Oh, I'm sure Amber may have told him by now.

Eric: No, but you haven't spoken to him about it?

Ridge: He got in late. Wasn't up when I left this morning.

Eric: Well, you're going to have to have this conversation with him.

Ridge: I will. Believe me.

Eric: He's going to be very upset with you.

Ridge: That's okay, Dad. That's okay. If I can't trust him to make the right decision, I'm going to make it impossible for him to make the wrong one. I don't care how far I have to go here, this is a battle I am not going to lose.

Eric: Refresh my memory, which battles have you been willing to lose?

Ridge: So which is it, Darla, huh? Are you a criminal genius or a dingbat? Forrester Creations was built around designers with vision, not by being counters worried about the bottom line.

Darla: Bagel delivery for Mr. Thorne Forrester.

Thorne: How did you know?

Darla: Well, you barely touched your dinner and you left before breakfast. So there you go, babe.

Thorne: I know, I have been consumed with this showing.

Darla: I know. I know, I know, I know. I'm not complaining. You know something?

Thorne: What?

Darla: I'm so proud of you.

Thorne: Yeah?

Darla: Yes, I am.

Thorne: Well, I couldn't have done it without you.

Darla: That's not true.

Thorne: No, it is true. You and Alexandria are my inspiration. Knowing that I have your support. You're on my side no matter what.

Darla: Yeah.

Thorne: Now I know where Ridge gets it from.

Darla: Where he gets what?

Thorne: His confidence. His belief that he just won't fail. That's exactly how I feel.

Ridge: I don't know what Thomas is thinking, Dad, I really don't.

Eric: Come on, Ridge, you were 18 once. An attractive older woman shows an interest in you.

Ridge: No, this is Amber. This is amber we're talking about. Thomas knows what she did to Rick. What happened to him. Now, history is not going to repeat itself. I made sure of that.

Thomas: Pretty proud of yourself, are you? Nice work, Dad. Very subtle.

Ridge: It was for your own good.

Thomas: A restraining order?

Ridge: Don't make me out to be the bad guy here. I did this to protect you.

Thomas: You psyched yourself into believing that Amber's dangerous.

Ridge: Because, Thomas, that's exactly what she is.

[ Knock on door ]

Amber: I knew he'd come back. Bad, bad boy. C.J.!

C.J.: Is this a bad time?

Amber: No. No, -- I -- I just got up.

C.J.: Yeah, must be nice, sleeping in.

Amber: Well, you know, I was up really late.

C.J.: Was that with the bad, bad boy?

Amber: Oh, so when did you get back in town?

C.J.: Amber, you told me on the phone that you were going to end it with Thomas.

Amber: Who says it was Thomas? You know? I mean, who says it was anybody? I mean, for your information, I was all by my lonesome.

C.J.: Amber, you had sex with him? Are you crazy? Do you know what his family will do to you if they find out?

Thorne: Do you know how many requests I've been getting for this press kit?

Darla: Well, do you think we need to move the showing to someplace bigger to accommodate all the people?

Thorne: No, honey, we keep it small and we keep it exclusive.

Clarke: Did you see this?

Thorne: Yes, I did.

Darla: What is it?

Thorne: The princess's visit made the society column.

Darla: Oh, my --

Clarke: "Her elegance was reportedly given a private preview of the newest collection by spectra couture, now captained by president Thorne Forrester. Our source reveals the princess handpicked a Spectra Design to wear to her gallery opening next month in Vienna. Quite a coup for Spectra Couture." You know, everybody I know is dying to get their hands on tickets for our showing.

[ Knock on door ] I'll get that. Jackie.

Jackie: Hello.

Clarke: What a surprise.

Thorne: Actually, it's not. I asked Jackie to stop by. To personally invite you to our showing tomorrow.

Jackie: Well, it's very kind of you.

Thorne: No, it's not. You're the west coast buyer for Fenmore's.

Clarke: The most forward-thinking department store in the industry. A leader in fashion.

Thorne: That's correct. Which will make a perfect match for us when we launch our new line.

Jackie: Thorne, I know you're very well aware of the problems that ridge has with me and --

Thorne: Yes, I am. I also know he's not making it easy for you to do your job. I can relate.

Jackie: I have a responsibility to bring my customers the best that current fashion has to offer.

Thorne: Yes, you do. And this season, that will be spectra couture. Come to the showing, Jackie, you won't be disappointed.

Jackie: All right, I'll be there.

C.J.: Well, it's official, you've completely lost your mind.

Amber: I didn't know about the restraining order when Tomas first came over.

C.J.: Well, did you know about it when you had sex with him?

Amber: Well, I mean, not the first time.

C.J.: God. Amber, come on! Are you trying to ruin your life?

Amber: No. Ridge is.

C.J.: No, Ridge is looking out for his kid.

Amber: Thomas isn't a kid.

C.J.: Well, not after last night.

Amber: Look, if you're gonna try to turn this into something ugly, you can leave.

C.J.: Amber, this isn't funny, okay? The Forrester’s have put a restraining order on you. This little piece of paper means that you can go to jail. Amber, don't blow this off. They will do it. The way Ridge feels about you, he'd be happy to lock you up and throw away the key.

Amber: Well, Ridge is never going to find out. Because I'm not going to tell him and you're not going to tell him and there's no way Thomas ever would.

Ridge: You won't listen to me, you won't listen to Rick.

Thomas: That's all ancient history.

Eric: You don't see the similarities?

Thomas: Yes, I do. I think you misjudged her then, too.

Ridge: It kills me that you're defending her.

Thomas: I wouldn't have to if you'd stop attacking her.

Ridge: Nothing's going to happen to amber. Not as long as you stay away from her. Look, Thomas, some day you're going to meet a girl who cares about you. Who is good for you. Who brings something positive to your life. You don't know what I'm talking about you?

Thomas: Yes, I do. Because it's already happened there's a lot more going on here than you know about!

Amber: Nobody's gonna lock me up. You know, everybody should just chill out and back off.

C.J.: Amber, I'm warning you, as your friend, you're the one who had better back off.

Amber: No. This is the first time in so long that I've actually felt good about myself. And Thomas did that for me. You know? I mean, he's an amazing person. He is. He's so caring and he's open. He's just like his mom.

C.J.: If he's so caring, why is he putting you at risk?

Amber: That was my choice. I like being with him. He's important to me.

C.J.: I see. More important than staying out of jail?

Amber: C.J., He is the only person in this world who really believes in me. When someone makes you feel special like that, you just don't want to let him go. No matter what.

Ridge: And what do mean by that? Other things going on?

Thomas: She cares about me. But you don't believe that. And nothing I say's gonna convince you otherwise. So there's no point even talking about it.

Eric: Thomas, Thomas, Thomas. Look, your father really does have your best interests at heart.

Thomas: I get that.

Ridge: Do you really?

Thomas: Yeah. But I think you're making a big mistake here.

Ridge: I'd rather be safe than sorry. Look, you think hanging with Amber is just harmless fun. Everything's just fun and games. But I'm telling you right now, she has -- she has this wild streak about her.

Thomas: Yeah, I've seen it.

Ridge: Then you know. Thomas, I'm telling you, if you let her in, she's going to drive you crazy.

Thomas: Can't argue with that.

Jackie: Eric? Oh, sorry, you're in the middle of something.

Thomas: No, no, it's cool. I'm outta here.

Eric: Jackie, what can I do for you?

Jackie: Well, I could come back later.

Eric: No, no. No, it's all right. How you doing?

Ridge: Heard you're back at Marone Manor.

Jackie: Massimo and I are working things out, yes. I know he'd love to hear from you, Ridge.

Ridge: Is that why you're here?

Jackie: No. No it's not. Actually, I've just come from a meeting with Thorne.

Eric: With Thorne?

Jackie: Yes. He's invited me to spectra's fashion show.

Ridge: You're not going, are you?

Jackie: Well I think I have to.

Ridge: Fine. Knock yourself out. You're wasting your time, though. Because there's nothing Thorne has that is up to Fenmore's standards.

Jackie: Oh, you've seen the line?

Ridge: No, I haven't seen it.

Jackie: Well, Thorne seems very confident. And there's a great deal of interest in the new line.

Ridge: Hype, Jackie. A great deal of hype. You see, there's nothing Thorne could possibly produce that could ever live up to it.

Jackie: Well, we'll have to see.

Clark: I would love to see the look on Ridge's face when he finds out that Fenmore’s Department stores is carrying our line!

Darla: Ahh, it hasn't happened yet.

Clarke: Oh, it will. Of course it will. Not only do we have superior quality here, the same designs with better fabric and better construction, but Jackie Marone wants to see Ridge get his just as much as you do.

Thorne: This isn't about Ridge getting his, Clarke.

Clarke: Oh, right.

Darla: No, it's not, Clarke. It's about Thorne getting what he deserves. And showing everybody in this business just what he can do.

Clarke: Well, we're gonna do more than show 'em. We're gonna wow 'em. We're gonna astound them. They have never seen quality like this strut down a spectra runway. I tell you Thorne, you are re-inventing this company.

Thorne: By going back to the tried-and-the-true. See, it's quality that sets the great fashion house apart from the rest. It's not flash. It's not fancy promotional campaigns. It's classic elegance. That's what it used to be all about for my father. Maybe that time will come again.

Clarke: Maybe. Or maybe the torch has already been passed. Maybe tomorrow the world will recognize that you are the keeper of the flame. The true heir to the Forrester legacy.

[ Phone rings ]

Amber: I was hoping you'd call.

Thomas: I've only got a minute. I'm at the office.

Amber: Did you talk to your dad?

Thomas: He's serious about the restraining order. I don't know what to do. I can't get through to him, and I don't want to get you into any more trouble.

Amber: I have an idea. C.J. Just stopped by and he offered me a job at Insomnia.

Thomas: So?

Amber: So, it's a public place. And, if I work there, they can't arrest me just because, you know, you came in to get a cup of coffee. And, I happen to know, that there's an office in the back. And it could be our own secret little hideout.

Thomas: When do you start work?

Amber: Tomorrow.

Thomas: I don't think I can wait that long.

Amber: Oh, you know what, we have to. Because your dad probably has cops watching the motel parking lot.

Thomas: I'm really sorry about this, Amber.

Amber: No, it's not your fault. And I think it's worth it. Don't you?

Thomas: Yeah. Oh, yeah. You really mean a lot to me, Amber.

Amber: I'll see you tomorrow. Bye.

Ridge: Hey, if Fenmore's wants to start selling second-rate knock-offs --

Jackie: I don't think this line is going to be second-rate. I mean, Thorne told me I would not be disappointed.

Ridge: Oh, please. What else is he going to say?

Jackie: But he's not the only one touting the line. Did you see the society column this morning? The princess -

Ridge: Rumors, Jackie. Probably planted by Thorne.

Jackie: Well, if the rumors are true, I cannot deny Fenmore's a shot at the hottest collection of the season just because of Spectra's history. Thorne is in charge now. Everyone knows his reputation.

Ridge: A reputation he built at Forrester.

Jackie: Hmm. Yeah. He learned from the best.

Ridge: We are still the best, Jackie. Did you notice our designs? Classic Forrester is what they are. The best in haute couture.

Jackie: They are stunning. Ridge, this isn't personal.

Eric: Jackie, we know that. We just want to be sure you're at our showing, too.

Jackie: Of course I'll be there. I just wanted you to understand why I can't refuse Thorne's invitation.

Eric: Hmm.

Jackie: I also need to warn you, Eric, I probably won't be your only buyer there.

Eric: Thank you.

Ridge: What is going on?

Eric: Ridge, I've heard the buzz, too. Spectra collection is supposed to be amazing.

Ridge: Well, then it's probably not their collection.

Clarke: This is it. This is what people will think of when they think of Spectra fashions. Class. Elegance. Quality. We always had it in us, but it took this very special man to bring it out. Go on, Thorne.

Darla: This is where Sally usually makes her big speech.

All: Speech, speech, speech."

[ Applause ]

Thorne: Thank you. Thank you. Really, thank you, but you guys are the ones who should be applauding yourselves. You did all the work. I just laid out the game plan.

Darla: And it's going to work. Because we have got the best darn president in this business. Don't we?

[ Applause ]

Clarke: And you know him. You love him. He's our leader. He's going to guide us into the stratosphere of haute couture. You know, we have done some terrific work in the past, but we've never been able to get that key to enter the club of the fashion elite. But, with Thorne Forrester behind us, watch out world, here we come!

[ Cheers and applause ]

Darla: This is Sally's idea. She wanted you to know how important you are.

Thorne: Thank you. I, well, I can't tell you what this means. To be accepted into this company, into the Spectra family. I know that some of you might have been a little worried when I came on board. Maybe you thought being from Forrester, that I wouldn't get it. That I wouldn't know what it was like to be overlooked, or ignored, or to work your heart out and not be taken seriously. Trust me, I get it. But that's not how it's going to be for us. Not anymore. Because tomorrow, we're going to make our presence known. We're going to make our talent known. And we're going to make our success known. And the fashion world will never be the same!

[ Cheers and applause ]
