Brooke: Boo! Oh!

Nick: Oh!

Brooke: Oh, you scared me. I was trying to scare you.

Nick: Hi.

Brooke: Hi.

Nick: Hang on one second. How'd it go?

Brooke: It went -- it went good. Like I told you on the phone, yeah. It was just a routine checkup.

Nick: Really? How about the heartbeat?

Brooke: Normal.

Nick: Oh.

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Nick: And the -- I lost my -- my ball, I lost my ball.

Brooke: It's okay.

Nick: Glucose test?

Brooke: Nauseating, but negative.

Nick: How about the doctor -- Sobel? How'd that go? Do you like him?

Brooke: Oh, he's wonderful.

Nick: Yeah?

Brooke: Yeah. It's hard to believe that Dr. Paxson's gone, but we're lucky to have found a great doctor, so --

Nick: Yeah. We are lucky, you know.

Brooke: And we're very lucky to have a healthy, wonderful, beautiful baby boy on the way.

Nick: But a wedding to plan --

Brooke: Oh, right. I almost forgot about that.

Nick: Well, I've been thinking about it. Hear me out, okay? I was thinking old church, view of the ocean. Family and friends, really packed in, all clammy and sweaty like sardines. And then party for three days. What do you think?

Brooke: Wow.

Nick: Right. But, you gotta help me here, you know. This is all new to me, the wedding thing. I don't know where to start, really.

Brooke: You're really excited about this, aren't you?

Nick: I want to show my wife and my family off to the world. What do you think?

Brooke: I think I want to elope.

Eric: I think that was a pretty good press conference, don't you? Did you see how happy everyone was to have you back?

Ridge: No happier than I am to be back.

Stephanie: I think you'll get some covers on the trades tomorrow.

Ridge: Well, Thorne better be on those covers. I really, really didn't mean to steal his thunder like that.

Eric: I just think everybody was really excited to see you and me together, back at the top of Forrester. I mean, it certainly doesn't diminish Thorne's accomplishments here at the company.

Stephanie: Of course, it doesn't. And isn't this wonderful? Here we are, all together again, back at the company? I don't think -- well, I'm just really happy.

Eric: You are happy, aren't you? You finally got what you want.

Stephanie: Yes, I certainly did. I was thinking that we should call Thorne and Darla, ask them if they'd like to go to the Cafe Russe with us, and have some champagne.

Ridge: And what exactly shall we celebrate, mother? Your so-called "triumph" over Brooke?

Stephanie: Now, why are you bringing her up?

Ridge: Because that's what this is really about, isn't it? It's not about a family reunion. It's about you getting rid of Brooke.

Stephanie: There's a direct correlation between the two, yes.

Ridge: Yeah, yeah. I mean, never mind I lost the love of my life. All you're concerned about now is doing your victory dance, so you just go ahead.

Stephanie: And what exactly did I do?

Ridge: The little stunt you pulled at Brooke and Nick's engagement party, and everything that happened before it. You pretty much forced her to accept his ring.

Stephanie: Oh, you're blaming that on me?

Ridge: Brooke is now engaged to my brother, an impending wedding. There's not a damn thing I can do about it. There's no turning back now!

Stephanie: From the moment that she conceived Nick's baby, there was never any turning back.

Caitlin: You're my mom?

Samantha: Yes.

Caitlin: I don't know who you think I am, but I don't have a mother.

Samantha: Oh, Caitlin. Yes you do. I'm right here.

Caitlin: You're not my mom. She's dead.

Hector: Honey, I know how confusing this is for you.

Caitlin: Dad, what are you talking about? Why are you letting her say this to me?

Hector: Because it's the truth. Sweetheart, Samantha's your mother.

Caitlin: But how? If this is true, where have you been?

Samantha: I was in New York.

Caitlin: So now, after all these years, you decided, "hey, maybe I should go meet my daughter?"

Samantha: I didn't know that you were here. I only just found out myself.

Caitlin: How can that be? We've been working together. God, I even confided in you about my mom. I talked to you about my nightmares, and you never even said a word.

Samantha: I didn't know that you were my daughter.

Caitlin: Uh-uh. That doesn't make any sense.

Hector: Honey, she was a victim of a very cruel lie. Okay? We both were.

Caitlin: I don't want to hear this, dad. Make her go away.

Hector: Caitlin, she's not going away. Do you understand? Please, just listen to us, honey. We have so much to tell you.

Caitlin: You told me my mom was dead. Are you telling me now that you've known all along? All those times that I needed a mother, you knew she was alive?

Hector: Caitlin, I never wanted to lie to you. But I had no choice. Don't you understand? The day that you were born, her mother offered me full custody of you, but only if I promised never to tell you about her, or to try to contact her at all. If I did, I'd lose custody.

Caitlin: So you just turned your back on us.

Hector: Samantha she didn't know. Sweetheart, she thought you died in childbirth.

Nick: Elope?

Brooke: The idea of a big wedding, with the whole family there -- that's a bit daunting to me right now. Everything's been such a big production lately, that I just want to keep this as simple and stress-free as possible.

Nick: Hmm. Well, that's -- okay. No fancy wedding. You got it.

Brooke: Thank you for being so understanding.

Nick: Well, just hang on, before you start liking me too much. It's one thing to cut out the bells and the whistles, but if we chop the family out of this -- if I elope, my mother will kill me. You know that, don't you? You don't want to be a pretty young widow, do you?

Brooke: No, I don't.

Nick: She's more invested in this relationship, sometimes, than we are, I think.

Brooke: Well, at least she's supportive.

Nick: Yeah. What if we had it at their house? I mean, we'll keep it small. Right? Their house. They'd love it. What do you think?

Brooke: It could work.

Nick: We need lists. We need a list to give them, an invitation list. Right?

Brooke: Right.

Nick: Well, help me with that, will you?

Brooke: There's one person I definitely don't want there.

Nick: Who's that?

Brooke: Stephanie.

Ridge: Brooke does not love Nick.

Stephanie: So? Who cares?

Eric: We do, Stephanie.

[ Stephanie sighs ]

Stephanie: When are you two going to open your eyes, and really see this woman for what she truly is? Eric, she slept with you. She slept with him. She slept with both of his brothers. I think there's a pattern there -- or am I the only one that sees that? A tad trashy? Slightly slutty?

Eric: If you're trying to win us over with this argument --

Stephanie: Why would I want to win you over, after all these years? Open your eyes, perhaps? Look what she did to this company. Have you so quickly forgotten that she removed you as the president and the CEO? That she trashed the reputation of this company with that lingerie line? Does any of this matter to you? Better still, do I matter to you?

Nick: I thought Stephanie was your new best friend.

Brooke: Same old dog. Same old tricks.

Nick: Huh, why am I not surprised.

Brooke: Why am I surprised? She treated me like dirt forever. And then one day she does a 180 and she says how much she loves me. Well, she didn't really love me at all. She was just trying to get me out of out of her family and it worked.

Nick: Well, look what you got out of it. You got me.

Brooke: Yes.

Nick: Okay, let's look at it this way -- you know, she might have gotten rid of you, but you got rid of her. And I think you got the better end of that deal, believe me.

Brooke: It just makes me so mad knowing that she's over there doing her victory dance right now.

Nick: You're gonna get the last laugh, though. You know why? Because you have so much more to look forward to than old "stuffy Stephie." Like the wedding, right?

Brooke: Right.

Nick: We're thumbs up, kid, together.

Brooke: Yes, I just -- promise me Stephanie won't be there grinning ear to ear. No Ridge, either.

Nick: Okay, let me make sure I have all this together. Small ceremony, no frills, no half-siblings, no former monster-in-laws -- I think I got it now, yeah.

Brooke: That sounds about right.

Nick: Kinda makes you wanna jump, doesn't it?

Brooke: Jump?

Nick: Jump to the part where I get to kiss the bride.

Eric: What kind of a question is that?

Stephanie: Do I matter to you? It's a fair one, considering everything that I've been through. I have fought for you like a mother lion protecting her den and her cubs. I've fought for all of you. Remember, she stripped you of your dignity. The only thing that kept me going was knowing that you -- my precious little baby -- were on the way. And then I lost you, too. My mother lied to me again and told me that you didn't survive the birth.

Caitlin: What?

Samantha: My mother thought that being a teenage parent was a fate worse than death, literally. And that it would taint our precious family reputation. And she couldn't allow that to happen, even if it robbed me of a life with my daughter.

Hector: Now I know why I never heard from your mother. Why I thought that she didn't want anything to do with us.

Caitlin: But you did?

Samantha: Oh, Caitlin, if you had any idea how I ached to hold my baby girl and how I still ache for her.

Stephanie: The betrayal is what she's done to us. To you.

Ridge: I don't really see it that way, mother.

Stephanie: Listen to me. I have spent years fighting with her. I don't want to do it anymore, but none of this -- none of this if going to matter if you can't share my joy at this moment. Both of you. I mean, look at me. I'm older, I'm grayer, and I hope wiser, but I'm telling you right now that I will not be able to handle this if you hate me for what I've done. Because what did I do? What did I do, Ridge? I fought to protect you, both of you. Why did I do it? Because I love you. I love you. I love the both of you more than anything in this world, and I need to know that you love me.

Caitlin: How long have you known this?

Hector: We just found out.

Samantha: Once we put the pieces together, we came to you right away.

Caitlin: Oh, my god.

Samantha: I know this must be a really big shock.

Caitlin: You have no idea.

Samantha: Well, I think I might understand even better than you think. All this time, I thought you were gone. And now look at you. You're -- you're more beautiful than I ever could have dreamed.

Caitlin: I'm gonna wake up any second, and you're gonna be gone, just like you always are.

Samantha: No. I'm not going anywhere. I am never leaving you again.

Hector: Sweetheart, this is real. The most amazing birthday present I could ever give you -- your mother.

Samantha: Honey?

Caitlin: All those talks we had -- the connection. I felt like you already knew me.

Samantha: I know. I felt it, too. On the first day that I met you, when you cheered me up with that sweet little puppy, I really felt that there was something special between us.

Caitlin: But, you never thought --

Samantha: No, I never, in my wildest dreams, imagined you were my daughter. All my life, I have just sort of wandered around, trying to fill this void. Trying to find my place in this world. And it wasn't until now, just this moment, that I know what that is. It's right here with you. I just so wish that I had known you all this time. I missed everything -- your first steps, and I missed your entire childhood, and I missed being there for you. And I -- I know that I'm a stranger, but I just hope that you'll let me be a part of your life.

Hector: Now we have a chance, all of us, to make up for that lost time, to create new memories together, as a family. And what better day to start than on your birthday? The day that we should have been together from the very beginning. You know, we have suffered more than any family ever should. But, honey, you've been given an amazing gift -- a mother who wants you, and loves you more than anything. You have each other now, and you can have anything you've ever wanted -- and more.

Caitlin: Mom? Mom?

Samantha: Yeah.

[ Caitlin and Samantha sobbing ] It's okay. It's all right now. It's all right.
