Brooke: I don't want to let go. I want to stay like this forever.

Ridge: You can. You have to. This is where you belong.

Brooke: Not anymore.

Ridge: You can say that all you want, Brooke, but I will never believe that, and neither will you.

Brooke: Ridge, it's the right thing to do.

Ridge: Right thing to walk away from the man you love? From the man who loves you with all of his heart, with everything he has to give?

Brooke: Yes, that's why I'm doing it. So that our love never disappears.

Ridge: It's not gonna disappear, brooke. It's not gonna do that.

Brooke: Ridge, I can't do this to you. I can't put you in the position of raising your brother's child.

Ridge: You let me decide that.

Brooke: You'll do what you always do -- you'll put everybody before yourself, and you'll wind up on the losing end.

Ridge: Oh, Brooke. Brooke, Brooke. I'm only gonna lose if I lose you. Don't you see that?

Brooke: We still have our love. And we have tonight. So let's just remember being in each other's arms and dancing in the candlelight to our song.

Ridge: It's not enough.

Brooke: It has to be.

Ridge: Hey, Brooke, don't do this. Don't do this, I beg you, please don't do this.

Brooke: Take it. Please, Ridge, just take it. Take it off.

                        **************************************************************************

Bridget: That's it. Good, you're doing it.

Deacon: Ah, you're doing it.

Bridget: Well, what do you think? Are you ready to try on your own?

Deacon: You gonna spot me?

Bridget: I'll be here.

Deacon: I like the sound of that.

Bridget: As your physical therapist, that's it.

Deacon: For now, for now.

Bridget: Deacon --

Deacon: Okay, okay, you ready?

Bridget: Yes, okay. Keep your arms balanced. Focus on moving your left foot forward. Try to work the muscles in your thigh, deacon.

Deacon: It hurts.

Bridget: That's good.

Deacon: What do you mean it's good?

Bridget: The nerves are responding to pain stimuli. Pretty soon they may respond to all sorts of messages.

Deacon: Pretty soon isn't good enough. I want it now!

Bridget: Yeah, you've always been an instant gratification kind of guy.

Deacon: Okay, okay. I tell you what's going to be gratifying. When I'm standing up on my own two feet, in front of that minister, and we're saying our I dos.

Bridget: Deacon, you're impossible.

Deacon: No, I'm just a man that's in love. Okay. Whoa, whoa.

[ Deacon laughs ] Now we're getting somewhere, huh? You got me?

Bridget: Yes. I got you.

Deacon: Okay, good.

Deacon: Okay.

Bridget: Careful. Easy.

[ Deacon breathing heavy ] Are you okay?

Deacon: I'm just -- I'm just out of breath.

Bridget: I know, your heart's pumping overtime from all that exertion.

Deacon: It's pumping overtime, but it ain't from any exertion.

Bridget: Okay, Deacon, am I gonna have to talk to my adviser about getting you a new therapist?

Deacon: I'm sorry. I can't help what you do to me.

Bridget: Well, you're gonna have to. I'm engaged to another man. A man I'm in love with.

Deacon: Hm-hmm, okay, I can hear that same speech coming on.

Bridget: Well, maybe you should listen to it for a change. I mean, honestly, Deacon, you're getting your hopes up over nothing.

Deacon: I don't know about that. I keep thinking one of these mornings you're gonna wake up and you're gonna realize that you've rushed into an engagement with a guy who is a complete stranger to you.

Bridget: Ozzy is not a stranger.

Deacon: Really? Okay. What's his middle name?

Bridget: That's not important.

Deacon: Bridget, there are gonna be 50 questions I could ask you about this guy that you don't know the answers to.

Bridget: Well, what I do know is that he's a good man, a wonderful man, and that's what matters.

Deacon: I'm a good man too. You remember when we first met, the guy that you thought I was? That's the guy that I am now, and I'm going to get up out of this wheelchair, and I'm going to show you what the hell I'm made of.

Bridget: Um, time's up. I want to see my dad before he goes home.

Deacon: You going to come back tomorrow?

Bridget: Good night.

Deacon: Sweet dreams.

Bridget: You, too.

                        *******************************************************************************

Ridge: I put that ring on your finger till death do us part. Do you remember? We made promises to each other that night.

Brooke: Promises I can't keep. Not anymore.

Ridge: I don't care what you say, Logan, I'm not taking that ring off of you. Brooke, no. No!

Brooke: This belongs to you.

Ridge: It belongs to us. That ring represents everything we've gone through up till now. We deserve that ring, Brooke. We earned it.

Brooke: Until I made a mistake. A mistake that I have to pay for. Me, Ridge, not you.

Ridge: I had a talk with my father earlier. He reminded me of something. He reminded me that this ring -- this ring represents eternity.

Brooke: He was right.

Ridge: Was he?

Brooke: The eternity of our love.

Ridge: What good is that love, Logan, if I don't have you to share it with?

Brooke: It'll keep us going. Get us through our worst days.

Ridge: Well, that's no way to live.

Brooke: That's all we have left.

Stephanie: Honey, she's right. I know it's painful, but you're going to have to accept it.

                        ************************************************************************

Deacon: One more set. One more set.

Oscar: Hey, Bridget.

Deacon: Too late.

Oscar: Did you guys already finish?

Deacon: Finished? Not if I have my way.

Oscar: Okay, I'm gonna make somethin' perfectly clear.

Deacon: What's that?

Oscar: This thing you got going on with Bridget -- it's strictly professional.

Deacon: Let me ask you a question. You suppose we'd be having this little conversation if -- if you didn't think maybe Bridget still had feelings for me?

Oscar: I know. You're right. She's got a lot of 'em. I can name a few. Pity, compassion, oh, yeah, obligation.

Deacon: Is that what you think this is about?

Oscar: All I know is you're in that chair, because her father put you there.

Deacon: So what are you telling me? What?

Oscar: She's just trying to make up for that.

Deacon: What, as soon as I get up and walk, it's a wash? She's just gonna say good-bye, is that it?

Oscar: Um-hmm.

Deacon: Huh, that's funny, 'cause I see it exactly the opposite.

Oscar: Do you?

Deacon: Yeah, I see myself gettin' out of this chair and taking a couple steps. And she realizes what the hell I'm about now. That I'm about hard work, perseverance. And I'm not like some guy she just got engaged to on a whim. When the going gets tough, I deliver. I follow through.

Oscar: All right, whatever, man. I don't want to argue about this. But I will tell you this, all right? I'm gonna put a wedding ring on Bridget's finger, and I'm gonna keep it there for the rest of our lives, and there's nothing you can do about that.

Deacon: Is that a fact?

Oscar: Yeah, it is. It really is. I do really hope that you get out of that chair though, okay? 'Cause the sooner you do, the sooner Bridget can say good-bye to you for good.

                        *************************************************************************

Ridge: What are you doing here, mother? You come to cause trouble?

Stephanie: No.

Ridge: How'd you even know we were at the cabin? Who told you?

Brooke: I did. I told her to pack some things and bring them up here, and bring Hope.

Ridge: To pack?

Brooke: I'm going away.

Ridge: You're what?

Brooke: Not for good. I just need to get away for a little while.

Ridge: Away from me?

Brooke: Away from everything.

Stephanie: I put all of your stuff in the car, and the baby's asleep.

Brooke: Thank you.

Ridge: Well, congratulations, mother. You finally got what you wanted.

Stephanie: You think that I really enjoy seeing you hurt this way?

Ridge: I don't know. What the heck? What's a little pain when you can finally get rid of Brooke, huh?

Stephanie: Oh, Eidge, only someone who really, truly loves you could make a sacrifice like this.

Ridge: What if she doesn't want a sacrifice? She shouldn't have to sacrifice.

Stephanie: You know, I thought the same thing when I found out Eric wasn't your father. I thought, well, it'll be okay. We'll work it out. We'll just continue along the way we have, but it didn't work out.

Ridge: No, mother, you lost dad, because you lied to him.

Stephanie: She could have continued this way, couldn't she? She could've lied to you. Gone on the rest of her life pretending it was your baby, but she just has too much courage to do that. She put you first.

Ridge: Well, what if I don't want to be first?

Stephanie: It's easy to say that now.

Ridge: I will not regret it.

Stephanie: Oh, Ridge, she finally shows you what she's made of. That she has real genuine character, integrity. Are you -- are you gonna take that away from her? Let her have this moment. Let her do the honorable thing. Let her go. I'm gonna -- I'm gonna wait for you. I'll keep an eye on the baby.

                        ************************************************************************

Deacon: Okay, come on. Come on. All right, all right.

Oscar: There you are.

Bridget: Hey.

Oscar: Hey, I got something to show you.

Bridget: What is it?

Oscar: A dress.

Bridget: A dress, for me?

Oscar: Could be, if you like it. Come here.

[ Bridget giggles ] Stand right here.

Bridget: Just let me see it.

Oscar: No, you need the full effect.

Bridget: Come on, I've seen about a thousand dresses at this point, remember?

Oscar: This is a special one.

Bridget: Trust me, honey, nothing bowls me over at this point.

Oscar: Well, this one will.

Bridget: Well, it would probably have to be the most amazing dress I have -- I've ever seen. Oh, my god.

Oscar: It's from your father's new collection. I was kind of hoping maybe you'd wear it at our wedding.

Bridget: You went and picked this out for me?

Oscar: Yeah, sorta. I mean, I got it here, but -- I'm not being too pushy, am I? 'Cause I could do that, but -- I know women like to go shoppin' for this kind of thing on their own, but you can't blame a guy for wanting to see the way you're gonna look when you're walkin' down the aisle to me. And I promise you, right there in front of god, how much I'm gonna love you for the rest of your life. How much I am gonna care about you, take care of you, cherish you, give you my whole heart no matter what comes our way. I mean, you know, there's nothing wrong with that, is there?

Bridget: No, there's nothing wrong with that.

Oscar: So, do you like the dress?

Bridget: Yes, I like the dress. It's perfect. Well, I think it's perfect. You know, you never know till you try it on.

Oscar: Well, why don't you go for it then?

Bridget: Yeah? Why not?

Oscar: Why not?

Bridget: Oh, do you mind unzipping me?

Oscar: No, not at all.

Bridget: Mm. Oh, god, okay. I'm not trying anything on at this rate.

Oscar: Would that be so bad?

Bridget: All good things come to those who wait.

Deacon: I did it. Wait till Bridget hears about this.

[ Deacon panting ]

Bridget: Ready?

Oscar: So ready it's killin' me.

Bridget: Okay, here comes the bride.

Oscar: Oh, man.

Bridget: Come on. Is that all you have to say?

Oscar: That's all I can say.

Bridget: Did I just take your breath away?

Oscar: Let me put it this way -- you come down the aisle in this dress, I don't know if I'm gonna make it through the vows.

Bridget: Hmm, well, then maybe I should choose another one. Do you think?

Oscar: No, I don't think. God, you're beautiful.

Bridget: Oh. Oh, ooh, wait a second, wait.

Oscar: What's the matter?

Bridget: Well, the groom isn't supposed to see the bride in her wedding dress. It's bad luck. You know that, come on.

Oscar: Hold on, hold on. I know a lot about luck, remember. And as far as I'm concerned, we make our own.

Bridget: We do, huh?

Oscar: Yeah, we do. I'll tell you something, you and me, it's gonna be nothing but good.

                        *********************************************************************************

Ridge: Where are you going?

Brooke: I'd rather not say.

Ridge: And when you come back?

Brooke: I guess I'll go home -- to my house. Some day, when all of this is over, and it's all behind us, you and I -- we will find our way back to each other, Ridge. I swear. Unforgettable, that's what you are. Good-bye, Ridge.

[ Brooke crying ]
