Brooke: We don't have to talk about this now. I know you're angry with me. Why wouldn't you be? I mean, what happened between Nick and me -- you are in shock. Maybe if you just slept on it.

Ridge: It wouldn't change anything, Brooke.

Brooke: I just don't want you to make a quick decision.

Ridge: You say that like I have a choice. And there's really only one decision I can make.

Bridget: Please tell me you didn't sign anything.

Deacon: We just closed the deal. This is great.

Bridget: No, it's a trick.

Eric: This doesn't concern you, Bridget.

Bridget: How could you do this?

Eric: We'll talk about this later.

Bridget: Deacon, he's conning you. You just gave him your Forrester stock.

Deacon: No, no. I just gave little D's 2percent of Forrester for one-third of the new subsidiary.

Bridget: There isn't going to be a subsidiary.

Deacon: Bridget, this is my company. Your dad wants in.

Bridget: He wants you out. Out of his way for good. When your company fails, you'll be left with nothing.

Deacon: Wait a second. Come on, who says it's gonna fail?

Bridget: He does, Deacon. He'll make sure of it.

Nick: Would you like a drink, mother?

Jackie: No thank you.

Nick: Well, then I'll have yours.

Jackie: It was that bad?

Nick: He wasn't too happy.

Jackie: Nicky, that was to be expected.

Nick: I just hope he takes a different approach with his wife.

Jackie: Do you think you should call her?

Nick: Probably not tonight.

Jackie: But, darling, if Ridge didn't go home, she could be alone.

Nick: I'm the last person she wants to talk to.

Jackie: You know what? You didn't force Brooke to tell him the truth.

Nick: Think about what she told him. There was a bomb dropped on the man's head. This guy doesn't know what's up or what's down or what's anything.

Jackie: He blames you, you know?

Nick: Yeah. He thinks I took advantage.

Jackie: Oh, Nicky, you didn't. I mean, you and Brooke -- you were both devastated. You weren't thinking clearly.

Nick: Well, I know one thing for sure. The one person who is not thinking clearly is Forrester.

Brooke: Ridge, I know how it looks, what I did. You have to understand.

Ridge: You were grieving, you went back to the foundry. I do understand.

Brooke: I didn't know what else to do. Stephanie and Eric, they wanted to leave Puerto Vista. But I couldn't. I couldn't stand the thought of coming back here without you.

Ridge: You didn't know Nick was gonna follow you, did you?

Brooke: He was worried. When he found me, I was out of mind with grief.

Ridge: You were vulnerable.

Brooke: Ridge, he was trying to comfort me.

Ridge: You were vulnerable, Brooke. Nick went too far. He went too damn far.

Deacon: Is this true? This was a con?

Eric: This is a binding contract. One that you knowingly signed.

Deacon: I trusted you.

Bridget: I thought you wanted to help him.

Eric: Deacon's very capable of helping himself. He helped himself to you, to my grandson, to 2percent  of my company.

Deacon: I gave you that company!

Eric: Yes, you did. Every last bit of it.

Bridget: Deacon?

Deacon: You must think I'm a fool.

Bridget: No, no.

Deacon: I mean, I'd have to be to think that Eric Forrester could believe in me.

Bridget: Listen to me. That's what he wanted you to think.

Deacon: It worked. I did. And you know what the worst part is? It felt good. I felt good. For the first time in weeks, I thought things were finally looking up. Hell, I was already planning the big celebration -- Cafe Russe, caviar, the whole nine yards. All I needed was for somebody to believe in me the way that Macy did.

Eric: Don't you bring Macy into this. Don't you dare. I'm sorry about what happened to Macy. I thought she was a wonderful woman. The only thing I didn't understand about her is what she ever saw in you.

Bridget: You could see it, too, dad, if you wanted to.

Deacon: No, he doesn't want to. All he sees is the man who betrayed his little girl.

Eric: That's not the only thing you did against this family.

Deacon: Why don't you read me a list? Hell, I know you got one. I got one, too. It's a list of regrets. Starting with coming in this office and thinking that anything would ever be different.

Eric: No, no. Wait, something is different. What is it? That's right. I now own 51percent of Forrester Creations. That's different. And fortunately you're not.

Jackie: This is not you're fault. I mean, you didn't seduce Brooke. You were both grieving, and for God's sake, you thought Ridge was dead.

Nick: He doesn't care about that.

Jackie: I know he thinks you betrayed him.

Nick: You know what he thinks. He's wondering if the child his wife is carrying is his or not. That's what he thinks, mother.

Jackie: Of course he is. And so should you be. You can't ignore this --

Nick: No, the hell I can't. Watch me.

Jackie: You have just got to consider what it would mean to have a child with Brooke. You've got to. Well, I know what it would mean for her. It would mean the end of a very short marriage.

Jackie: And what about for you? Oh, Nicky. Nicky. You love this women --

Nick: Stop it! Please, mother, just stop saying that.

Jackie: You know -- uh! It wouldn't be the end of the world, you know. I mean just a short while ago the two of you were --

Nick: Please! He likes her, she likes him. Let them go be happy.

Jackie: And what about you? You deserve to be happy, too.

Nick: I'll be happy. You know when I'll be happy, is when this thing is completely over with and we all move on with our lives. Especially those two.

Jackie: Do you think they could do that?

Nick: If he forgives her. They can do it.

Jackie: Do you think he can?

Brooke: Ridge, I don't know what Nick told you.

Ridge: I don't want to talk about it, Brooke.

Brooke: Right. It's been a long day, and we are both exhausted.

Ridge: I don't want to talk about it ever again. We have to deal with this now.

Brooke: That's what I'm trying to do.

Ridge: I don't need another explanation, Brooke.

Brooke: Ridge, what do you want me to say?

Ridge: Nothing. Nothing. I know you didn't mean for this to happen. So for now, we are just gonna act like it didn't.

Bridget: How can you possibly say Deacon hasn't changed? He just lost his wife, for God's sake.

Deacon: Eric, I'm not proud of the way I treated your daughter when we were married.

Eric: Bridget, again, you are not the only person in this family that he has mistreated.

Bridget: Daddy, I am not defending his behavior. And neither is he. He is the first person --

Deacon: Stop, stop. Just save your breath. He's not even listening.

Eric: Oh, I'm listening. I just can't believe what I'm hearing. You can go. We are finished here.

Deacon: Oh, no. No, we are far from finished. And what you are going to be hearing from is my attorney. We got a contract. Binding.

Eric: Yes, and you're going to get everything I promised you -- nothing.

Jackie: Brooke doesn't blame you for this.

Nick: Well, she may feel a little differently if her marriage falls apart.

Jackie: And you might feel differently if this child turns out to be yours.

Nick: I really can say I don't know how I'd feel.

Jackie: Don't you say that. This child is going to need a father who loves him or her.

Nick: Well, I'll be responsible and --

Jackie: Responsible? My husband was responsible, Nicky. Frank put a roof over your head. He put food on the table, but it didn't make him a good father.

Nick: For God's sake, mother, she hasn't even taken the paternity test yet.

Jackie: She will take it. And when the results come in --

Nick: Hopefully, we'll all breathe a sigh of relief and then carry on with our normal lives.

Jackie: Look, Nicky, I know you don't want to be the cause of this. I understand that, but there could be a positive side.

Nick: For who?

Jackie: I know you. I know your heart. And I know the special place that Brooke holds in it. If this pregnancy could just bring the two of you back together --

Nick: Mother. If this kid turns out to be mine, this beautiful family that you've helped put together's gonna be blown apart. Now you tell me what's positive about that.

Brooke: Ridge, what are saying? You want to forget what happened?

Ridge: That's not the issue now.

Brooke: Our baby. This is supposed to be one of the most wonderful events of our life. Our own baby. After all this time, we're finally here. And now look at us.

Ridge: That's why we have to move on. I don't want our kid seeing us like this, Logan. All this stress, it can't be good for the baby.

Brooke: So we just pretend that nothing's wrong?

Ridge: I say we honor the vows we made in Puerto Vista. We're in this together, through every triumph and every challenge, remember?

Brooke: I haven't forgotten.

Ridge: Well, neither have I. I love you. And I know that you love me.

Brooke: I do. And don't you ever doubt that.

Ridge: I won't. I won't. I'm not saying this is gonna be easy. It's gonna be a major challenge, probably the biggest we've ever faced. But if -- if you are carrying my child, it's gonna be one hell of a payoff.

Brooke: This is your baby.

Ridge: I want to believe that as much as you do. I really do.

Brooke: You can.

Ridge: I'm not gonna lie to you, though. If we're wrong --

Brooke: We're not. Nick is not the father. You are. Do you hear me? This child is yours.

Bridget: Does that make you feel good? Cheating a man who's already lost everything?

Eric: Don't you talk to me that way.

Bridget: The way you're acting right now, I don't want to talk to you at all.

Eric: The wayI'm acting?

Bridget: You offered deacon your support.

Eric: Bridget, this man turned your life inside out. He almost succeeded in ruining your relationship with your mother, and you expect me to give him a job?

Bridget: I expected you to give him a chance.

Eric: A chance to what? To abuse my trust the way he abused yours?

Bridget: Daddy, he's not the same person anymore. He's changed.

Eric: No, he hasn't. But you have. You've changed. I could always trust that when you made a mistake, you would learn from it. But where -- where is your sense of judgment here? He has offended everybody in this family.

Bridget: Well, if you would just give him a chance to make it up to us, he would.

Eric: What, by turning my daughter against me?

Bridget: He didn't come to me for help, daddy. I came to you myself, because I thought you would show him a little bit of respect. Because I thought I knew you.

Eric: What has he done to earn my respect? My God, what has he done to earn yours?

Bridget: Right now, daddy, I have a hell of a lot more respect for him than I do for you.

Nick: I love you. The bottom line is, Brooke and Ridge have to get through this on their own.

Jackie: And if they can't?

Nick: Well, then I'll just have to live with that.

Jackie: You're a sailor, Nicky. You're a sailor. You've always gone wherever the wind or stars have taken you.

Nick: The sea does not reward recklessness, mother.

Jackie: Well, this isn't about recklessness. This is about your life, the possibility of a family, a child. Every mother wants that for her son.

Nick: Well, I'm sure Stephanie would agree with you.

Jackie: Stephanie may not be this child's grandmother.

Nick: Well, I hope she is, and you should, too.

Jackie: Look, I don't wish Ridge ill. He makes Brooke very happy. He's a wonderful father. But you could be a wonderful father, too.

Nick: Someday maybe.

Jackie: God, you won't even consider the possibility. I mean, Nicky, what is wrong with you? You -- you've never been afraid of the unknown.

Nick: Sailors used to believe that the edge of the map was the end of the world. They could sail off into unchartered waters, but mapmakers used to advise against it. They'd say, "Beyond this point, there'll be dragons."

Jackie: Yep. Well, if Columbus hadn't kept going, we might not be sitting here now.

Nick: Columbus was looking for a faster trade route to India. And guess what? He didn't find it.

Jackie: Nicky --

Nick: Enough said.

Brooke: You forgive me?

Ridge: Logan, we made a commitment. That's why we have to try and work through this.

Brooke: I scheduled the CVS tests, and we'll get the results sometime next week. But I already know what they're going to say.

Ridge: I hope to God you're right.

Brooke: A woman knows these things. When we were on the plane, on the way to Puerto Vista, that's when it happened. And once we prove it, I promise you, there won't be any more obstacles. We can look forward into the future and have everything that we imagined -- our children, our new baby. And I have you to thank for all of that. For your understanding, your forgiveness -- don't you ever, ever doubt my love for you.

Ridge: I have wanted this so badly for so long. But to have everything go wrong now --

Brooke: It would be unthinkable. I couldn't bear that. But this is our child. Ours. You'll see.
