Stephanie: And now you want her back in this family? You want that slut raising Taylor's children?

[Crowd gasps]

Ridge: You, me. Outside, right now. Come on.

[Indistinct murmuring]

Clarke: Okay. Okay, that's enough, everybody. Show's over. Ruben, Ruben --

Ruben: Are you still getting married?

Clarke: Ruben, that's enough, okay? Just give her a break, all right? Okay, everybody, just settle down. I think we got enough pictures. I think we got enough video today.

[Bridget screams]

Bridget: Oh, god. Oh, it's okay, it's okay. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Please, let go of me. You're fine. I'm not gonna hurt you. Please. You're in the hospital.

Oscar: Why? What happened?

Bridget: I don't know.

Oscar: Where's Paolo?

Bridget: I'm sorry. I don't know who that is.

Oscar: That's good. What do you know?

Bridget: I just came in here to have you fill out some forms. Um, you had a hair on your -- I'm gonna go get your doctor.

Oscar: Yeah, you can do that, and bring me some water.

Bridget: What?

Oscar: What, is English your second language? I said, bring me some water.

Sally: Wait. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. Boys and girls, you know I want to tell you the whole truth, but I can't really tell you what the outcome of all of this is going to be. Though, if I were a betting woman, which you all know I am, I would put all of my money on the champion. That looked like a knockout punch to me. Come on.

Reporter: What's gonna happen to spectra?

Samantha: I've never seen Stephanie like that.

[Clarke chuckles]

Clarke: Brooke has. A million times.

Eric: This came as a huge shock to her, you know?

Brooke: Eric, please don't make excuses for her.

Eric: I'm not. Believe me, I'm not. But if I had had any idea what you two were up to, I would have kept her away.

Brooke: Well, we thought she was out of town. That was the whole point. And we knew we had to announce Logan Designs before she got back, 'cause she would do something to ruin it. And she did.

Eric: Yeah.

Stephanie: Well?

Ridge: I'm trying to decide how to put this.

Stephanie: The best way is just not to say anything.

Ridge: I'm not gonna defend Brooke to you anymore.

Stephanie: Good.

Ridge: Because you are not going to attack her anymore. Do you understand? Finished. This is the last straw, mother. I don't want to hear one more negative word about Brooke to me, ever.

Stephanie: All right. Of course, the best way to accomplish that is just to cut her out of your life.

Ridge: How about if I cut you out of my life instead?

Bridget: I'm gonna cut you some slack, okay? Because you've obviously had a tough week.

Oscar: Oh, you think? I got shot.

Bridget: Yeah, so Iím sure you're under a lot of stress. But for future reference, I am not your nurse, your maid, or your mother. I don't fetch and carry, and if I did, it would only be because somebody asked me very, very nicely.

Oscar: What's your name?

Bridget: Bridget.

Oscar: Bridget. That's a nice name. All right, Bridget, would you please be so kind as to put that mouth of yours to some use and go find my doctor?

Bridget: See ya.

Oscar: I'm dyin' here, all right? I'm in pain! Yeah, how do i find out if somebody's a patient here? Paolo Sandretto. It's s-a-n-d -- nothin', huh? Yeah, all right.

[Oscar chuckles] that's great. Now you show up.

Sally: All right, that's enough, and thank you very much. And remember -- remember the name is Spectra. S-p-e-c-t-r-A. Get it right. Thank you.

Clarke: Excuse me. Excuse me. I have one more question for you. How much did you have to do with this mess?

Sally: Who, me?

Clarke: Yes.

Sally: Nothing, nothing. Oh, except for that one little phone call that I made to Stephanie Forrester urging her, because of what was going on, to get over here as quickly as possible.

Clarke: Well, that's just great.

Sally: Yeah, I thought it was.

Clarke: Yeah. Well, all you did was tick off Brooke, and she's gonna take it out on me.

Sally: Oh, don't be ridiculous. You haven't got a thing to worry about, Bucky, my boy. The cavalry arrived.

Clarke: Well, Stephanie on her high horse, what's she gonna do about this?

Sally: What does she always do? She'll assess the situation, and she will take one look at Brooke, and she will go up to her and she will deliver a very well-aimed kick in Brooke's posterior, and then she will dump her right in the gutter.

Eric: Listen, if it makes you feel any better, I couldn't be happier that you and Ridge have gotten back together.

Brooke: Thank you.

Eric: Logan designs.

Brooke: That was Ridge's idea. Even when he was voting me out of Forrester, he had that in mind.

Eric: So that was all part of a strategy.

Brooke: The first step on the road to peace, he said -- to get Stephanie to accept me. But obviously, that didn't work.

Eric: Don't give up.

Brooke: Oh, Eric, how can you say that? You saw her.

Eric: Yeah, I saw him, too, though. That look -- that look he gets when he's determined to see something through. He's not gonna take no for an answer.

Stephanie: So you want to cut me out of your life?

Ridge: If you force my hand. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that.

Stephanie: And then what? We move the inconvenient mother aside, and you and Brooke ride off into the sunset? How long is it going to last? How long has it ever lasted?

Ridge: This is different now.

Stephanie: You're right. It is different. Because now you have three young, impressionable children that are counting on you. Are you seriously going to move that slut into their home?

Ridge: Enough! Will you stop? That's enough. Don't you ever get tired of hearing yourself talk like this, huh? Because I sure as hell do. What's gotten into you? You got all this bitterness and hatred in you now. It's just eating you up alive. Don't you realize that? Sometimes I wonder what the hell happened to the woman that raised me. You know what? Dad and Massimo talk about the same thing. They wonder where that woman went? The fun-loving, light-hearted, loving-life woman that you used to be. The kind of woman that actually would have loved Brooke. And you know what? You were very much like Brooke.

Stephanie: Don't you ever --

Ridge: You were very much like her, Mother. Now look at you. Chasing us all away. For god's sake, barging into that press conference like that, pushing everybody around. Everybody was embarrassed for you. Do you realize that? Every one of them. And poor Brooke.

Stephanie: Poor Brooke?

Ridge: She's not even a human being to you anymore, is she? Yeah, she's got flaws, Mother. And insecurities. And she's made mistakes, big ones, too. But you know what? I don't give a damn. Because I love her. Do you understand me? I love her so much, I'd rather lose you than have you ever hurt her again! Hey, where does this go?

Massimo: How are you, Oscar?

Oscar: Does it matter? 'Cause it obviously didn't seem to before.

Massimo: You want to blame me for this incident.

Oscar: "Incident"? That's what you're calling it. I could have died. It! Ght? So, if this is what you came to say, then you can go any time, all right? Go. Go!

Brooke: I thought we'd be celebrating by now.

Eric: You will be soon enough.

Brooke: Oh, I don't think Ridge is gonna want to celebrate after this. I mean, how could she do it? How could she put Ridge in the position of choosing?

Eric: Brooke, you don't think that Ridge is gonna --

Brooke: No, I know that I am Ridge's number one priority. I'm just worried what she's gonna do when she figures that out.

Eric: Brooke, she's a mother first.

Brooke: Maybe that's true. But her hatred's gotten the best of her. It seems more important to her than her own son. At least that's how she acted today. Poor Ridge, he's lost so many people already. I'm gonna go see what's going on in there.

Stephanie: This is how you see all of this? I'm hurting Brooke.

Ridge: What, you don't think you did? You don't think it matters, do you? Because, after all, it's only Brooke.

Stephanie: When did she become such a defenseless little waif in your eyes? I realize she's always seen herself in her own mind that way.

Ridge: Oh, now you're gonna list all of her sins? You know what, Mother? It doesn't matter. She doesn't have your husband anymore. She doesn't have your company anymore.

Stephanie: No, but she has you.

Ridge: That's right. She does.

Stephanie: And Taylor's children. Now, what makes you think that at this point in her life she's going to treat your children any differently than she treated her own? You think she's not going to neglect them, or betray them, like Bridget? I mean, let's not forget Bridget.

Ridge: Oh, please.

Stephanie: Are you prepared to ignore that? Are you really prepared to make her the role model for your girls? For Taylor's girls?

Ridge: And who should be the role model, huh? Who should I have as a role model? You? A woman that's constantly angry all the time?

Stephanie: I have good reason to be angry.

Ridge: And what about me, Mother, huh? My wife is dead. My children lost their mother. You want to talk about rage? I could be obsessing about that all my life. But I'm choosing not to.

Stephanie: That is what this is all about, isn't it? I'm right. You're rushing into a relationship with her, because you won't face your own grief.

Ridge: I'm trying to move on. Damn it. I'm moving on, Brooke's moving on, my kids are moving on. Now maybe that pisses you off, I don't know. Or maybe you think I'm being disloyal to Taylor. What is it?

Stephanie: No.

Ridge: Look, I don't really care anymore. Because I'm going to be happy. Do you understand me? And you're going to stop fighting me!

Stephanie: And if I don't, I'm out of your life? You need me.

Ridge: I could use your support, yes. But I can see I'm obviously not going to get that. You know, mother, you can blame this on the kids all you want. But you busting into that press conference, that wasn't for the kids. You calling Brooke a slut, that wasn't for their benefit at all, was it? It was for you. It was all about you and your vendetta and your jealousy.

Stephanie: Jealousy?

Ridge: That's right. Because she's happy, and you're not. But that's not her fault. You know what? Brooke is not going to be your scapegoat anymore. Period.

[Knock on door]

Brooke: May I come in?

Stephanie: No.

Ridge: Yes. Come in.

Brooke: Are you getting anywhere?

Ridge: Well, let's just see. Mother? Is there anything you'd like to say to Brooke?

Oscar: Are you my doctor?

Thug: That's right.

Oscar: Good. 'Cause I got to tell you, this hurts like hell.

Thug: Well, we are gonna take care of that.

Oscar: You know, people keep telling me how lucky I am.

Thug: So far.

Oscar: Yeah, but I figure maybe the guy just had lousy aim, huh?

Thug: Maybe.

Oscar: So, anyway, when am I gonna get out of here?

Thug: Don't worry. Real soon.

Bridget: I found your doctor.

Oscar: Yeah, I see that.

Thug: I'm consulting.

[Bridget screams]

Thug: Don't move.

Oscar: Leave her alone.

Brooke: You know what, Ridge? I think you gave your mother a lot to think about.

Ridge: Well, let's just see if any of it sunk in. Well, Mother?

Stephanie: What do you think I should say, Ridge?

Ridge: Oh, you need a little coaching? Fine. That you're sorry for the way you acted today. That you're embarrassed by your total lack of dignity and poise.

Brooke: Ridge --

Ridge: Say it.

Stephanie: I could have handled the situation differently.

Ridge: And in fact, should have.

Stephanie: Yes.

Brooke: Is that an apology?

Ridge: Is it?

Stephanie: Yes.

Ridge: Do you accept?

Brooke: Yes, of course.

Stephanie: Wonderful.

Ridge: We're not done, yet, Mother. You're going to make it up to her.

Stephanie: And how do you propose that I do that?

Ridge: Oh, you're gonna be the one proposing, actually. Give me your finger.

Stephanie: You're not serious?

Ridge: I would have done it myself, if I hadn't been so rudely interrupted. Put it on her finger. Put it on her finger. Welcome her into this family -- what family you have left. You are done interfering.

Stephanie: Yes.

Ridge: Say it.

Stephanie: I won't interfere.

Ridge: And you will respect our marriage.

Stephanie: I'll respect it.

Ridge: Thank you. This war is over.
