Brooke: Deacon?!

                        **************************************************************************************

Massimo: Sally, you just made my day. You know, if you were here right now, I would kiss you. Yeah. No, no, oh, oh, come on. Hold it right there, I know you. No, no, no, no, no. Listen, I am engaged to be married, don't forget. Yeah, sure. All right, look, I'll tell you what you do -- take some good notes and let me hear all about it, okay? Bye-bye.

Samantha: If you're busy, I can come back later.

Massimo: No, no, no, no, come in, come in. We've got to furnish this house. I can't carry my bride across the threshold and not have a place to sit.

Samantha: Well, I've got some fabric samples for you.

Massimo: Good.

Samantha: Yes. Okay, give me those. Those are for Mr. Marone, yes. That's a good boy. Okay, now, the fabric you chose for the dining room chairs has been discontinued. But I think I've found something even better.

Massimo: Wait, wait, wait, wait. You're staying with Stephanie, huh?

Samantha: Right.

Massimo: And haven't you heard?

Samantha: Heard what?

Massimo: What I just learned. That they are getting control of Forrester Creations back.

Samantha: Well, she hasn't been around. She was meeting with lawyers and then she went out of town.

Massimo: Aye. When she went down to Mexico to recruit Macy and Deacon. That's Thorne's ex-wife and her new husband.

Samantha: Uh-huh. I think I'm missing something.

Massimo: All right. Well, see, these are two people that Brooke has not treated very well. As a matter of fact, she made a habit of kicking them when they were down.

Samantha: And now they're somehow involved in her removal from Forrester?

Massimo: More than involved. Deacon has the deciding vote.

Samantha: How did he manage that?

[Massimo laughs]

Massimo: Oh, boy, that's the beauty of it. Ha-ha! Brooke gave it to him -- without realizing it, of course, and that son of a gun Stephanie, she put it all together. Oh, god, she must be ecstatic.

Samantha: Brooke has been in charge of Forrester since -- well, since her divorce from Eric, right?

Massimo: Right. And Stephanie has been fighting her every step of the way. I used to tell her, you know, she was so foolish. Give it up, you know? What is she wasting her life on trying to straighten out Eric's problems? But she wouldn't let it go.

Samantha: She's very loyal.

Massimo: Stubborn.

Samantha: Same thing.

Massimo: Yeah, well, it certainly has paid off, hasn't it? And whether he deserves it or not, Eric is gonna get his company back.

Samantha: Well, good for them.

                        **********************************************************************************************

Stephanie: Deacon -- cast your vote.

Eric: Wait. Stephanie, I appreciate very much what you're trying to do, but I will not be beholden to that man.

Macy: You won't be, Eric. You won't owe him anything. He's doing this because it's the right thing to do.

Bridget: Oh, excuse me, but the right thing to do? When has that ever mattered to you? Deacon, it wasn't enough? Huh? It wasn't enough what you did to me? You're gonna walk in here and tear my family apart all over again? Stephanie, why are you doing this? I don't care how much you hate my mother. What are you doing teaming up with him?

Rick: You come into my house. You tell me how terrible you feel that that son of a bitch is taking my son. You were thrilled, weren't you?

Stephanie: No, I was not thrilled, Rick. The boy belongs with you and amber. Deacon knows that's exactly how I feel. What I'm trying to do is right a wrong here that has been going on since you and your sister were babies. Because that's how long your father's hands have been tied while your -- your mother has been running his company.

Rick: And doing a very good job.

Stephanie: Well, that's debatable, but at the moment, irrelevant.

Rick: Irrelevant?

Stephanie: The time for discussion is past. There is a motion on the floor. Deacon, cast your vote!

Brooke: Think before you answer that.

Macy: Why, Brooke? What are you gonna do if he votes against you? You can't possibly treat him any worse than you already have.

Brooke: Are you trying to hurt me?

Deacon: No.

Brooke: Are you trying to make your new wife happy?

Deacon: Okay, look, that's not why I'm here.

Brooke: Well, then, what are you doing here?

Stephanie: Representing the best interests of his son. Now, Deacon, vote. Eric is CEO, aye or nay.

Deacon: Aye, aye, aye, okay?

Stephanie: Motion carried!

                        *******************************************************************************************

Samantha: So what happens when Ridge finds out?

Massimo: What do you mean when he finds out? He's in the middle of it.

Samantha: He is? Who's he voting for?

Massimo: Eric, of course. He's got the same streak of loyalty in him.

Samantha: I always liked that about him.

Massimo: That's a good thing, but I doubt that Brooke will appreciate it. Oh, god, it's so brilliant. Stephanie is getting Brooke out of the company and Ridge's life, all in one fell swoop. Brilliant. Couldn't have done it better myself.

                        *******************************************************************************************

Stephanie: It's yours again. It's yours.

Rick: This -- this can't be legal. Look, Dad, I'm sorry, no offense, but, I mean, a loophole, a technicality like this --

Stephanie: How do you think your mother became CEO?

Bridget: She earned it.

Stephanie: She took advantage of your father and his trust.

Ridge: Mother, enough.

Brooke: Finally. The voice of reason.

Ridge: Look, Logan –

Brooke: It's okay, Ridge. You couldn't have possibly known what your mother was up to. How could anybody predict that? But you know what? It doesn't matter. We'll just vote again.

Stephanie: That isn't going to help you.

Brooke: Because you live in the past. You still think I'm a caterer's helper, that I'm an intruder, that I don't belong. Well, you know what, Stephanie? We've all moved on. I'm a valued member in this family and in this company.

Eric: Brooke, that's absolutely true.

Brooke: See? I don't think you realize how far we've really come. And in fact, this last year, Taylor's death, Portofino, this whole family grew very close. And Ridge and I -- well, as strange as it may sound, I think we're closer now than we've ever been.

Ridge: Yes, we are.

Brooke: So you can stop your crazy, little antics, Stephanie. Or go ahead. Go. Sound off your battle cry and -- with your little sergeant at arms here and we'll just do what we need to get done, okay?

Stephanie: That's fine, as long as you do it under Eric's direction. He is the CEO.

Brooke: Look, Rick was right. Deacon can't possibly be entitled to vote little Eric's shares.

Ridge: Actually, he can, Brooke.

Brooke: Why, Ridge? Because your mother said so? I'm gonna have to talk to my lawyer and get back to all of you.

Stephanie: Why don't we do that right now?

Brooke: Stephanie, I'm gonna have to go over there and --

Stephanie: Yes, I understand, but he's right here.

Brooke: Edward. What are you doing here?

Stephanie: Ridge asked him to come to the meeting.

Brooke: Ridge?

Stephanie: He thought that after the vote, you might have some questions.

Ridge: Mother, come on.

Brooke: So you knew what she was up to?

Ridge: Yes, I did.

Brooke: And you voted against me?

                        ********************************************************************************************

Samantha: You know, I thought Brooke was just paranoid, but I -- I guess she was right. You really don't care for her.

Massimo: Well, lucky for me. Look at those that do. They lose their companies, their marriages, their children.

Samantha: Well, then I guess Ridge was saved a fate worse than death.

Massimo: You said it.

Samantha: But I suppose she's just gonna turn to your other son, huh?

Massimo: Well, now, that's a problem for another day. Now, let us get back to the business at hand.

Samantha: Right.

Massimo: As far as I'm concerned -- I like this one. I think you're right about this one.

Samantha: That's the one I like.

Massimo: This one here --

Jackie: Oh, sorry. I'm interrupting.

Massimo: Oh, well, well, well, well. No, no, no, no. Come right in. Come right in. I want you to meet Samantha Kelly. This lovely lady is my fiancée, Jacqueline Payne.

Jackie: How do you do?

Samantha: It's nice to meet you.

Jackie: What an adorable little dog. Do you work here?

Samantha: Uh, well, no. I mean, not exactly.

Massimo: She's a consultant.

Jackie: Oh, I see. On what?

Samantha: Beg pardon?

Jackie: What do you consult on?

Samantha: Oh, uh --

Massimo: Well, I think we should come clean. Hmm?

Jackie: Yes, I think so, too.

Massimo: Samantha is a very good friend of the Forresters. Actually, she is staying with Stephanie. And she heard a little bit of gossip that she knew would give me joy.

Jackie: No, Massimo, don't tell me you're spying on them now.

Massimo: No, no, no, no, no.

Jackie: You should be ashamed of yourself.

Massimo: Oh, okay, fine. That means that you don't wanna hear the news?

Jackie: Of course not. I mean, what do I care what Stephanie's up to?

Massimo: Even if it involves your old pal, Eric?

Jackie: Well, I suppose one or the other of them has finally filed for divorce.

Massimo: Well, I don't think that's gonna happen.

Jackie: Oh, they've reconciled?

Massimo: Well, it's just a matter of time. Now that she has slain the dragon for him.

Jackie: Dragon? What are you talking about?

Massimo: Brooke. She finally got rid of her, with a little help from Ridge.

                        ****************************************************************************************

Bridget: No. Ridge, you wouldn't do this.

Rick: Why not? Why the hell not? It's vintage Ridge. Get her to care, get her to trust you, get her to think "maybe, just maybe, this time --" and then you twist the knife.

Ridge: That's not what just happened here, Rick.

Rick: You didn't just vote against her?

Thorne: He voted for his father, Rick. Big difference.

Ridge: Brooke, everything you just mentioned is still true. You're a part of this family, you're a part of this company. And you are the woman I love.

Brooke: Don't.

Ridge: This has nothing to do with you and me.

Brooke: How can you say that?

Ridge: This is about the company, and my father's legacy.

Brooke: No, this is about revenge. About two bitter women who would do anything they can to hurt me. And you helped them, Ridge!

Ridge: Brooke, you still own 49% of the company.

Rick: This is ridiculous. Edward, can they do this?

Edward: If you're asking me, does Deacon have the power to vote these shares, the answer is yes. As little Eric's parent and legal guardian, he is entitled.

Rick: Is that what you were after all along?

Deacon: What? Oh, yeah. Yeah, Rick, you got me. This is what I've been angling for all along, yeah.

Macy: We didn't know about the shares until Stephanie came to us, Rick.

Bridget: But you were only too happy to oblige, right?

Macy: I knew what it would mean to your father, Bridget. Don't you?

Bridget: Please. Dad, come on, not like this. This is gonna tear us apart.

Eric: Bridget, we're gonna be all right. We'll be okay. I have a great deal of respect for your mother and for the contribution that she's made.

Brooke: Contribution? Contribution? Eric, this is my company. Sure, you started it. Fine. But where we are now, that is a result of my vision and my effort. Brooke's bedroom, belief, the men's line, Ambrosia -- Forrester today is a reflection of who I am.

Stephanie: Well, then we're going to fix that, aren't we?

Brooke: We're gonna vote again.

Thorne: What?

Brooke: I'm calling another vote to reinstate Brooke Logan as chief executive officer.

Stephanie: I don't see the point.

Brooke: Ridge, I know how much your father means to you and how much this company means to him. But did you ever stop to think for a second how much it means to me? This is the one constant in my life. Nothing or no one has been there for me the way this company has. And when you turned me down, my heart and my soul, I brought it here. When I thought the whole world turned its back on me, I came here. And when I thought I didn't have a reason to wake up in the morning, this was it! This was the place where I came to prove myself to myself. And where I showed those people that thought that I didn't matter, or that I was worthless, that they were wrong! And I'll be damned if I let you take that away from me! Megan, call the roll. We're taking another vote.

                        ***********************************************************************************

Jackie: Let's back up here, shall we? When you said that Stephanie "got rid" of Brooke --

Massimo: No, no, no, no, no. Not literally. They're voting her out of Forrester.

Jackie: Can they do that?

Massimo: Apparently so.

Jackie: I can't imagine what they're gonna do without her.

Massimo: Oh, but she's still gonna be around. She owns 49% of the company. She just won't be in charge.

Jackie: Poor girl.

Massimo: "Poor girl"? I thought at least your sympathies would be with Eric.

Jackie: Well, of course I'm very happy for his sake. But I've worked with Brooke. I know how she thrives on it and how she feels about Ridge. Is he voting with the family?

Samantha: Oh, that's what I heard.

Jackie: Oh, my. What she's gonna go through.

                        *************************************************************************************

Brooke: All right, Megan, let's begin. Start the vote.

Megan: On the motion to reinstate Brooke Logan as CEO -- Bridget Forrester.

Bridget: Aye. Ridge, please don't hurt her again.

Megan: Eric Forrester.

Brooke: Eric -- what are you going to do to this family and to this company? People are going to take sides. There's going to be bitterness and division. And Stephanie doesn't have a problem with that, but you --

Eric: I see this differently, Brooke. I think this could end the resentment that divides us. Megan, I vote nay.

Megan: Eric Forrester Jr.

Rick: I know how much this means to you, Dad. But anyone who has ever teamed up with Deacon pays a price. Don't think it'll be any different for you, Macy.

Deacon: You know, man, you just keep pushing.

Rick: Aye.

Megan: Stephanie Forrester.

Stephanie: Nay.

Megan: Thorne Forrester.

Brooke: Thorne, she's using Macy. And the marriage to Deacon, which you know is wrong. And to top that off, they have Rick's son. I mean, how could you go along with this?

Thorne: It's dad's name above the door, Brooke. This company has been his mission in life since before you were born. I vote nay.

Megan: Deacon Sharpe.

Brooke: The last time you were here in this office, you brought me here, from Ojai. Because they were going to vote me out of office again. And you didn't want that to happen. And now you're here, siding with them against me.

Macy: What are you saying, Brooke? That he owes you some kind of loyalty? Where was your loyalty to him? Deacon, by her own admission, you saved her hide. And how did she repay you? By cutting you out of her life and out of your daughter's life.

Deacon: That's not why I'm doing this.

Macy: I know. I know. You don't want revenge, honey. You're above that. But what she did to you, she did to Eric. He started her in this business. He gave her every opportunity. And she used that against him.

Brooke: That's not how it was!

Macy: She took away his life's work. And now she expects sympathy from you and from him? Don't buy into that.

Bridget: Deacon -- you've done enough damage.

Deacon: I am deeply sorry for everything that happened. But that does not change the fact that Macy's right. I vote nay.

Megan: Ridge Forrester.

Brooke: The moment of truth.

Ridge: I'm in an impossible situation here.

Brooke: Impossible? Impossible -- when just a few weeks ago, you were begging to find a way to try to show me how much you really love me.

Ridge: No, no, no, Brooke. Please don't do that. Don't make this a test of my feelings.

Rick: Well, how else is she gonna see it, Ridge?

Ridge: Rick, there are a lot of things more important than business.

Brooke: Yes. And they're all on the line. I won't do this with you anymore, Ridge. I won't come in second with you any more. This is it. So you tell me, and you tell me now. Which way is it going to go?
