Rick: Mom, I know. Deacon's behavior is starting to worry me, too.

Brooke: But you let him take little Eric for the day.

Rick: That was Amber's idea.

Brooke: Honey, he's your son, too.

Rick: Look, all the guy wants to do right now is spend a couple of hours with his kids. If we give him that, he might be satisfied.

Brooke: He gave up parental rights to little Eric. He shouldn't be entitled to visitation.

Rick: It's just for a day.

Brooke: Until he asks for another day.

Rick: Or until he gets it out of his system. You still think this is a phase, don't you?

Brooke: He's a loner. Deacon's never going to cut it as a father.

Rick: Yeah, I agree with you there. And a child shouldn't have to pay the price for having the wrong parent. What?

[Brooke sighs]

Brooke: Nothing.

Rick: You're thinking about Ridge, aren't you?

Brooke: No. I'm thinking about Ridge's brother, Nick.

                        ************************************************************************************************

Nick: Heads up.

Jackie: Huh? Oh, Nicky, honestly. A blanket? It's July.

Nick: Well, you spent most of your life taking care of me. I think I can put a blanket on you.

Jackie: Well, I'm fine, really, but thank you. How are you?

Nick: I've been better.

Jackie: Yeah. I'm sorry. I should have told you years ago that Massimo was your father.

Nick: We've dealt with that. Let's move past it.

Jackie: But it's obviously still troubling you.

Nick: It's a bit weird, but my father wants to be part of my life, and I'm grateful for that. But having Forrester as a brother is -- I told Brooke about it. She didn't take it very well.

Jackie: Hmm. Well, I'm sure you'll work it out.

Nick: I don't think so. She walked out on me.

                        **************************************************************************************

Sally: Well, Macy, this is very nice. You helped Deacon find this place?

Macy: Yeah, well, his motel wasn't exactly kid-friendly.

[Sally chuckles]

Sally: Well, I am sure that this place is much cheerier. And so are you.

Macy: You noticed, huh?

Sally: Kind of hard not to notice, when I compare how you are now as to how you were a month ago.

Macy: I don't even want to think about that. I'm just looking forward now.

Sally: To what?

Macy: Well, to spending the day with Deacon and his son.

Sally: And after that?

Macy: One day at a time. One wonderful day at a time.

Sally: Uh-huh. I get it.

Macy: What?

Sally: Well, it's just kind of hard to take in. I mean, this miraculous change in you. And it is even more miraculous to consider that it is all thanks to Mr. Deacon Sharpe.

Macy: Yeah, well, deacon's changed a lot, too. See this chip? He's been sober for 60 days now.

Sally: Good for him. That's a real accomplishment.

Macy: And it's only just the beginning. He's turning his -- his whole life around.

Sally: With your help.

Macy: Yeah, well, we're helping each other.

Sally: You know, I believe you are. I will admit I had my doubts at the beginning. I was very concerned about you spending so much time with Deacon and his children, and because of his connection with Brooke. How's that going?

Macy: Well, Rick and Amber are being very accommodating -- at least Amber has convinced Rick to let Deacon have this little visit with his son.

Sally: And Brooke?

Macy: She's determined to keep Deacon from Hope.

Sally: But he's not going to stand for that?

Macy: No, we are not gonna stand for it.

Sally: Tell me something, Macy. Does Brooke know that you're involved in this?

Macy: No. And she's not gonna find out, either.

Deacon: Not yet. Not yet. Okay, now you can look. What do you think?

[Laughter] pretty cool, huh?

Macy: Oh, how are you? Aren't you gonna say hi?

Deacon: Say hi.

                        ********************************************************************************************

Jackie: Brooke walked out on you? What did she say?

Nick: Not much. She just left. She couldn't handle it.

Jackie: Why not?

Nick: Because I was an escape to the complications in her life, and that's not the case anymore.

Jackie: Complications? I mean, no relationship is without complications.

Nick: I'm getting that.

Jackie: Nicky, you've got to talk to her.

Nick: I tried.

Jackie: Try again.

Nick: She's made up her mind.

Jackie: Don't do that.

Nick: What?

Jackie: Pretend that it doesn't matter. Because it does.

                        **********************************************************************************************

Rick: Ridge and Nick are both Massimo's sons?

Brooke: Yes.

Rick: They're half brothers.

Brooke: You see how this changes everything?

Rick: No, honestly, I don't.

Brooke: Rick, I can't get involved with either one of them.

Rick: Well, do you care about both of them?

Brooke: Well, that's not the point. I thought I had something different with nick. Something simple and untainted.

Rick: You like him.

Brooke: It's more than that. It's just that every time I get involved with somebody that's connected to Ridge -- I can't. I just -- I won't do that anymore.

Rick: Well, then -- what are you gonna do?

Brooke: I walked out on him.

Rick: What?

Brooke: After he told me.

Rick: Oh, Mom.

Brooke: Honey, I just couldn't take it. I just -- I just, I want things to be different. You know, I wanted to be different.

Rick: You are.

Brooke: I don't want to make the same mistakes that I've made in the past.

Rick: Look, Mom, the only mistake that you have ever made is picking the wrong guy. Nick is a good guy.

Brooke: Yes, he is.

Rick: And he's good for you.

Brooke: Well, I thought so, until all of this happened.

Rick: Mom, will you listen to yourself? Why do you think you feel so strongly about this? Because you care about him -- more than even you realize. Would you really want to take this chance?

Brooke: Nick and I have shared a lot. I'm not denying that.

Rick: Exactly. You came to him when his mother was in the hospital. I can only imagine how torn up he was, but he let you in. And you were there for him. Seems to me like you guys have something special. And yet, you walked out on him.

Brooke: He probably thinks I want nothing to do with him.

Rick: But that's not true. Look, Mom, every relationship is complicated.

Brooke: Not like this.

Rick: Do you really want to let him go?

Brooke: I told Nick that he could count on me.

Rick: It's okay to be scared.

Brooke: So you think I should talk to him?

Rick: What do you think?

Brooke: I think I owe him that much.

                        *****************************************************************************************

Jackie: You are not the easiest man in the world to get to know, Nicky, but you opened up to Brooke.

Nick: Ha! A lot of good that did me.

Jackie: Yes, it did. I could see the change in you.

Nick: Well, yeah, I've changed. I'm a Marone! I have a father, I have a brother, and I get to lose the girl because of it.

Jackie: Yeah, well, if you lose her, you know, you're gonna have no one to blame but yourself.

Nick: You don't pick your parents, mother.

Jackie: Fight for this, Nicky. Who cares if Ridge is your half brother?

Nick: She does! Her whole life has revolved around this guy, and I wanted to break that cycle.

Jackie: What, and now you can't? I mean --

Nick: I don't know how to explain it, mother. It's just complicated. The whole situation, it's screwed up. It's a mess.

Jackie: Then work harder. You share something very special with her.

Nick: It just doesn't seem to have the same meaning if I'm connected to Forrester.

Jackie: Nicky, I believe that Brooke was falling for you. And if that's the case, she is not gonna turn her back on you.

Nick: Well, she did. I don't want to talk about it. It's over. I'll call you later.

Jackie: Ni -- Nicky, Nicky. Nicky.

                        ************************************************************************************

Amber: Oh, hey. There you are.

Rick: Hey. How did everything go with Deacon?

Amber: Just fine. You know, Deacon, he picked up Eric, just like we planned.

Rick: And?

Amber: And he was sober. And Eric was happy to see him.

Rick: What are they gonna do today?

Amber: I don't know. Sounds like they were just gonna hang out at Deacon's house.

Rick: Wait, his house? I thought he lived in a motel.

Amber: No, he got a new place.

Rick: When?

Amber: A couple days ago. You know, he's getting some money in now because April's on the road, and he scored some new clients.

Rick: Well, you at least got his address, right?

Amber: Yes. And his cell number.

Rick: You know what, I'll just be -- I'll be happy when this is over with. I --

Amber: I know. I know, babe. I'm nervous about it, too. But if this works out, it might be the best thing for everybody.

                        ***********************************************************************************

[Macy making car noises]

[laughter]

Deacon: She's a little cuckoo, huh, buddy? Yeah.

Little Eric: Yeah.

Deacon: Yes, I think so too.

Macy: Yeah. I'm so glad you could come, mom. It's been a little while since you've seen little Eric, isn't it?

Sally: Yes, it certainly has been a while. Hi, Eric.

Macy: Eric, you know who this is? That's my mommy.

Little Eric: You're cuckoo's mommy?

[Laughter]

Sally: Cuckoo who?

Deacon: Yes. Yes, she is cuckoo's mommy. Runs in the family.

Sally: Listen, Deacon. I haven't had a chance to thank you for helping Macy out with the renegotiation on that contract. She said it was very good.

Deacon: It was the strangest thing. I mean, it came through late last night. But you know, this was the least I can do for everything Macy's done for me.

Sally: Well, I hope that her being involved like this isn't gonna cause any problems. I understand Brooke doesn't know yet that she's been spending so much time with the children.

Deacon: No. No, she doesn't.

Sally: Well, is there gonna be a problem?

Deacon: Look at the way she relates to little D. I mean, how could Brooke possibly have any problem with that? I figure if this visit goes well, I'd say we're on our way.

                        *******************************************************************************************

Nick: Get me out to sea! You know, you try to do the right things in life, and you run into a dysfunctional situation. Hey, where are my keys?

Brooke: Going somewhere?

                        *****************************************************************************************

Amber: I made the rules very clear to Deacon.

Rick: And he's going to follow them.

Amber: He will if he ever wants to see Eric again. Don't worry. Deacon, he wants to prove himself. Okay? He'll be on his best behavior. All he wants to do is spend some time alone with his son.

Old macdonald had a farm e-I-e-I-oh and on this farm he had a

macy: What? What? Oh.

[Laughter] excuse --

Deacon: Come on, keep singing. He loves this song. Come on.

Little Eric: Moo. Moo.

Macy: Moo.

And a moo moo here and a moo moo there here a moo there a moo everywhere a moo moo

old macdonald had a farm

Macy: Big finish.

E-i-e-i-oh

Deacon: Okay, all right. On that note, I think it's time to take five. You come with me, 'cause I want to take some pictures of you, so I can put them all over the house. Oh. Hey, what do you say we --

Macy: Isn't he great?

Sally: Which one?

Macy: Well, they're both pretty terrific.

Sally: It's pretty obvious they feel the same way about you, too.

Macy: Deacon's doing such a great job with his kids. I don't know why Brooke and Rick are making it so difficult for him. He just -- he wants to spend time with them. He needs that.

Sally: He's not the only one.

Macy: You don't have to worry about me.

Sally: That little boy is a Forrester, Macy. Don't get too attached. Please, don't set yourself up to be hurt again.

Macy: So, okay. What did you draw?

Deacon: Well, Eric, can I show it to Macy? Let's see. I think -- I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I think it's a cow.

Macy: That's a cow.

Deacon: It's a purple cow.

Macy: It is. It's a purple and green cow.

Deacon: He made it for you.

Macy: For me?

Deacon: Yeah.

Macy: Oh, thank you. Hey, can I get a hug?

Deacon: Give Macy a hug?

Macy: I love it. It's beautiful.

                        *******************************************************************************************

Nick: Well, you're the last person I expected to see.

Brooke: I know. I didn't come here to make excuses. I just wanted to explain. Finding out that you and ridge were brothers -- that was just really hard on me.

Nick: It's understandable. I also know that I'm probably the last man in the world you want to have feelings for.

Brooke: No, Nick. You're wrong. I didn't walk away because I don't have feelings for you. I walked away because I do.

                        ****************************************************************************************

Announcer: Coming soon to "the bold and the beautiful" --

Nick: I don't wanna run away but I can't take it I don't understand

Brooke: I ran away because I was scared. I didn't want to face my feelings for you.

Nick: When something feels right in life, you just don't get rid of it.

Bridget: What's going on between you and nick?

I don't wanna run away but I can't take it

Ridge: You look absolutely delicious.

Brooke: So do you.

Bridget: You're dating both of them?

Brooke: I'm just weighing all my options.

Tell me that I am

Bridget: I can't believe you're doing this.

Brooke: What?

Bridget: Playing these two men against each other.

Brooke: It's nice being pursued for once.

Announcer: Brooke, Nick, Ridge. Hot enough for you? On "the bold and the beautiful."
