Intercom: Paging Dr. Stateman.

Dr. Stateman, please.

Nick: Hi.

Brooke: Hi.

Nick: She awake yet?

Brooke: I don't know. Dr. Brauer's still in there with her.

Nick: You said you saw something?

Brooke: Well, her eyes fluttered. I mean, I don't know what that means, but that's got to be good, right?

Nick: Thanks for calling me.

Brooke: Nick, I really think she's coming out of her coma.

Nick: You should probably go home now.

Brooke: I can stay --

Nick: I'll call you if I hear anything.

Brooke: No matter what time it is.

Nick: I'm gonna go in now.

Ridge: Hey, Logan. Hold up here.

Brooke: Ridge.

Ridge: I was afraid you'd left. How's Nick's mother?

Brooke: I don't know. He just went in there with her.

Ridge: Bridget said she was still in a coma.

Brooke: Where is Bridget?

Ridge: She went home.

Brooke: I gotta go home, too.

Ridge: I'll -- I'll drive you.

Brooke: No, I have my car.

Ridge: We can just leave it here. We'll pick it up tomorrow. Come on. I'm gonna take you home.

Stephanie: Bridget?

Bridget: Yeah? Hi.

Stephanie: Hi. How's everything at the hospital?

Bridget: Mrs. Payne is still in a coma.

Stephanie: Oh, my lord. What did your father have to say?

Bridget: I didn't get to see him, actually. The nurse said he came by, but I guess I missed him.

Stephanie: Oh.

Bridget: I'm sorry.

Stephanie: Oh, no. Don't be. He should be concerned. He has every right to be. I mean, we should all be. The woman's fighting for her life.

Bridget: A plane crash. I mean, god, you never think something like that -- I can only imagine what this is doing to Nick right now.

[Sound of heart monitor]

Massimo: What's going on?

Nick: The doctor's still checking her out.

Massimo: Is she coherent?

Nick: I don't think so.

Dr. Brauer: Captain Payne?

Nick: Is she waking up?

Dr. Brauer: She's still unresponsive.

Nick: I was told that her eyes had moved.

Dr. Brauer: It's not uncommon in coma patients to exhibit subtle involuntary motor functions. Twitching, eye movement, tremors in the extremities.

Massimo: Yeah, but that's normal, isn't it?

Nick: But it doesn't mean anything.

Dr. Brauer: No. It might not.

Massimo: It's not a bad sign.

Dr. Brauer: No, not at all. We're alleviating the intercranial pressure with diuretics. And if they continue to work, we won't have to hyperventilate her. But we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.

Massimo: All right, thank you, doctor. We can stay with her, right?

Dr. Brauer: Yes. I'll be back in a little while.

Massimo: Thank you.

Nick: It didn't mean anything.

Massimo: The drugs are working.

Nick: But she really might not wake up.

Massimo: Look, Dominic. Let's hope for the best, all right? No matter what happens, I'm your father. I'm here for you.

Brooke: Thanks for the ride, Ridge. Good night.

Ridge: Good night? No, no, no, no, no. You're not getting rid of me that easily.

[Brooke sighs]

Bridget: Nick is Jackie Payne's son.

Stephanie: I didn't -- I had no idea she was his mother.

Bridget: Yeah. And he was there when she got out of surgery.

Stephanie: Well, I'm glad he was able to see her.

Bridget: Oh, no, Stephanie. I don't think that was much consolation, believe me. He's already lost so much. You know, his father died when he was just a child, and he doesn't have any brothers or sisters.

Stephanie: So he's going to have to handle this all on his own.

Bridget: Not completely. My mom's been there for him.

Ridge: Okay, come on in here and just sit down.

[Brooke sighs]

Brooke: Ridge, I know there's something you wanted to tell me.

Ridge: Yes, there is.

Brooke: Well, can't it wait? I'm really not up for a heart-to-heart about us.

Ridge: It's not about us, Brooke. It's about Massimo and Nick.

Brooke: It was Massimo's plane. I know what happened.

Ridge: Yeah, but there's more.

Brooke: Tell me tomorrow.

Ridge: Look, are you gonna see nick? Because if you do, there's something you need to know.

Brooke: Ridge, oh, my god. His mother's in the hospital. Have a little sympathy. Let's just take this up tomorrow, okay?

Ridge: All right. All right. We'll discuss it later.

Brooke: Good, thank you. Now right now, I just want to go up and kiss my daughter, and I really, really need to unwind.

Ridge: Okay. You go ahead. I'll close up down here, okay? Go.

Brooke: You're gonna lock up, right?

Ridge: Yeah. I'll take care of everything. Go. Go ahead.

[Sound of heart monitor]

Nick: Mom? Guess who I'm here with? I'll give you one guess. Massimo. He told me everything. I know who I am now. And I know how hard it must've been for you to keep that secret all those years. Hey, I thought it was just the two of us. But I got a lot of questions. And you're the only one who can answer them, so -- so you'd better wake up. Come on. Wake up. You just -- you just can't leave me now. Not now. Not now.

Stephanie: Your mother is helping Nick through this ordeal?

Bridget: Yeah, they've been friends for a little while.

Stephanie: Are they dating?

Bridget: I think they've gone out.

Stephanie: Does Ridge know about this?

Bridget: Ridge doesn't think it's serious.

Stephanie: So you've talked to him about this?

Bridget: At the hospital. He was looking for mom, and she was in with Mrs. Payne.

Stephanie: Sounds as though they're more than just friends.

Bridget: Well, Ridge isn't worried about it.

Stephanie: And I don't want you worrying about Ridge.

Bridget: Stephanie, if it wasn't for me, Ridge and mom would be married right now.

Stephanie: That was her decision.

Bridget: Say what you want. I know what I did. I just hope mom can find a way to get past this and trust Ridge again.

Brooke: Ridge, I don't think you understood me. I said --

Ridge: I know what you said. You said you wanted to unwind. Isn't this what you had in mind?

Brooke: How do you always know exactly what I need?

Ridge: Practice. Come on over. I'll give you a foot rub.

Brooke: Uh-uh-uh. Remember our new boundaries.

Ridge: Oh, nothing below the neck. Yeah, yeah. Well, there's nothing wrong with a neck rub, then.

Brooke: Oh.

Ridge: Come on, I can see how tense you are. Just sit down here.

Brooke: Mm.

Ridge: Okay, there. How's that feel?

Brooke: Good.

Ridge: Good.

Brooke: Thanks.

Ridge: Yeah.

Brooke: Is this why you drove me home from the hospital?

Ridge: No. But when I saw how exhausted you were --

Brooke: You wanted to butter me up while my defenses were down.

Ridge: I wasn't buttering you up for anything, Logan. There's no place I'd rather be, and no one I'd rather be with, okay? Obviously, that's not where your head is, though.

Brooke: How long were you waiting for me at the hospital?

Ridge: Not long. You were there for Nick. I--- I  understand that. Logan, we've been through a difficult time this last long while. Lots of changes for both of us. But one thing -- one thing has remained constant for me through all this craziness and stuff that we've been going through. That one constant thing is my -- my trust in what I feel for you.

Brooke: I used to feel the same way about you, too.

Ridge: You still can, you know. Because I'm right here. I'm right here for you, waiting to restart my life with you.

Massimo: It's all right. It's all right. She's not going anywhere, Dominic. Can you hear me, Jackie? Jackie, can you hear me? You can't do that to our boy. He needs you. We both need you. Oh, Jacqueline. Jacqueline. There's so much I want to make up for. All the years that we lost. Our son -- our son is a grown man now. I didn't see him grow up. I wasn't there for him, but -- I am now. I missed his growing up and I missed you -- more than you can possibly imagine. If I had only reached out. Just a phone call. One call, and our life would have been -- it should've been so different.

[Massimo sighs] I thought it was over. But it isn't. It isn't, Jacqueline. It's not over. We could start again. Yes. We can start again. Right now.

[Massimo sighs] but I can't do it without you. Oh, my god. She squeezed my hand. She squeezed my hand. Oh.

Nick: Mom?

Massimo: She squeezed my hand.

Nick: Mom. Keep fighting. Come back to us. Come on.

Massimo: Come on. Do it again.

Nick: Mom. Keep fighting.

Massimo: She'd have -- she squeezed my hand, she did. I felt it.

Brooke: Ridge.

Ridge: Logan?

Brooke: Ridge, stop. Stop.

Ridge: What's wrong?

Brooke: I can't.

Ridge: This isn't what you want?

Brooke: Not like this. I don't want to be seduced.

Ridge: I just thought it felt kind of romantic.

Brooke: Oh, it is. It is, it's wonderful. It's just that I need more.

Ridge: More what?

Brooke: I need to be sure. I saw you and Bridget talking tonight. I didn't think you were going to see each other anymore.

Ridge: I was looking for you, Brooke. We were talking about you. I was telling her how much I care about you, and she was wishing us well. Brooke, there's absolutely no reason in the world why you have to worry about Bridget and me.

Brooke: It's not just you and Bridget. It's me. I'm just not ready.

Ridge: You still don't trust me?

Brooke: I want to. But the thought of giving myself completely to you, and not getting all of you in return --

Ridge: But you will. I'm telling you right now, you will.

Brooke: But I'm not sure. And until I'm sure, I just can't do this. I'm sorry. I can't.

Ridge: But you will, Logan. You will. I am not giving up on us.

Stephanie: You think your mother's interested in Nick?

Bridget: Well, she hasn't really told me that much about it, but I get the impression that Nick's been really supportive of her, especially after she walked out on the wedding.

Stephanie: Well, she was back on the market again.

Bridget: He's not like that. He comes off as a tough guy, but deep down -- when he saw his mom in the hospital, he was devastated. If Jackie doesn't come out of the coma, I don't know --

Stephanie: Let's just pray that she does.

Bridget: I will, and you should, too. 'Cause without his mother, Nick is alone in the world.

[Sound of heart monitor]

Massimo: Jacqueline? Jacqueline, can you hear me?

Nick: Mom? Mom? Mom?

[Jackie mumbling]

Jackie: Ni -- Nicky?

Nick: We're right here.

Massimo: Yes, yes. Welcome back, pretty lady.

Jackie: Oh. Am -- am I dreaming?

Massimo: No, no, no, no, you're not dreaming. I'm here. I'm here with our son.

Nick: You had us scared.

Massimo: Oh -- it's gonna happen. It's gonna happen for us, Jackie. After all these years, we're -- we're a family.
