Deacon: Okay. Apples. Another juice. Got the cheese. And got the crackers. [Deacon sighs] well, it's not exactly the Ritz Carlton, is it? But I don't think Little D's gonna mind. I know he's gonna like you.

[Deacon sighs]

[phone rings]

Amber: Amber Forrester.

Deacon: Hey, it's me. What time are you gonna bring him over?

Amber: I'm not sure today's really gonna work for us.

Deacon: Amber, what's going on?

Amber: It's just that -- yeah, I'm not really comfortable with this arrangement.

Deacon: I thought we had this all worked out.

Amber: I thought so, too. But Rick doesn't want you spending time with the kids. And you know, I can't just ignore his feelings.

Deacon: Amber, your hubby's gonna get over it. My son's not. Please? I've disappointed him so much in the past. Don't make me do it again.

Amber: I'll see what I can do.

Deacon: Thanks. Thanks. I'm gonna be waiting, okay?

Rick: Hey, buddy. How are you doing, pal? Busy day?

Amber: Nonstop. Seems like everybody wants something from me.

Rick: Well, I'll tell you what. Why I don't make something easier for you and take Eric down to day care?

Amber: Uh, I -- I kind of made other arrangements already. You know, sort of a play date.

Rick: With who?

Amber: Deacon.

Rick: No way. Absolutely not.

Amber: Just listen to me.

Rick: I can't believe you, Amber.

Amber: Well, it's only going to be a short visit.

Rick: Call and cancel.

Amber: He is Eric's biological father. We cannot just cut him out.

Rick: The hell we can't.

[Knock at door]

Stephanie: Sally?

Sally: Hello, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Was I expecting you?

Sally: Oh, no. But you know me. I never wait for an engraved invitation.

Stephanie: And what brings you here?

Sally: Well, I understand that congratulations are in order.

Stephanie: Really?

Sally: Mm-hmm. A little bird tells me that Thorne is about to make you a grandmother again.

Stephanie: Oh, my God. This is fabulous. They're going to adopt. Sally, this is just -- well, I mean, I knew how upset Macy was after the hysterectomy. But, oh, I'm so pleased they've made this decision. Now they can have the family they wanted.

Sally: That's what Thorne was counting on.

Stephanie: Well, you know, he'd do anything he could in this world to make her happy.

Sally: Well, he would do anything all right, including lying, cheating and deceiving her.

Stephanie: What are you talking about, Sally?

Sally: I'm talking about your devoted son, Thorne. What a prince.

Stephanie: I don't know why you're in this foul mood. But let's just get past it, all right? I mean, let's be happy. We have a grandchild on the way. Macy must just be thrilled.

Sally: Well, "thrilled" isn't exactly the word I would use to describe how she's feeling. She's felling more betrayed and heartbroken than that. You see, Thorne is having a baby, but not with Macy -- with someone else.

Macy: I'm sorry I'm having to kick you out of your office.

Clarke: Well, I could use a little walk, go down to the cutting room.

Macy: I just can't meet him back at the house. There are just too many memories.

Clarke: Hey, Macy? Are you sure this is what you want?

Macy: It's what I have to do.

Clarke: Be strong. I'll be around if you need me.

Thorne: Hey. It's good to see you.

Macy: I wish I could say the same thing.

Thorne: How have you been?

Macy: You don't want to know. And I really don't want to talk about it, so let's just get this over with.

Thorne: This? What does that mean? Annulment papers? No, Macy. I won't sign these.

Stephanie: What in the hell are you talking about?

Sally: It's pretty simple, pretty straightforward, easy to understand. Thorne had sex with another woman, and now she is pregnant with his child.

Stephanie: He wouldn't do that.

Sally: Wouldn't he? Does the name Brooke Logan still matter around here? Actually, Thorne has practically made a career out of betraying my daughter.

Stephanie: Sally, he's in love with your daughter. He just got her back. Why would he sleep around on her?

Sally: Gee, I don't know. Maybe because he's a lying, despicable slime, that's why.

Stephanie: Sally, this doesn't make any sense.

Sally: Neither did sleeping with Macy's best friend. But that's exactly what Thorne did.

Stephanie: Her best friend? You're not talking about Darla?

Sally: Give the lady a big, fat cigar, she got it on one guess. Yes, Darla. So that puts a finish to this marriage. It's over and done with now, Stephanie. Macy will never take him back. Never again!

Macy: All I need from you is a signature.

Thorne: Well, you're not going to get it. Macy, you haven't had time to digest --

Macy: Time is not going to make this any easier.

Thorne: Well then, if it's that hard, than maybe we shouldn't be doing this. You love me, Macy. I know you --

Macy: Stop it! Just stop it, okay?! I'm not the one who gave up on us. You were when you slept -- I don't want to rehash this anymore, okay? If you care about me at all, just let me go. Please -- just -- just let me go.

[Horn honking]

Deacon: Come on, Amber, where are you? You and Little D outta be here by now.

Rick: So these papers clearly indicate --

Jonathan: That Deacon Sharpe has no rights where your son is concerned, yes.

Rick: Did you bring the papers?

Jonathan: They're right here, if you care to see them.

Rick: No, I'll take your word for it.

Jonathan: Sharpe relinquished all parental rights. You have no legal obligation to grant visitation.

Rick: Good. And you'll make sure that message is delivered loud and clear.

Jonathan: Leave it to me.

Amber: I don't know. I don't -- I don't know.

Jonathan: Amber, what is it?

Amber: If Deacon thinks that we double-crossed him, this could completely backfire on us. I don't know what he might do.

Stephanie: Thorne got Darla pregnant?

Sally: Right. But hey, not to worry. I mean, you may have lost a daughter-in-law, but Thorne has seen to it that the Forrester name will continue. And as a matter of fact, you will have at least one grandchild with Forrester blood running through its veins.

Stephanie: How do you know that this is true?

Sally: Because both Darla and Thorne admitted it was true.

Stephanie: Oh. I can see why you're angry.

Sally: You're darn right I'm angry. I am absolutely furious about the way my daughter has been treated. I know she's going to be better off without him. But right now, her heart is broken. So I think it's time for me to say good riddance to bad rubbish, you know? Just walk away. And as a matter of fact, I think the less my family has to do with your family, the better, all right? You know, it took me forever to come to this point. For years and years, I was worshiping at the Forrester throne. I thought you were the most wonderful people in the world. I wanted everything you had. Hell, I wanted to be you. I was green with envy. But now I realize, finally, that there's nothing to envy. Eric -- he's taken a powder. And Ridge and Bridget -- well, the less said about them the better, huh? You gotta face it, highness, it's finished. Your entire family is falling apart all around you.

Thorne: I can't. Macy, this is not the answer.

Macy: Yeah, I know what you think the answer is -- adopting Darla's baby.

Thorne: Okay, well, maybe not. But there's got to be a way where both of us don't end up miserable. Macy, you don't want this anymore than I do.

Macy: No. All I ever wanted was you.

Thorne: You've got me. You've got me, Macy. It was one night. It was one stupid mistake, one big misunderstanding. But for God's sake, don't let that be the reason that neither of us ever end up happy again. Macy, please -- please, just give me one more chance.

[Knock at door]

Deacon: Hey.

Jonathan: Mr. Sharpe. Jonathan --

Deacon: Yeah, I know who you are. What the hell are you doing here?

Jonathan: Charming as ever.

Deacon: Look, I don't have a lot of time. I don't got time for games. You gotta get out of here, man.

Jonathan: Then I'll get right to the point. There are some things the Forresters want me to go over with you.

Deacon: What is this crap? Come on, I want to see my kid, and I gotta jump through hoops? All right. All right. Lay it on me. What is this, like a set of rules or something? You know, no snacks between meals, no jumping on the bed, the sort of -- you tell me right now, where's my son?

Jonathan: He's not here. And he's not yours.

[Amber sighs]

Amber: You know, Deacon may act like a tough guy, but he's really not all that bad.

Rick: He's bad for Eric and Hope.

Amber: People change. I did.

Rick: Look, this is nothing more than a phase for Deacon. Sooner or later, he's gonna get bored, and he's gonna walk away.

Amber: And what if you're wrong?

Rick: I'm willing to take that chance.

Jonathan: I trust you're familiar with that document.

Deacon: Yeah, I know what it is. It's this piece of crap you blackmailed me into signing a couple of years ago.

Jonathan: Call it what you will. I'm here on behalf of the parents of the minor children Eric Forrester III and Hope Logan.

Deacon: Oh, you know about Hope?

Jonathan: I've been fully apprised of the situation. It is my duty to inform you that there will be no visitation.

Deacon: Yeah, but Amber said that --

Jonathan: She changed her mind. She has the right to do that. You signed your parental rights over to her.

Deacon: What about Hope? It occurs to me, I didn't sign anything there.

Jonathan: But you've never been a part of her life.

Deacon: That's because Brooke wouldn't let me! Hell, I thought I was helping her out! And now she's -- she's gonna use this against me?!

Jonathan: Her concern is for the children.

Deacon: So is mine!

Jonathan: Yes. Well, your living conditions are somewhat --

Deacon: Hey, hey, whoa. Look, I might not be Daddy Warbucks, but that does not mean I have nothing to offer these kids. And if you think I'm gonna stand here and I'm going to take this, you don't know me too well!

Jonathan: You intend to fight it?

Deacon: Hell, yes! I can get a lawyer.

Jonathan: You certainly can. You can drag the whole family into court, make those children the center of a brutal tug-of-war, and it won't change a thing. Look, Deacon, you've got a drinking problem. Your living conditions are unstable. Your employment history's --

Deacon: Wait a second. Wait, wait, wait. I've got a career now.

Jonathan: You have one client, who happens to be the sister of the woman you're threatening to sue. Look, your children are happy, they're healthy, they're getting the best of care.

Deacon: They need me, man. I'm their father.

Jonathan: If you want my advice, Deacon, walk away. Just walk away.

Stephanie: Sally, you don't what you're talking about.

Sally: Oh, sure. And your life is nothing but a bed of roses, huh?

Stephanie: Not that -- not that this is any of your business, but Eric and I are going to work things out.

Sally: You just keep telling yourself that, highness.

Stephanie: I can understand you being bitter about this whole thing. But I just hope -- I hope Macy can forgive Thorne.

Sally: Right.

[Door slams]

Macy: What about your child? You're in love with him already. Don't tell me that you're not. He's going to become a huge part of your life. And so will Darla.

Thorne: Macy, that doesn't mean we --

Macy: The hell it doesn't! You're gonna share something that we never can.

Thorne: But I don't love her.

Macy: That's too bad. No, I mean it. I wish you could. Because loving me will do you no good. It never did either one of us any good.

Thorne: Macy, don't. Don't say that.

Macy: It's true, Thorne. Seeing you with her and your baby -- I know what that's gonna do to me. I know what I'm gonna become -- bitter and suspicious and resentful. I don't want to become that person. I don't want to live like that. As much as I love you -- just -- just sign it. Please, for God's sake, just sign it.

Thorne: Macy -- couldn't we just --

Macy: No. No.

Thorne: I love you. I always have. I always will.

[Macy sobbing]
