Darla: Mace, I have to be honest with you about something. Honey, I know that this is the last thing in the world you need right now. But -- Macy, I just can't hold this in anymore.

Macy: Well, what? What is it?

Darla: Oh, God. This is so hard for me to say.

Macy: Darla, come on. You're my best friend. I mean, if you have something to tell me, I want to hear it.

Darla: This is about -- this is about me and Thorne. I -- we're -- we are so concerned about you, Macy. I know you don't want anyone to worry about you, but God, you don't have to put on such a brave face for us.

Macy: You're worried about me because of my history. And problems that I had before.

Darla: No. No, it's --

Macy: It's all right. I don't blame you. I -- I've been thinking a lot about it myself.

Darla: You have?

Macy: Yeah. Yeah, disappointment is dangerous for me. It could lead to depression. It could lead to insecurity. And I have to admit, that the way I've been feeling since the operation, I know that it wouldn't take much to send me down that road again.

Darla: Oh.

[Knock on door]

Brooke: Bridget? Honey?

C.J.: She's not here.

Brooke: Oh, C.J.

Brooke: I was looking for Bridget. The door was open.

C.J.: Yeah, well, she left in a hurry.

Brooke: Do you know where she went?

C.J.: No, I don't.

Brooke: C.J., this is very important. It has to do with a family situation--

C.J.: I know all about your "situation," okay, Brooke?

Bridget: Dad knows you're not his son.

Ridge: How did you find out?

Bridget: Stephanie.

Ridge: Did she tell you what I did?

Bridget: No.

Ridge: Dad came to the house.

Bridget: You've seen him?

Ridge: Yeah. He was upset with mother. But he wasn't devastated -- at least not until Massimo showed up.

Bridget: Oh, God. Did they argue?

Ridge: Yeah, but it wasn't Massimo that put him over the edge. It was me. I just wanted Massimo out of the house so dad and I could continue talking. We had a lot to talk about. Oh, man.

Bridget: What? What happened?

Ridge: I called Massimo "father."

Bridget: In front of dad?

Ridge: You should have seen his face.

Bridget: Oh, God.

Ridge: He was crushed. I tried to stop him as he ran out the front door. I wanted to explain. But -- oh, poor dad. I think he came up here, because I found this album open to these pages.

Eric: He's not my son. He's Massimo Marone's son. His father is Massimo. [Echoing] No!

Darla: Oh, Mace, I know how upset you must be about the hysterectomy.

Macy: It's the end of a dream.

Darla: Sweetie, if you're feeling a little depressed, maybe you should talk with somebody.

Macy: I need to talk to you. Darla, you're my best friend. You know more than just about anybody how much I wanted children. And now I can't.

Darla: But it's not your fault. You know that. You know -- things -- things just happen.

Macy: I know. Life is unpredictable. And you can't take anything for granted. All the hopes you have for your future, all the plans that you make in your head, they don't mean anything unless you do them. Because if you keep putting them off until someday, that day might not ever happen. And even if it does, it might be too late.

Darla: Oh, honey, it's not too late. You might not be able to have children, but you can still be happy. You know? You have your health and your family and your friends -- and a wonderful husband who loves you.

Macy: I'm very lucky, I know that. I guess what I'm trying to tell you is don't wait. I don't want you to go through this. I don't want you to wake up one day and realize that you missed out, that you missed your chance -- on love, on children, on a family.

Darla: Oh God.

Macy: Darla, I know it probably doesn't seem important to you right now. You probably feel like you have all the time in the world. And maybe you do. God, I hope so. I hope you do. But just in case, I -- I don't want you to miss out like me. Because having a baby is the most precious miracle. Darla? What is it?

Darla: It's nothing, I'm sorry --

Macy: Was it something I said?

Darla: Oh, no, honey, no. It's not you. It's me. It's me. Macy, you are my very best friend in the whole world. I love you more than anything. But honey, there's something that I've been keeping from you. Macy, I'm pregnant.

C.J.: Yeah. That's right. I know that Bridget has feelings for Ridge.

Brooke: You have to understand, she's just very confused right now.

C.J.: Well, maybe she wouldn't be if you would just leave them alone.

Brooke: Who? Ridge and Bridget?

C.J.: Yes, Brooke. It's obvious that you don't want to be with him. Why shouldn't they be together.

Brooke: She's his sister!

C.J.: Ah, but she's not.

Brooke: You're not going to actually condone this, are you?

C.J.: It's what she wants, Brooke. But of course, she would never tell you that, would she? God forbid, she put her own needs in front of yours.

Brooke: C.J., It's definitely not what she needs!

C.J.: How is she gonna know that if she never has the chance to figure it out?

Ridge: Dad's car is in the garage. He's around here somewhere.

Bridget: Thank God, we found him. You know, I never should have told you this. I should have just kept my feelings to myself.

Ridge: Bridget, you don't have to worry about that. Because dad doesn't know about it.

Bridget: That's the reason he's going through this.

Ridge: No, it's not.

Bridget: Well, then why do you think this is happening?

Ridge: Look maybe we were a little naive to think we could keep it a secret. But, you know, the truth was gonna come out eventually anyway.

Bridget: No, Ridge, it wasn't. Not until my mother ran out on your wedding.

Ridge: You gotta stop doing this to yourself.

Bridget: She heard us talking, Ridge! She heard us talking about our feelings and about that kiss!

Ridge: Look, you can't just draw a line from that conversation to this! This is between me and my parents.

Bridget: He's my dad, too. And we agreed we were gonna protect him from this. We made a pact.

Ridge: And we kept it, Bridget. We kept it.

Bridget: Then why aren't you married to my mother right now? Huh? And why is my father missing?

Ridge: Because Brooke and my mother made their own choices, that's why.

Bridget: And so did I -- the day I admitted how I felt about you. And I made the wrong choice.

Brooke: Bridget is not in love with Ridge.

C.J.: Look, I didn't want to believe it either, Brooke, but I assure you, Bridget is dealing with something very real here.

Brooke: C.J., I know how she's struggling with this, and I know how upset she is.

C.J.: She's upset because she hasn't been able to express her feelings. This situation is tearing her apart.

Brooke: And when did this happen? When did this confusion really begin? When Massimo told Bridget that Ridge isn't her brother, he put this idea into her head. It's just a master manipulator putting the destructive seed into a young, impressionable girl's mind. It's not really her feelings. It's all a delusion. Now, Massimo would do anything to destroy my relationship with Ridge. But I'm not going to let him. I am not going to step aside. And I am not going to listen to one more word about Ridge and Bridget.

Ridge: Bridget, this family is being torn apart by secrets, not by you or anything you did.

Bridget: Ridge, one of those secrets was mine. And I should have kept it.

Ridge: Well, it's a little late for that. Right now, we've gotta find dad. And then we'll just take it one crisis at a time.

Bridget: You keep saying "we." I thought we were gonna keep our distance from each other. I mean, isn't that what you want?

Macy: You're pregnant. You're going to have a baby?

Darla: God. Maybe I shouldn't have told you.

Macy: No. No, I'm just -- I'm just -- I'm surprised. I didn't even know you were seeing anybody.

Darla: I'm not. It was an accident. I just got drunk, and he was drunk and -- I should have gone home that night. And I was just too loaded to drive and one thing just led to another --

Macy: He didn't take advantage of you?

Darla: Oh, no. No, no. It was nothing like that. Just one of those one-night stand things.

Macy: That's not like you.

Darla: I know. The crazy part to all this is that I actually thought this may be the one.

Macy: This guy that you -- you just met?

Darla: No, no -- we've been friends for a while.

Macy: But you're not anymore?

Darla: It's complicated. It's complicated.

Macy: Does he -- does he know about the baby?

Darla: Well, I told him I was going to get an abortion.

Macy: Darla, no --

Darla: I didn't, Macy. I couldn't go through with it. And I'll tell you something -- I am not kidding myself when I say that there is no chance for us. This guy doesn't want to raise this baby with me.

Macy: Still, I'm glad you didn't give it up, Darla. That would have been a terrible, terrible waste.

Darla: Oh God, honey, I'm so sorry.

Macy: Why?

Darla: Oh, you feel so bad right now anyway, and to have to hear this.

Macy: No, no. This -- this is wonderful news. This is. Oh, Darla. You're gonna be a great mom. And if this is what you want -- I'm happy for you. I'm happy for you.

Darla: Oh, God. You're happy for me?

Macy: Of course I am. You're gonna have a baby. You're gonna have a beautiful, beautiful baby. It's just kind of ironic, you know. I tried for so long. I tried so hard, you know. I wanted a child so badly. But it just wasn't possible. It was just -- it was just so easy for you.

Darla: Oh, God, Macy. I'm sorry. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. I'm sorry.

Macy: No, no. I'm glad you told me. I'm glad I know.

Darla: I don't want to hurt you.

Macy: Oh, no.

Darla: That's the last thing I want to do. You've been through so much.

Macy: Darla -- Darla, you're my friend. And Thorne and I are not gonna let you go through this alone. We're always gonna be there for you and your baby. Always.

Ridge: Bridget, I know you're worried about him. I am, too. But I'm not going to let you run away from all this.

Bridget: There's nothing to run away from. Not anymore.

Ridge: Then there's nothing to feel guilty about, either.

Bridget: I want to believe that. And I did. Up until the moment mom ran out of your wedding. Ridge, we hurt her so much. I mean, I almost wish -- except I'll never forget how that kiss made me feel. When I moved into your house, I just wanted to help you.

Ridge: You did. You did. You really did.

Bridget: I wanted to simplify your life, Ridge. And I will. I will. I don't know what I have to do, but I will make this right.

Ridge: But there's nothing wrong. That's the thing. You know, the way you felt --

Bridget: We can't think about that. We have to focus on the family.

Ridge: And that's what we're doing. That's what we've been doing since the beginning. Protecting the family.

Bridget: When dad comes back, we have to help him deal with this.

Ridge: We will. We will.

Bridget: I don't know how I'd get through this without you.
