Bridget: Your maid of honor? I'm sorry, mom. I know this is important to you, but -- i can't stand by your side and watch you marry ridge.

Brooke: Why not?

Ridge: Brooke, I'm -- i'm sure bridget has her reasons.

Brooke: Well, i'd like to hear them. I don't understand. I thought you supported our relationship. You talked to the kids. You're the reason they proposed.

Bridget: I didn't know they were gonna do that.

Brooke: And aren't you happy about it?

Bridget: My feelings aren't the issue here. You and ridge are happy. That's what matters.

Brooke: Honey, I want you to be a part of this.

Bridget: Mom, i can't. Look, I'm not doing this to hurt you or to make some big statement. I just can't do it. After everything that's happened to me this year, with everything i've been through --

brooke: Honey, I'm sorry. It's a lot to ask for. After what happened with deacon, there was a lot of tension between you and me.

Bridget: This doesn't have anything to do with you. It's me.

Ridge: Look, bridget, nobody wants you to do anything you're not comfortable with, all right?

Bridget: I'm just glad the kids have accepted the engagement. It's really good. You guys are all ready to move on with your lives.

Brooke: And you're not?

Bridget: I don't want you to take it personally. Please, mom.

Brooke: Honey, how could i not take this personally? My daughter doesn't want to be my maid of honor.

Bridget: I wish i could. I really do. But --

brooke: But what? What is it?

Bridget: That's the way it has to be. I'm sorry, mom. I really want this to work out for you. I do. But I -- i can't stand up for you. I'm sorry.

Brooke: Honey, bridget, wait. Wait, let's just talk about this.

Ridge: Let her go. She'll be all right. Just let her go.

Deacon: Okay. Okay. Okay.

Amber: I can't do it, deacon.

Deacon: What are you talking about?

Amber: I think I might be sick.

Deacon: No. No, no. No, no. You're just pumped up. It's -- it's adrenaline.

Amber: No. No, no. This is panic. They are expecting to see april.

Deacon: You -- you are great. You're a performer. You're april, remember? You've done this. You've done this a ton of times.

Amber: I need to get out of here.

Deacon: No, no, no, no. The only place that you're going is out on the stage.

Rick: I'd apologize for interrupting, but I -- i'm afraid that would make me look like a bigger dork than you already think I am.

April: Yeah. That was him. I gotta go. I'm -- i'm really sorry about that, rick.

Rick: Don't worry about it. I've been called worˇe.

April: Man, i feel like such a jerk. You're my brother-in-law and that was totally not cool of me.

Rick: April -- my mother made me the vice president of her company before I even got out of college. I kicked my big brother out of the family business, and I married the one woman that my family didn't approve of. To be perfectly honest with you, I don't really care what people think about me.

April: Oh, really? Yeah, right. You're just some heartless corporate big shot, right?

Rick: No. I just don't expect everybody to like me, that's all.

April: Then why are you being so nice to me? Oh.

Rick: What?

April: It's the old twin thing, right? Well, you can just keep dreaming, poindexter, 'cause you are so not my type.

Bridget: Are they gone?

Massimo: Hello, bridget.

Bridget: All right, look, I know you're upset, and you're gonna ask me to help you out, but there's nothing I can do about it.

Massimo: About what?

Bridget: You don't know?

Massimo: Hmm-mm.

Bridget: Ridge and my mother are engaged.

rick: You think i'm hitting on you?

April: You're not exactly being subtle about it.

Rick: I brought you tea.

April: Yeah.

Rick: I was being polite.

April: I think you should forget about me and remember you got a wife.

Rick: So I'm not your type?

April: Sorry to burst your bubble.

Rick: Well, actually, that comes as quite a relief, because you're not my type.

April: Right. I'm the spittin' image of your wife, and I just don't do it for ya.

[April sneezes]

rick: Call me crazy.

April: Look, rick, I'm sorry if i burst your bubble, you know? Bruised your ego. 'Cause i'm sure there are plenty of girls out there that like that squeaky-clean, gentleman type, but it doesn't really rev my engines. You know what I mean?

Rick: Yeah, i think i got it.

April: Good. So if you weren't hittin' on me, then why didn't you go to the club?

Rick: Eric has a play date. That's why.

April: I know you're not thrilled about amber singin' for me. So why'd you let her?

Rick: One thing that you're gonna learn about your sister is that nobody makes her do anything that she doesn't want to do.

Deacon: Your sister signed a contract with these people. She's put her reputation on the line. If you don't go out there, you're gonna blow it. So -- I want you to just go out there, go right out there right now and do this. Now.

Massimo: Ridge proposed to brooke?

Bridget: No. Thomas did.

Massimo: Thomas?

Bridget: He and the girls are ready to accept my mother into their family.

Massimo: They want him to marry her?

Bridget: It's gonna happen, massimo. There's nothing anybody can do to stop them.

Massimo: Mm-hmm. Look, what about you, huh? What about ridge? I might as well tell you, he told me about the kiss.

Bridget: And you turned right around and told stephanie, didn't you? Why did you do that? What, did you think she was gonna help you? Is she suddenly gonna realize i'm the great love of her son's life? Forget what it would do to my dad, right? Never mind what it would do to their marriage. Plus, did you -- did you honestly think that kiss would change anything?

Massimo: I know that he has feelings for you.

Bridget: Ridge is engaged to my mother. They're gonna get married, whether you like it or not.

Massimo: Mm-hmm. Did you give them your blessing? Right. Look at you. You can't even stand the thought of it.

Bridget: It's not what you think.

Massimo: This is not what you want, right? You don't want it for yourself, you don't want it for ridge, you certainly don't want it for those poor children.

Bridget: He loves her. They're happy together.

Massimo: Cut the crap. You don't believe that any more than i do.

Bridget: Well, that's their decision, isn't it?

Massimo: It's the wrong decision, and you know it. My god. After all you have done, all the sacrifices you've made for those children, your father's precious, little ego has to be protected instead of their future?

Bridget: Stop it. You stop it. I am not involved in this anymore. Do you hear me? I am done. I will not interfere with my mother's wedding, and I won't tell anyone ridge is your son.

Massimo: I'm sorry, bridget. But somebody has to do it. Somebody has to stop that wedding.

Ridge: Did dad say what it was about?

Brooke: He just said it was important. Maybe he knows what's going on with bridget.

Ridge: Well, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

All: Hey, surprise!

Eric: There we are. See this?

brooke: What is going on here?

Megan: What does it look like?

Kristen: We're having a party.

Ridge: Did you plan this? You planned this, didn't you?

Brooke: No, i didn'T.

Eric: I did. I know everybody is very busy, but I just thought we should take some time out to congratulate the two of you on your engagement. Here you are.

Ridge: Well, thank you.

Eric: Congratulations.

Ridge: Thank you. I guess it's true what they say about good news.

Megan: That's right. Telephone, tell a friend, tell a forrester.

Kristen: You can't keep a secret in this family.

Eric: You've got to stop trying.

Kristen: Exactly.

Josh: Congratulations.

Brooke: Thank you, josh.

Thorne: Well, i know how much this means to both of you, so i wish you all the best.

Ridge: Thank you, little brother.

Thorne: You got it.

Kristen: Oh, and I heard about the kids proposing. You must have been blown away.

Brooke: I don't think i've ever been quite so moved.

Ridge: Yeah, well, I mean, the kids did it much better than i ever could have, so --

brooke: And that is where thomas gets his eloquence.

Eric: He is a charmer.

Josh: You're right.

[Murmuring]

ridge: Let me guess. Dad told you there was a meeting going on in here?

Stephanie: Something like that.

Ridge: Something like that, yeah. Well, whatever it took, I'm glad you're here.

Eric: Well, if nobody objects, i would like to -- I would like to make a toast.

Stephanie: You're not gonna get any congratulations from me. Go.

Eric: To ridge and to brooke. Congratulations. This day has been a long time coming. You've both been through a lot getting here today, and you've both learned a lot about each other, and most importantly, about yourselves. And about the value of patience.

Ridge: And the value of persistence.

Eric: Living proof that good things come to those who wait.

Brooke: Yep, I'll vouch for that.

[Laughter]

eric: Congratulations.

All: Cheers.

[Glasses clinking]

megan: Hey, hey, you guys, get a room, all right?

Kristen: Yeah, maybe we should leave or something, huh?

Amber: Deacon, no. Just wait.

Deacon: This is your chance. Show the world what you can do.

Amber: I'm not the one they want.

Deacon: Don't you get it? If you're twins, i mean, if she's meant for the spotlight, so are you. Go on. Get out there. Go do this.

[Clapping] oh, god, i hope this works.

[Cheers and applause]

april: So you didn't mind amber singing before?

Rick: Oh, i love amber's singing. I think she's incredibly talented. I'm just worried that this whole switcheroo might not work out.

April: This switcheroo?

Rick: Too dorky?

April: I've insulted you enough for one night.

Rick: So I'd be cooler if i got a leather jacket? Got a tattoo, maybe? Grew a goatee?

April: Excuse me, but i don't think you could grow a five o'clock shadow.

Rick: So you like your guys scruffy. Like deacon?

April: Deacon is my agent, not my boyfriend.

Rick: You don't mix business with pleasure?

April: Business and pleasure. That's my favorite cocktail. I just don't like to be tied down.

Rick: Well, then, you and deacon should get along just fine.

April: You really don't like him, do you?

Rick: I think he's scum.

April: So why'd you let amber go to the club with him?

Rick: Well, let's just -- let's just get something straight here. I don't let amber do anything. She makes her own decisions.

April: That doesn't mean you have to like 'em.

Rick: I mean, don't get me wrong. I have absolutely no doubt in amber's talents and abilities. I would just hate to see this not work out. For both of you.

April: You're worried about me?

Rick: How poindexter of me.

[Door closes]

brooke: Huh. I should have known you'd be making an appearance. You must have heard about my engagement. You could have saved yourself a trip, because I have absolutely nothing to say to you.

Massimo: Good. That way, you won't interrupt me while I tell you what I've come to say.

April: You know what, forrester?

Rick: What?

April: You keep this up, you might make squeaky-clean seem kind of cool.

Rick: Is that a compliment?

April: It's an apology. You didn't deserve to be dogged like that.

Rick: Well, don't worry about it. Just -- next time you talk to your friend, say something nice about me.

April: No problem.

[Phone rings]

rick: Excuse me. Forrester residence.

[Crowd chanting "april"]

amber: Rick! Hey! It's me!

Rick: Amber. It's amber.

Amber: Rick, can you hear me?

Rick: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can, but listen, you're gonna have to speak up. What's all that noise?

[Cheers and applause]

amber: That's the crowd! They're going nuts! They're cheering! I mean, can you believe it? They're cheering for me.

April: How'd it go?

Rick: The crowd, they're making all kinds of noise.

April: Are they throwing things?

Rick: They're cheering.

Amber: Did you hear that, rick?

Rick: Yeah, you know what, honey? I did. I did, and i'm so proud of you, okay? Look, I'm gonna give the phone to april.

Amber: It worked. It worked. The crowd, i blew them away. They're still waiting for an encore.

April: So no one knew that you weren't me?

Amber: No. No. Oh, it was so great. Listen, I'm sorry you got sick, but -- but that was -- i just had the most amazing time.

April: So did i.

Eric: So are you heading out?

Ridge: In a minute. I wanted to thank you for the party.

Eric: Hey. You're welcome. You're welcome. It's so nice to see the two of you happy again. It's been a long time. It's gonna be very good for this whole family.

Ridge: I agree. I think so, too.

Eric: Good. You deserve this, my boy. You really do. And god knows brooke does, too. She's fought a lot of battles to get to this point. Thank god that's all behind her now.

Brooke: Let me guess. You're here to tell me the wedding won't happen.

Massimo: It won't.

Brooke: The children are in full support of this marriage.

Massimo: I am not here about the children, brooke. I am here about ridge.

Brooke: Well, if you have a problem with ridge's decision, you should take it up with him.

Massimo: Mm-mm. You've got the problem. The big one. You see, there are things that you don't know about, brooke. Things that ridge doesn't want you to know.

Brooke: Oh, so now you think ridge is keeping secrets from me.

Massimo: Oh, there are a few things i could tell you that would rock your little world.

Brooke: You know, massimo, there's not a thing that i don't know about ridge. We're not keeping secrets from each other. We're being completely honest with each other.

Massimo: Not completely.

Brooke: You're wrong.

Massimo: You're gonna wish i were. But I'm not. I'm going to start by telling you that ridge forrester is not the man that you think he is.

Brooke: Oh, god, this is ridiculous. Just get out. Get out of my office.

Massimo: As a matter of fact, ridge forrester is not a forrester at all.

Brooke: That's crazy.

Massimo: Crazy? He's a marone, brooke. He's my son. Ridge is my son.
