Massimo: There are only three rings like this in the world, and I know where every one of them is.

Dominick: I'm telling you, it's exactly the same. The anchor -- the insignia -- it's identical.

***************************************

Clarke: I'm the first one here?

Darla: Sally and Ridge will be here as soon as Massimo gets in.

Clarke: Then we have a few minutes to talk?

Darla: Clarke, we have absolutely nothing to talk about.

Clarke: Now, Darla, I can tell you're still upset.

Darla: No, no, no, no, no. I don't feel well. Clarke, I think I'm coming down with something.

Clarke: Come on. You don't have to put a brave face on for me.

Darla: You think I'm being brave? Clarke, I slept with my best friend's husband. Actually led myself to believe that he could have feelings for me. [Darla laughs] But he didn't. It was all just a big mistake. Now Thorne and Macy are back together, and -- I feel like the biggest idiot, Clarke.

Clarke: Oh, Darla. Stop it, okay? You're not an idiot.

Darla: God, I was finally happy. Clarke, I was happy for myself. The night that I spent with Thorne, I actually thought we connected. I mean, in a way that I've never connected with anybody. And that's why I feel like such an idiot. Because the worst thing that I've ever done felt like the best thing that ever happened to me.

***************************************

Thorne: Ho, ho, ho. Where are you going? Get back here.

Macy: What?

Thorne: What?

Macy: What?

Thorne: I love you.

Macy: I love you, too. You've made me so happy.

Thorne: Yeah? And to think it's only going to get better.

Macy: Mm -- is that a prediction?

Thorne: Nope, that's a guarantee. I mean it, Mace. This is only the beginning. We have so much to look forward to. Like, lets see -- renewing our vows.

Macy: Mm-hmm.

Thorne: And starting a family.

Macy: You want that, too?

Thorne: A family? Of course I do. In fact, I think we should start right now.

***************************************

Massimo: Where is this ring of yours? I'd be interested in seeing it.

Dominick: They took it off in the hospital.

Massimo: Ah, so you lost it?

Dominick: No, well, I hope not.

Massimo: It's important to you, huh?

Dominick: It was a gift from my mother.

Massimo: Ah, so it's a family heirloom?

Dominick: No, she -- she bought it from a pawn shop when I was a boy.

Massimo: A pawn shop. Well, I can reassure you then that ring has no relationship to this one. You see, Captain, this is a very rare and significant piece.

Dominick: And you say there's only three?

Massimo: That's right. As I told you before, and I know where every one of them is.

Dominick: Well, I wish I could say the same about mine.

Massimo: Well, did you check with the staff at the hospital?

Dominick: No, they gave my things to my mother. I'd like to call her, may I?

Massimo: Of course. You can use my s -- uh, right-hand man's office.

Dominick: Ridge Forrester? Is he here today?

Massimo: Not today.

Dominick: Well, that's too bad. I'd like to meet your right-hand man.

Massimo: Here you go, Captain. I have a meeting across town. So if you need anything, please let my secretary know.

Dominick: I will, thank you.

[Phone rings]

Jackie: Hello?

Dominick: Mom, it's me.

Jackie: Dominick, where are you?

Dominick: I'm in L.A. I just met with Marone.

Jackie: Oh, honey, no.

Dominick: It's all right. He's tough, but he's fair.

Jackie: Mm-hmm. Well, I hope he apologized to you about his behavior at the hospital.

Dominick: That's why I'm calling. When I was in the hospital, they gave you my things, didn't they?

Jackie: Yes.

Dominick: So you have my ring?

Jackie: Yes. It's right here. Dominick: Good. I was telling Marone that I thought I'd lost it.

Jackie: You talked to him about your ring?

Dominick: It's the strangest thing. He said he had one just like it.

Jackie: You saw it?

Dominick: He said there are only three like it in the world. Why would he say that?

Jackie: I don't know.

Dominick: When you bought the ring at the pawn shop, the guy you buy it from say anything about the ring?

Jackie: Dominick, that was such a long time ago. I don't remember. Can we please discuss this when you get home?

Dominick: You did buy the ring at the pawn shop?

Jackie: I said I can't talk about it right now. Please, honey, will you just come home? You need to rest.

Dominick: Soon. Mr. Marone and I have a few issues we still need to address.

***************************************

Macy: Thorne -- I want to talk to you about something.

Thorne: Okay?

Macy: I have a doctor's appointment today.

Thorne: Is something wrong?

Macy: No. No, I don't think so. I just want to be sure.

Thorne: Of what?

Macy: It's no big deal, okay? It's just a routine test. It's just that -- well, I was hoping you'd want to start a family, too, so I thought it would be a good idea to -- get checked out and make sure it was possible.

Thorne: Well, why wouldn't it be?

Macy: Well -- my recovery, you know, after the accident was -- it was tough. And it took a long time, and there were some complications. Dr. Sanders doesn't think there's anything we need to worry about, though.

Thorne: You've already seen her?

Macy: Yeah. Yeah, a couple of times for some initial lab tests. She wants me to do this -- this HSG thing. It's an x-ray. But once that checks out, she'll give us the official go-ahead.

Thorne: And I'm sure she will. Okay? And I'll be right there with you.

Macy: You're gonna go to the appointment with me?

Thorne: Honey, there's no place I'd rather be.

***************************************

Brooke: Oh. Thank God you're here. You won't believe what your mother just did to me. You know, I told you that she wasn't gonna get to me anymore, but this time I think she took it way too far. Your mother is completely out of control, Ridge. I was there, and I was trying to extend an olive branch. And there she goes -- she comes right up behind me and dumps a big bottle of champagne all over my head. And she got me soaked! Soaked to the skin. And now I'm running around in my lingerie waiting for my dress to dry and -- aah! You're not Ridge.

Dominick: No. But I sure wish I was.

***************************************

Darla: Darn!

Clarke: Darla -- Darla, why don't you just go home?

Darla: And do what? Sit around feeling sorry for myself? No, thank you.

Clarke: Come on. You said you're not feeling well.

Sally: All right. Heads up, everybody. Let's cut right to the snapper and get this meeting started. We have got a mystery on our hands. And nobody is leaving this room until we solve it.

Massimo: Sally, Ridge and I are in the middle of a very difficult situation here.

Sally: Well, I'm sorry about that, Massimo. But you see, I am in a difficult situation here, too. I've got a mystery that has to be solved, so will you please all put your thinking caps on? And, Darla, I want you to start taking notes immediately.

Clarke: I don't think Darla's feeling that well.

Sally: Well, I can understand that, because I'm not feeling particularly well myself either. As a matter of fact, I am feeling absolutely stupefied by what is going on here. We had an incredible success in Portofino. It was brilliant. And by all rights, by this time, this place should be jumping with activity. Quicker than you can say, "bon giorno," orders should be coming in, and they should be filled. Instead, what have we got here? I have got a factory full of skilled labor busy contemplating their navels. And why is that? Ridge -- can I ask you that question? Why is our brilliant head designer from that collection not coming through with his part of the bargain?

Massimo: Sally, I am sorry for your production delays, all right? But unless you think that this collection can cover the millions of dollars that Marone Industries has lost, I don't want to hear about it. Ridge stays with me.

Darla: Oh, God.

Sally: Darla, what's the matter? Are you sick?

Darla: Sally, may I be excused?

Sally: Well, of course, honey. You want to go home? I'll get somebody to drive you?

Darla: I'll be fine, thank you. I'll see you tomorrow.

Ridge: Darla, I'll help you out here. Come on.

Clarke: I told you she wasn't feeling well.

Sally: Yeah.

Clarke: Are -- are we done?

Massimo: Yes.

Sally: No, we are not done, not by a long shot.

Clarke: I tell you what. I'll let you two kids work this out on your own.

Massimo: Fine. Sally, I have got to go. I have a life and death situation on my hands here.

Sally: Which I am sure you are handling with your usual finesse, Massimo. And I'm sure it is a lot easier than handling Brooke Logan. I understand she and Ridge are back together again.

Massimo: Please, please, do not remind me. Oh, God, it's unbelievable. I don't understand it. How can such an intelligent, sensitive, moral man not realize that there is a better woman for him?

Sally: Well, you know, Massimo, there is more than one way to skin a cat. Hmm? So, it's very simple. If you cannot find another woman for Ridge, why don't you find another man for Brooke?

***************************************

Brooke: Are you waiting for Ridge?

Dominick: Are you expecting him?

Brooke: You know this is his office.

Dominick: Yes, I've been told.

Brooke: So are you doing business with him or something?

Dominick: Well, I would ask you the same question, but I get the distinct impression this is more of a social call, correct?

Brooke: I'm sorry, what was your name?

Dominick: I'll make you a deal. You tell me your name -- I'll tell you mine.

Brooke: Brooke Logan.

Dominick: How you doing, Brooke? Nick -- Captain Nick Payne.

Brooke: Oh. Oh, my God. Nick Payne, the captain that was on the ship when it went down in Mexico. My daughter told me everything that happened, and I'm sorry for your loss.

Dominick: Your daughter?

Brooke: Bridget. She flew with you to L.A.

Dominick: It's impossible. You're Bridget's mother?

Brooke: Yes.

Dominick: You're much too young, aren't you?

Brooke: Bridget also told me that you're a very charming man.

Dominick: Huh? Well, I like that. She's as perceptive as her mother is beautiful.

***************************************

Dr. Sanders: Hello, Macy.

Macy: Dr. Sanders, hi. This is my husband, Thorne.

Dr. Sanders: It's nice to meet you.

Thorne: You as well, thank you.

Dr. Sanders: Macy told you what we're going to be doing today?

Thorne: Yes, an x-ray.

Dr. Sanders: That's right. But first, we're going to inject a dye that appears white on the x-ray into her uterus. And as that flows through the fallopian tubes, it can reveal any injuries or abnormalities that might interfere with her getting pregnant.

Thorne: Like what?

Dr. Sanders: Growths, adhesions, tumors.

Macy: But you don't expect to find any of those things?

Dr. Sanders: I hope not.

Thorne: Do you think we have any reason to be concerned?

Macy: Well, I haven't had any problems since the accident.

Dr. Sanders: That's a positive sign. I need to check on another patient. But, Macy, go ahead and get changed, and we'll get started shortly.

Macy: Okay.

Thorne: Thank you.

Macy: Just think.

Thorne: Hmm?

Macy: This time next year, you could be holding your son in your arms.

[Thorne laughs]

[Macy laughs]

***************************************

[Knock at door]

Clarke: Darla? Are you all right? It's Clarke.

Darla: Clarke, please go away.

Clarke: I'm worried about you, okay? Can I come in?

Darla: Clarke, I just don't feel well, all right? I just want to take some aspirin and go to sleep.

Clarke: You're depressed. You shouldn't be alone.

Darla: Clarke, I'm not depressed. I'm just tired. [Darla sighs] I'm just really tired. I need to rest. I haven't been sleeping.

Clarke: Darla, you're upset about Thorne. You know you've got to take care of yourself.

Darla: I'm just gonna get some rest. Thank you very much for stopping by. It's very sweet of you. I'm gonna be okay, all right? Don't worry about me. I'm fine.

Clarke: Okay, okay.

Darla: Okay.

Clarke: You take care. Drink plenty of fluid. [Darla laughs] see you tomorrow.

Darla: I will. Thanks. Bye.

***************************************

Brooke: Bridget's right. You are a very charming man, Captain.

Dominick: Well, your daughter's a very special woman. You must be very proud.

Brooke: I am.

Dominick: And complimented. It's obvious where Bridget gets her good looks.

Brooke: It must be lines like that that get you a girl at every port, right? So how long you staying in town?

Dominick: Depends on what the town has to offer.

Brooke: Well, this is an amazing city. If you're not familiar with it, you really should get out and see everything. Maybe you could join me and my fiancÚ for dinner.

Dominick: FiancÚ? Oh. Makes sense. Him, huh?

Brooke: Yeah, that's Ridge.

Dominick: Lucky man.

Massimo: Captain, you're still here.

Dominick: Talking to Miss Logan.

Brooke: And I was looking for Ridge.

Massimo: He's at Spectra. Did you make your phone call?

Dominick: I did. Thank you. Heading back to Seattle now.

Brooke: Really?

Dominick: Afraid so.

Brooke: Well, the next time you're in town, you'll just have to have dinner with us.

Massimo: Well, actually, I would like to have you back here as soon as possible. I have another assignment that I would like to discuss with you.
