Ridge: Who was that?

Brooke: On the phone, Ridge. I heard what you said. You were talking about a kiss.

Ridge: Logan, there's no reason to get upset. It didn't mean anything.

Brooke: You said it caught you off guard. Have you been seeing somebody?

Ridge: No.

Brooke: Come on, you can tell me.

Ridge: There's nothing to tell, really.

Brooke: All right, well, I'm gonna tell you something. Whoever this person is and whatever you did, it really doesn't matter. Because it's not going to change my feelings for you.

Ridge: Brooke, I'm not seeing anyone.

Brooke: Ridge, I understand. You're an attractive, single man. And you work with all these beautiful women. I mean, I would be stupid to think that you weren't tempted now and then.

Ridge: I wasn't. And that's not how it was.

Brooke: Well, then, how was it? I mean, please, tell me. I just don't understand what's going on here.

C.J.: Bridget, what exactly did Ridge say?

Bridget: Nothing really. He just wanted to make sure I was okay.

C.J.: Which you are obviously not.

Bridget: C.J., I'm so confused. I mean, that kiss caught me off guard, too.

C.J.: So Ridge did admit that he felt something?

Bridget: No.

C.J.: And you're sure you did?

Bridget: I -- I wasn't gonna tell him that. But -- yeah. I mean, I'm definitely sure I did. You know what? We shouldn't be talking about this.

C.J.: Bridget, you have to talk to someone.

Bridget: C.J., I just want these feelings to go away. And Ridge thought kissing me would do it. And it just made it worse.

C.J.: That is exactly why you need to talk about this. You gotta figure out what you're gonna do. I mean, okay. You told Ridge that it worked. That you are over him. Are you going to stick with that story?

Bridget: I think I have to. Don't you?

April: Did you see all those pictures on the wall? All the famous people? My name's gonna be up there someday.

Rick: You know, maybe -- maybe we should have waited for Amber.

April: No way. I was already late.

Producer: April. Good. You're here.

April: Hey! I don't even know how to thank you.

Producer: Well, welcome to "The Craig Kilborn Show."

April: Somebody pinch me.

Producer: This is our make-up artist.

Gayle: Gayle.

April: What's up? And this is Rick Forrester.

Producer: Yeah. I know your father. Okay. Security said there were three people in your group?

Rick: Yes. My wife, Amber.

April: She's in the restroom.

Producer: Oh. All right. Well, let's get you in the chair. Like I said, we don't have much time. Just touch her up. We need her on set in ten.

April: Ten minutes?

Producer: Yeah, we'll do a quick sound check and then tape your spot. Did you bring your music?

April: Oh, um, okay. I have all the songs on this memorized.

Producer: Um, you don't have sheet music for the band?

April: There's a band?

Producer: Just get her ready. We'll take care of it. Uh, ten minutes.

April: Okay.

Rick: Wait a minute. What about my wife and I? Should we just stay in here?

Producer: You and your wife can watch from the audience. A page will take you to your seats.

Rick: Okay. Thank you.

April: This is so cool. Just don't mess with the hair, okay?

Rick: Thank you.

Amber: Hey. What's going on?

Rick: She's up in ten minutes.

Amber: Wow. That's fast.

Rick: Yeah, yeah. They're just touching her up right now.

Rick: You know, Amber, I sure hope your sister's ready for this.

April: Craig Kilborn, he is such a hottie.

Amber: I'm not sure television's ready for her.

April: And I just can't believe that I'm gonna be singing. Everyone's gonna see me on TV, you know? It's like if you were a little kid at Christmas or something, you know, when you get something you really, really want. Oh, God.

C.J.: Bridget, I can't tell you what to do.

Bridget: Ridge is in love with my mother, C.J. And they're just starting to get things back on track. I mean, even Thomas is coming around. He just asked her over for dinner. They're all together right now.

C.J.: Okay. So, you're not gonna say anything.

Bridget: What for? Obviously Ridge doesn't feel the same way about me.

C.J.: I'm sorry.

Bridget: Don't be. This is ridiculous, right? A few months ago, I thought Ridge was my brother. It's wrong. It's wrong and -- I'm not going to compete with my mother for a man. That's not who I am.

C.J.: No, no, of course it's not.

Bridget: So I just -- I have to put it out of my mind. I have to pretend I told Ridge the truth -- that the kiss didn't mean anything and that I'm over it. I care about him. It's the only thing I can do.

Ridge: Logan, nothing happened.

Brooke: You're right. You know what? It's really none of my business.

Ridge: This has nothing to do with us. I know. Because I won't let it. This kiss or this little tryst --

Ridge: It wasn't a tryst.

Brooke: Well, whatever you want to call it. I'm not worried about this woman. I'm really not jealous. I know that you were angry with me. And you weren't sure if you could ever trust me again. You were lonely, frustrated. And we weren't together. But now we are. And we're headed in the right direction. And that's all that concerns me. So, come on. Let's go down and take a jacuzzi.

Ridge: So, you don't want to talk about this at all?

Brooke: Do you?

Ridge: No. Not especially.

Brooke: Me, neither.

Ridge: You're not concerned? You don't really care?

Brooke: Ridge, I'm sure this mystery woman turned your head temporarily. But I can guarantee you, she doesn't have the Logan charm and tenacity.

Ridge: You're not worried one bit, are you?

Brooke: No. Not a bit.

[Background chatter]

Amber: Thank you.

Rick: Excuse us.

Amber: Thanks. Rick, I don't think April's ever sung in front of an audience before.

Rick: Well, this is a pretty big crowd.

Amber: I should have talked her out of it.

Rick: Amber, your sister is obviously not afraid of the spotlight.

Amber: Yeah, but most singers don't make their debut on national television. This could be the only shot she gets.

Rick: I have a feeling that April is going to make the most of it.

Brooke: Well, that was lovely. Has your mystery girl been in the jacuzzi, yet?

Ridge: I thought you weren't going to worry about her.

Brooke: I'm not. In a way, it's kind of nice.

Ridge: Kind of nice?

Brooke: Well, I'm not the one who has to feel guilty for a change.

Ridge: I told you I don't have anything to feel guilty about.

Brooke: She really got under your skin, didn't she?

Ridge: Logan -- you are the only woman on my mind tonight. Okay?

Brooke: Prove it.

Ridge: I know I've been kind of rough on you lately.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. But I don't want to talk about that, either.

Ridge: I guess I just want you to know that -- it wasn't just you and your secrets. I've gotten a lot of surprises lately.

Brooke: Well, some of them good, I hope.

Ridge: Yeah. I mean, dinner tonight. And Thomas' change in attitude. That's all great.

Brooke: No. That was amazing.

Ridge: I really enjoyed it. And I think the kids did, too, and I'd love to do it again.

Brooke: So would I.

Ridge: I just want to make sure you know -- if I seem a little distracted, it's not you. It's nothing to do with us. It's not personal. It's just me and stuff I'm going through.

Brooke: Do you want to talk about it?

Ridge: No, I can't. I can't really.

Brooke: Ridge, I meant what I said in the Cafe Russe. I don't want there to be any more secrets between us.

Ridge: Neither do I. Neither do I, Brooke. I -- it's -- my life has gotten very complicated lately. I'm don't really know how that happened. A few months ago, the future really seemed clear to me. But now, I don't know. I don't really know who I am anymore.

[Background chatter]

Stage manager: Okay, thanks.

Man: Hurry up.

Rick: Well, it looks like they're almost ready.

Amber: Where's April?

Rick: Well, there's the producer.

Amber: What if she got too nervous? She could've backed out.

Rick: No, no. It's okay. There she is.

Stage manager: Okay, so you've got three marks -- one, two and three. The monitor is right here. The camera --

Amber: Oh, God, please don't let her blow this.

Stage manager: I'll be right back.

April: Thanks.

Stage manager: You want me to get you some water or some tea or anything?

Amber: Come on, April. You can do it. Just relax.

Rick: Hey. Don't worry. If she is anything like her sister, she's gonna be just fine.

[Cheers and applause]

Craig: You're gonna do a good job. You look great. Thank you.

[Cheers and applause]

Stage manager: Here we go.

Craig: Ladies and gentlemen, it's my pleasure to introduce to you a multitalented young lady making her national television debut on our little program. The surprising, the funky, the talented, the gifted -- we've all enjoyed her work. Here she is, April Knight, ladies and gentlemen.

[Cheers and applause]

April [Singing]: Never know how much I love you never know how much I care -  When you put your arms around me  - I get a feeling that's so hard to bear - You give me fever when you kiss me  - Fever when you hold me tight fever in the morning - Fever all through the night - Romeo loved Juliet - Juliet she felt the same - When he put his arms around her - He said Julie, baby, you're my flame - Now give us fever when we kiss - Fever with my flaming youth - Fever on the fire - Fever, yeah I burn forsooth - Now you've listened to my story here's the point that I have made - Chicks are born to give you fever - Be it Fahrenheit or Centigrade - They'll give you fever when you kiss them -  Fever if you live and learn - Fever till you sizzle - What a lovely way to burn - What a lovely way to burn

[Cheers and applause]

Craig: Very nice. Very nice. Good work. April Knight, everybody. Be right back.

Brooke: It's been a confusing time for all of us.

Ridge: No, Logan, I mean it. Literally. I don't know who I am or where I'm going. I have no idea what the future holds for me.

Brooke: Well, it's your future, Ridge. What do you want to do? It's up to you.

Ridge: I just want to feel like I'm doing the right thing, I guess.

Brooke: What is your heart telling you?

Ridge: It's telling me I'm right where I need to be.

Brooke: What a coincidence. My heart's telling me the same thing.

Bridget: I just have to get Ridge out of my head, C.J. Italy, the time we spent together, that kiss -- I just have to forget about it all.

C.J.: Well, that really doesn't seem to be working for you.

Bridget: Well, then I have to try harder. Help me.

C.J.: Bridget, I want to. I'm trying. I mean, I don't like seeing you this way, but --

Bridget: Just give me some advice, then.

[C.J. sighs]

C.J.: Okay. I really don't think you need to forget anything. I think what you need to do is remember. You have to remember what your life was like before you got caught up in all this -- before the trip to Italy, before you found out that Ridge wasn't your brother. And, hey, remember where we were? Just a few months ago? You and me, I mean, we were just at the start of something. We were really connecting with each other.

Bridget: Yeah, we were.

C.J.: Bridget, if you really, really want to forget about Ridge, you can. You just have to remember that your life wasn't always this confusing. I don't know about you, but I thought we were pretty happy back then. And I really feel like we could be again.

[Bridget thinking]

Bridget: I have to forget. I have to forget.
