Ridge: What are you doing here?

Brooke: I came to talk to Taylor. I thought that she could -- well, that she would be able to --

Ridge: I know. Me, too.

Brooke: I've never done this before. I don't know why I'm doing this right now. I just felt drawn to this place today for some reason. What?

Ridge: I just asked Taylor for some kind of sign to tell who I could turn to in all this -- and you show up.

Brooke: Wow, that's a pretty amazing coincidence.

Ridge: Is it?

[Massimo talking gibberish]

Phoebe: Giddy up, giddy up!

Thomas: Why don't you give Mojo a break?

Massimo: You know something? I think Thomas is right. Why don't you girls come over here. Get over here, come on. Work on this Tower of Pisa puzzle that I brought you?

Phoebe: Okay.

Steffy: Okay.

Thomas: You always wear that, don't you?

Massimo: This?

Thomas: Mm-hmm.

Massimo: Yes -- yes, I do.

Thomas: It's really cool. Where'd you get it?

Massimo: Thomas, this ring has been in my family for generations, given from fathers to sons. My father gave it to me before he died. Would you like to try it on?

Thomas: Sure! It's too big.

Massimo: It is now. But I'm absolutely sure that it's gonna fit you perfectly one day.

Thorne: Is Macy here?

Lorenzo: I don't think that's any of your business.

Thorne: You don't think a husband has a right to know where his wife is?

Lorenzo: Not in this case.

Thorne: Macy and I are destined to be together. And we're going to be together. And if you were any kind of man you would step aside and let her get on with her life.

Lorenzo: Where I come from, real men protect the women they love.

Thorne: And you feel Macy needs to be protected from me?

Lorenzo: I know she does. You intoxicate her with promises and hope, so she can't think straight, then leave her shattered and alone to pick up the pieces of her life. Well, I won't allow it this time. I won't let you destroy something so beautiful and so good the way you did before.

Thorne: You won't allow me to what?

Macy: Thorne! What's going on?

Lorenzo: Thorne didn't appreciate my observations about his character.

Macy: You shouldn't be here.

Thorne: Neither should you.

Macy: I told you I need time, Thorne. To sort this out.

Thorne: What is there to sort out, Macy?

Macy: A lot.

Thorne: Don't take too long.

Brooke: What? You think this is kismet? Fate?

Ridge: Maybe. I mean, we are both here, aren't we? I just asked for some kind of sign -- and you show up. No one else, just you.

Brooke: Well, I'd be a fool to try to talk you out of this.

Ridge: But you're not convinced.

Brooke: I like to believe that I have control over my destiny.

Ridge: Yeah, I used to feel the same way. Now I'm realizing I'm realizing how little control we actually have over anything.

Brooke: You know, maybe I should go. You probably want to be here alone.

Ridge: No, Brooke -- I'd like you to stay. Please.

Brooke: I'm surprised you want me here. I thought you would still be angry with me.

Ridge: With everything that's happened these last months, I'm not really sure what I feel anymore.

Brooke: I'm sure that Stephanie would let you know how you should feel about me and my affair with deacon. I mean, I'm sure that you should feel nothing but disgust for a woman who gets pregnant with one man's baby and tries to pass it off as another man's child. Saint Stephanie certainly wouldn't do that.

Ridge: Mother's as flawed as the rest of us, Brooke.

Brooke: I don't think Stephanie would be to happy to hear that you've taken her off her pedestal.

Ridge: Yeah, well, she took herself off.

Brooke: What's bothering you, Ridge?

Ridge: You mean, other than losing my wife, almost losing my son and losing --

Brooke: What?

Ridge: Almost everything that seems relevant in life.

Brooke: I'm sorry for my part in your pain. I know that you've been through so much, and I should have been there. I should have been the one that you could count on, the one that you could turn to, and I let you down.

Ridge: You know, you're not the only one.

Brooke: What is it? What's happened? Ridge, let me help. You don't want my help, do you?

Ridge: I just feeling really overwhelmed right now, Brooke, and I just don't - - I don't know where to turn.

Brooke: Where you've always turned. When you're ready, I'll be here.

Massimo: Who's more ticklish. Ah -- you thought you were going to get away with it, huh? Now -- yes, you are.

Ridge: All right, all right -- break it up in here.

Girls: Daddy!

Ridge: Hey, girls. Who started all this fun anyway?

Girls: Him!

Ridge: Hmm -- all right, you three, in the kitchen, lunchtime, pronto. As for you --

Massimo: Uh-oh.

Kids: Bye, Mojo, see you later.

Massimo: Traitors. Listen, I hope you're not angry because I dropped by unannounced to play with the kids.

Ridge: They're your grandchildren. You have every right to see them whenever you want.

Massimo: I just wish they knew that I was their grandfather.

Ridge: Look, Massimo --

Massimo: No, no, no -- look, I understand. Fine. I have my son. For the moment, that's enough.

Ridge: You're just gonna have to give me a little time to get used to all this.

Massimo: Of course. I don't expect things to change for us overnight. You've been Ridge forester all your life -- at least, that's what you thought. You wanna know something? You know how you really are? Massimo Marone the Fifth -- [laughter] and this ring belongs to you. It is one of a set of three duplicate rings that have been passed from father to son to grandson in the Marone family for generations.

Ridge: No, Massimo, I can't --

Massimo: No, no, no. You must, my son. And one day I will give you the remaining ring for you to give to your son.

Ridge: All right.

Massimo: All right.

Bridget: Mom.

Brooke: Hi.

Bridget: Did you forget something?

Brooke: No I just wanted to talk to you. Can I come in?

Bridget: Oh -- sure.

Brooke: I hope I'm not interrupting.

Bridget: No, no, I was just making some calls. I wanted to see if I could enroll in any additional classes at school.

Brooke: Any luck?

Bridget: Yeah, I can start next week.

Brooke: Sounds like we're both getting our lives back on track. I ran into Ridge when I left here, and you'll never believe where.

Bridget: Nothing really surprises me anymore.

Brooke: Taylor's grave. The surprising part is Ridge was asking Taylor to give him some kind of sign to show him where he should turn for help.

Bridget: And she did.

Brooke: At that very moment, I arrived. Can you believe it?

Bridget: It's amazing how things work out.

Brooke: Yeah, it really is. I mean if I didn't show up exactly at the very moment Ridge and I never would have reconnected.

Bridget: Are you saying you guys are back together?

Brooke: Well, hopefully we're on that road. That's what I came here to talk to you about.

Darla: When sally told me that you were still married to Thorne -- oh my God, Macy, I couldn't believe it.

Macy: Darla --

Darla: Of course, there's still this part of me that can't help but wonder how you managed to bag two gorgeous husbands, when I can't even get one.

Macy: Darla --

Darla: Not that I'm jealous or anything. Well, maybe just a little bit. Seriously, honey, I'm so happy. I'm so very, very happy for you and Thorne. You guys can finally be together. The way it was always meant to be.

Macy: Darla --

Darla: What?

Macy: It's just not that simple.

Darla: Honey, of course it's that simple. I mean, if you love Thorne, it is. You do love Thorne, don't you?

Macy: Yes, Darla, I do love Thorne.

Darla: And he loves you, too.

Macy: He says he does. He says he wants to be me to make up for all the hurt he caused me. And Darla, when I'm when I'm with him -- oh god, when I am with him it's just --

Darla: It's incredible.

Macy: Yeah. Nobody has ever done for me what Thorne has.

Darla: Okay, then what's the problem.

Macy: Because loving Thorne hurts. It almost killed me.

Darla: Oh, honey, he's changed.

Macy: Has he?

Darla: Don't you see it?

Macy: That's just it, Darla, I love him so much I don't even know if I can trust what I see when it comes to Thorne. That's why -- that's why I wanted to talk to you about this. I was hoping you could help me.

Darla: How?

Macy: Well I was wondering if you could talk to him. You know, get a clear picture of where his head is right now. I -- I just trust your judgment right now a lot more then I trust my own. Can you do that for me?

Bridget: Mom, if you want me to talk to Ridge for you --

Brooke: Oh, no, honey, I don't want you to do that. I just -- I know that you're close with him and I know he respects your opinion.

Bridge: So, don't lobby on your behalf, but don't say anything that will hurt your chances with him, either. Is that it?

Brooke: I know you don't think that I'm good for Ridge and the kids. And after everything that happened with Deacon, I wasn't so sure myself.

Bridget: But now?

Brooke: I've made some terrible mistakes and some that were really hurtful, but that doesn't make you unworthy, Bridget. It just makes me flawed, human. And I love Ridge and those kids with all my heart and soul.

Bridget: Do you think that's enough?

Brooke: What else is there?

Ridge: Here you go Mr. Martini man.

Massimo: Thank you! So, the two of you meet up?

Ridge: Yeah, we did. She found me at Taylor's grave site actually. I was talking to Taylor, asking her to send me a some kind sign, send me someone that I could that I could lean on. Then she showed up.

Massimo: Well, you don't need a sign to know that Bridget is the kind of woman that you can lean on.

Ridge: Bridget?

Massimo: That's who we're talking about isn't it?

Ridge: I'm talking about Brooke.

Massimo: You were with Brooke at Taylor's grave? Good lord, Ridge!

Ridge: Massimo, come on, don't start with me now. Look, Brooke and I -- it was actually okay, the two of us being together.

Massimo: Stop it, okay. Just stop it! I don't wanna hear this! What are you doing wasting your time with that cheating, lying, cheat --

Ridge: Massimo, just back off, okay.

Massimo: No, I can't back off, Ridge. Okay, I cannot back off if I think you're jeopardizing your future and jeopardizing your children's future and the Marone family --

Ridge: Oh, please, I'm not doing that.

Massimo: You are if you turn to Brooke.

Ridge: Massimo, listen to me.

Massimo: Never mind. Let me tell you something, okay. Brooke can't hold a candle to Bridget.

Ridge: Bridget is my kid sister!

Massimo: She is not! Look, she is Eric's daughter.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Massimo: The sooner that you realize that and accept the fact that she is the only one that can step into Taylor's shoes, all right? That's what I want. That's what the children want. And if you, damn it, would only realize that you want the same thing.

Ridge: Oh, Massimo, just stop, will you? I don't wanna hear any more about this. You may be my father but, you're not gonna run my life, you understand? I'm telling you for the last time here -- Bridget and I, and only Bridget and I, will decide what are relationship is going to be. Tell me you understand me.

Massimo: All I want is that you don't close off any possibilities. That's all. You know, you're not only making this decision for yourself, Ridge. This is gonna affect your family -- our family -- forever. Think about that.
