Massimo: Bridget, do you actually believe going to Copenhagen for a year is gonna give you peace of mind?

Bridget: Well, at least I'll be so busy, I won't have time to think.

Massimo: Oh, I see. Fine. You're not gonna think about Ridge and the kids, huh? Or how they're doing? Or god forbid, that maybe Thomas should have another drink? That's not gonna haunt you, is that it?

Bridget: No.

Massimo: So you're gonna just block everything out? Everything, including the fact that you almost came this close of getting everything you ever wanted?

Bridget: I don't want it. I don't!

Massimo: Yeah, well, maybe you don't want to admit it to yourself, but down deep inside, where it counts, you know.

Bridget: I don't remember my father inviting you to this party, so why don't you just go?

Massimo: I'm not gonna go. I am not gonna go until I am sure that my son and my grandchildren do not lose the one person they need more than anything else in this world right now.

Bridget: Well, you're gonna be waiting a really long time.

[Massimo sighs]

Gladys: Gladys pope, makeup artist extraordinaire! I'm here, let's get started.

Sally: Oh, Gladys, honey, you're a lifesaver.

Gladys: Oh, and whose life are we saving this time?

Sally: My daughter Macy's.

Gladys: Dying once wasn't enough for her?

Sally: Evidently not. Listen, you remember Thorne Forrester?

Gladys: Oh, the ex-husband with the dimples and the six-pack? Oh, brother, what I wouldn't do to pop his top.

Sally: Yes, well, fine. Well, it seems that through some mishap that Thorne and Macy are still legally married.

Gladys: Well, so, what's the problem?

Sally: The problem is that Thorne is living with another woman, Dr. Tricia quick. Mm? The name says it, man. She's some kind of psychologist, psychiatrist, you know?

Gladys: Let me guess. You want to find out whether she's kissing away more than just his tears.

Sally: I do, I do. And I got a plan, okay? You come up with the perfect disguises for us, and then we head over to Thorne's.

Gladys: "We"?

Sally: Yeah. Come on, it's a big house. I can't do this all by myself. Please. Are you with me on this, or not?

Gladys: Exposing Thorne? Baby, I can't think of anything I'd rather do.

Sally: There you are, pal.

Brooke: I wonder why you're smiling?

Thorne: It's pretty amazing, huh? I can't believe that I've got Macy back.

Bridget: Worrying I might not show up?

Stephanie: The thought crossed my mind, and from the look on your face, I'd say it crossed yours, too. Let's step outside. Bridget, honey. You're doing the right thing.

Bridget: How can leaving a family who needs me be the right thing?

Stephanie: Those are Massimo's words. And if that isn't reason enough for you to get on the plane tonight, I don't know what is.

Bridget: I know, I know. But Stephanie, I just --

Stephanie: Listen. Your staying here is only going to end up hurting the people that you most want to help.

Bridget: I can control my feelings.

Stephanie: Like you're doing right now? Bridget, Ridge and the children are going to be fine. We'll take care of them. You've got to take care of yourself. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. Just grab hold of it, and don't look back. C'mon. Everybody, look who's here!

All: Hey!

Stephanie: Our loss and Copenhagen's gain.

Massimo: Oh, Ridge!

Ridge: Massimo, not now. I don't have time, okay? They're throwing a good-bye party for Bridget. She's leaving the country tonight.

Massimo: All right, look. I know all about that. That's why you and I have got to talk.

Ridge: Look, Catherine's on her way up here with the kids. I want to get to Bridget before they do, okay? Find out why she's leaving us now, after everything Thomas has been through.

Massimo: No, no, no, no. Not yet.

Ridge: Massimo, I need some answers, okay?

Massimo: Look, this is what I'm trying to tell you. I have the answer.

Ridge: You know why Bridget's leaving?

Massimo: Oh, yes. And I'm the only one that's gonna be able to give you the real reason.

Ridge: Well, come on. Tell me.

Massimo: No, in private.

Ridge: Oh, Massimo. Come on!

Massimo: Do you want to hear this, or not? Come on.

Tricia: Thorne is going to love this.

[Knock on door] Stay right here. Be right back. Coming!

Sally: Howdy, ma'am.

Tricia: Hi, may I help you?

Gladys: Is this Thorne Forrester's residence?

Tricia: Yes, it is. Except he's not home right now.

Sally: Well, that's no problem, little lady. We can still do our job here. Yes. Are you the missus?

Tricia: No.

Gladys: The mistress? I mean, the mistress of the house.

Tricia: I live over the garage.

Sally: Really?

Gladys: And I'll bet you like to keep Thorne's chassis warm during the night, little lady.

Tricia: Would you mind telling me what this is about?

Gladys: Cool your jets, honey.

Tricia: Excuse me?

Sally: That's the company name. Kind of a company joke, you know. The name of the company is "cool your jets."

Tricia: Oh.

Sally: We're here to service the hot tub.

Tricia: I didn't realize anything was wrong with it.

Sally: Oh, no, no, no. Nothing like that. It's just that we come regular once a month.

Gladys: And if we're late, let me tell you -- a lot of sleepless nights.

[Gladys cackles]

Sally: Take it easy. You all right? You got to forgive my partner here. He's just getting over a cold.

[Gladys fakes coughing]

Sally: Well, if there's nothing else, can we just get in here, and we'll just get started with our job?

Tricia: Well, tell you what? Why don't I show you the way out there?

Sally: Well, thank you. That's very kind of you. Hey, hey, hey. Can you try to be a little more subtle?

Gladys: Oh, boy. You should talk, with that lousy john Wayne imitation.

Sally: Oh, I know. But at least I'm tryin' to sound like a cowboy with a gun in his holster, not like some rooster who's looking for his cock-a-doodle-doo!

Mark: So, do you think anyone would mind if I gave you a kiss good-bye right out here in the open?

Bridget: Uh, only my dad, my brothers, C.J. --

Mark: Right. I guess I don't have to worry about competition from him anymore.

Bridget: Oh, well, I'm sure you two will find something to fight about.

Mark: Not if I'm doing research in Denmark. You know, I figure Copenhagen would be a great place to study the human body.

C.J.: Uh, yeah. And on that note -- excuse us, will you, doctor?

Mark: Mm-hmm.

C.J.: All right. So, what's the big idea? Quitting on me without even two weeks notice? You know, I could sue you for breach of contract.

Bridget: I don't have a contract.

C.J.: Oh, I think we do. What do you call this? You know, I'm not gonna forget what you did for me, Bridget.

Bridget: Drive you crazy on a day-to-day basis?

C.J.: Oh, yes, yes. You did do that. But, you also gave me a reason to start living again.

Bridget: I'm just glad you did.

C.J.: Me too. You know, your room will be empty when you get back next year. I'll make sure of it.

Bridget: Oh, no, no. That seems like such a waste. C.J., you should rent it out.

C.J.: I don't think so. I don't think I could handle the thought of anyone knocking on my wall but you. Look, Bridget, I know that this is a big opportunity for you, but there's still time to change your mind. I mean, you don't have to go.

Stephanie: No, you can't change your mind. She can't. It's the opportunity of a lifetime. And you're going to take it, aren't you, Bridget?

Massimo: Make sure that door is closed behind you.

Ridge: Hey, it's not like we're discussing national security here.

Massimo: You would be surprised what certain people would do to keep me from telling you this.

Ridge: You're making it sound like a conspiracy.

Massimo: Well, it is. In a way, that's actually what it is. See, there's so much that you're unaware of. So much that's been kept from you.

Ridge: About Bridget leaving?

Massimo: Well, that's just part of a larger story.

Ridge: Mass, what the hell's going on here?

Massimo: Something that is going to change your life forever once you hear it. And it's been kept from you too long. And it's time that you know.

Gladys: Sally?

Sally: Oh! Gladys, please. Do not sneak up on me like that. You're killing me. You know, you've got a lot to learn about undercover work.

Gladys: Well, now you know why I've had so many divorces.

Sally: Ha ha, very funny. Very funny. Just tell me. Tell me. Did you find anything incriminating in the bedroom?

Gladys: Nothing is in there that doesn't belong to Thorne -- unless there's something about Tricia that we don't know.

Sally: I came up empty, too. I don't know what to do.

Tricia: Excuse me, but aren't you supposed to be working?

Gladys: Oh, yes.

Sally: Oh, yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. We are. We're working. Yeah, right here.

Gladys: We're doing the PHB balance on the water in the -- in the pool.

Sally: Yeah.

Gladys: You know, yes. That's what we're doing.

Tricia: I thought it was ph balance?

Sally: Oh, no ma'am. See, this is a very advanced test, something very new. I mean, it's so advanced that they had to add another letter to the name of it, right?

Gladys: Yeah.

Tricia: I see.

Gladys: Hey, duke, wouldn't you say this is a 5.3?

Tricia: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, it's way too acidic.

Sally: Is it? Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's way too acidic. I think we had better double-check it, Brad. Yeah. Excuse me, ma'am. I think we'll get on with it. We'll just go and rectify the problem.

Tricia: Well, I'm afraid things are only gonna get worse -- Sally.

Eric: Well, this is one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do in my life -- say good-bye to my little girl. Even now, I keep telling myself she's gonna be thousands of miles away, but still right here. I am going to miss your beautiful face. Hmm. But, having said all that, I give you permission in front of all these people to go over there and kick butt. [Laughter] You have earned this. You deserve it. Especially after everything you've been through this year. You emerged from all of that with such grace and dignity. And I'm realizing now that's always gonna be a big part of who you are. We couldn't be more proud of you.

Brooke: Your father's right, honey. I remember when you were 5 years old, and we gave you this little medical kit. And you would walk around with that stethoscope on backwards all the time. But you kept saying that someday, you were going to be a doctor. And then you met Taylor, and she became your hero. You wanted to be just like her. And here you are. You're following right in her footsteps, going after the very same things that were so important to her. Well, they're all there for the taking. So, go get 'em.

C.J.: Well, I think she needs to give a speech, don't you? Come on, Bridget. Speech!

All: Yes, yes. Speech.

Rick: C'mon, budge. You have got to tell us how much you're gonna miss us.

Bridget: Oh, I don't really know what to say. The thought of walking out of here tonight and leaving you behind. I just wish there was some way I could take you with me -- or not go at all. But it's time I start seeing things the way they really are. This is a chance I can't pass up. There's too much riding on it. And Copenhagen is where I need to be.

Thomas: No! You can't go! You can't!

Massimo: Have you noticed a change in Bridget recently? A kind of reticence around you, almost as if she sees you in a new way?

Ridge: Ever since we got back from Europe, yeah. It's like my little sister just disappeared.

Massimo: Yeah. See, that's because she found out something over there. Something that made such a difference in the way she sees you, that it scared her. And that's the reason why she's running from it now.

Ridge: From what? What's she afraid of?

Massimo: The truth. And how it relates to you, and to me.

Ridge: To you? How are you involved in all this?

Gladys: So far, Thorne's as clean as my third husband's shot glass at the end of the happy hour.

Sally: I don't think we're gonna get anything more here.

[Phone rings] Gladys, I think we'd better beat it before we blow our cover.

[Phone rings]

Tricia: Hello? Thorne, hi. How did you know that I was thinking about you?

Thorne: What do you mean? I got your page. Is this about your turkey dinner tonight?

Tricia: Well, I hope that you're not gonna be late. I wouldn't want you to miss out on the most succulent breast that you've ever tasted.

Thorne: Well, listen, if things end up running late here, go ahead without me, okay, and I'll grab a plate when I get in.

Tricia: Okay. I'll be sure to keep it nice and warm.

Thorne: You really know how to make a turkey? With dressing and all that? Over my legs before I stuff it in.

[Sally gasps]

[Water splashes]

[Sally spluttering]

Sally: What am I doing? I'm in the drink again! What is it with me and bodies of water?

Gladys: You think you got trouble? That's a $900 wig! Get out of the way, flipper!

[Sally groans]

Bridget: I wish I could stay with you. I really do. But Thomas, sometimes we can't have everything we want.

Steffy and Phoebe: Bye, Bridget. We'll miss you.

Bridget: Oh.

Thomas: I won't.

Eric: Thomas.

Thomas: I don't care! You promised us you'd stay with us. You said you wouldn't leave us again. What are we gonna do without you? What's dad supposed to do?

Bridget: Come here. Come here. Oh, come here.

Stephanie: Catherine?

Catherine: Yes?

Stephanie: Where's Ridge?

Catherine: I don't know. He should've been here by now. He came in before we did.

Ridge: Look, whatever you've got to say, just say it! Bridget could be out that door any minute.

Massimo: Actually, that's something neither one of us wants. Please sit down a minute.

Ridge: Massimo, come on.

Massimo: No, I need you to sit for a second. Please, Ridge. I know what it's like to lose something precious. God knows, I have lived with the emptiness of that every day. But no more. After I have told you this, you will have what you need to stop Bridget. And I will have --

Ridge: Massimo, are you all right? Hey.

Massimo: I never should've waited. This is the way it's meant to be. This is the way it should be. You have a whole new world out there for you, with limitless possibilities, a world with tradition, with history. It's a world that's been kept from you too long. Denied to both of us. Oh, god. How I have dreamed of saying these words to you. Ridge, my boy. I am your --

Ridge: My what? You are my what?
