Amber: A sequel? You actually think that I would be stupid enough to make this mistake again?

Rudy: What mistake? Amber, that tape is pure gold. Do another one, and we'll make a fortune!

Amber: Absolutely not!

Rudy: Come on! This is your dream! Making it big, getting your name in lights. Baby, you're a star.

Amber: I am a mother! I am a wife!

Rudy: Yeah, in real life. But out there, you're Ambrosia, queen of the amateur video market.

Amber: No. I am a member of one of the most respected families in the country. We make some of the finest clothing in the world, not adult videos!

Rudy: You've got it all wrong. Amber, this is art.

Amber: No, Rudy, this is over. Okay? I have worked too hard to get to where I am. It has taken me years, but I have finally, finally earned the respect of my family. Now if you could do me a favor and if you could take those two little brain cells that you have left and rub them together and just imagine what this tape could do to me! This is not a gold mine. Okay? This is a nightmare. And it's going to stop right here, right now!

Steffy: We're going to miss you, Bridget.

Thomas: We wish you could stay.

Phoebe: Why can't you live here anymore?

Bridget: I had to leave. It was time. Brooke is gonna be your mommy now.

[Knock at door]

Bridget: Ridge? What are you doing here?

Ridge: I need to talk to you.

Bridget: Oh, I thought you had plans with my mom.

Ridge: We did.

Bridget: Did you give her the ring?

Ridge: Yeah, she couldn't wait to put it on.

Bridget: I bet.

Ridge: Oh, yes. Pretty much a beautiful moment. Just the way I pictured it. Took her out to the terrace, gave her the ring, told her my intentions. And it would have been a perfect moment if we weren't interrupted.

Bridget: Oh, god, don't tell me Stephanie showed up.

Ridge: Worse. Your ex-husband.

Bridget: Deacon was at your house?

Ridge: Princess, why didn't you tell me?

Bridget: What?

Ridge: You know what.

Bridget: No, I don't. I --

Ridge: Well, I know. I know what they did. Deacon told me the whole disgusting story.

Eric: Ridge?

Stephanie: What's going on?

Eric: Where are the children?

Brooke: They're upstairs with Catherine.

Stephanie: Where's Ridge?

Brooke: He's gone.

Eric: I thought you were having dinner together.

Brooke: Yes, we were. And then he wanted to talk first, and then he gave me this.

Stephanie: He gave you a ring and he left the house?

Brooke: He knows, Eric.

Eric: What?!

Brooke: God, how could this happen?

Eric: Brooke, what does Ridge know?

Brooke: He knows everything. Everything. Deacon was here.

Stephanie: Deacon told Ridge about your affair?

Eric: Does he know about Hope?

Brooke: The baby, the affair, everything.

Stephanie: Where did Ridge go?

Brooke: I don't know.

Eric: Did he say anything?

Brooke: Oh, I just tried to explain everything to him, Eric, and he wouldn't listen to me. He was so angry. And then when he tried to leave --

Eric: All right. I'll go, I'll go. I'll find him. I'll talk to him. We'll straighten this whole thing out, okay? You just hang in there. Everything's gonna be all right.

Stephanie: Eric, leave him alone. He's left here because he's angry.

Eric: Yes, I'm sure he is. But running away isn't gonna solve anything.

Stephanie: Fine! Fine! Go look for him.

Ridge: Bridget, I'm so sorry. I didn't know. I knew you and your mother were having problems, but --

Bridget: I can't talk about this.

Ridge: You don't have to hide it anymore.

Bridget: Yeah, I know. I just -- I have so much work to do. I have to study. I have an exam.

Ridge: Bridget, did you hear what I said? I said that I know what happened.

Bridget: You know what? This is really more between you and my mother. I don't want to get in the middle of it.

Ridge: Your mother had an affair with your husband.

Bridget: It doesn't matter anymore. Look, it's in the past. If she's gotten over it, then so have I.

Ridge: No, Bridget, I don't think you have.

Bridget: You know what? It would really help me if everyone would stop dredging it up all the time.

Ridge: You can't just sweep this under the rug. Your mother did a horrible thing. She slept with your husband. She had a baby by him. Bridget, you just can't pretend it doesn't hurt. And you can't pretend that it doesn't matter because it does. I know it does.

Rudy: What do you mean stop? Amber, we're just getting started.

Amber: No, we're not!

Rudy: Honey, you can't argue with the public. They love you. I'm telling you, this project could go global.

Amber: This project could ruin my life. I'm not kidding, Rudy. If my family finds out about this tape, everything I love, everything i care about will disappear!

Rudy: Man, they sound pretty uptight.

Amber: No, they are respectable people.

Rudy: Then what are you worried about? If they're so squeaky clean, no way they're gonna see it.

Amber: No, they're not. They're not. You know why? Because as of this very minute, delight productions is shut down!

Rudy: You can't do that!

Amber: Did I sign a release?! Did I give you permission to sell that tape?! Does the word "defamation" mean anything to you? You are out of business, Fellini. The website, the phone line, the fax, everything! You're out! Out! I want you to track down every single one of these tapes and I want you to destroy them! You have two days! Two days! Two days, Rudy. And when I come back, if "Ambrosia undresses" is not history, I guarantee you will be!

Brooke: Go ahead, Stephanie, rub it in. I know how you love to make a bad situation worse.

Stephanie: I don't know. Maybe -- maybe Deacon's revelation is a blessing in disguise.

Eric: Massimo!

Massimo: Eric? What are you doing here?

Eric: I'm looking for Ridge. Do you know where I can find him?

Massimo: No. Is something wrong?

Eric: When you see him, tell him to call me right away.

Massimo: Now, wait, wait, wait. Eric, wait. If something has happened, I'd like to know.

[Eric sighs]

Eric: Well, you're gonna find out sooner or later. Deacon Sharpe is in L.A. He crashed Brooke's dinner with Ridge -- the selfish bastard -- told Ridge everything.

Massimo: Oh, I'm sure that Ridge was horrified.

Eric: He was furious. He left Brooke at the house. And when Stephanie and I found her, she was shattered. She was just shattered.

Massimo: Well, I hope you threw her out.

Eric: What?!

Massimo: You didn't leave her with the children?

Eric: Catherine's watching the children.

Massimo: Well, I hope she's plugging their ears. Those kids have been traumatized enough. I mean, they don't have to stand around listening to Brooke blubber about her disgusting sex life.

Eric: This isn't a joke, Massimo! This is a tragedy!

Massimo: Oh? Tragedy? Really? Ridge dodged a bullet tonight. A bullet that could have scarred his family for the rest of their lives.

[Massimo scoffs] Brooke Logan is a menace, Eric. And that you refuse to see that is absolutely appalling!

Eric: I don't make excuses for Brooke's affair with Deacon. But it doesn't have to affect her relationship with Ridge.

Massimo: Eric, the woman slept with her daughter's husband. And you think she's fit to raise Taylor's children?

Eric: Well, you just know everything there is to know about my family, don't you? Why is that, Massimo? Look, Ridge needs to move on. I think Brooke can help him do that.

Massimo: Brooke can't help him, Eric. And believe me when I tell you that Brooke is not gonna be able to help herself after tonight!

Bridget: Is that why you came over here? You felt sorry for me?

Ridge: I realize this has got to be so uncomfortable for you.

Bridget: Ridge, just go home. Okay? Just go back to your dinner party.

Ridge: No, Bridget, I'm not leaving here 'til we talk about this.

Bridget: Well, I really can't tell you anything you don't already know.

Ridge: I didn't come over here for me. I didn't come over here for Brooke. I came over here because of you.

Bridget: Well, I really wish I could help you. Honestly, I really wish I could tell you something to lessen the shock. Believe me, Ridge, everything you're feeling right now, I felt it, too.

Ridge: Why are you comparing my feelings to yours?

Bridget: Well, I know how much you care about her. I mean, you're mom's biggest supporter. No matter what she's done, you just -- you always manage to see the best in her.

Ridge: Yeah. Well, not anymore. Not after what I heard tonight. I don't think I could ever even look at your mother ever again!

Brooke: This is a blessing, Stephanie? Your son just drove off in a rage.

Stephanie: Well, maybe he'll be feeling better by now. Now that he's gotten away from you.

Brooke: You can never pass up a chance to kick me when I'm down, can you?

Stephanie: It's all blown up in your face, hasn't it? All your hard work. Because of -- because of Deacon.

[Stephanie laughs] Deacon has kept Ridge from making the biggest mistake of his life. I just hope my son realizes how lucky he is.

Brooke: And you're happy about this?

Stephanie: No, I'm not happy about this! I never wanted this to come out. I never wanted the truth to be known by anybody. I would have done anything, Brooke -- anything in the world that it took to keep Bridget and your baby from this scandal. But now that it's out -- it's out and Ridge sees you for the kind of woman that you are.

Brooke: I'm not that kind of woman anymore, Stephanie!

Stephanie: You know, I think something kind of remarkable has happened this evening. Something has been accomplished that I was not able to do in all of these years. Ridge sees you. He's never really seen you before. He's always defended you, always protected you, always come to your rescue because his precious Brooke Logan could do no wrong. Well, that's changed tonight. And it's changed because of Deacon.

[Stephanie sighs] Deacon. Deacon opened up his eyes, didn't he? And Ridge finally sees the real you.

Bridget: Ridge, I know you don't mean that.

Ridge: What your mother did was unconscionable.

Bridget: She made a mistake.

Ridge: Bridget, you don't have to defend her.

Bridget: I'm not defending her. I'm just -- I'm trying to explain.

Ridge: That's not your job, though. You've spent your life making excuses for Brooke. I know because I've done the same thing. But this -- this is too much.

Bridget: We dealt with it.

Ridge: Why? Because you felt you had to? 'Cause you felt like that was the way to keep the family together? Bridget, I've felt this tension you've been carrying around for the longest while. Every time i mentioned your divorce or the falling out you've had with your mom, I felt like the two were connected. I even thought maybe you resented her for the troubles you've had with men. You know, she hasn't exactly been a shining example, has she? This -- I never thought about this.

Bridget: I didn't want anyone to find out.

Ridge: This isn't your secret to keep.

Bridget: I don't want Hope growing up with this.

Ridge: Hope is your ex-husband's baby.

Bridget: And it's not her fault.

Ridge: Whose fault is it then? Go ahead. Just say it.

Bridget: There's no point.

Ridge: This has gotta hurt so much. I know it does.

Bridget: I can handle it.

Ridge: But you don't have to handle it by yourself. Just talk to me.

Bridget: Ridge, I already told you. There's nothing to talk about. It's over. It's --

Ridge: No. No, Bridget, it isn't over. Not for you. Maybe the affair between your mother and Deacon, that's over. But little Hope, she's a living, breathing -- proof of their affair. And it's gonna be a constant reminder of Brooke's betrayal to you.

Bridget: Why are you doing this?

Ridge: Because I think that this is a poison that's inside of you, and I think it has to come out.

Bridget: I cant. I can't.

Ridge: Yes, you can. You can. You can just talk to me. You can just -- just talk to me. Just let it out. It's okay. Come on. I know this has got to be so awful for you. You've tried to deny it. You've tried to pretend it doesn't exist anymore, but none of that's working. I know. Just let it out.

[Bridget crying]Ridge: Talk to me.

[Bridget sobbing]

Bridget: She's my mom.

[Bridget sobbing] my mother and my husband --

Ridge: Just let it out. Just let it out. It's okay. It's okay.

[Bridget sobbing]

Bridget: I hate her! I hate her! I hate her! I hate her!

Ridge: It's okay.

Bridget: I hate her. I hate her. I hate her. I hate her.

Ridge: It's okay, sweetie.

[Bridget sobbing] it's okay.

Brooke: You're wrong, Stephanie. Ridge hasn't written me off.

Stephanie: He's gone.

Brooke: He was just angry. And I don't blame him. Sleeping with Deacon was the worst thing I've ever done. But I've paid for it.

Stephanie: Do you think he's going to forgive you, Brooke?

Brooke: Bridget did.

Stephanie: Well, yeah, you're her mother. She's stuck with you whether she likes it or not. But he has his children to think of.

Brooke: And I would never do anything to hurt those children.

Stephanie: I'm sure you once said the same thing about Bridget. I mean, you had to have known what would happen if he found out. You knew that he would reject you. That's the real reason that you wanted to keep this to yourself.

Brooke: I'm sure if I just had a chance to explain to Ridge, he would understand.

Stephanie: Explain what? Explain how you betrayed your own daughter?

Brooke: That had nothing to do with my feelings for Ridge!

Stephanie: I'm sure in your mind it doesn't. But he's had a glimpse now. He's had a chance to see beneath this beautiful facade. And what he's seen is a woman who's capable of unspeakable things. A mother -- a mother without an ounce of integrity. A woman with no self respect. And all I can do is thank god -- thank you, god -- that he got to see it before it was too late.
