Ridge: Hey, princess. It's time to wake up.

 Bridget: Ridge!

 Ridge: Hey.

 Bridget: Hi.

Ridge: Boy, the kids must have really worn you out. You didn't even make it up to your room last night you were so tired I guess.

Bridget: Uh, it's not my -- um, it wasn't made up.

Ridge: Well, you didn't have to sleep on the couch.

Bridget: I just came over to watch the kids.

Ridge: It wasn't too much trouble?

 Bridget: No, not at all.

Ridge: I was kinda worried, you know? The kids first night without me here. But obviously I didn't have to worry 'cause you were with 'em. You guys had a good time, huh?

Bridget: Yeah. Oh, yeah, lots of fun. I'm sure they'll tell you all about it when they get up. Anyway, I should be going.

 Ridge: So soon, huh?

 Bridget: Well, you're home now.

Ridge: Look, if you're still tired, you're welcome to catch a few more hours up on my bed.

Bridget: Oh! That's okay. That's fine. Thanks anyway though.

Ridge: At least let me fix you some breakfast. I was gonna make some pancakes for the kids.

Bridget: Uh, maybe another time, huh?

Ridge: Bridget, what's going on? You seem so anxious to get out of here.

Bridget: Oh, I told you, I'm really busy.

Ridge: Princess -- I can tell you're really uncomfortable. Something else is going on here. Tell me what it is.

Bridget: Uh, oh! You know what? I left my purse upstairs. I'm just gonna run upstairs and get it and -- and then i have to go. So, um -- sorry.

                        *************************************************************************************************

 Amber: Hey, you're back!

 Brooke: Hi! How was Hope?

Amber: Ah, she was an angel. She's down in day care.

Brooke: Yeah, I just saw her.

Amber: Obviously you haven't been home yet.

Brooke: No. I thought I'd come in and sign these reports first.

Amber: You woke up thinking of work?

Brooke: Marketing needs them by ten.

Amber: Hello! Shouldn't you be out celebrating? You just spent the night with Ridge!

Brooke: Well, that was an accident. We got snowed in.

[Amber sighs]

Amber: Yeah. Must be nice to have mother nature on your side, huh?

 Brooke: I guess so.

Amber: So tell me, how was it? Huh? How was it?! Was it as incredible as you hoped it would be? Hmm? Come on! I know you've been dreaming about this for so long, so spill. Come on! Come on. Was it worth the wait?

Brooke: It was one of the most romantic nights of my life.

[Amber squeals]

Amber: Ha-ha! See?! See, didn't I tell you? It was the wine and the fire and two of you just alone together with a nice little blizzard outside. Oh! What a perfect setting to make lo --

 Brooke: No, we didn't.

 Amber: You didn't?

Brooke: No. Ridge and I didn't sleep together.

                        ***********************************************************************************

[Doorbell rings]

Stephanie: I heard you got snowed in at the cabin.

 Ridge: You heard that, huh?

Stephanie: Yes. Well, honey, it's my cabin. The caretaker called me. He just wanted to make sure you got home all right.

Ridge: Yeah, I just walked in.

Stephanie: I came over because I thought maybe the children, you know, might be upset that you weren't here last night. And I was gonna take them out for breakfast.

Ridge: Oh, well, they're still sleeping.

Stephanie: Oh. Well, why didn't you call me? I would have come and gotten them and taken them over to my house. They could've stayed with me.

Ridge: They were fine. Bridget stayed here.

Stephanie: Oh, all right. So what were you doing at the cabin?

 Ridge: Skiing with Brooke.

Stephanie: You spent the night in the cabin with Brooke?

Ridge: We intended to be back for dinner last night and we got snowed in.

 Stephanie: You slept with her?

 Ridge: What?!

Stephanie: I knew it. I knew this was coming. It was just a matter of time. I knew it.

Ridge: No, mother, not that it's any of your business. But, no, I did not sleep with Brooke last night. And not because I didn't want to.

                        ***********************************************************************************

[Amber laughing]

Amber: Okay, wait a minute. I'm a little confused. You said nothing happened?

Brooke: We didn't cross that line.

Amber: But you said it was the most romantic night of your life.

 Brooke: It was.

 Amber: But you didn't --

 Brooke: No, we didn't.

Amber: Then why are you acting so happy?

 Brooke: Because I am.

 Amber: You're not disappointed?

Brooke: No. It was my decision.

Amber: Okay, wait. You mean Ridge wanted to and you said no?

 Brooke: That's right.

Amber: Okay. Now I'm really confused.

Brooke: I just thought we should wait.

 Amber: For what?

Brooke: It's a big step, Amber. If this relationship goes any further, it's not just going to have an effect on us. It's going to have an impact on the whole family. And before I jump in, I just want to know it's right.

Amber: And when will that be?

Brooke: Well, I believe it's traditional to wait until you're married.

[Amber laughing]

Amber: The wedding night? It's -- that's good. That's -- that's really good, you know?

[Amber laughing] you -- you know, keep him waitin', playin' games --

Brooke: No, I am not playing games here. I was really serious about this.

Amber: No, no, no. I'm not doggin' you. I think it's a great idea.

Brooke: Well, it's all about responsibility and making the right choices for ourselves and for our families. I certainly don't want Ridge if I have to chase after him or try to seduce him. If it's going to happen for us, it will happen because it's meant to be.

                        *****************************************************************************************

Stephanie: I want to make sure I heard you correctly. Brooke Logan turned down the chance to seduce a Forrester man?

Ridge: I'm not gonna discuss this with you.

Stephanie: She must have given you a reason.

Ridge: No reason I'm gonna tell you.

Stephanie: Well, you don't have to be defensive about it.

Ridge: Mother, I'm not gonna stand here and discuss my sex life with you. I'm sorry.

Stephanie: You just said you didn't have sex.

Ridge: I don't want to get into this, okay?

Stephanie: She's playing hard to get.

 Ridge: No, she isn't.

 Stephanie: Oh, yes, she is.

Ridge: Actually, she thinks we should wait.

 Stephanie: For what?

Ridge: She thinks we shouldn't rush into anything, huh?

Stephanie: Oh, my god! She wants a commitment.

Ridge: Well, you say that like there's something wrong with it.

[Stephanie scoffs]

Stephanie: Well, that's the oldest trick in the world.

Ridge: No, it's not a trick at all. She made a responsible decision for herself and her family. Mother, Brooke has changed. And you know what? She's learned from her mistakes.

Stephanie: Right. She's just become more cunning and devious.

Ridge: This is fascinating! Now you're suspicious because Brooke didn't try to seduce me.

Stephanie: This is just a ploy.

[Ridge laughs]

Ridge: I get it. She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.

Stephanie: Do I really have to remind you of all the trouble that that woman caused with your marriage?

Ridge: See, that's what I'm talking about. You're still livin' in the past. You have not realized or you will not admit that Brooke has changed.

Stephanie: Well, I thought she had until she started making moves on you.

Ridge: See, I'm not gonna get into this same old debate with you. I don't want to do that, mother.

Stephanie: Ridge, this is not what Taylor wanted for you and the children.

Ridge: Taylor resolved her issues with Brooke a long time ago.

Stephanie: Yeah, because she was a very compassionate woman. But she would not want her in your bed.

Ridge: Okay, that's it. I'm gonna go out and get some air because it's getting rather oppressive in here, okay?

Stephanie: I'm just concerned about you.

Ridge: Will you do me a favor and take care of the kids when Bridget leaves?

 Stephanie: Where are you going?

Ridge: Tell Thomas and the girls I'll be back very soon.

Stephanie: Ridge, I'm talking to you!

[Stephanie sighs]

                        ******************************************************************************************

Bridget: Good-bye, phoebe. Bye, Steffy. I have to go. I don't know when I'll be back. It could be a while. I care about you both so much -- and Thomas -- and your daddy, too. You're all so important to me. I don't want to go. There's really no place I'd rather be. But I can't stay. I just can't.

[Bridget sighs]

 Bridget: I'll miss you.

                        ********************************************************************************************

Brooke: Oh, Ridgie-poo, you forgot something!

Stephanie: Oh, boy, did he ever. He's forgotten how cunning and deceptive you really are. But I haven't.

Brooke: What are you doing here, Stephanie?

Stephanie: What are you up to?

Brooke: I'm not up to anything. I just brought Ridge back his --

 Stephanie: His what?

Brooke: His ski gloves. We went skiing yesterday.

Stephanie: Yes, I heard all about it.

Brooke: Oh! So then you must have heard how we spent the night together in the cabin.

Stephanie: Yes, and I'm still trying to figure out how you managed a snow storm.

Brooke: Oh, no. You think I planned that snowstorm?

Stephanie: I think that you would do anything to get in bed with him. I mean, he's such an intelligent fellow. But like all the men in the Forrester family, he just refuses to see how manipulative you really are.

Brooke: I am not being manipulative.

Stephanie: You slammed the brakes on last night, didn't you?

Brooke: Yes. And that should make you very happy.

Stephanie: He wasn't ready and you knew it. You're playing him. I'm not gonna let you get away with it.

[Brooke sighs]

                        ************************************************************************************

Ridge: Hey, doc. I've just been driving around town trying to get my head together here. Mother and I had another blowout. So what else is new, huh? Ah, it's been a crazy time, doc, this last while. Guess I just needed someone to talk to. Didn't know where else to go.

                        ********************************************************************************************

Brooke: Stephanie, I've been nothing but considerate and respectful of your son's feelings.

Stephanie: You're taking advantage at a time when he is vulnerable and lonely.

Brooke: Which is why I think we have to take things slow.

Stephanie: Brooke, this isn't gonna go anywhere. You're just a temporary diversion.

Brooke: All right. I think you better stop right there before you say something you're going to regret.

Stephanie: What I regret is that I thought you were capable of putting the needs of the family over your libido.

 Brooke: This isn't about sex!

Stephanie: Oh, it isn't? Oh, how many times have I heard you say, "I'm so lonely"?

Brooke: I'm good for Ridge, Stephanie. And what's good for ridge is good for the kids. And what about ridge? What about how lonely he is and how miserable he is? He's wallowing in his loss. And I'm the one who brought a smile to his face and made him think about the future.

 Stephanie: A future with you?

[Brooke sighs]

Brooke: I don't know. I really don't know what's gonna happen there. All I can tell you is that I love Ridge. I love him more than anything in this world.

Stephanie: If you really loved him, Brooke, you'd back off. But you want him to make some kind of a commitment.

Brooke: Well, maybe someday he will.

 Stephanie: Not with you!

Brooke: And why not? What is so wrong with that?! What is so wrong with being Mrs. Ridge Forrester if that's what your son really wants? My god, Stephanie! Is there anybody out there who is more right for Ridge than I am?

                        ************************************************************************************************

Ridge: I know you're watching over me and the kids. I'm sure you know what happened last night. Brooke and I got snowed in up at the cabin. Mother thinks Brooke's up to her old tricks. But I don't get that feeling. I think she's different. I'm sure you see that, too. Anyway -- I guess I have something I want to share with you. I don't know if I should feel guilty about this or not. When I walked into that bedroom, I had every intention of making love to her, doc. Brooke stopped it. She said I wasn't ready. Maybe I'm not. That moment, I just wanted to forget. I want to feel normal again. I want to make a physical connection with somebody. Is that so wrong? I miss you so much, doc. I miss you so much and I probably always will. I gotta move on somehow, don't I? Gotta find someway to -- to keep going.

[Ridge sighs] mother thinks that you wouldn't support any kind of relationship with Brooke. And I told her that you want me to be happy. Brooke does make me laugh. When I'm with her, I feel like my old self again. And I gotta tell you, it sure takes the sting off this incessant loneliness.

[Ridge sighs] it feels good with Brooke. But is it right? Is it what you'd want for me? Am I going down the right path here, doc? I gotta know. Is there something else? Is there something else I'm not seeing?

                        *********************************************************************************************

Brooke: Is there anybody out there who is more right for Ridge than I am? Is there?

Taylor: Bridget, love is too precious to not let yourself feel it. Never withhold your love. Don't let old hurts steal it from you, okay? Always love, no matter what the cost. It's the greatest gift.

Bridget: Is it Ridge you're talking about? Ridge and me?

Bridget: No. No, it can't be.
