Massimo: Oh, my son -- destined for such great things. Sidetracked -- so damned unworthy of you.

Brooke: I was just trying to do something nice for Ridge and the kids, but everything I do, you just look at in the worst possible light.

Stephanie: Yeah, well, don't get me started.

Brooke: See?

Stephanie: You're trying to take over here and establish yourself in Ridge's life, before he's even had a chance to get over what happened.

Brooke: I'm trying to help Ridge get through this transition easier.

Stephanie: From Taylor to you?

Brooke: No, from Italy to this big, empty, lonely house!

Stephanie: Oh, right.

Brooke: My god, it's not even worth talking to you about this. You're just determined to look at me as the villain.

Stephanie: You're right, let's not continue. Go home. Or have you already sold your house in anticipation of moving in here?

Brooke: You know, I'm not ready to go home yet. I want to see what's wrong with Bridget.

Ridge: What's changed between us?

Bridget: Isn't it obvious?

Ridge: Not to me.

Bridget: Well, it is to everyone else. You're getting better.

Ridge: And that's a problem?

Bridget: No. No, that's not a problem. That's great. I'm so happy for you.

Ridge: But you're leaving.

Bridget: Because you don't need me anymore.

Ridge: How can you say that, Bridget?

Bridget: Because it's true. You didn't even really need me in Italy. I shouldn't have gone.

Ridge: Italy -- did something happen while we were there?

Bridget: No, no, no.

Ridge: Because you started acting differently there. I can almost pinpoint the day --

Bridget: I'm not the one acting differently, Ridge, you are. You're starting to heal and so are the kids. And that's so good.

Ridge: Something's bothering you, Bridget. Something's bothering you. You're treating me so differently now. Does -- does this have anything to do with your mom and me?

Bridget: Why would you even ask me that?

Ridge: I don't know. It's just seems to coincide with -- with when she and I were getting closer. Are you feeling like we're moving too fast or something?

Bridget: That's none of my business. And you know what? Even if it was, I'm the one who keeps telling you how good she is for you. Remember?

Ridge: Yeah.

Bridget: So, that's not the issue. There is no issue, Ridge. It's just -- it's time for me to go.

Ridge: Right now, tonight?

Bridget: I hadn't planned on staying here more than a couple of days. It's been two months.

Ridge: If I just knew what's been bothering you --

Bridget: I'm not bothered. Okay? I'm -- I'm not necessary.

Ridge: Now wait a minute. That's totally nuts. Listen to me here. Yes, we're doing better. But if you think you're not needed around here, Bridget, you couldn't be more wrong.

Stephanie: This situation with Bridget has nothing to do with you.

Brooke: She's my daughter, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Well, you know, if she had wanted to talk to you about it, she would have.

Brooke: And the same thing would go for Ridge, right? But you sent him up there.

Stephanie: Oh, geez.

Brooke: Or were you just trying to get him away from me?

Stephanie: You know, it's so amazing. Honestly, the world does not revolve around you.

Brooke: So something is upsetting Bridget? You might as well tell me now or I'm gonna just go up there myself.

Stephanie: Oh, just leave them alone, will you please? She's packing. Okay? She's going back to her apartment tonight.

Brooke: And --

Stephanie: Well, I don't want her to go. I don't think it's a good idea. I think it's gonna be very traumatic for the children and for Ridge.

Brooke: Traumatic? Don't you think that's overstating it a bit?

Stephanie: No, I don't. I think the children have really come to rely on her.

Brooke: Yes, I know, but there are other people around who can watch over the children. There's Catherine, and there's you, me --

[Stephanie laughs]

Stephanie: Oh, I should've known you would have grabbed this opportunity to move her out the house.

Brooke: You know, I was the one who told Bridget to help out here in the first place. But she has other responsibilities, Stephanie. She has work, she has school, and god knows what else. She's probably overwhelmed. Look, why don't you just leave, okay? I'll go upstairs. I'll handle this situation with my daughter.

Stephanie: Excuse me, this is Taylor's home.

Brooke: No, it isn't. Not any more. Taylor is gone. Now, I know you're angry, and you have every right to be. But it doesn't mean you can take your anger out on me. And it certainly isn't going to help your son. He needs me, whether you want to believe that or not.

[Phone rings] Forrester residence?

Massimo: Who is this?

Brooke: Brooke Logan. Who is this?

Massimo: Massimo Marone. I want to talk to Ridge.

Brooke: Ridge isn't available right now.

Massimo: Put him on the phone, Brooke.

Brooke: I said he was busy. I will have him call you later.

Bridget: You don't have to say that.

Ridge: Apparently, I do. How could you not know how much you mean to us?

Bridget: Look, Ridge, this is a very intense time in your life. I know that. I understand that. And I know you're grateful for my help. I'm just glad I could be here for you.

Ridge: But you're glad to be leaving.

Bridget: No. Yeah. I mean, you didn't think I was going stay here forever, did you?

Ridge: I guess I just don't understand the rush.

Bridget: Well, Ridge, I do have a life to get back to, you know? Classes, work, friends. An apartment I've barely even seen.

Ridge: You've also got three little faces that light up when you come into the room.

Bridget: Don't. Don't do that to me. That is so selfish. You're laying a guilt trip on me. God, it's all about you, right? Whatever's easier for your life! Never mind what it does to me!

Ridge: Have you been that unhappy here? I'm sorry. Man, oh man, I'm sorry. I guess I have been pretty wrapped up in my own stuff. I -- you're right. You're absolutely right. You should be doing what you need to do. I didn't -- I don't know. I didn't mean to do all that. I didn't mean to say all that.

Bridget: I know. I know that.

Ridge: You had a life before you came here. A life that was pretty damn full at that. You know, I don't meant to be ungrateful. I really don't.

Bridget: Ridge, that's not what I'm saying.

Ridge: Look, I'm really sorry. I guess that's it. I wanna say I'm grateful. I'm really grateful for everything you've done for us.

Bridget: I know.

Ridge: I guess that's it. Okay.

Bridget: Ridge -- I'm sorry. I lied. I was lying.

[Knocking on door]

Massimo: Come in. Come in. Ahh -- to what do I owe the honor?

Stephanie: I'm very upset with you, I'm gonna tell you exactly why. Right now at Ridge's house, because of you, Bridget is leaving.

Massimo: What?

Stephanie: He's going to try and talk her out of it. And for your sake, you'd better hope that he does.

Massimo: I don't understand. Why would she be leaving?

Stephanie: Because she's uncomfortable! Uncomfortable with the secret! Uncomfortable of the knowledge about us, about the fact that he is not her brother. And if she leaves, because of your telling her this, you will have opened the door to Brooke, right down the path to Ridge.

Massimo: All right, fine. I agree with you. All right? You're right about Brooke. She's a miserable bitch. But the rest doesn't make sense. Why is she uncomfortable around Ridge?

Stephanie: Because she feels everything has changed. He's not her brother. Now she denies that that's why she's leaving, but I happen to think that's part of it. Listen, I talked myself blue in the face trying to make her understand how much the family needs her.

Massimo: Well, how did she react to that?

Stephanie: She said it's too hard for her to stay.

Massimo: Ahh -- there's got to be more to it then that.

Stephanie: Oh, no. You're not gonna put that blame off on someone else for this. Ridge is wonderful with her. The children adore her. Her being there at the house, it's the happiest -- it's the happiest I've seen her in a long, long time. I mean it's as though she's in love with the whole family.

Ridge: What are you talking about, you lied?

Bridget: I'm not leaving because I want to. It's because I don't want to.

Ridge: Okay?

Bridget: Ridge, I'm getting too attached. To all of you. And the longer I wait to leave, the harder it's gonna be.

Ridge: Well, who says you have to leave at all?

Bridget: Well, yeah that's true. Actually that would be good. I could be like Kato Kaelin, you know, just hanging out in your guest house, forever.

Ridge: Well, I'm all right with that.

Bridget: This is just what's best -- for everybody.

Ridge: So, you're not mad at me?

Bridget: No.

Ridge: You don't hate my kids?

Bridget: Oh, my god, no. Ridge, your kids are amazing. I just hope one day I'm as lucky as you. To have kids like yours.

Ridge: I see. Is it just the kids?

Bridget: Well, no. It's not just the kids.

Ridge: You know, I warned you this would happen.

Bridget: What are you talking about?

Ridge: The day of the showing, I warned you. I told you that eventually you would probably see how irresistible I was. And I guess it's just taking you a little longer to realize that.

Bridget: Oh, my god. You are so obnoxious.

Ridge: And?

Bridget: Egotistical.

Ridge: And?

Bridget: Full of yourself!

Ridge: And?

[Bridget laughing]

Bridget: Irresistible, damn it!

Ridge: And? And?

Bridget: Would you just leave me alone. I have to finish packing, go away.

Ridge: We're going to miss you around here. You know that?

Bridget: I'm going to miss you, too.

Massimo: Well, now, I can imagine. She must be terribly confused.

Stephanie: Confused and very unhappy.

Massimo: And uncomfortable around him, you said.

Stephanie: It's been marvelous, you know, her being there for him and the children since Taylor died.

Massimo: Yeah, exactly. Exactly what he needed, too. I mean, someone caring, quiet. Her every instinct is right on the nose --

Stephanie: Yeah, then there's Brooke.

Massimo: But she might not leave. You said that he'll talk her out of it.

Stephanie: He's trying to. But she seemed to me to be very determined. I got the feeling she was --

Massimo: Afraid. Afraid maybe what could happen if she left now?

Stephanie: No, no. That's silly.

Massimo: Well, if Bridget were to leave now -- she would leave for all the wrong reasons. She may be making one of the worst mistakes of her life.

Ridge: They wanted to say good-bye.

Thomas: That's not true. We don't want to say good-bye. We don't want you to go.

Phoebe: Please stay, Bridget.

Steffy: We promise we'll be good.

Bridget: Oh, you guys -- I'm not leaving because of anything you did.

Phoebe: Then why do you have to go?

Bridget: Because -- it's time.

Steffy: That's not a good reason.

Ridge: Hey, don't look at me. I'm with them.

Brooke: Bridget isn't going very far. She'll be back to visit.

Bridget: Yeah, a lot.

Thomas: It's not the same.

Bridget: I know -- I know it's not the same . And I'm gonna miss you guys so much. I brought you some little things to remind you of me, and how much fun we had in Italy. Okay, phoebe.

Phoebe: Oh, it's a little cat.

Bridget: Yeah, it reminded me of you. It's kind of quiet and shy -- but on the inside, there are all these colorful, exciting things going on. All that creativity you have.

Steffy: Mine's a bird.

Bridget: Yeah, it's a bird. You know why? Because birds fly over us, and they see all the same things we do except from a totally different point of view. And that's just like you, Steffy. You're so observant. You -- you see things and pick up on things that nobody else does. And Thomas, this is for you. It needs a little work.

Thomas: It's a model ship.

Bridget: Well, it's the kit. You put it together. See, this ones the Cocca Veneta, it's an Italian merchant ship from the 16th century.

Thomas: So Mojo's great-great-great-grandpa probably had one just like it.

Bridget: Probably. I just figured you could put it together with your dad and Mojo.

Thomas: You, too?

Bridget: Yeah, of course. If you want me to.

Thomas: Please don't go, Aunt Bridget.

Bridget: I have loved getting to know all of you and being here. You are all so amazing. But I just think it's time for things to start getting back to normal, you know. And you guys all have my phone number, right. You know you can call me anytime. Okay? I know you're gonna be fine. You're gonna be just fine. Can I have a hug, please? Thank you. Oh, god.

Ridge: Right, well, let me -- here.

Bridget: Oh, no, no. You're just take them back upstairs. I know you.

Ridge: Hey, don't tempt me. If there's anything at all I could do or say to keep you from walking out that door

Brooke: You should be flattered, Bridget. He's never begged a woman to stay before.

Ridge: Well, I'm not begging, I'm just -- I'm just -- I'm begging. I'm begging you, don't go.

Bridget: You're gonna be okay, too, ridge. Thank you, for everything.

Ridge: You're thanking me? After everything you've done for us?

Bridget: You have no idea what it meant to me to be here. And be part of this family.

Ridge: Yes.

Bridget: See you guys.

Brooke: I'll talk to you later.

[Bridget sobbing]
