[Knock at door]

Massimo: Do you mind?

Stephanie: What did you tell Bridget? Why would you burden that girl with this?!

Massimo: What did you tell her?

Stephanie: I told her the same thing that I've told you over and over again. Eric is Ridge's father in every way that counts. Now I'm sorry if that hurts you, but that's just the way it is.

Massimo: For how long?

Stephanie: You know the answer to --

Massimo: No, I don't! How much am I supposed to sacrifice here, Stephanie? You have your husband, your children, your grandchildren. You have all of this to look forward to. And what have I got? Nothing! My hopes, my dreams have nowhere to go -- except in here, where they die a little more every day.

Stephanie: Well, I'm sorry!

Massimo: Well, I don't want your pity! I want --

[Massimo groans] I want, I want -- what's impossible.

Stephanie: Well, I can't give it to you, can I? Now you saw Ridge with Eric yesterday.

Massimo: Yes, and it nearly killed me. To see my son so close to a man he thinks is his father.

Stephanie: Well, that's just the way that it has to be. Because if the truth comes out, it'll destroy both of them.

Massimo: What about me? What about how it's destroying me! Doesn't that count for anything?!

[Knock at door]

Ridge: Mother? Hi, Massimo.

Massimo: Ridge.

Ridge: I just came by to check on the schedule for when the jet's leaving.

Stephanie: Oh. Your father said in a couple of hours.

Ridge: Okay, I'll be in my suite. Hey, did Massimo tell you about the big meeting he's got set up for me?

Massimo: Yes, and I think we ought to get to that meeting. These are very important business men I want to introduce you to today. They are very anxious to meet the man who's gonna take over Marone industries one day.

Ridge: Well, I do hope they won't be too disappointed.

Massimo: Oh, I don't think they're gonna be disappointed in you, my boy. Let's go.

Ridge: All right. Ciao, Mother.

                        ***********************************************************************************************

Darla: Okay, Sal. Gotta get going here. No, no, no, no. I booked us a private jet. It's beautiful. No chickens, no seals -- just first class all the way. Mm! You're gonna love it.

Sally: Forget about that, Darla. We are not going anywhere until I talk to Macy. I need more time with her. Don't you understand? I need time to convince her it is right and safe for her to come home.

Darla: No, no -- where are you going? Where are you going?

Sally: I am gonna go outside. I am going to go everywhere Macy has gone. I am going to talk to everyone who knew her, everyone who worked with her. And I am going to find someone who knows where she is.

Darla: You can't.

Sally: Why not? Do you want to give me one good reason why not?

Darla: Sal, she's gone.

                        ****************************************************************************************

Adam: Lorenzo says it shouldn't take long to get another car. He's right, too. We need one. Someone might recognize this one. Macy? You okay?

Macy: No, I'm not.

Adam: Leaving Thorne was the right thing to do.

Macy: What about leaving mom? Was that the right thing to do, Dad?

                        ***************************************************************************************

Massimo: Gentlemen, please be seated.

[Massimo sighs] thank you all for coming. I know this is not a good time to tear you away from your businesses, especially given the world situation at the moment.

Greek businessman: The very real international problems you allude to have taken their toll on all of us.

Turkish businessman: Personally and professionally.

Massimo: Yes, and that is one of the reasons why I felt it was imperative that we all meet.

French businessman: And is Mr. Forrester another reason?

Massimo: He is indeed. I want to take this opportunity to formally introduce you to ridge. And to also let you know that, one-day, he will be sitting here in my chair as head of Marone industries.

                        *****************************************************************************************

Sally: Macy has gone?! What are you talking about? Define "gone."

Darla: She left.

Sally: She left Camogli?

Darla: Yeah.

Sally: Well, she's coming back, isn't she? I mean, she lives here! This is where her father, Adam, lives. This is where Lorenzo lives.

Darla: Sally, they all left. I have such a horrible feeling that it's for good.

Sally: Macy wouldn't do that. She wouldn't do that to me. She wouldn't just disappear from my life again.

Darla: Honey, she didn't want to. She told me that -- she told me that Adam was in danger and that he's not safe here anymore.

Sally: Well, yes, I understand that. But that can be dealt with. That is no reason for Macy to leave without so much as a phone call. You misunderstood.

[Darla sighs] she wouldn't do that. She would never do that. All right -- you know where she lives, don't you, Darla? You know where she lives?

Darla: Well, yes --

Sally: Yes. Yes, well, you're gonna take me there. Come one.

Darla: No, I mean, what's the point? Sally, there's no one there. There's nothing there.

Sally: Darla -- this is not open for debate. Just take me there. Take me there now. Come one.

Darla: Okay. All right. Okay! All right!

Sally: Go! Go!

                        *******************************************************************************************

Stephanie: Bridget, come in.

Bridget: Thank you. I hope I'm not interrupting.

Stephanie: No, no, not at all. What's up?

Bridget: I was just looking for Ridge. She said he was gonna stop by here.

Stephanie: Well, he did. And then Massimo came by and they've gone to a business meeting.

Bridget: Oh --

Stephanie: Anything I can do?

Bridget: No, thanks. I just wanted to let him know that we're all packed and our bags are in the lobby.

Stephanie: Oh. And the children are with the nanny?

Bridget: Yeah.

Bridget: Yeah. Mm-hmm yeah. I -- I told them if they could be ready on time that the nanny could take them for one last gelato. I probably shouldn't spoil them so much, but I just can't help it.

Stephanie: They're lucky they have you.

Bridget: No, I'm lucky I have them. They're such good kids.

Stephanie: And suffered an incredible loss. But you've help fill their void, haven't you?

Bridget: Do you think Massimo will ever be able to fill the void in his life?

                        **************************************************************************************

Massimo: Ridge is a world-renowned fashion designer, who also happens to be president of spectra fashions.

Turkish businessman: This is who you would have run Marone industries one day?

Greek businessman: Spectra is a clothing company.

Massimo: Yes.

Greek businessman: Marone is a global industry encompassing many complex businesses.

Massimo: Yes, and I'm telling you that he is capable.

French businessman: But he has not practical experience.

Massimo: He is my choice. Now that is settled. Let us get down to business. When I called, you said that there was an urgent matter that we must discuss.

Turkish businessman: Massimo, our shipments are being turned away.

French businessman: From the places where they are needed most.

Massimo: Well, don't these governments understand that we are trying to help them?

Japanese businessman: I don't think the heads of state are even aware of what is happening.

Massimo: Well, then --

[phone dialing] -- I'll make them aware. Yes, Massimo Marone. I need to talk to him right now.

                        ***************************************************************************************

Bridget: I still can't help thinking about Massimo.

Stephanie: Yes, well, it's been a very difficult trip for him.

Bridget: You know, I watched him yesterday at the show. He just kept looking at dad and Ridge. It was so sad, Sstephanie. I honestly don't know how much longer he can keep this a secret.

Stephanie: Yeah, I wonder that every day myself.

[Knock at door]

Eric: Stephanie? Oh, you're both here. I just spoke to the pilot. He's ready to take off. So everyone's ready, right?

Stephanie: Yes -- oh, but Ridge and Massimo are in a business meeting.

Eric: You know, I'm really starting to hate the influence this man has over my son.

                        ****************************************************************************************

Greek businessman: I don't know how you do it, Massimo. We've been trying for weeks to get our shipments into port.

Massimo: Simple -- walk softly and carry a satellite cell phone.

French businessman: Well, it's not enough to carry it, you must know how to use it.

Massimo: Well, I wasn't about to let bureaucracy stand in the way of our shipments being delivered. After all, this is a humanitarian effort, my god.

Japanese businessman: Ridge, you are a lucky man. I hope you take full advantage of learning from someone so wise.

Ridge: That's the plan.

Massimo: Very good. Thank you, gentlemen. I realize this was on short notice. I appreciate you coming. Bye. Ciao. Ciao.

Ridge: Bye-bye.

Massimo: Ciao.

Ridge: Wow.

Massimo: Well said.

[Ridge chuckles]

Ridge: I'm not exactly sure what just happened, but one thing is clear -- you are the man.

Massimo: I take it that's a compliment.

Ridge: Of the highest order. So what happens now?

Massimo: Now I tell you what just happened and how it is going to affect you.

                        *************************************************************************************

Landlady: This one?

Darla: Uh -- yeah! Yeah, yeah, that's the one.

Landlady: You want to rent it?

Sally: I just want to see the place. Hurry up and open the door.

Darla: Per favore.

Landlady: You want to rent it or not?

Sally: I want to know about the people who were living here. Where did they go?

Landlady: They move out.

Sally: Did they say why?

Landlady: Apartment nice. You want to rent?

[Sally sighs]

darla: Can we just take a few minutes please to check the place out?

Landlady: I will be right down the hall.

Darla: Oh, prego. Prego.

Landlady: Prego?

[Muttering in Italian]

Darla: Thank you.

Sally: Darla, this can't be right. This can't be the place. I mean, you told me yourself you had trouble finding it when came here.

Darla: I'm sorry, Sal. This is the place.

Sally: That's impossible. I mean, Macy wouldn't do this. She wouldn't leave me like this without telling me where she was go --

Darla: What is it?

Sally: Oh, god.

                        *********************************************************************************************

Macy: It's not fair, Dad. I shouldn't have to chose between you and Mom.

Adam: Macy, that's not what this is about.

Macy: Isn't it?

Adam: Honey, if it came down to being with me or being with your mother, I'd say run to your mother in a heartbeat.

Macy: Do you have any idea how much I miss her?

Adam: Of course, I do.

Macy: What she be must be thinking. I left without saying good-bye. She has no idea where I am.

Adam: It's the only way I know how to protect you.

[Macy sighs]

Macy: Those men are after you, not me. It's not them, is it? They're not the ones that you're trying to keep me from. It's Thorne. You don't want me going back to Thorne!

Adam: I won't let you go back to Thorne.

[Macy scoffs]

                        *********************************************************************************************

Ridge: Well, now you do have my curiosity up. What happened here today is gonna have some kind of effect on me?

Massimo: Today is just the beginning for you.

Ridge: Of what?

Massimo: Ridge, I have been indulging you in this silly fashion business. It is time for you to take your place as the head of Marone industries worldwide.

Ridge: Massimo, what exactly are you talking about here?

Massimo: I'm talking about you. You're reaching your potential. You're capable of so much more than sitting around drawing dresses. And it's time for you to realize that and do something about it.

( Guitar riff plays )

Ridge: This conversation's taking a dangerous turn here. It's starting to sound like you're trying to tell me how to run my life.

Massimo: I'm trying to steer you away from wasting it.

Ridge: I don't think I am wasting it, Massimo.

Massimo: Please -- please, Ridge, you cannot devote your life to something as frivolous as drawing dresses.

Ridge: Why not?

Massimo: Because -- because it's not enough.

Ridge: Enough for who?

Massimo: You!

Ridge: That's not for you to decide!

Massimo: Ridge, look, I am giving you an incredible opportunity here. You cannot just throw it away and spend the rest of your days making dresses for spoiled rich women.

Ridge: Massimo, I can do whatever the hell I want to do.

Massimo: I should think you would want to do something a little more worthwhile.

Ridge: Who are you to say my contribution to the world is any less than anybody else's? I happen to be very proud or what I do.

Massimo: Look, what I'm trying to say to you is this -- there comes a time in a man's life when he has to become serious.

Ridge: Oh, you don't think I'm serious about designing?

Massimo: Yes, yes. But you are destined for greater things, Ridge.

Ridge: It is my destiny, Massimo. It's what I was born to do. And you can't stop me. Hell, I couldn't even stop myself. Designing, being creative, it's in my blood.

Massimo: No, it's not!

[Knock at door]

Eric: Hey.

Ridge: Hey.

Eric: We've been cleared to take off a little early. Are you ready?

Ridge: Yeah. Yeah, I'm ready.

Massimo: You can fly with me, Ridge. We can finish our conversation.

Ridge: Thanks, but I think I'll fly with my father. You and I can continue our business back in L.A. See you back there.

Massimo: Ciao.

Stephanie: I'll see you in Los Angeles.

                        **********************************************************************************************

Adam: Sweetheart -- I wish I had words to tell you what went through my mind the day I found you in that cabin. But every time I think about it, all of the emotions, they just collide -- the anger, the fear. But one thing stands out. One thing. Never again. Never again will I let my little girl be hurt like this. Having you with me is the only way I can keep you safe.

Macy: Safe doesn't always mean happy.

Adam: Honey, you can be happy. Lorenzo's a good man. You don't need Thorne. Lorenzo loves you. You can settle down. You can start a family.

Macy: I'll never have a complete family without mother.

Adam: Macy, Sally is always with you. Sally's always with you right here.

Macy: What about her heart? Huh? It's probably breaking into a million pieces right now.

                        ******************************************************************************************

Sally: Oh, Darla, this can't be happening. I can't lose you, Macy! Not again. Not like this. I can't.

[Sally gasps]

Darla: Sally?

[Sally gasps] Sally! Oh, my god. Oh, my god! Oh, my god. Sit down, Sally. Oh, my god, Sally. Talk to me. Are you all right? Can you speak? Honey, talk to me.

Macy: I'm so sorry.

Darla: Sally, are you okay? Please talk! Say -- speak to me! Sally! Hold on. Hold on.
