Sally: Oh, darling. I'm so sorry, Ms. Loren. I really don't know if we can handle that. No, no -- it isn't a question of being a bother. You could never be a bother. You know that. It's just that we're so terribly busy. You need a gown for the gala and for the awards? Oh, I don't know. You know, ever since our latest collection premiered, we are swamped with orders. But, you're very special to me, and I will do my best for you. But remember, you're going to have to stand in line right behind Julia, Jennifer, Julianne, and J-Lo. You understand. Darling, I'm going to have to go. I see something has just arrived. I'll talk to you later. Ciao, bella. Oh, this looks ravishing. My mouth is watering.

Fabio: And so is mine.

Sally: Oh, it is Michel Angelo's "David" in the flesh.

Fabio: Buongiorno, sally.

Sally: Buongiorno to you, my darling. Oh, Fabio, what a treat to see you.

Fabio: Calinia, it's so good to see you. When I heard you were in Portofino, I had to come.

Sally: Well, of course you did. And you have come. Boy, have you ever.

Fabio: Oh, sally. You have no idea how many time I dream of you since I saw you the last time.

Sally: Oh, Fabio. I'm so thrilled. I really thought I was nothing more than a tiny blip on your radar screen.

Fabio: Oh, tonight I'll lay awake picturing your flaming hair and your beautiful ruby lips.

Sally: Mamma mia.

Fabio: Your husband is a very lucky man.

Sally: What husband? Oh -- oh, of course. You had no way of knowing. Oh, Fabio, the wedding never happened.

Fabio: Then, you're available?

Sally: I do -- I mean, yes. I am, I am.

Fabio: Oh, mon amio, I want to share the rest of my life with you. I want to hold you in my arm. Wipe away your tear. I want to make love to you all night long until the sun comes up. Sally, will you marry me.?

Sally: Well, when in Portofino --

Darla: Sal? Sally?

Sally: Hmm?

Darla: Hello. Hey.

Sally: Darla. What are you doing? You have no idea what you just did. I was just inches away from eternal bliss. I was having the most Fabio -- fabulous, fabulous dream, and you woke me up.

Darla: Well, I'm really sorry, but this can't wait, okay?

Sally: Well, what is it? And it better be important, or I'm telling you, it is gonna be "arrivederci, Darla."

Massimo: Is it really that easy for you to forget how much pain Deacon and Brooke put you through?

Bridget: Easy? No. But I'm not gonna let a bad memory dictate my life.

Massimo: Oh. That is a very wise attitude. Which is why those same bad memories should keep you from making the same mistake twice.

Bridget: If you're telling me not to trust my Mother --

Massimo: Look, Brooke is very good at winning people over. I mean, my goodness. Look at Ridge, how many times he's forgiven her.

Bridget: Believe me, I have grown up watching them go back and forth. But one thing stays the same, and that is how much my Mother cares about Ridge.

Massimo: Bridget, your Mother cares about you, too. That didn't stop her from turning your entire world upside-down.

Bridget: She doesn't do it deliberately.

Massimo: And that makes it okay?

Bridget: Look, Massimo. My Mother has issues like everybody else, but deep down, she just wants to be loved.

Massimo: Bridget, you are extremely naive, or incredibly generous. For myself? Well, I base my opinions on experience and intuition, and they both tell me that Brooke is in it for herself, so you'll excuse me if I don't believe that Brooke is doing this out of the kindness of her heart.

Bridget: You know, I really wish you would just give her a chance.

Massimo: Bridget, no. Not when it comes to Ridge and the kids.

Bridget: They really mean a lot to you, don't they?

Massimo: Since I have no heirs, Ridge is gonna be the future of my company. And as soon as he's finished with this foolishness in Portofino, he's gonna have a lot more responsibility. And the last thing that he needs is any kind of distraction.

Deacon: Are you done? Hmm?

Brooke: Depends on whether or not you got the message.

Deacon: I heard you. I heard you ask me to stay out of your life.

Brooke: No, it wasn't a request, Deacon. This interference of yours has got to stop. You have to stop calling me, and if you as much as set foot at Forrester Creations, I'm going to have you arrested. And I'm not kidding. Now, I expect you to be on a plane first thing tomorrow morning.

Deacon: You expect? You want? You demand? Honey, you can kiss my ass! Who the Hell do you think you are? You don't tell me what to do, you got it? No one tells me what to do. No one!

Brooke: God, Deacon. I was just trying to get through to you. Asking you obviously wasn't doing anything.

Deacon: Oh -- oh, is that how it's supposed to work? You ask and you receive? Man, it must be nice to get everything you ask for.

Brooke: I wouldn't know.

Deacon: Really? Weren't you the person who told me that your life couldn't get any better.

Brooke: No, I told you I was picking up the pieces, and if you were to stick around, it would just jeopardize it.

Deacon: See, that's just it. You have the option of picking up the pieces, and tying it up in some nice, neat little package. Me, I'm here twisting in the wind.

Brooke: Well, maybe if you didn't start drinking --

Deacon: I started drinking because you left me with nothing.

Brooke: You agreed that moving away would be best for everybody.

Deacon: Best for you. I gave up everything, Brooke. And what thanks did I get from you, huh? I get you looking at me like I'm a piece of garbage. Let me ask you something. In the entire time that I was gone, did you ever stop for one second to consider my feelings? Did you ever think what it was gonna be like for me to have to leave everything that I knew and start my life again from scratch? Yeah, I thought so.

Massimo: Okay, there you go. Bridget, I'm gonna be counting on you to make sure that Ridge focuses on his priorities.

Bridget: And stays away from my Mother?

Massimo: Well, listen. All I'm asking for you is to continue doing what you're doing here. Because the way I see things, it is nothing short of miraculous.

Bridget: What, make an occasional dinner and tuck the kids into bed? I don't know, Massimo, sounds like you have pretty low standards.

Massimo: You know something? When you walk into a room, all of the sudden the entire atmosphere of this house changes. I saw it earlier when you came down to study. All of the sudden, the children were more playful. Ridge came to life. That, my dear, is a very special talent. You know, I hope he realizes how lucky he is to have you in his life. Does he tell you how much he appreciates you once in a while?

Bridget: Mm, he may have said a thing or two.

Massimo: Good, because a person should be made to feel valued. See, it brings out the best in them. And Ridge is gonna need your best -- and then some -- in Portofino if he's gonna win this contest.

Bridget: But I'm not going to Portofino.

Ridge: What do you mean, you're not going to Portofino?

Bridget: Oh, I'm sorry, Ridge. I just assumed you knew. I mean, with my schedule, there's no way I can take time off.

Ridge: Well, you're just gonna have to change your schedule, then. 'Cause in a couple of days, you're getting on a plane to Italy.

[ Darla grunts ]

Darla: Nope.

Sally: Oh, what do you mean, "no?" Darla, that's impossible. This is totally unacceptable. I'm not gonna put up with this! It's impossible!

Clarke: What's wrong? What's going on?

Sally: Darla's been trying to get us reservations to Italy, and the airline people are telling her there's not a single first-class ticket available, going anywhere in Italy, for the next two weeks!

Clarke: Then we'll have to fly business class.

Darla: Oh, no, no, no. There's nothing there either.

Clarke: Well, how are the Forresters getting there?

Sally: Well, how do you think? They're going by their own private jet, of course. Doing it in the lap of luxury.

Darla: Ooh, must be nice, huh? Oh, well, maybe one day.

Sally: Wait a minute, Darla. What do you mean, "one day?" What do you mean, "one day?" Why not today? Yes, today. Darla, I want you to get on it immediately. Find out all about how you charter a private jet. Check them all out, see what's available. Make sure it's not too expensive. You know, we don't want to blow the entire budget on just transportation, but let's get it done.

Clarke: Sally, a private jet. I can see it now -- "Air Spectra."

Sally: "Air Spectra," that's perfect. I love it. We are gonna out-Forrester the Forresters, team. This is it. We are going to have the trip of a lifetime.

Darla: Yeah, baby.

Bridget: I'm sorry, Ridge. I just -- I can't swing it.

Ridge: But I need you there. The kids need you. Who's gonna read to Phoebe and Steffy? Who's gonna sit through endless videotapes with Thomas while I prepare this extravaganza.

Bridget: Well, I'd rather just figured Catherine would do that.

Ridge: Well, yeah. Sure she can do that, but it's not the same. I mean, you're family, Bridget. Come on. They love you. They feel comfortable with you, I think that's real important. That's real crucial in their life right now.

Massimo: Ridge is right. I mean, he's got to feel secure that the children are being taken care of, so he can concentrate on the job he has to do.

Bridget: Oh, God. I would be there in a minute if I could, I swear. But really, I have all I can handle as it is right now. I'm sorry, Ridge. I just -- I can't go.

Brooke: I'm sorry, Deacon. You're right. You made a huge sacrifice for me.

Deacon: I growing up, I swore -- I swore to myself that I would never get walked all over again. I'd never put myself in that kind of position.

Brooke: Don't get down on yourself for doing a good thing.

Deacon: Yeah, look where it got me.

Brooke: Well, it doesn't mean you have to stay there. You have a lot to offer.

Deacon: Yeah? Yeah, like an empty bank account and a drinking problem.

Brooke: You're not drunk now, are you? See, you have it in you to beat this. Now, just a minute ago, you didn't take that drink. Because you're strong, and you're a survivor -- a fighter. And I guess that's why I just assumed you would land on your two feet the minute you got to New York.

Deacon: Maybe I would have, before.

Brooke: Before what? Deacon, you really gotta find a way to move on.

Deacon: Right. Yeah. Just like that. Brooke, it took everything I had to let you in.

Brooke: And you never thought what it would be like if I walked out, and took our daughter with us? Deacon, we need to resolve this.

Deacon: We?

Brooke: Yes. And I know exactly what we can do.

Bridget: You understand why I can't go, don't you?

Ridge: No, absolutely. And I'm sorry I pressured you. I suppose I could always just leave the kids at home.

Bridget: No, don't do that!

Ridge: Well, it's the only way I could be assured I wouldn't worry about them while I was working.

Bridget: Oh, they're gonna be so disappointed. This trip is the first thing they've had to look forward to in so long.

Ridge: Yeah, you're right about that. But, no. They should probably stay here, you know, without you there. God, I'd miss them like crazy, too.

Massimo: Oh, listen. You don't want to think about that.

Ridge: I could probably bring pictures of them. That would be all right for a while, wouldn't it, yeah?

Massimo: Well, yeah, I mean, you could always call.

Ridge: Yeah, but when they're going to sleep, I'm getting up. The time thing's all off like that.

Bridget: No, no, Ridge. Face it. You can't leave the kids behind. You just can't do that.

Ridge: She's right. So, I guess there's only one thing left to do. I won't go either.

Massimo: Oh, no, no, no.

Bridget: What?

Massimo: You can't do that! Of course not. What are you, kidding? I mean, this competition between you and Eric is giving Spectra a huge publicity boost. I mean, what will people say if we pull out?

Ridge: Well, I know. But I mean, look. I'm sorry. Kids come first. That's all there is to it.

Bridget: No, no -- Ridge. Ridge, what're you doing? You can't -- you can't cancel!

Ridge: Hey, Dad. Yeah, it's me. I got some bad news for you. I'm not gonna be able to go to Italy.

Bridget: We can't let him do this.

Massimo: He's made up his mind.

Ridge: I know, I know. No, Bridget's not gonna be able to go, and without her there -- you know. No, she's got school, and C.J., and Mark, you know, and that takes precedence.

Bridget: You know what -- really I -- you jerk!

Ridge: What? What?

Bridget: You sneaky, underhanded jerk! You weren't talking to Dad! You were putting me on!

Ridge: Ow!

Bridge: Well, you deserve it, you big dork! And you -- you of all people. You were in on this too, weren't you, "Mojo?" God, how could you guys make me feel so guilty? That is so mean!

Ridge: Oh, great. If you feel this guilty now, think how guilty you'd feel if you stayed behind.

Bridget: Yeah, well --

Ridge: Yeah, well?

Bridget: Well?

Ridge: Well?

Bridget: You may have a point.

Ridge: I may have a point, yeah. Now she's putting me on.

Bridget: Well, I guess anyone that would go to so much trouble just to get me to come along -- how could I say no?

Ridge: You mean it seriously? You're not putting me on here?

Bridget: Mm-mm.

Ridge: Really?

Bridget: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Ridge: That's my girl.

Massimo: Ah, bravo.

Bridget: You just better hope I don't blow next quarter's exams, or so help me --

Ridge: Come here, you little twerp. Come here.

Bridget: Ow.

Ridge: Seriously, thank you. Thank you, thank you. You're gonna have a great time. So, what are you waiting for? Go on up and pack, princess?

Bridget: "Start packing, princess."

Ridge: Start packing.

Bridget: I will get you for this. I swear I will.

Ridge: I'm sure you will.

Bridget: Both of you, when you least expect it.

Ridge: Yes, I'll look forward to it.

Brooke: You're not in this alone anymore.

Deacon: What're you saying, Brooke?

Brooke: We're both responsible for this relationship, so that means we're both equally responsible for how it ends. I realize that now. And I'm not going to let you leave here empty-handed this time.

Deacon: Is that so?

Brooke: I'm going to have the office messenger over a check. And it's going to set you up so that you can take time to find a job. How does that sound?

Deacon: Just about right.

Brooke: And if you want, I could call back east, and try to line something up for you.

Deacon: Sure.

Brooke: Okay, it's best this way. I mean, you certainly couldn't stay here and not be a part of hope's life -- or mine. And you understand why, right?

Deacon: Yeah.

Brooke: Well, so it's a deal. You're gonna be very happy with the money that I give you. And you'll be able to live comfortably for a while. Okay?

Deacon: Is this is what you want?

Brooke: Well, I think it's best for all of us. And the best is yet to come for you. It just can't be me.

Deacon: You won't even consider it?

Brooke: No. Deacon --

Deacon: No, it's -- it's all right. Hey, look. I know what you want. I'm a big boy, I'm not gonna cry on your shoulder.

Brooke: Okay, so then we understand each other.

Deacon: Yeah, we understand each other.

Brooke: Well, take care of yourself. I'll never forget you for this. Good-bye, Deacon.

Deacon: It's not gonna be that easy, Brooke. Not by a long shot.
