Rick: Lieutenant baker, there must be some mistake.

Lt. Baker: My men found her tracking bracelet. Evidence on the scene suggests she'd been drinking.

Rick: Well, so what, you found a liquor bottle? Anybody could have left it there.

Lt. Baker: They also found a bag of pills.

Rick: What, so you're telling me that amber left Taylor's and went off on a binge? Why? Why would she jump bail like that?

Lt. Baker: Obviously, she's not thinking very clearly right now. Look, I don't want her to get hurt. The sooner we find her, the sooner we get her off the street, the safer she's going to be. Look, here's my card. If you hear from her, you call me immediately.

Rick: And if you find her?

Lt. Baker: I'll let you know.

Ridge: Man, it's coming down out there. Good to be home. So, what do you say I out of this monkey suit, I build a fire, and you go get us a nice bottle of wine.

Taylor: I'll tell you what -- I'll get that bottle of wine and I'll meet you up in the bedroom.

Ridge: Now, listen to me. This is our house. I'm not gonna hide upstairs in our bedroom while Amber's got the full run of the place.

Taylor: Well, I should at least let her know we're back.

Ridge: Don't you dare. She's just gonna want to come down and talk -- talk, talk, talk, talk, talk. I want you all to myself right now.

Taylor: Ah, we do have the kids staying at your parents' tonight.

Ridge: Yeah. I say we forget about Amber and pretend we're alone.

Sheila: No one's coming to save you. They don't even know where you are.

Amber: But they will. The minute the police show up at Rick's, he's gonna know something happened to me.

Sheila: And why is that, Amber? Because you've never consciously broken the law? You assaulted a police officer. You're a criminal, Amber. You're a liar, and you're a thief. You know, I can -- I can only wonder what it did to Eric having to put your name on his clothing. Hiring you had to be Brooke's idea, because Eric wouldn't let you anywhere near his company. He'd do anything to get you away from his son.

Amber: That's not true.

Sheila: Oh, no? Really? Really? Then why -- why -- why did he throw a dinner party for my daughter? Why did he invite my daughter into his home? It's because he sees her potential. He knows that she'd be better for Rick than you, than you have ever been for him! So why don't you just face it, Amber. I'm doing your family a favor. Because they've been trying to get rid of you for years.

[ thunder crashes ]

Erica: How's he doing?

Rick: He's doing better. I'm gonna take him back upstairs in a few minutes.

Erica: Would you like some help?

Rick: Could you?

Erica: Yeah, sure.

Rick: Thanks. I should probably stay close to the phone just in case Lieutenant Baker calls back.

Erica: Are you sure that you're going to be okay by yourself?

Rick: Yeah, I'll be fine. I mean, it's not like I'm gonna run off and try and find Amber.

Erica: Look, Rick, I know that you want to help her.

Rick: Yes, I do. But I'm -- I'm beginning to wonder if amber needs a lot more help than I could ever give her.

Taylor: I'll go get the wine.

Ridge: I'll start the fire.

Taylor: Hmm-mm. We don't need any fire. It's hot enough in here. I'll be right back.

[ Door bell rings ]

Taylor:  Who could that be?

Ridge: I don't know, but let's get rid of them fast. Oh, hello?

Lt. Baker: Hello, Mr. Forrester. Sorry to disturb you.

Taylor: Lieutenant baker?

Lt. Baker: Good evening. May I come in?

Ridge: So, what kind of trouble is Amber in now?

Lt. Baker: Well, that's what I'm trying to determine.

Taylor: Do you need to talk to her right now?

Lt. Baker: Well, do you have any idea where she's gone?

Taylor: She hasn't gone anywhere. She's upstairs in her room.

Lt. Baker: She came back?

Ridge: What are you talking about?

Lt. Baker: Amber's tracking device was found in an alley less than an hour ago.

Taylor: She's not here?

Lt. Baker: You didn't notice she was missing?

Ridge: Lieutenant, we just got home.

Lt. Baker: You left her alone?

Taylor: Before we left, she promised she wouldn't go anywhere. I mean, she wouldn't do that. She knows what's at stake.

Lt. Baker: The judge has already issued a bench warrant.

Ridge: She jumped bail already?

Taylor: Okay, wait a minute. Wait a minute. There's something wrong. There's something definitely not right here. I know she's around here somewhere. Believe me, there's an explanation for this. Let me just go look in the kitchen and see if she left a note or something. Just

Sheila: It won't be long now, Amber. Well, by now the police have gone to Rick, and he knows you're gone. You can only imagine his disappointment. It's a good thing my daughter is there to comfort him. Now Rick -- he will give in to his feelings for Erica. With you out of their picture, there's no reason for him not to.

Amber: Can I have a glass of water?

Sheila: Is your mouth getting dry? Scary, isn't it? When everything you've worked so hard for your entire life is disappearing right in front of your eyes. Your family -- no!

[ Amber screaming ]

Sheila: What do you think you're doing?

Sheila: What the hell do you think you're doing?

Amber: Out of my way, I'm going home!

Sheila: No, you're not going anywhere!

[ Screaming and grunting ]

Sheila: Stupid move, Amber. I told you not to make me angry. You shouldn't have done that.

Lt. Baker: Mind if I look around?

Ridge: Help yourself. You don't think amber's here, do you?

Lt. Baker: She might have come back, but -- the condition she's probably in, it's highly unlikely.

Ridge: So you agree with my wife? You think something's happened to her?

Lt. Baker: You don't?

Ridge: I don't trust her, Lieutenant. I never have. Amber Moore is a walking catastrophe. Disaster follows her anywhere she goes. Now, unfortunately, she's brought all that into my home.

Lt. Baker: Was this bar in this condition when you left this evening?

Ridge: No, it wasn't.

Erica: You're angry with her.

Rick: No. I'm too tired for that. It's just been one thing after another for months. I'm exhausted, Erica -- emotionally and physically.

Erica: Well, then, Rick, you know what you need to do.

Rick: What?

Erica: What you promised me. That if Amber ever let you guys down again --

Rick: That it would be the last time.

Erica: Look, you said it yourself, you can't help her. So help yourself, Rick. Help your little boy. Put all this behind you and move on with your life. I should take him upstairs before he wakes up again.

Rick: Yeah, come here. All right. Come here, buddy. Your daddy loves you. And your mommy's gonna be fine, okay? I'll be up in a little bit to check on you. Here you go. He's sleepy.

Rick: How can this happen, Amber? How did everything get so messed up?

Taylor: What's going on?

Ridge: Did you find Amber?

Taylor: No, what's this?

Lt. Baker: Tequila.

Ridge: It's all over the place.

Lt. Baker: I don't see a Tequila bottle here. Is one missing?

Ridge: Yeah, it is.

Taylor: No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. Something is definitely wrong. Amber doesn't drink tequila.

Ridge: Oh, come on, doc. That's what she got blitzed on at dad's party.

Taylor: No, somebody wanted to make it look like she got drunk. You should check the glass, check for fingerprints or see if there's tranquilizers in that liquid or something.

Ridge: What are you saying? She was abducted?

Lt. Baker: Mrs. Forrester, I know that you're very close with Amber. You took a big risk just bringing her into your home.

Taylor: She didn't do this.

Lt. Baker: They found an empty bottle of Tequila with her tracking device. There were narcotics on the scene, too.

Ridge: Pills? Gee, go figure.

Lt. Baker: If you want this evidence tested, I can call an investigation team.

Ridge: Thank you, Lieutenant, I don't think that's gonna be necessary.

Lt. Baker: Every precinct's been alerted to Amber's disappearance. Don't worry, we will find her.

Ridge: She'll be arrested, won't she?

Lt. Baker: Well, if she needs medical care, we'll take her to a hospital first.

Taylor: Well, what can we do?

Lt. Baker: Just stay put. I don't need anyone else in this house acting foolish tonight.

Ridge: Don't worry about that.

Lt. Baker: Amber obviously depends on you, Mrs. Forrester. If she is in trouble, you may be the first person she calls.

Ridge: Well, if that's all, Lieutenant, I'll show you out.

Ridge: Good night.

[ phone ringing ]

Rick: Hello?

Taylor: Rick, it's Taylor.

Rick: Hey, have you heard from Amber? Did they find her?

Taylor: You haven't heard from her?

Rick: No. No, Lieutenant Baker said he would contact me as soon as he heard anything.

Taylor: Well, he just left here. Listen, Rick, there's something I really think you need to know.

Rick: What?

Taylor: Our tequila is missing from our bar. And he thinks she took it when she left.

Rick: I can't believe this.

Taylor: Neither do I. It doesn't make any sense. You saw how she was when she was here. I mean, she was a little bit upset, but she wasn't on the verge of going over the edge or anything.

Rick: Who knows what amber's gonna do anymore.

Taylor: Listen, I really think -- I think somebody is setting her up. This doesn't feel right.

Rick: No, it isn't right, Taylor! It's selfish! It's thoughtless! And it's completely self-destructive. And I don't know how much more of this I can take.

Taylor: Rick -- Rick, really, this is not her fault.

Rick: I don't care whose fault it is. I just want it to end!

Taylor: Look, I know you're scared. But just listen to what I'm trying to tell you --

Rick: No, listen, Taylor, okay. I understand that you're just trying to help, but I can't talk about this right now. Eric is upset. Lieutenant baker woke him up. And he's terrified that something has happened to his mother. And what do I tell him? I don't know where she is. I don't know what she's doing. I am doing my best to hold this family together. But damn it, Taylor, there is a limit.

Ridge: Has Rick heard from her?

Taylor: No.

Ridge: He must be pretty upset.

Taylor: He's furious.

Ridge: Can you blame him? Look, Amber's caught in some kind of self-destructive death spiral here. He's just afraid she's drag his whole family down with her.

Taylor: Ridge, there's something else going on here. I can feel it, all right? I mean, Amber's been here for a long time. She could've had liquor any time she wanted!

Ridge: Taylor, we haven't even left her alone before now.

Taylor: Well, maybe she wasn't alone. I really don't think she would have left this house unless she was forced to.

Ridge: Oh, come on. Kidnapping? Isn't that excuse getting a little old now?

Taylor: It is the only thing that makes sense.

Ridge: Taylor, nothing about Amber makes any sense. She's a paranoid, pill-popping criminal, that's all. Listen, I know you don't want to hear this because you still think you can help her. But you're wasting your time. You're gonna have to face this, Taylor. She's a lost cause. Not even Rick has any faith in her anymore.

[ Phone ringing ]

Sheila: Hello?

Erica: Mom, where is Amber?

Sheila: Don't worry about Amber, you concentrate on Rick. Amber's fine.

Erica: Look, I know she didn't run away. Is she there?

Sheila: I told you she's fine, Erica.

Erica: Mom, don't hurt her.

Sheila: I'm not. That's not what this is about. You just keep your eye on the prize, okay? Don't get distracted. You know what you have to do.

Erica: God, Mom, she is gonna tell Rick everything.

Sheila: No, it doesn't matter. You just stay focused. You help Rick get through this crisis. And tomorrow morning, you'll be pregnant with his child, and it won't matter what amber says to him. Oh, sweetheart -- sweetheart, tonight it could be the most important night of your life. Tonight, Rick is all yours. You get pregnant with his child, and the two of you are gonna have a bond that nobody can break. You'll be a part of that family forever.

[ Erica remembering ]

Sheila: Give Rick a child, you'll be a part of his family forever.
