Brooke: I'm getting married today. I am going to be Mrs. Whip Jones. I never thought it would come to this. I just never imagined. But I'm doing it for my daughter, and I'm doing it for my baby. What is the alternative?

[ Brooke sighs ] to run off with my daughter's husband? God help me, I want to.

[ Brooke sighs ] I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with you, deacon, and raise our child together. But I can't. I can't!

[ Knock at door ] come in.

Rick: Hey, mom. I brought you some tea.

Brooke: Oh? Thank you, honey.

Rick: So how did you sleep?

Brooke: I didn't.

Rick: You know, mom, I don't want to overstep my bounds here, but I have to ask -- are you sure about this?

Brooke: Yes. I am going to marry Whip Jones.

Deacon: You can't do this, Brooke. You can't marry this jerk. You are carrying my child. You love me. You belong with me.

Bridget: Deacon, hey. I have to go. I have a million things to do. I have to do my hair, my make-up, pick up mom's gown.

Deacon: I thought that we were going to go together?

Bridget: Oh, honey, I'm sorry. I can't wait. But I'll see you there, okay?

Deacon: Yeah.

Bridget: Sorry.

[ Phone rings ]

Deacon: Come on, come on. Pick up.

Rick: Hello?

Deacon: Rick?

Rick: Hey, Deacon. Yeah, yeah. Hang on. Mom, it's Deacon. He wants to ask you something.

Brooke: Well, tell him I can't talk right now. The guests should be arriving soon, and I really need to get ready.

Rick: Sorry, man, she can't talk right now. Is there something I can do for you? Okay. All right, yeah. Yeah, we'll, uh -- we'll see you in a little bit. Okay, bye.

Deacon: Damn it, Brooke! I know you're doing this to protect Bridget, but you can't -- this marriage is wrong. And I'm not going to let you do it.

Whip: Mother, please, I don't have time to argue about this, all right?

Joy: I'm not trying to start an argument. I just don't want you to get hurt. Whipple, I know how much you care about Brooke.

Whip: I love her, Mom, okay?

Joy: That's what scares me. You are a generous, caring, wonderful man. Any woman would be lucky to have you as a husband. I just don't think she's prepared to make that kind of commitment. I'm sorry, honey. I know you want to be there for Brooke and her baby. But I can't ignore what I saw at that party. She's not ready. She's going to let you down, whip. Brooke Logan is not ready to exchange those vows.

Whip: Brooke will be fine.

Joy: Brooke is in love with another man.

Whip: Yes, a man that she can't have.

Joy: Son, you don't have to settle for this. You deserve a woman who adores you, someone who appreciates you.

Whip: Okay, listen, I've got to go.

Joy: Wait, wait. Just listen to me --

Whip: Mom, you're not going to talk me out of this, okay? Brooke needs me. Bridget, this baby, all of the Forresters -- I'm not going to let them down, and neither is Brooke. Look, I know that this is going to be a difficult day for her, but once she gets over this hurdle, the rest of her life is going to be terrific. I'm going to make sure of that, okay? I'll see you at the wedding.

Rick: You know what, buddy? Mommy's not feeling very good today, so we have to be on our best behavior. Is that cool?

Florist: Sir, we're almost finished. These are for the bride and her attendants.

Rick: All right, cool. Thank you very much.

Florist: You're welcome.

Rick: You just leave them right there.

Florist: Okay, great.

Rick: Cool.

Florist: Thank you.

Rick: Hey.

Amber: I'm going upstairs. It's too hectic down here.

Rick: Okay. Well, here, wait. Take Eric with you, all right?

Amber: Okay. Come here, baby. Come on. Let's go take a nap.

Rick: No, no, wait a minute. You can't. You guys have to get ready.

Amber: Fine. Here. You watch him. I'm going to take a nap.

Rick: No, wait a minute, Amber. Eric has to get dressed. Amber, come on! You have to get Eric ready!

Erica: I can take care of that.

Rick: Oh, Erica, thank god you're here.

Brooke: Oh, Deacon. How did this happen to us? I thought it was over, baby we said our good-byes but I can't go a day without your face going in my mind in fact not a single minute passes without you in it your voice, your touch you reserve your love are with me all of the time so let me let go, baby let me let go if this is for the best why are you still in my heart? Are you still in my soul? Let me let go let me let go

[ Brooke sobs ]

Stephanie: Now stop this blubbering. I mean it. You've got to get a grip. What would Bridget do if she walked in here and saw you like this?

Brooke: Just leave me alone, Stephanie!

Stephanie: No, I am not going to leave you alone! If you're having second thoughts about this, you'd better think again.

Deacon: My god, look at this place. I've got to find Brooke. I've got to put a stop to this.

Rick: Hey, Deacon, Mr. Best man! What's up, dude? You're early.

Deacon: Uh -- hey, listen, has whip shown up yet?

Rick: No. He's on his way, but, uh, you need to get ready. Your tuxedo's upstairs. I'll show you where to get dressed, okay?

Deacon: Okay, yeah.

Whip: Wow.

[ Whip sighs ] uh, this is it -- the start of our new life together, Brooke. Just you, me and the baby. This is where it all begins -- right here, today.

Rick: You guys can play in the other room during the ceremony. If he gets hungry, there's snacks in his bag. And don't go into the kitchen, because the caterers are working. Oh, and if he asks for Amber --

Erica: Mommy's tired, and she'll play with him later.

Rick: Right.

Erica: She's still not feeling well?

Rick: No. I don't know what's going on. You know, I thought she was improving, but last night -- she doesn't normally act like this. She's going through a tough time.

Erica: I know. This whole thing has been hard for all of you. But you will get through it.

Rick: I just want to get through today.

Erica: Look, don't worry. Everything is going to be fine. And I will do whatever I can to help you. I'm here for you, Rick.

Deacon: What the hell am I doing? I can't put this thing on. I got to find Brooke. I got to stop this thing.

Whip: Whoa! Hey! There's my best man. Hi, Deacon. How are you doing? Going somewhere?

Brooke: Oh, just go away, Stephanie. Leave me alone!

Stephanie: Do you think that I enjoy seeing you this way, feeling sorry for yourself, longing for Deacon? I mean, this whole thing is just sick.

Brooke: You don't understand. What deacon and I share is not sick. He loves me.

Stephanie: Brooke, he's your daughter's husband.

Brooke: I am aware of that!

Stephanie: Then why can't you accept the reality of it?

Brooke: What, do I have a choice?!

Stephanie: Yes, of course! We all have choices in life, don't we?! You have a chance to redeem yourself. What, am I supposed to be your conscience? Am I supposed to protect your family as well as my own?

Brooke: Of course not, Stephanie. This has nothing to do with you. This is my problem!

Stephanie: Well, then deal with it like an adult.

Brooke: I am trying!

Stephanie: You're trying?! Your daughter gave you an engagement party, and what did you do?! You spent the entire evening sneaking around with her husband.

Brooke: Oh, my god. We didn't do anything, Stephanie. We were just talking.

Stephanie: Talking? Just talking? Let's see. What could you possibly have been talking -- oh, I know, the seating arrangement for the reception. No, he's trying to talk you into telling Bridget that you're carrying his child, isn't he? And you are considering it, aren't you? Aren't you?

Brooke: Stephanie, this marriage is a sham. I don't love whip. I hardly even know him. Don't you see? We'll just be piling lies on top of lies, and that is not right. God, there has to be some other way, some other answer.

Stephanie: Some other answer? There isn't any other answer. You either marry whip, or you lose your daughter.

Whip: Well, come on, bartender, time's a' wasting. Let's get dressed.

Deacon: Tell you what. Why don't you -- you go ahead. I've got something I've got to take care of.

Whip: Oh, I'm sure you do, but you're not going anywhere. You're going to stay right beside me until Brooke says, I do.

Deacon: Good. Come in. Give us a chance to talk alone for a minute. You know that she's not going to go through with this, don't you?

Whip: Well, if you were so sure about that, you wouldn't be on your way out that door.

Deacon: You know, if it wasn't for the fact that I simply can't stand you, I'd actually feel badly for you -- marrying a woman that not only doesn't love you but who probably never will.

Whip: Well, the jury's still out on that one, buddy. But she does love and care about her daughter, Bridget. And she's not going to let anything or anybody jeopardize that relationship. So why don't you lose the attitude and get dressed?

[ Knock at door ]

Bridget: Knock, knock. Everybody decent?

Whip: Yeah, yeah. Hey, Bridget.

Bridget: Hi.

Whip: We were -- we were just talking about you.

Bridget: You were? Well, that's funny. My ears weren't burning.

Whip: Well, your cheeks would be if you'd heard what this guy was saying about you.

Bridget: Deacon -- what did you say?

Whip: Why don't I let you lovebirds discuss this in private, huh? Bridget, maybe you can get my best man out of his clothes.

Bridget: Ooh, that would be my pleasure, sir.

Whip: You behave, all right?

[ Bridget laughs ]

Bridget: All right, sweetie. Let's get your tux on. You're going to look so handsome.

Brooke: I'm not going to lose Bridget. I can't.

Stephanie: Then you're going to have to walk down that aisle.

Brooke: And then what, Stephanie? Then what am I going to do? How many lies do you want me to tell?

Stephanie: I want you to do the right thing by her. I want you to show some integrity.

Brooke: By deceiving my child?

Stephanie: I want you to put her first. I don't want you to put her through another one of your scandals. I mean, that's the whole reason that you're marrying Whip -- to keep this secret from her. That hasn't changed. That's never going to change.

[ Knock at door ]

Whip: Hey. Hey, is everything all right?

Brooke: Whip, I need to talk to you.

Stephanie: No, there's nothing to talk about. You're getting married.

Brooke: No, this is not your decision to make!

Stephanie: I know it's not. It's yours. And you've made it, and you've got to stick with it.

Whip: You're having second thoughts?

Brooke: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what to think. I -- I just don't know what to feel anymore.

Whip: Look, it's all right. You know, you're just nervous, okay? I am, too. This is a big step for both of us, all right? But it's the right one, for everybody. Come on, you'll see.

Brooke: And what if it doesn't work? And what if these feelings that I have for deacon never go away?

Whip: They will.

Brooke: How do you know?

Whip: Because I'm not going to give up until they do. Brooke, I am going to make you happy, all right -- happier than you can even imagine right now. You just have to trust me. I'm not going to let you down. I'm not going to let this family down.

Stephanie: Listen to him, please.

Brooke: Oh, you stay out of it!

Whip: Come on, come on. Stephanie's not the enemy here, okay?

[ Brooke scoffs ] she wants the same things that we do.

Brooke: No, no, she wants to destroy me.

Stephanie: No, I don't. No, I don't! I'm just -- I'm thinking about your daughter, and that's what you've got to do.

Whip: Yes, and Bridget is fine, okay? She is on top of the world.

Brooke: Is she here?

Whip: Yeah, she's helping deacon put his tux on right now. And I'm sure she's going to want to come in here and see you soon. Listen to me. I need you to focus, all right? Remember, why you're doing this -- for Bridget, for this baby. All right? You're giving them a life free of scandal, a life without shame. Brooke, you can do this, all right? I'm going to help you. We're in this together. But I need to know you're ready. Tell me you're with me.

[ Knock on the door ]

Minister: Ms. Logan? Oh, I'm sorry. I'm interrupting.

Stephanie: No, no, that's all right. Reverend Johnson, what is it?

Minister: Rick wanted me to let you know the guests are arriving. The ceremony should be starting soon.

Bridget: Hey, Thorne.

Thorne: Oh, my.

[ Bridget laughs ]

Bridget: Oh, Mrs. Jones, you look so lovely.

Joy: Thank you.

Rick: Welcome, you guys. You're the first ones to arrive.

Thorne: Well, not by much. Ridge and Taylor are outside, and dad just pulled up.

Bridget: Oh, man, I'm still waiting on mom's dress. Forrester was supposed to drop it off.

Rick: No, no, no, don't worry about it. I just talked to the driver. He's on his way.

Bridget: Okay. Stephanie, I didn't know you were here.

Stephanie: I was just upstairs talking to your mother. Hi, darling.

Bridget: Hi. Well, you know what? She must be worried about her gown. I'm going to go tell her it's coming.

Whip: No, no. No, no, Bridget, that's okay. She's just finishing putting on her makeup. Why don't you give her a couple of minutes, and then you can bring her the dress when it arrives.

Bridget: Okay.

Whip: Hey, Thorne, how you feeling?

Thorne: Great.

Rick: Whip, it's the big day. How you feeling, buddy?

Whip: Rick, I couldn't be better.

[ Brooke sighs ] [Deacon enters]

Deacon: I won't let you do this. I am not going to let you go.
