Stephanie: That's not going to happen.

Eric: You're living with him! You're living with him, and Ridge is working for him. And you're asking me not to worry? You're telling me that everything's gonna work out?

Stephanie: It will.

Eric: How? I would like you to explain that to me. How in the world is this separation gonna benefit our family? I'd like to know the answer to that. Why are you living with Massimo?

Erica: Keep searching. Somebody has to know something.

Alisa: She's fine, Erica. See -- "Ambrosia Forrester is in good condition at the cedar-Sinai medical center."

Erica: "Good"? She's in the hospital, Alisa.

Alisa: Yeah, but she's not critical. It's probably nothing. You know these celebrities. They get rushed to the ICU if they have a hangnail.

Erica: That's not funny! This is serious. Amber's pregnant.

Alisa: Come on. Let's go to the mall. I mean, I'm sure it'll be all over the news by the time we get back.

Erica: I can't just hang around here. I have to do something.

Alisa: Great, so let's go.

Erica: No, Ali. I have to get out of here -- out of mystic. I have to go to L.A.

Dr. Wilson: Now, Amber, I really need you to rest. It's very important.

Rick: She's not comfortable, Dr. Wilson. She's complaining about pain.

Dr. Wilson: The nurse didn't administer your medication?

Amber: I need more. It still hurts.

Dr. Wilson: All right. We'll try something else. I'll get you something stronger.

Amber: Thank you.

Dr. Wilson: I have another patient to see, but I'll be back later.

Rick: Thanks. Don't worry, honey. You'll feel better soon, okay?

Taylor: Hi, Rick -- Amber.

Rick: What are you doing here?

Ridge: We came to offer our condolences.

Taylor: May we come in for just a minute?

Rick: Just for a minute, okay? Amber needs her rest.

Taylor: Sweetie, how are you doing?

Amber: Tired. I'm tired.

Ridge: Thorne told us what happened.

Taylor: We are so very sorry about your loss.

Ridge: It's a terrible thing, we know.

Taylor: And we want you to know, if you need anything --

Rick: We'll be fine, thank you.

Taylor: You can't do it by yourselves. You're going to need some kind of support.

Amber: You want to support us?

Taylor: Amber, you are our family.

Rick: And Forresters always stick together in a time of crisis.

Ridge: Look, Rick, we just came by to tell you how sorry we are, okay?

Taylor: Look, no matter what's happened between the two of you, you're still brothers. Nothing's changed.

Ridge: I know -- I know how badly you wanted that child.

Rick: More than anything in the world. Amber, honey, are you okay?

Amber: It hurts. Could you please go ask the doctor to give me some more pills?

Rick: Just relax, okay? I'll take care of it.

Ridge: We better go.

Taylor: I'd like to have just a minute to talk to Amber, if that's okay with you.

Rick: I'll be right back. Coming, Ridge?

Ridge: Amber, again, we're very sorry.

Eric: I deserve an explanation, Stephanie. Why are you doing this to us?

Stephanie: Eric, I would never deliberately do something to harm the family. Why can't you just trust that?

Eric: Well, you are harming the family. Our children may be grown, but it affects them. Their parents have split up. They've lost their brother.

Stephanie: Oh, Eric, they haven't lost Rdge and neither have you. And you never will, ever. Now, I may not be living with you, and ridge may not be working with you at the company, but you're in our hearts. And we're in yours. Look, this is just something I have to do.

Eric: For the family?

Stephanie: Yes. I don't expect you to understand it --

Eric: Look, we're just talking in circles here. I don't want to do that anymore. This is our life. This is our family. And I'm not gonna let you just throw it away without some kind of an explanation. Now, if you want to live with Massimo, I want to know why. I want you to be honest. Whatever it is, whatever your explanation, I want to know.

Massimo: Hello. Well, it seems I got here right on cue. It's all right, Stephanie. Go ahead, I don't mind hearing this myself.

Alisa: Erica, this is nuts. You can't go to L.A.

Erica: My plane ticket's waiting at the check-in counter.

Alisa: Your mother's gonna kill you. It will go on her credit card.

Erica: She's not even gonna get the bill until next month.

Alisa: And by then you'll be back?

Erica: No. I'm not coming back. This is it. I'm finally blowing this sleepy town.

Alisa: You've been saying that for years.

Erica: Yeah, well, now, I'm actually gonna do it. I'm really gonna do it.

Alisa: Because amber Forrester's in the hospital?

Erica: Because it's time, Alisa.

Alisa: Time for what?

Erica: Time for me to grab my destiny -- the way that amber did. She didn't just wait around Furnace Creek, waiting for her dreams to roll through with the tumbleweeds. She went to L.A., And she made them come true.

Alisa: Amber's a Forrester. She's a celebrity.

Erica: She didn't used to be. She was just like us. And I think that deep down, she still is.

Alisa: You're gonna go to the hospital. You're going to try to meet her. You are!

Erica: I'm through waiting for someday, Alisa. This is my dream, and I'm gonna make it happen -- tonight.

Ridge: Look, Rick, if there's anything Taylor and I can do --

Rick: Ridge, I appreciate you coming down here and making an appearance. But it's not necessary. We don't need anything from you guys.

Ridge: Rick, I'm a father, too. I remember how excited I was when I found out Taylor was pregnant with our twins. And how scared I was at the possibility of losing them.

Rick: You know, I keep thinking about this morning. And then I never would have imagined -- you know, everything was going so well. Amber was thrilled about the collection. She was so proud, and she wanted to do everything by herself.

Ridge: Well, maybe she shouldn't have.

Rick: Well, maybe she wouldn't have if you would have been there to help her.

Ridge: Excuse me?

Rick: You think Amber deserves this for stepping on your toes?

Ridge: No, Rick, I don't.

Rick: You know what, Ridge? Just get out of here.

Ridge: Oh, now you're being ridiculous, Rick. I didn't come here to gloat.

Rick: Well, you certainly didn't come here to apologize!

Ridge: Apologize for what? Listen to me, I sympathize with what you're going through here, and I feel really badly about your baby. But my objective is still the same. It hasn't changed.

Rick: Oh, and what's that, Ridge? What are you gonna do?

Ridge: I'm not gonna stand here and talk about this with you -- not here, not now. If you'd just be kind enough to tell Taylor I'll be in the car. And I'll see you around.

Taylor: Amber, I'm here if you need someone to talk to.

Amber: There's nothing to talk about. The doctor says I need my rest.

Taylor: Oh, I don't want to disturb you. I know this has been a very, very difficult day for you. Actually, I think you're handling it very well. A lot of people would be overwhelmed by grief and a lot of guilt.

Amber: Stephanie said it wasn't my fault.

Taylor: And she's right. It wasn't. Does Rick agree?

Amber: Yes.

Taylor: And you? Amber?

Amber: These things happen.

Taylor: And somehow you get through them.

Amber: I've done it before.

Taylor: Mm-hmm, except this time, you have the support of your husband and his whole family. We all love you, Amber. But you know what? Before you know it, you'll be back on your feet, designing a loss, but you have so much to look forward to. You should be so proud.

Amber: "Proud"? I should be "proud"? I just lost my baby! Who cares about my damn collection! My baby is dead!

Stephanie: Mass, what are you doing here?

Massimo: I heard what happened. I'm very sorry for your family's loss.

Eric: Then you won't mind leaving, letting us deal with it.

Massimo: Of course not. I don't mean to interfere. I'll tell my driver to wait downstairs. Whenever you're ready, Stephanie.

Eric: You're not leaving with him.

Stephanie: Oh, Eric --

Eric: Not tonight!

Stephanie: -- We've been through all of this.

Eric: Stephanie, please, now, come on. This is enough. Now, look, I know I have made mistakes. I have not been the perfect husband. He keeps throwing that in my face, but you know me better. And you know that I love you. And I know you love me. I can see that in your eyes.

Stephanie: It's been a long day. We're both exhausted.

Eric: No, Stephanie, no, no. Don't do this. The family needs you. I need you.

Stephanie: I'll call you tomorrow.

Eric: Stephanie, don't -- please, please.

Erica: Good. I knew she'd be asleep in her chair.

Alisa: If she catches you, she'll go ballistic.

Erica: She won't wake up. She's been pulling double shifts all week. Come on, let's go. I don't want to miss my flight.

Alisa: Okay, I'll go get my car.

Erica: I'm sorry, mom. I have to go. I have to get out of here. I'm going to L.A.

Taylor: It's okay. It's okay to admit it hurts.

Amber: Get out!

Taylor: Amber, you need to deal with these emotions.

Amber: I don't want to talk about it.

Taylor: Amber, I know you don't want to feel these feelings. Losing a child is the most devastating thing that can happen to a mother. Good lord, you've been through it twice.

Amber: Go, I need to sleep.

Taylor: Believe me, you don't want to go through this alone.

Amber: You don't know what I'm going through. You have no idea what this is like. Nobody does.

Taylor: I am a psychiatrist.

Amber: And I'm not crazy, Taylor.

Taylor: Well, that's my point exactly. That's what I'm trying to help you see, Amber -- that this reaction that you're having, all of these feelings that you're having are completely normal. Nobody wants to feel pain. Amber -- Amber, you just lost! But, amber, you have to remember get in, nothing can get out. All that pain stays trapped in there with you -- all that suffering and all that guilt stays with you. You can't live like that, sweetheart. You have to face it. You have to face the situation.

Amber: I can't. I can't.

Taylor: Why not?

Amber: It's too awful.

Taylor: Honey, it's already awful, whether you face it or not.

Amber: Then what's the point? Nothing's gonna change. Nothing's gonna change. I thought it was gonna be different this time, but it's not. It's not because I didn't change.

Taylor: Yes, you have.

Amber: No. No, I didn't. I did it again. Taylor, I messed up. I messed up, and I let my baby down. I let her die.

[ Amber sobbing ]

Erica: This is it. Here I go. Good-bye, Mystic, hello, L.A. Don't worry, Amber. I'm coming. Help is on the way.
