Rick: Here you go.
Rick: Hey, have you talked to Mom lately?
Rick: Well, maybe you should. Maybe you should talk some sense into her. The way she's been going on and on about Deacon, I swear, it's reminding me of Amber.
Thorne: How is that going?
Rick: Me and Amber? It's okay, I guess. You know, she's still living here.
Thorne: Hey, you made the right decision, okay? I know it was difficult, but you've got to think about your children.
Rick: I'm trying, Thorne. But every time I look at Amber, I see her in Deacon's arms, kissing him. And what am I supposed to do about that? You know, she wants me to get over it, but -- what if I can't?
Thorne: Give yourself some time, okay? I mean, you don't have to do anything right now.
Rick: That's exactly it, Thorne. I haven't done anything. Our sister has been married to this creep for months, and I just let it slide.
Thorne: Well, fortunately, Deacon's taking care of that. He's asking Bridget for a divorce.
Bridget: Hey, Amber. Is Rick around?
Amber: Hey. No, he's talking to Thorne in the other room.
Bridget: Oh, okay. Don't bother him. He just left a message on my cell. Can you just tell him that I'm up in Big Bear, and I'll call him later?
Amber: What are you doing up there?
Bridget: Oh, it was Deacon's idea. He wants to tell me something. He's being all mysterious about it.
Amber: And you don't know what it is?
Bridget: Well, I'm starting to get an idea. Deacon is so funny. He comes off as this straight-shooting tough guy, but the minute he has something important to say, he just totally clams up. You should see him. He's a nervous wreck.
Amber: You don't sound very concerned.
Bridget: I'm ready, Amber. The last time we discussed it, I wasn't. I was scared. I didn't think I could handle it. Now, I think I can.
Amber: So you're prepared now?
Bridget: I guess you can never really be prepared for something like this, but if Deacon wants to have a baby, I'm all for it.
Amber: A baby?
Bridget: [Laughs] Timing's perfect, don't you think? If I get pregnant now, our kids will be the same age. They can grow up together, go to school together. It will be great. Anyway, I'd better get back in there. Wish me luck.
Amber: Good luck, Bridget. Poor kid. She's going to need it.
Deacon: This is it, Bridget. I'm sorry. I don't want to hurt you. This marriage is a mistake, and tonight, I have to correct it.
Bridget: Oh, my God! Look at this. It's beautiful. I have married the sweetest guy in the whole world.
Tony: Well, we don't have much time. My parents are going to be back from their walk on the beach any moment.
Kristen: Well, Tony, I think we should just tell them the truth.
Tony: I agree. It's just -- I don't want to just blurt it out. "Mommy, Pappy, I'm HIV positive." That's going to kill them.
Kristen: Tony, you wanted to get this over with. I think we should just stick with the plan. We'll tell them tonight.
Tony: I know. I agree. It's just -- I would like them to get to know you first, you know, sit down with you and have a conversation.
Kristen: I hope we hit it off.
Tony: Oh, you'll hit it off. It's the only thing we don't have to worry about tonight.
Liliana: Hola, Tony. We're back.
Tony: Mommy, Pappy. Mi fiancÚ, Kristen Forrester.
Liliana: Kristen, you're more beautiful than your photographs.
Kristen: Oh, I like you already.
Eduardo: We feel we already know you.
Liliana: Tony has sent us so many letters about you.
Eduardo: Yes. We've been spending all afternoon talking about you.
Liliana: Eduardo --
Eduardo: It's true. Sally Spectra spoke very highly of you.
Kristen: Coming from Sally, that's quite a compliment. If she spoke highly of me, I can only imagine how she spoke of your son.
Liliana: Oh, she's very proud of Tony.
Kristen: I'm sure you are, too, sir.
Eduardo: Si. Tony is a very talented man. He has had great success in business, and now, thanks to you, you have great success in life.
Tony: See, my father believes that a man's worth should be valued more by his family than his career.
Kristen: My father would agree with you, sir.
Liliana: Yes, but I believe that for a man to have a very strong family, he's got to have a very strong wife.
Kristen: And my mother would agree with you.
Eduardo: They must be wonderful people to have raised such a lovely daughter.
Kristen: Oh, thank you.
Liliana: No, thank you, Kristen. You have made our son so happy.
Kristen: Well, he has done the same for me.
Liliana: Look at you two. You remind me of Eduardo and myself when we were married -- so young, so much to look forward to, and not a care in the world.
Thorne: What? You don't really believe that deacon's going to break up with Bridget?
Rick: And give up the good life? Her money, her beach house? No way, Thorne. No way. He would be crazy to walk away from her.
Amber: Rick? Sorry to interrupt, but I think you should call Bridget.
Rick: Why? What's wrong?
Amber: Well, she's at the cabin with Deacon, and she thinks he's gonna ask her to have a baby.
Rick: Oh, no way is Bridget getting pregnant.
Amber: Well, that's what she's ready to do.
Rick: That bastard. I knew it. I knew it. Everything that he told Mom was a lie.
Amber: No, Rick. Deacon doesn't want to have a baby. He wants a divorce.
Bridget: Honey, you didn't have to do all of this.
Deacon: Yeah, i did.
Bridget: But you never make me dinner.
Deacon: I know, and I'm sorry about that, you know. I guess I haven't been too domestic, have I?
Bridget: Big deal. So you can't cook.
Deacon: What? Did you just say that I can't -- ? Stay there. Don't move.
Deacon: All righty. Tada! Huh?
Bridget: Wow! Macaroni and cheese!
Deacon: Secret recipe. Ma'am, your chair awaits.
Bridget: Wow, thank you.
Deacon: Okay, ladies first, right? Okay.
Bridget: Deacon, what's going on? I know you want to tell me something, so why don't you just say it? You don't have to butter me up. Go ahead. I'm ready. Let me have it.
Rick: You really think Deacon wants a divorce?
Amber: Yes, and he's going to tell her tonight.
Rick: Have you been talking to my mother?
Amber: No. I just got off the phone with Bridget.
Thorne: I don't understand. Where did Bridget get the idea that Deacon wants to have a baby.
Amber: Because Deacon said he wanted to talk to her about something important. You know, you have to call her and warn her, Rick.
Rick: You know what? If you're so convinced that Deacon wants out, why don't you warn her yourself?
Amber: Like she'd believe it if it was coming from me. Maybe if it was coming from you she would.
Rick: No, no. You know what? I don't buy it. He has pulled this stunt before.
Amber: No, this is not a stunt. He's really going to do it.
Rick: Why? He knows that you're pregnant.
Thorne: Yeah. He knows that you two are going to stay together.
Amber: Okay, this has nothing to do with me. This is about Bridget. He doesn't want to ruin her life, and he feels like this marriage is holding her back.
Rick: Man, this guy is good. What did he do, hire a publicist? He's got everybody talking about him like he's some kind of saint.
Amber: This is not a joke. It's true. Deacon is going to end his marriage to Bridget tonight. It's going to happen, Rick. He told me himself.
Bridget: Come on. Don't keep me in suspense.
Deacon: I'm not trying to drag this out, I promise. I just -- I want to get this right. I want you to understand. I don't want you to be upset.
Bridget: I'm not going to be upset.
Deacon: Yeah, you are. You've got every right to be. Bridget,I should have told you this a long time ago.
Bridget: Deacon, it's okay. I know what you're trying to tell me.
Deacon: You do?
Bridget: It's pretty obvious. I mean, you bring me up here. It's private. There's no interruptions. No unexpected visitors. You want talk. You made me this wonderful dinner. And now, you're so nervous you can barely speak.
Deacon: I'm not nervous. I just --
Bridget: It's okay. I understand. This is a difficult subject for you.
Deacon: God, I care about you so much. I don't want to mess up your life. You've got so much drive and so much potential. You're so intelligent, Bridget. It's just -- Ii think you could do anything you want to do.
Bridget: Then what makes you think I can't handle this?
Deacon: I know how important our marriage is to you. We've been living together for a couple of months now, and we've fallen into this routine, you know? I mean, it's comfortable, and it's safe, but that's not what marriage is about.
Bridget: You want to give me more than that.
Bridget: But you haven't brought this up because you don't know how I'll react.
Deacon: No, there's more to it than that. I mean, it's me, too. I -- I don't think that I was ready for it, either.
Bridget: Honey, I know. I know you have your own issues to deal with, and you just wanted to be a good father to little D, and then, my family took him away from you. God, of course you have doubts. You wonder if you can do this. I think you can. You are going to be a wonderful dad to our child.
Bridget: Look, I know I said that I wasn't ready for this and that I wanted to concentrate on school, but you know what? My marriage comes first. And if you want to start a family, I want that, too.
Deacon: Bridget, no. I didn't bring you up here to discuss having a baby. I brought you up here to talk about the future of our relationship.
Eduardo: We assume you'll be having the wedding in Los Angeles.
Liliana: But after the wedding, will you be staying here, or -- ?
Tony: Well, of course. I mean, this is where I work.
Eduardo: Forgive her, Tony. She dreams of the day when she will have all her children return to Miami so she can gather up all her grandchildren and spoil them rotten.
Liliana: I want them to know their abuela Liliana. What's wrong with that?
Eduardo: So Tony tells us you recently reunited with your family. Your parents must be so pleased to have you back in their lives.
Kristen: Yes. Yes, they are. It's been a wonderful experience for all of us.
Liliana: And now, you're getting married. How exciting for them.
Eduardo: They are excited?
Tony: Not exactly.
Liliana: You do have their blessing, right?
Tony: No, Mommy, we don't.
Kristen: My family is against our marriage. My father forbids it.
Eduardo: You are getting married without your family's permission?!
Tony: Pappy, we're adults. We made our own decision.
Liliana: Tony, why do they forbid it?
Eduardo: Is it my son? Is he not good enough for your family?
Eduardo: Is it because he is Hispanic?
Tony: No, Pappy. The Forresters aren't like that.
Eduardo: Well, what else can it be? What is the problem here?!
Liliana: Eduardo, calm down.
Eduardo: No. I want to know what is going on, all right? Tell me. Why haven't the Forresters given you their blessing?
Tony: It's not them, Pappy. It's me. I'm --
Liliana: What is it, Antonio? What is it?
Rick: Deacon told you that he's going to divorce Bridget?
Rick: You saw him?
Amber: Well, when he missed his last visit with Eric, and he didn't return my phone calls, I went over to the beach house.
Rick: I told you to let me handle Eric's visitation.
Amber: Please, okay? I'm telling you. Bridget has no idea this is about to happen. She thinks that he wants to have a baby. Rick, you have to do something.
Rick: Like what.
Amber: I don't know. Go over there. Call her on her cell phone. Talk to Deacon. She's not ready for this. It's going to completely blindside her.
Thorne: Amber's right. You know how Bridget is. If she's all revved up about good news, this could --
Amber: Your remember what happened last time she got a surprise like this.
Rick: If Deacon wants to divorce Bridget, I'm not going to stop him. I say good riddance. I just hope she's mature enough to handle this.
Bridget: You don't want to have a baby?
Bridget: Oh. God. You must thinkI such an idiot.
Deacon: Baby, hey, this is my fault. I never should have been this mysterious about everything.
Bridget: You just -- I thought -- you've been so serious all day. I assumed you wanted to discuss something important.
Deacon: You're disappointed?
Bridget: No. No, actually, I guess I'm kind of relieved. I've been thinking about cutting back my schedule at school. I thought, you know, we could spend more time together, just the two of us. We haven't really had a chance to do that since we got married.
Deacon: I don't want you to cut back your schedule.
Bridget: Well, honey, it's okay. I don't mind.
Deacon: I mind. Bridget, I mind. I would never forgive myself if I thought that you blew a shot to medical school.
Bridget: Deacon, you're my husband. I made a commitment to you. That's my number one priority.
Deacon: Your future is my number one priority, and I'm not going to let you blow it on a loser like me.
Bridget: You are not a loser.
Deacon: You are -- you are so amazing. You always see the good in everything don't you? In me, in our marriage. Bridget, living with you has been like this incredible experience. I mean, getting to know you has been a gift. I've learned from you by example. I've learned about -- about integrity. I've learned about honesty. You see, now it's time for me to be honest with you. I care about you a lot. You hold this little piece of my heart, and you always will, but I don't want you to change your plans. I don't want you to give up on your dreams. I want you to reach for them. I don't want to stand in your way. I want to give you the freedom to do that. I don't want to have a baby with you. I'm sorry. I don't want to hurt you, but I can't do this anymore. I just can't. I want a divorce.
