Kristen: No, Dad, I don't owe you an explanation. My relationship with Tony is between Tony and me.

Eric: Kristen, the man is HIV positive.

Kristen: Thank you. I'm aware of that.

Stephanie: How long has this been going on?

Kristen: Oh, just since Dad kicked in Tony's door.

Stephanie: Oh, Eric, you didn't?

Eric: Stephanie, I found them in each other's arms, half-naked on the couch.

Stephanie: Is this true?

[Knock at door]

Tony: Kristen? Oh, it's you.

Sally: Yeah, it's me. Muchas Gracias for the great greeting.

Tony: I'm sorry, Sally. It's -- what are you doing here?

Sally: I'm taking care of business. What about you? You know, it's harder and harder to talk to you at the office. I mean, it's been several days since I've spoken to my best new designer, so I thought I'd come over here for some creative talk.

Tony: Not tonight, Sally. It's late. I'm tired.

Sally: What's the matter? Aren't you feeling well?

Tony: I just want to be alone, all right, Sally?

Sally: No. No, that's not all right, Antonio. It's not all right for you to be alone. I've told you before, and I will tell you again, I am here for you. If you are having any kind of difficulties, creative or otherwise, you come to me, and I will help you. And if your medical condition is getting worse, you tell me about it.

Tony: Look, Sally, it's nothing to do with my condition. It's Kristen. She was here tonight.

Sally: Kristen? Well, that's good, isn't it? That's wonderful.

Tony: Yeah, it was, until her father showed up and kicked the door in. After what he saw tonight, I don't think he's ever going to let me near his daughter again.

Beth: Stephen, where have you been?

Stephen: Hey, come on over here. I want to show you something.

Beth: What? What is it?

Stephen: Look out there.

Beth: Where?

Stephen: What do you see? Across the street.

Beth: Where?

Stephen: There. The car.

Beth: Oh, that little red sports car?

Stephen: Yeah. We own it. [Stephen laughs]

Beth: That must have cost a fortune.

Stephen: It did. And check this out. I know how much you love Tuscany. Come on.

Beth: Stephen, don't tell me you bought a house.

Stephen: No, no, I didn't, but we can. You just pick out the one you want.

Beth: So I'm supposed to feel good about lying to our daughter because it made us rich?

Stephen: Massimo Marone made us rich.

Beth: He gave us money to keep Brooke away from Ridge.

Stephen: To keep her away from a married man with a wife and three children. Look, Ridge does not want to be with her. He's happy where he is. And now, we have to help Brooke find her own happiness here in Paris.

Beth: But she isn't happy here, Stephen. She thinks her father is dying of a terminal illness. She's thousands of miles away from her -- her children, her family, her -- her home. Brooke is miserable, Stephen.

Brooke: Mom, I'm back. I got everything.

[Door closes]

Brooke: Dad, I thought you were lying down.

Stephen: Uh, I couldn't sleep. I guess I was just too excited about you being here, so I took a walk.

Brooke: Did you go with him, Mom?

Beth: No. He snuck out.

Brooke: Dad, you can't be wandering around the city alone. What if you got disoriented, or, my God, what if you collapsed? We wouldn't know where to find you, where you were.

Stephen: It's -- it's all right. It's all right. I'm back here, fine, safe and sound. Oh, look, sit down here. I want to talk to you about something.

Brooke: What? What is it?

Stephen: Um, I ran into a realtor friend of mine this morning who said there are some great apartments available in this area right now.

Brooke: Well, Dad, I haven't really decided what I was going to do yet. I just thought I'd stay with you for a while.

Stephen: Of course, and that's fine, it's just I think you ought to consider something more permanent.

Brooke: I understand. You need me here.

Stephen: Well, it wouldn't be just for me, honey. I think it's what's best for you, too. Look, you have to get over L.A. Meet some new people. Make a fresh start, away from the Forrester's, especially Ridge.

Brooke: Dad, I don't think we should be talking about this right now. I think you need to get some rest.

Stephen: Well, I don't think I'm gonna be able to rest until this -- this man is out of your life. He's no good for you, baby. You have to get over this obsession.

Brooke: Dad, it's not an obsession!

Stephen: It's not healthy, Brooke. Look, honey, you're an intelligent woman. He's a married man. Whatever you had with him, it's over now. It's time to move on.

Brooke: Dad, I told you I don't think we should talk about this.

Stephen: Well, I don't want to either. I just wish to God you'd gotten this man out of your life years ago.

Brooke: I've tried. Don't you understand? Ridge Forrester is the only man I have ever truly loved. I'm sorry, Dad. I don't want to argue with you.

Stephen: Okay.

Brooke: I've got to go to work. I love you, Daddy. I'll see you later mom, okay?

Kristen: Mother, Tony and I were not going to have sex.

Eric: Kristen, your clothes were all over the floor.

Kristen: Look, we were sharing a beautiful, intimate experience -- God, until he barged in and ruined it.

Eric: What was I supposed to do, knock politely on the door while you're in there risking your life?

Kristen: Please. We weren't risking our lives. Tony and I are responsible adults. We know what our limitations are, but we can still express our love safely. Dad, we could have had sex, but we didn't. I wanted to, and he wanted to, but we didn't, and we're not going to.

Eric: No, you're not, because it's over. You're not going to see him again.

Sally: Let me get this straight. When Eric Forrester burst in here, he saw you and Kristen on the sofa, but you were just holding each other?

Tony: Of course, Sally. We knew our limitations.

Sally: Well, did you make that clear to Eric?

Tony:  None wouldn't listen. That man is going to do everything in his power to keep me and his daughter apart.

Sally: Come on, Antonio. Kristen Forrester is a grown woman. Even the mighty Eric Forrester cannot dictate to his adult daughter whom she should or should not love. If the two of you want to be together, there's no one that can stop you.

Tony: But is it right?

Sally: Well, I don't know. How does it feel?

Tony: Oh, Sally, when we were together, it felt amazing. But then, when Eric came in, the way that he looked at me, the things that he said, I don't want to put Kristen through that again. She just got close to her family again. I don't want to be the wedge in between that.

Sally: You know something, Antonio? I really don't want to hear this. I don't want you to play the martyr for me. Please. And I don't want you to play the self-pity card, and I certainly don't want to hear any more of this self-sacrifice stuff about not wanting to hurt the Forrester family, because it is all nonsense. Hmm? You and Kristen Forrester are in love with each other, okay? That's all that matters, and you have to tell that to Eric and Stephanie. And if I were you, I would go over there right now, and I would lay down t law and tell them exactly what is going on -- that you and Kristen do not intend to break off your relationship because it is too strong and too right. And make absolutely sure they understand that there is nothing they can do to change it.

Beth: I hope you're pleased with yourself. Brooke was in tears when she walked out of here.

Stephen: Look, I'm sorry about that, but believe me, there's nothing I could ever do that would cause Brooke the pain and suffering that Ridge Forrester has brought into her life.

Brooke: I just came in to touch base.

Suzanne: Very good, Ms. Logan. Here are your messages. You have a meeting scheduled for tomorrow morning, and her we should be finished testing your system any moment.

Brooke: What system is that?

Suzanne: Video conferencing. All you have to do is go online, and you will have an instant, real-time Internet connection with the Los Angeles office.

Brooke: Oh.

Technician: Whenever you're ready, Mademoiselle Logan. The connection is working.

Brooke: Great. I'll check it out when I get settled. Thanks.

Suzanne: Can I get you anything else?

Brooke: No, I'm fine. I'm so jet-lagged. I'm going to go through these papers, then go home.

Suzanne: Okay. Well, let me know if you need me.

Brooke: All Ridge. Bye. [ Door closes]

Ridge: I knew it. You've only been out of the country a few hours, and already, you're slacking off.

Brooke: Ridge?!

Ridge: Good morning, Logan. [Brooke laughs]

Kristen: Did you not listen to anything that I just said?

Eric: Honey, Tony Dominguez is not the man for you.

Kristen: Oh, why, because he has HIV?

Eric: Yes. Now, I'm sorry if that's a difficult thing to hear, but you're my daughter, and this man is carrying a disease that could easily take his life and threaten yours.

Kristen: Oh, God. I can't believe you're talking this way. Mother, please tell me that you don't agree with him.

Stephanie: Honey, I'm willing to support a relationship between you and Tony as long as it's platonic, but I'm not gonna support any reckless behavior.

Kristen: Mother, we weren't being reckless. We took every precaution.

Eric: Honey, you put yourselves in a very dangerous situation.

Stephanie: Okay, Eric. Kristen, your dad loves you, and he's afraid. He's afraid he's going to lose you.

Tony: You're not going to lose her, Mrs. Forrester. Nothing is going to happen to your daughter, and I'm going to make sure of that, because I can't lose her either. We should greet each and every day

Beth: Massimo Marone didn't give you all this money for the good of our child. He doesn't care about Brooke. He just wants her out of L.A.

Stephen: Well, so do I.

Beth: Why didn't you do something about it sooner?

Stephen: Well, she seemed happy with Thorne. I thought she'd gotten over this obsession she had with his brother.

Beth: Maybe that isn't what it is.

Stephen: What do you mean?

Beth: Massimo's doing this for the Forrester's. They want Brooke out of the picture. Why? If Ridge isn't interested in her, there's no reason for the family to be threatened by her, but they are. Maybe Brooke is telling the truth, Stephen. Maybe she and Ridge are in love. What if they do belong together?

Ridge: So tell me, how do I look? [Brooke laughing]

Brooke: Incredible.

Ridge: Getting a good picture over there?

Brooke: Perfect. Can you see me?

Ridge: You're as lovely as ever. Pretty cool, huh?

Brooke: Yeah, it's odd. I -- I don't remember actually ordering this video conferencing system.

Ridge: Well, we've been planning it for a while. I just kind of rushed the installation.

Brooke: You did this?

Ridge: I figured you probably were a little overwhelmed over there, being away from home. Missing the kids. Dealing with your dad's illness. So, I thought maybe you could use a little one-on-one face time every now and then.

Brooke: You know, I could. I don't know how I could do this alone.

Ridge: How is it going over there?

Brooke: My dad wants me to get an apartment here and make the move from Los Angeles permanent.

Ridge: Well, it was getting kind of tense here for a while.

Brooke: So you agree with him?

Ridge: It wouldn't be the same around here without you, Logan. Imagine how much more work I could get done, if you weren't running around, taking off your clothes and chasing me around the office.

Brooke: Oh, you loved it! What are you talking about?

Ridge: Well, okay, maybe it was a little inspirational.

Brooke: Hey, if you ever get stuck again, you know, you can just lock the door and we can do a little long-distance show.

Ridge: Unfortunately, I promised the accountants we'd only use this system for business purposes.

Brooke: Oh. Darn those bean counters. They're always spoiling our fun.

Ridge: Speaking of which, I better go. It's kind of late here. And this is probably costing a fortune.

Brooke: I don't care. It's worth it.

Ridge: I'm just glad I could put a smile on a certain someone's beautiful face.

Brooke: Call me tomorrow?

Ridge: Absolutely.

Brooke: Ridge?

Ridge: Yeah?

Brooke: Thank you. I know your family's probably thrilled to have me out of town and your mother's probably doing cartwheels. But here you are, in your office. Working late, talking to me.

Ridge: It's no big deal.

Brooke: It is to me.

Ridge: Good night, Logan.

Brooke: Good night, Ridge. I love you, too.

Kristen: Tony? What are you doing here?

Tony: I need to apologize.

Kristen: No, you don't.

Tony: Look, Mr. Forrester, I'm sorry about tonight.

Eric: And that makes it all right?

Tony: I'm sorry if we upset you. No father should have to see his daughter like that.

Kristen: No, he shouldn't have barged in on us.

Tony: No, Kristen, stop. Look, I don't want our relationship causing a division in your family. Your parents love you. They're just trying to protect you. I understand that. When you look at me, you see danger. Right?

Stephanie: No. No, we just see a young man caught up in a most unfortunate situation.

Tony: Up until tonight, I felt like the unluckiest man on the planet. Since I got diagnosed HIV-positive, I haven't felt hope. Your daughter, she opened my eyes to the possibilities in a relationship with this disease. Yes, I know there's limitations. There's things that we can't do, but there's no limitations on our love.

Eric: So what are you saying, Tony? You're saying you're refusing to stop seeing my daughter?

Tony: I love your daughter, Mr. Forrester. Your daughter loves me. More than I ever imagined anyone could. I can't turn my back on that.

Eric: You can and you will! You crossed the line tonight, Tony. There's no way the two of you can keep this relationship platonic. And I'm not gonna let you play Russian roulette with my daughter's life! Now, it's over! Now, go on. Get out of my house.

Tony: Look, Mr. Forrester, I know you're scared.

Eric: I said, get out! I want you out of this house!

Kristen: Stop it! Stop it!

Stephanie: Stop! All right, all right. Tony, maybe you should go home with Kristen.

Kristen: No!

Stephanie: Let's just try and talk this out.

Kristen: No! Look, I love this man! And I am going to have a life with him! And you're gonna accept it, or I am gonna walk out that door right now and I will never step foot in this house again! It's up to you. You either accept Tony, or you lose me!
