Taylor: Who does he want to be with?
Brooke: Just say my name. It's all you have to do, Ridge, and we can start over?
Taylor: Ridge, would you please tell her to go to Paris and help her father?
Brooke: You don't want me to leave. You know we won't be happy apart.
Ridge: Are you happy now?
Brooke: I could be.
Taylor: Oh, my God. Brooke, could you really live with yourself, knowing that you turned down your father's last request?
Ridge: Taylor, come on.
Taylor: No, I'm telling you, I am really blown away by this one. You just heard that your father is dying and that he needs you by his side. Apparently, blood isn't thicker than water.
Brooke: Look, I don't have to go to Paris to be with my father.
Taylor: You would bring him back here? Uproot him from his home? Turn his life upside down? So what, you can go chasing after Ridge? You know what? I talked to your father at your wedding. He absolutely adores you! He would do anything for you! Anything! And this is how you repay him?
Stephen: I'm not going to let you hurt Brooke.
Massimo: Believe me when I tell you, I want nothing more to do with your daughter. And I'm not alone in that sentiment.
Stephen: You are so damned arrogant. And you're not alone in that, either. The Forresters have always treated Brooke like some second-class citizen.
Massimo: How wonderful that you can finally rescue her from their corrupting influence.
Stephen: What, you think this is funny?
Massimo: Far from it. Your daughter's selfish, immoral behavior has devastated lives.
Stephen: She fell in love with the wrong man.
Massimo: Oh, I see. All's fair in love and war. That's the way you raised her, isn't it? Oh, no, that's right. You did not raise her. You abandoned her when she was a small child. Now that explains a great deal -- her fascination with men who reject her, her desperate need to serve their every whim at any cost.
Stephen: I can't change the past.
Massimo: But you can shape the future. You owe her that.
Stephen: Oh, yeah? And what will I owe you? If I take your money?
Massimo: You're not in my debt, Stephen. We're partners, working towards the same goal.
Stephen: Yes, for very different reasons. Brooke means nothing to you. She's a means to an end. What you're really after is Stephanie. I almost feel sorry for her.
Massimo: You should feel sorry for Stephanie, for what your daughter has put her through.
Stephen: That's not what I meant. But that's not a problem any more, is it? Because Brooke won't be a part of Stephanie's life any more, but you will.
Massimo: Stephanie has nothing to fear from me.
Stephen: Yeah. Well, maybe I should reserve my sympathy for her husband.
Massimo: Oh, how noble that you would show compassion for a man that you despise.
Stephen: I have no problem with Eric.
Massimo: Oh, well, then you're a better person than I. I mean, if my wife was in love with someone else --
Stephen: What are you talking about? You don't know what you're saying.
Massimo: Don't I?
Stephen: No. Beth and Eric -- it was a long time ago.
Massimo: My mistake.
Stephen: You know, I have half a mind to just take this check and throw it back in your face.
Massimo: But you won't, because you know your daughter needs you and you need me. You have that card I gave you?
Massimo: Good. Remember, help is just a phone call away. And since you have the card, something else that you should remember that's very important. I do not want you to lose it, and I do not want you to show anyone. No one must know of our alliance. Do you understand me, Stephen?
Massimo: All right. I suppose you should get going. You have a flight to catch. I will be in touch.
Stephen: Oh, Stephanie, what the hell have you gotten us into?
Taylor: Wake up from this fantasy, Brooke. You have centered your whole life around a man you can't even have. In the meantime, everybody else gets pushed aside. Thorne couldn't take it. Your children feel alienated. And now, your own father?
Brooke: Well, I shouldn't have to choose!
Taylor: Well, guess what, you do. That's life. You don't always get a second chance, Brooke. Okay? Do you understand that? You might not be able to make it up to your father later. There might not be a later.
Ridge: She's right, you know.
Brooke: She's just trying to protect her marriage.
Ridge: Well, even if she is, it doesn't make what she's saying any less true.
Brooke: Well then, when does it end, Ridge? If I go to Paris for my father's sake and you stay here for hers and your children's and your mother's -- when do we stop living our lives for other people?
Ridge: That's not what I'm doing, Brooke. Please, don't put your life on hold for me.
Brooke: You are my life. She doesn't understand. She doesn't feel the way we do. Ridge --
Ridge: I want you to go to Paris.
Brooke: No, you don't mean that.
Taylor: Brooke, you said if he told you to go, you would.
Brooke: Ridge, look at me.
Ridge: Just go, all right? Your father needs you, Brooke.
Brooke: And you? You don't?
Taylor: Brooke, let it go.
Brooke: Is that what you want, Ridge? Is that what you want? To just let it go? I mean, you could have so much more than that. [Knock at the door]
Stephen: Oh, excuse me. Am I interrupting?
Taylor: No, come on in. We're done.
Stephen: Hello, Taylor, Ridge.
Ridge: Hey, Stephen. Brooke told us. I'm very sorry.
Stephen: Thank you.
Stephanie: Has Brooke left?
Megan: No, not yet. I think she's saying good-bye to Ridge right now.
Stephanie: What's going on?
Ridge: Just relax, Mother. It's okay.
Stephanie: Is she leaving?
Taylor: She is. Ridge told her she should go.
Ridge: You did a lot of the convincing, too, and I'm glad you did. This is very tough for Brooke to face. She's crazy about her dad, and if she let him down, you're right. She would have regretted it for the rest of her life.
Stephanie: You said that?
Eric: It sounds like you handled it.
Thorne: Did she leave yet?
Stephanie: No, but I guess any moment.
Ridge: Oh, for God's sakes. Does everybody know about this?
Stephanie: Brooke called your father last night.
Megan: We're really gonna miss you around here.
Brooke: Thank you.
Megan: You take care, Mr. Logan.
Eric: Look, if there's anything we can do --
Stephen: You and your wife have done quite enough. Hi, Thorne.
Thorne: Hey, Stephen. I just heard. I still can't believe it.
Stephen: Well, I hated to do this to Brooke.
Thorne: Well, I'm sure she'd rather know the truth.
Stephen: Well, I think we should be going.
Thorne: Good-bye, Brooke.
Brooke: Good-bye, Thorne.
Stephanie: Don't linger on my account.
Brooke: I don't know when I'm going to see you again.
Ridge: You'll be all right, Logan.
Stephanie: Good riddance to bad rubbish. You did the right thing.
Stephen: Hey. Hey, hey, hey. Look, I know, I know. I know this is difficult. It's not easy.
Stephen: But you need to do this, honey, for yourself as much as for me. This is going to be a new start. Okay? You trust me? Aw, come on.
Stephen: Shh, it's okay.
Stephanie: Mass, you did it. How can I ever thank you? Oh, I'm indebted to you forever. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Massimo: I brought you something.
Stephanie: Oh, no, you shouldn't have. You've done so much -- oh!
Massimo: Mm-hmm. Now we must celebrate.
Stephanie: Celebrate? Well, yes. I'll go along with that.
Massimo: All right. Vive la France.
Stephanie: "Viva la France"? Whoa! You know, this seems a little lopsided for celebration. The French have been so good to us, haven't they? Let's see. They've given us the statue of liberty, fashion, champagne. And all we've done is send them Brooke Logan?
Massimo: Well, you certainly don't have to have any guilt, because she is not your responsibility any more.
Stephanie: Thank you. I'm serious when I tell you this -- if I had to go at it again with Brooke, I don't know -- I don't know if I would have survived.
Massimo: I'm just so sorry you had to put up with it for so long.
Stephanie: Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Taylor: You want some help?
Ridge: Oh, no thanks. I'm just gonna have Megan send a bunch of this to Brooke to keep her mind occupied. Would you hand me those sketches on the table?
Taylor: Sure. Did you know about this?
Ridge: Oh, yeah. Brooke showed me that.
Taylor: Unbelievable. She never would've stopped, you know that? We would've been under constant pressure the rest of our lives. I'm glad she's gone.
Ridge: I think it's just sad what she has to go through.
Taylor: Well, at least now she'll be bringing a family together instead of ripping ours apart. Sweetheart, I have to go. I'm gonna stop by the office before I pick up the kids.
Thorne: All right.
Taylor: I love you.
Ridge: I'll see you later.
Stephen: Hey. Have I told you how much this means to me?
Brooke: I'm glad we're going to have this time.
Stephen: Yeah. But it's still tough on you, I know.
Brooke: Ridge will be there when I get back. I know that's not something you want to hear, Dad.
Stephen: No. It's not.
Brooke: I just can't help it. In loving Ridge, that's who I am.
Stephen: Oh, honey, you're so much more than that. Just tell me that you'll make an attempt, at least try to forget.
Brooke: My focus won't be on him in Paris. It'll be on you.
Stephen: Oh. I'll be right back. You need anything?
Brooke: No, thanks. [Phone rings]
Brooke: Hi, Ridge. It's me.
Ridge: Logan? Where are you?
Brooke: On the plane. I'm on my way to Paris.
Brooke: I miss you already.
Ridge: Well, maybe everyone was right, Brooke. Maybe it's all for the best this way.
Brooke: No, no, I'll never believe that, Ridge. Because what's the best for me is you. I should go.
Ridge: You take care, Logan. I'll be thinking about you.
