Brooke: I made you some cappuccino.

Thorne: No thanks.

Brooke: Thorne, you don't have to do all that packing today.

Thorne: I want to finish this.

Brooke: I'm going on a business trip tomorrow. You'll have the whole house to yourself.

Thorne: I won't be coming back. I'm almost done. You are going by yourself?

Brooke: Yes. Can we talk?

Thorne: No, Brooke, we can't. Besides, there's nothing left to say.

Brooke: Well, I have a lot to say.

Thorne: Well, I'm sure if it's important, can you tell it to Ridge, and it will get back to me.

 (Door bell ringing)

Thorne: You'd better go get that.

**************************************************************

Brooke: Hi, honey.

Bridget: Hi, mom.

Brooke: Looks like you're out and about early.

Bridget: I wanted to catch you before you went to work.

Brooke: Well, I wanted to talk to you, too.

Bridget: Where's Thorne?

Brooke: He's upstairs.

Bridget: So it isn't true?

Brooke: Honey, he's packing. He's moving out.

Bridget: I see.

Brooke: I wanted to talk to you and your brother sooner, but everything just happened so fast.

Bridget: So, what, are you getting separated?

Brooke: Thorne had the marriage annulled.

Bridget: Already?

Brooke: That's what he wants.

Bridget: What about what you want?

Brooke: I certainly didn't want this. But maybe it's for the best.

Bridget: Mom, he's your husband. You love him. Don't you?

************************************************************************************

Amber: Want some juice? Huh? Here.

Amber: There we go.

Deacon: Bridget is nuts if she thinks I'm going to wear this -- not a word. So help me, not a single word, Amber .

Deacon: Enough. You've had it.

Amber: Honey, look. Your daddy has his Halloween costume on.

Deacon: It's me. Your dad. I'm just dressed like an idiot. Do you believe this?

Amber: What are you doing?

Deacon: That's a good question. I think Stephanie is having a dinner party and this is my outfit for the evening. You like it?

Amber: You're going to fit in perfectly.

Deacon: The question is, what are you going to be wearing this evening?

Amber: Nothing remotely as hideous as you. Rick is going to be so proud of you.

Deacon: I think mommy is looking for a spanking. What do you think? Huh? I can't believe that people wear this ridiculous garbage. Wouldn't be caught dead in a stupid outfit like this if it wasn't -- no.

Amber: Perfect.

Deacon: You've had your little fun. Now give me the camera.

Amber: No way.

Deacon: Amber, camera!

Amber: I'll make you a copy. You and Bridget. Oh, no, no, a blowup.

Deacon: I'm not playing around here. Give me the film.

Amber: This is going to look so good on next year's Christmas card!

Deacon: You're not leaving here with that camera.

Amber: Wait until the guys at the lair see this.

Deacon: No. If you even bring that down there ...

Amber: Come on, you look so cute! She will buy you a sailor's outfit next.

Deacon: It is to die for, isn't it, lovely? Begin and tonics opt after the deck.

Amber: Then afterwards, we'll go to the country club to play some poker.

Deacon: Yes, fabulous! Afterwards, we'll have James bring around a limousine. So, what are you going to wear for this little shindig? Somehow I'm guessing it ain't cutoffs.

Amber: Well, you see, Rick and I, we have an understanding about these things.

Deacon: Right. Right.

Amber: Yeah, he cuts me a lot of slack.

Deacon: As a friend, would you speak to Rick and ask him to speak to his sister. Come on, I can't wear this.

Amber: How are things going with you two?

Deacon: Well, other than the wardrobe issue, you know, things are pretty good. Hey, did you hear about Thorne and Brooke?

Amber: Unbelievable.

Deacon: Yeah. Yeah. I was really floored.

Amber: Guess you never know with a marriage. I mean, except with ours, you know.

Deacon: Right. Yeah. So, how are things? With Rick?

Amber: Oh, great. Definitely great. Yeah. So, do you know what happened with Thorne and Brooke? You do, don't you?

Deacon: Brooke and I talked.

Amber: About her marriage?

Deacon: No. No, actually, we talked about you and me.

Amber: She's still on your case about that?

Deacon: She ain't going to be for much longer. She's got her own headaches now.

Amber: What did she say?

Deacon: Look, it doesn't really matter, does it?

Amber: No. No, of course not. I was just -- you know, I was just curious.

Deacon: You know, nothing new. Same old stuff. How you and I belong together. How we're the only ones that can make each other happy. How we're soul mates, that stuff.

Amber: She just doesn't give up, does she?

Deacon: No, no, she doesn't. And she doesn't think that we should, either.

Amber: Ridiculous.

Deacon: Yeah.

Deacon:: So, you want to take the boy out to the beach?

Amber: Sure. Want to come along? You'll scare off all the sharks.

Deacon: I think I'll go change.

********************************************************************************

Brooke: Of course I love Thorne.

Bridget: So then, Mom, work out your problems. Just go get some counseling or something.

Brooke: It's not that simple.

Bridget: Marriage is never simple, Mom. How many times did you tell me that?

Brooke: Thorne wants out.

Bridget: And you're just going to let him leave?

Brooke: Honey, it's really very complicated.

Bridget: Yes, I know. Deacon told me about your talk.

Brooke: Oh, great. I told him not to say anything.

Bridget: He's my husband, mother. Husbands don't hide things from their wives. You know, I cannot believe you're still trying to break us up.

Brooke: Let's not get into this, okay?

Bridget: He's not going to leave me for Amber. Okay?

Brooke: I have really strong feelings about that, and now is not the time to talk about it.

Bridget: There is no time talk about it, mother. Deacon's thing for Amber is over. There's no more chemistry, no more attraction. And if you try to undermine my marriage again, just know I'm not going to tolerate it.

Brooke: All right. All right.

Bridget: So now what are you going to do about Thorne?

Brooke: I don't know. There really is not much that I can do.

Bridget: Come on, Mom, if you really want your marriage back ...

Thorne: She doesn't want to, Bridget. She's in love with Ridge.

Brooke: That is so unfair.

Thorne: Deny it. I think Bridget is old enough to know the truth.

Brooke: I'm not even going to discuss it.

*********************************************************************

Bridget: You don't have to. I got the whole story from Deacon. I don't know what to say to you right now.

Thorne: There's nothing to say to her, Bridget. She's your mother, you support her.

Bridget: Thorne, why are you letting her off the hook? How do you think this makes me feel? I have been fighting like hell to make my marriage work. What am I supposed to make of this? Isn't anything sacred to you? Am I?

Thorne: Hey, Bridget, don't ever question your mother's love. Okay? She wasn't going to marry me because of you and your brother. So don't throw that at her. Look, the truth is, I should have seen this coming. Everybody warned me, but I didn't listen. Instead, I did the opposite. I tried to convince your mother that it would work. All right? So if you're going to throw blame, you throw it at me because I'm just as much to blame as your mother is.

Bridget: I'm sorry.

Thorne: It's a bad situation. Okay? I just hope that you and Rick can learn something from it.

Bridget: I guess I'll leave you two alone. I love you.

Brooke: I love you too.

Bridget: Bye, Mom.

*****************************************************************************

Deacon: You ready to catch some waves? Yeah? Yeah! All right! Let's catch some waves. Before we do that is correct let's put a little sunscreen on you. We don't want you to burn there. Keep your skin nice and soft just like your mom's.

Amber: Don't forget his face.

Deacon: I'm not going to forget his face. Come here, baby. Put a little war paint on you. Look at that. When we get out of the water, we get to do it all over again, huh? What do you think? You want to put some of this on me? It's like finger paint. Give me your hand. Give me that finger. You can put it on daddy and make a little smiley face. Here. Want to try it? Come on. It's like finger painting. So what are we going to do first when we go out there? Are we going to build a sand castle or play in the waves? What do you think, huh? So you going to put your bikini on?

Amber: I'm wearing it.

Deacon: Well? What color is this? It's red.

*****************************************************************

Brooke: Thank you for that.

Thorne: You were right. I probably shouldn't have said anything to Bridget.

Brooke: She already knew.

Thorne: I guess I'm still a little bitter.

Brooke: Well, you should be.

Thorne: We never could have made it work, Brooke.

Brooke: I thought it was working.

Thorne: So did I. But there was always something missing.

Brooke: Oh, Thorne.

Thorne: I just wish ...

Brooke: What?

Thorne: That you could have felt for me the way that you did for my brother, because I did love you, Brooke. I do love you.

**************************************************************************

Deacon: Give me that. Let me have that. Okay, thanks, buddy. Maybe we ought to put some of this on you.

Amber: I don't think so.

Deacon: I wasn't talking about me. I just ... How soft and white your skin is, Amber, I don't want those rays to eat you up alive.

Amber: I'll put some on when we get outside. Hey, honey, why don't you get your toys together. Okay?

Deacon: You still have it.

Amber: What?

Deacon: The tattoo. I thought you were going to have it removed.

Amber: Yeah. Well ... Rick's been cool about it. Tell you the truth, I kind of like it. You still have yours?

Deacon: So, things are good with Rick?

Amber: Yeah. Just as good as things are with Bridget. Right?

Deacon: I guess we're making it work.

Amber: I guess Brooke was wrong. Um ... We'd better get to the beach.

Deacon: Good idea.

Amber: Yeah.

Deacon: Okay, pal, you ready? Let's gather up all your stuff here.

Amber: Okay, buddy, you ready? Beach time. Okay.

Deacon; Ready whenever you are.

Amber: Let's go, honey. Come here.

***********************************************************************

Thorne: I shouldn't have said that.

Brooke: I love you too, Thorne.

Thorne: Where do you go from here, Brooke?

Brooke: I don't know.

Thorne: You're going to Paris. Right?

Brooke: A business meeting.

Thorne: Maybe you should think about staying on for a while.

Brooke: God, now you're sounding like your mother.

Thorne: International has a lot of terrific guys, and many of them are available.

Brooke: I'm not looking for another guy.

Thorne: Maybe you should. Brooke, you have to let go of my brother. It's just not going to work.

Brooke: How many times have I heard that?

Thorne: Even if he felt the way that you did, he's not going to leave his wife and kids. And even if he did, Brooke, can you imagine the scandal? Do you really want to put yourself through that, and not to mention the rest of the family?

Brooke: I'm not trying to cause trouble, Thorne. So what about you? What are you going to do?

Thorne: I've got my work.

Brooke: You need more than that.

Thorne: It's too soon. Look, don't worry about me, okay? I'm sure I won't die a bachelor.

Brooke: God, I failed you so badly.

Thorne: I never should have pushed for this marriage. I was kidding myself.

Brooke: We were so wonderful together.

Thorne: We were best friends.

Brooke: All those talks that we had and the walks on the beach. All those wonderful memories. I will cherish them forever. But I'll never forgive myself for trying to convince you to marry me. That will haunt me forever.

Thorne: I did the same thing. We both needed something. Maybe too desperately. Brooke, that's what scares me. You're still desperate. For a man that you're just not going to have.

Brooke: No, no, that's the problem. Don't you see? I mean, the problem I had with you and me and Eric and me, I just never owned up to my feelings that I had for Ridge.

Thorne: Brooke, if only I could erase my brother from your mind, from your heart, and not for my benefit, for you. Because you're going to suffer. And as long as you love him, you are going to feel pain, and I don't want that for you.

Thorne: I got to go. Okay? You have a good trip. (Sound of door closing)

Brooke: You're right, Thorne. Ridge is the one for me. But you're wrong when you say that I'll never have him. Because I will have Ridge. There's just no other way.
