Antonio: I don't understand. How did this happen? How could I have been so wrong? I'm HIV-positive.

Stephanie: Thorne wants to end the marriage?

Ridge: That's what he said.

Stephanie: Oh, my God, I knew this was going to happen but I never had any idea it would happen this quickly.

Ridge: I just think it's a tragedy because Thorne still loves Brooke and I know that she still loves him.

Stephanie: Honey, she doesn't understand the meaning of the word "love" unless it applies to you.

Ridge: Let's get something straight right now... What's going on with Thorne and Brooke has nothing to do with me.

Stephanie: I'm not suggesting that you're an active participant in this.

Ridge: The situation is difficult enough without this whole family telling Thorne that Brooke is still in love with me!

Stephanie: The best thing that he could do is just forget that woman.

Ridge: That woman happens to be his wife.

Stephanie: Well, not for long.

Ridge: What is it with you? A few months ago you walked Brooke down the aisle.

Stephanie: I did that for the family. I never approved of the marriage and I told your brother that. That marriage was destined to fail right from the beginning.

Ridge: It sure seemed solid up until this happened.

Stephanie: Obviously it's not, is it? I have never believed that Brooke was in love with your brother. Never. Oh, God! If he's really determined to go through with the divorce, then he'll accomplish something that nobody else in this family has ever been able to do, and that is: He'll get rid of Brooke.

Ridge: Thorne!

Stephanie: You all right?

Thorne: Ive been better.

Stephanie: Is this true? You're going to get a divorce?

Thorne: Yeah. Yes, I am.

Brooke: Thorne... Why don't you understand? I didn't want this to happen. I never meant to hurt you. But I have. Oh, God! I've ruined everything. (Phone ringing)

Brooke: Thorne?

Megan: No, Brooke, it's Megan. Where are you?

Brooke: I'm at the cabin.

Megan: What are you doing up in big bear? Thorne's here. I just saw him.

Brooke: I know. I tried to explain. I tried to talk to him but he got so angry. I blew it! It's over, Megan! My marriage is over.

 (Knock at door)

Kristen: Hello, Clarke.

Clarke: Hey, Kris. You looking for your boyfriend?

Kristen: Yeah. Is he around?

Clarke: No. Tony's not here. In fact I thought he was with you.

Kristen: Well, we were supposed to do something today but we hadn't made any specific plans.

Clarke: Ah. So how is that going anyway?

Kristen: I don't think we should talk about that.

Clarke: Hey, as long as Antonio keeps this company in the black, he can date whoever the hell he wants.

Kristen: Yeah?

Clarke: Yeah.

Kristen: Even your ex-wife?

Clarke: It's a free country. Besides, he's always here, work with me, telling me how close you two are getting. And I want to ask you: How do you feel about it?

Kristen: I feel wonderful.

Clarke: Yeah?

Kristen: Yeah. I think he's the one, Clarke. I really do.

Antonio: What am I going to do? What do I tell Kristen? What do I tell the woman that I love? How do I tell her that I'm HIV-positive?

Antonio: Poor Kristen! I love her so much. How do I tell her this?

Taylor: You have to do it, Tony.

Antonio: Oh, my God!

Taylor: What?

Antonio: I slept with Sofia.

Taylor: When?

Antonio: After Ellen. We were always careful. We always used condoms. But there's still that chance. What if I gave it to her? Oh, my! First I break her heart, and now this!

Taylor: Tony, you didn't know you were sick.

Antonio: But I am. If she's HIV-positive, it's all my fault.

Stephanie: What happened, honey?

Thorne: Brooke was trying to convince Deacon not to give up on Amber. And she said that once you find yourself -- your soul mate, no one else will ever satisfy you.

Ridge: Thorne, she was just trying to make a point.

Thorne: But approaching her undying passion for you?

Stephanie: I see.

Thorne: By professing her undying passion for you?

Stephanie: I see.

Thorne: You warned me, but I didn't listen. She still thinks about him, all the damn time! Here. In the house, in my damn bed!

Stephanie: Stop it! Put that out of your mind and forget about her.

Ridge: You guys are still married.

Stephanie: That doesn't have to last, does it? Jonathan can draw up divorce papers today.

Ridge: Thorne, listen to me. Brooke does not want to end your marriage. If you just talk to her...

Thorne: Ridge, I have nothing to say to her!

Ridge: Did you see her?

Thorne: Yes. And I never want to see her again.

Ridge: When?

Thorne: This morning, at the house when I was packing my bags.

Ridge: This morning? Where is she? Where did she go?

Thorne: I don't give a damn! As long as she keeps her distance from me, I don't care where she goes.

Stephanie: Good! Keep your distance from her. You too! I know this is hard for you, but she's not going to hurt you again. She's not going to hurt any of us again. Okay?

Ridge: Mother, where are you going?

Stephanie: I have something I have to take care of.

Stephanie: Now, where would she be? Brooke's not at the office and not at home. Where could she possibly go?

Clarke: Kris, a little strange for me to say this, but I haven't seen you this happy and confident for a long time.

Kristen: I know. I still can't believe it myself! I'm in love!

Clarke: So is the high-flying Forrester free sprit ready to settle down again?

Kristen: Maybe.

Clarke: No more Milan, no more Paris? Going to see be the ordinary Mrs.. Antonio Dominguez?

Kristen: It's ironic, isn't it? I have traveled the world looking for love, and the search is over. I've found it here at home. As long as Tony and I have each other, our health, our happiness, our dreams, we don't need anything else.

Taylor: That's perfect. All right? I'll see you at 10 o'clock in the morning. All right, bye-bye. Sorry about that.

Antonio: Look, I got to go.

Taylor: Knocks no. I don't want you going anywhere until I know you're all right.

Antonio: All right? I'm HIV-positive, Taylor! I'm never going to be all right again!

Taylor: That's not true! There may not be a cure for a disease --

Antonio: Look, "HIV" means AIDS. AIDS means death.

Taylor: Not anymore. With the right treatment you might not have a single symptom for years. (Phone ringing)

Taylor: Do you want to get that?

Antonio: It's Kristen. I was supposed to call her this morning.

Antonio: Hello?

Kristen: Hello, handsome. I just stopped by your office. I was hoping we could have lunch.

Antonio: I forgot, I have an appointment.

Kristen: Oh. Well, it sounds like you're still in the middle of it.

Antonio: Yeah. I am.

Kristen: I didn't mean to interrupt.

Antonio: No, no. I'm glad you called. Look, I can't make it to lunch today.

Kristen: Oh, that's okay. I was really just calling to tell you that I love you.

Antonio: I love you too.

Kristen: All right. I'll see you later.

Antonio: Bye.

Taylor: You have to tell her, Tony.

Antonio: Taylor, I I wanted to marry this woman. How do I tell her that we can't have a life together?

Ridge: Okay, good. How does that feel now?

Great. (Knock at door)

Thorne: Could you give Ridge and I a minute, please?

Ridge: We're finished here. Take it down to car. Tell him I promise I won't touch it again.

Ridge: What's up, Thorne?

Thorne: I want you to know that I'm not blaming you for any of this, okay? You didn't do anything wrong.

Ridge: Technically, neither did Brooke.

Thorne: Ridge, I don't want to talk about her.

Ridge: We need to talk about her.

Thorne: I know you disagree with what I'm doing.

Ridge: You're angry. Brooke has hurt you badly. You may not get over this. That's your call. But please, Thorne, I'm begging you... Don't turn this into a crusade against Brooke. Because despite everything you've heard, she loves you very much. And she doesn't deserve to have this whole family come down on her.

Brooke: Thorne?

Taylor: Tony, you are not dying. You can still have a life with Kristen.

Antonio: That's not the life that we planned.

Taylor: You two just started dating.

Antonio: I was going to propose to her. Oh, the first time that I opened that door and I saw her, I knew. Something told me deep down inside, this is the woman. This is the woman that's going to make you a husband and a father. It was an instant connection.

Taylor: Love at first sight?

Antonio: Do you believe in that?

Taylor: I don't know.

Antonio: You would if you would have felt the way I did. Oh, I just pictured our entire future together. All I had to do was kiss her and it would again. -- It would begin. So I did. And now she's going to hate me forever. She's going to be terrified every time she thinks of that kiss.

Taylor: You don't know that. If you two love each other the way that you say you do --

Antonio: Taylor, I'm HIV-positive. We're never going to get together.

Taylor: You may not believe this, but there are a lot of couples that work this out.

Antonio: I can't make love to her. All I can do is have children with her. -- I can't have children with her. All I can do is be her friend. I'm not going to accept that. We can't have the life that we planned.

Taylor: That's true. You can't have the life that you planned. But you can still have your dreams. You can approach them differently.

Antonio: My dreams all vanished this morning when I got these results. Successful career, successful marriage, big happy family. It's not my future. I don't have a future. I have HIV.

Thorne: You want me to protect Brooke from the family?

Ridge: Mother and dad have just been trashing her. They are talking about how messed up she is, how your relationship has been doomed from the start.

Thorne: Well, she was! She's in love with you, Ridge.

Ridge: Don't listen to what she says. Look at what she's done... Nothing. She hasn't done one thing to disappoint you, Thorne. And until you heard her talking to Deacon, you were perfectly satisfied with your marriage. And so was she.

Thorne: So this is my fault? I'm being too judgmental?

Ridge: I just think you're jumping the gun here.

Thorne: Oh. That's right. I should have expected this, Ridge. The white knight. galloping in to defend Brooke's honor. You know, maybe she was right, maybe you two are meant for each other.

Ridge: Thorne, stop it!

Thorne: Ridge, I have stopped. I've stopped being Brooke's consolation prize. I've stopped living in your shadow. And as soon as Jonathan draws up these annulment papers, I'm going to stop this marriage. You want to help Brooke? Help her accept it.

Brooke: I came up here to be alone, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time for that.

Brooke: So Thorne told you?

Stephanie: Yes.

Brooke: Look, I know you want to hear my side of the story. But I'm really just too upset.

Stephanie: Not really. I don't care what happened.

Brooke: Well, if you came up here to rant and rave and make me feel guilty, you can't make me feel much worse than --

Stephanie: I spent years ranting and raving. I don't have any intention of doing that.

Brooke: Then why are you here?

Stephanie: To tell you what time it is.

Brooke: Excuse me?

Stephanie: To tell you what time it is. It's time to go, to say goodbye. You've played outline your little bag of tricks. You've told all your lies. There are no more tricks. It's time to leave. So long. Farewell, adieu. We're through with you. It's over.
