Megan: Well, whoever said that doesn't know what they're talking about.

Thorne: Brooke said it.

Megan: No, I don't believe it.

Thorne: She made it very clear, Megan. Ridge is the one great love of her life. And the passion they shared can never be surpassed. Never! God, all this time, I have been deluding myself. I never had a chance because it's Ridge. It is always Ridge! I'm not Brooke's soul mate. I'm just a guy that she settled for.

Brooke: I don't know. Why don't you call the distributor and check with him, then get back to me. Thanks.

Ridge: All done?

Brooke: Oh, yeah. Sorry that took so long.

Ridge: Could have given that call to dad, you know.

Brooke: Yeah, I know. And I should have. Oh, my gosh. Look at the time. I got to go.

Ridge: Not so fast. You still haven't put this on.

Brooke: Ridge, I am not going to drop my dress in front of you.

Ridge: You've done it before.

Brooke: That was before I was married.

Ridge: I guess you are a little out of practice. It has been eons.

Brooke: You better pray for the next ice age, buddy, because hell is going to freeze over before you get me into this!

Ridge: Logan, I'm disappointed in you. Thorne has planned a very romantic evening. He spent a lot of effort doing that. I thought you might just want to pitch in and do your part.

Brooke: Oh, you wanted me to wear that for Thorne.

Ridge: You don't think he'll like it?

Brooke: Yes. Yes, I think he'll love it.

Deacon: Conrad, that guy is out back with the deliver. I want you to make sure everything is there this time. All right? Bridget, what are you doing here?

Bridget: You couldn't tell me anything over the phone, and I couldn't wait until you got home.

Deacon: No, but you shouldn't be out of bed. You just got out of the hospital. I don't want you driving all over town.

Bridget: I took a cab. Tell me. What happened with my mother.

Deacon: Nothing. Just, you know, we talked.

Bridget: About what?

Deacon: About us. The marriage. Amber. The usual.

Bridget: Don't give me that. Something's going on. What did my mother say? Deacon! I'm your wife. You can tell me.

Deacon: Honey, you're also Brooke's daughter.

Bridget: What does that mean?

Deacon: I just -- I don't know that she'd want you to know this.

Bridget: Is it bad?

Deacon: Well, it could be if anyone found out.

Bridget: Well, I'm not going to say anything. Deacon, please. I have to know. What is going on with my mother?

Deacon: If I tell you this, you got to swear to me, Bridget, I'm not screwing around here. You can't tell anyone in your family. Understand?

Bridget: Tell anybody what, Deacon. You're scaring me.

Deacon: Just relax. It's not terrible. It's just that ... You know how your mother's been talking about me and Amber and there's this one person in the world that fits you perfectly, this passion that's so intense, it never goes away, all that b.s.

Bridget: Forget about that. She doesn't know what she's talking about.

Deacon: Yes, she does. All right? All the talk about finding your perfect soul mate, that one person? Well, she wasn't just talking about me and Amber. She was talking about herself.

Bridget: So what? Everybody knows she and Thorne are meant for each other.

Deacon: She wasn't talking about Thorne.

Bridget: Of course she was.

Deacon: No, actually, she was ... Talking about Ridge.

Bridget: What?

Ridge: You didn't think when I brought that -- when I asked you to put this on ... I was coming on to you?

Brooke: No!

Ridge: Yes, you did. Look at you. You're blushing.

Brooke: No, I'm not. Will you stop? Gosh, Ridge, you just kind of caught me off guard, that's all. I didn't know what to think.

Ridge: I guess I can't really blame you. I used to pull stunts like this all the time, didn't I?

Brooke: Yes, you did. Oh, anyway, I'd better go. I'm sure Thorne is up there in the cabin by now.

Ridge: Well, don't forget this.

Ridge: This song. I haven't heard that in a while, have you?

Brooke: No.

Ridge: There was a time when I thought you and I would be dancing on our 50th wedding anniversary to this song.

Brooke: It was a long time ago.

Ridge: Lots changed since then.

Brooke: Yes. We're different people.

Ridge: Oh, I don't know if we've really changed that much. A little older, hopefully a little wiser. But I think we basically want the same things.

Brooke: Like what?

Ridge: To be happy. Keep our kids safe. Want the best for ourselves and our families. And I don't think we'll settle for anything less.

Brooke: The best. That's what you have with Taylor.

Ridge: And that's what you have with Thorne.

Brooke Right.

Brooke Speaking of which, I think I really got to run, because he's probably waiting for me right now.

Ridge Logan? You and Thorne are happy, aren't you?

Brooke: Ridge, your brother is the most generous and that you feel person that I know. He's very kind to the kids, and he's great to me. Yes! Yes, we're happy. We're very happy.

Megan: Brooke told you she's still in love with your brother?

Thorne: She wasn't talking to me. She was talking to Deacon.

Megan: Deacon?

Thorne: Yeah, they were in her office.

Megan: This afternoon? Wait, wait. This just happened?

Thorne: No, this has been going on forever. I just learned about it. God! My God, Thorne, how could you be so blind? You know, I'm ... I'm standing outside of her office, and I'm listening to her rave on and on about this man, this wonderful man. I think she's talking about me.

Megan: Maybe she was.

Thorne: No. She said Ridge.

Megan: Thorne, it's a slip of the tongue.

Thorne: Slip of the tongue? She begged Deacon to keep it quiet. Because if it ever got back to me, I wouldn't understand. You see, but I do. I understand exactly what it means. This delusion, this fantasy that I've been living? It's over. It is over.

Brooke: what am I doing, going out to Big Bear lake when I have so much work to do. And Bridget, she needs me. Well, my husband needs me too. And I need him. Maybe that's why I've been so stressed lately. I just need to relax. Spend some quality time with my wonderful husband.

Bridget: I can't believe. You're sure that's what my mother said, that Ridge is her soul mate? No, Deacon, you must have heard it wrong.

Deacon: Baby, at first I thought I did, but I didn't. Sorry, but she said it.

Bridget: God. If Thorne ever found out about this -- I mean, if he even suspected that mom still had feelings for Ridge, he would lose t he would completely lose it.

Megan: Thorne, come on. When you say it's over, you don't mean --

Thorne: I mean that it's over. All the belief, all the faith that I had in our marriage, it's gone.

Megan: You talked to Brooke about this?

Thorne: Talk to her? I can't talk to her. I can't even stand the thought of looking at her.

Megan: But, Thorne, you don't really know what's going on. Maybe if you sat her down --

Thorne: she settled for me, Megan. Settled! She's still in love with Ridge. She thinks about him every single night when she's laying next to me in our bed. My brother. God, if she doesn't have feelings for me, I have to wonder when else she thinks about him.

Megan: Thorne, stop. Don't do this to yourself.

Thorne: But I did do this to myself. When Brooke and I got married, we agreed to put him behind us. She swore to me that he was history. But he's not. He is still alive in her heart. My God, she still wants him as much as she ever did!

Megan: All right. All right. Thorne, Thorne, I know you're upset. You've got to calm down. This isn't going to solve anything.

Thorne: Brooke's here, you got to go.

Megan: No, I'm not leaving you like this.

Thorne: No, I'm ok. you've got to go out the back.

Megan: No, I'm not leaving --

Thorne: Megan, go, now!

Brooke: Thorne. This is going to be a very special evening for us.

Deacon: I don't want you to get the idea that your mother doesn't love Thorne. She does. A lot. But she just has these feelings for Ridge.

Bridget: What kind of feelings? Did she say?

Deacon: Passionate feelings.

Bridget: Deacon, come on, I have to know exactly what she said.

Deacon: She said that no one will ever take the place of Ridge in her heart.

Bridget: Oh, my God. Mom.

Deacon: Look, look. It's not that big a deal. So she fantasizes, day dreams a little bit. Your mother is married to Thorne, Ridge is married to Taylor. What's the big deal?

Bridget: Really? So you think it's no big deal for husbands and wife to fantasize about other people?

Deacon: Well, I think she does a little more than fantasizing. I think she has genuine feelings for Ridge.

Bridget: Same feelings she thinks you have for Amber.

Deacon: That is how the conversation got started, yeah.

Bridget: What did she tell you, that those feelings would never go away?

Deacon: Yeah.

Bridget: Now that you know about Ridge, do you believe her?

Deacon: Baby, listen to me. She just doesn't want us to make the same mistake that she made. She didn't wait for a soul mate, and she settled for Thorne.

Bridget: Is that what she told you, that she settled for Thorne?

Deacon: It doesn't matter what she did. This is about you and me. All right? Hey, look at me. We're going to make this last.

Bridget: So terrible.

Deacon: No, it's cool.

Bridget: No, no not for us. Mom and Thorne. You don't understand. She has been hung up on Ridge for years. If this got out ... Deacon, it could ruin everything. It could tear our entire family apart.

Brooke: Thorne, I'm here!

Thorne: Glad you can make it.

Brooke: Wow! Everything looks so beautiful.

Thorne: So do you.

Brooke: Thanks for the dress.

Thorne: You like it?

Brooke: Yes. I love it. It's gorgeous. Such a that you feel idea.

Thorne: That's me, Mr. Thoughtful.

Brooke: Yes, you are. That's why I love you so much.

Thorne: Don't!

Brooke: What's wrong?

Thorne: How long have we been married, Brooke?

Brooke: Six months.

Thorne: Six months. Easy to lose track of time. We've been so busy with Bridget, Rick, Deacon. We really haven't spent that much time together.

Brooke: I know. I really feel bad about that. I've been so consumed with the kids' problems.

Thorne: I really have felt a distance between us.

Brooke: I'm sorry.

Thorne: Oh, no, I don't mind. I haven't really even thought about it. You know, that's how us nice guys are. We just give and give. We never really think about what we're going to get in return. Maybe that's why we always finish last.

Brooke: What? That's not true.

Thorne: Truth? You want to talk about truth? Let's talk about mom and dad. They told me the truth once, but I didn't listen. Ridge, Ridge tried to show me the truth. And I saw it, but I let it go. When they told me that you were no good for me, I went to bat for you. When you said you loved me, I trusted you.

Brooke: I do love you.

Thorne: Of course you do. I'm your best friend. Your con if I can't.

Brooke: And my husband.

Thorne: Oh, that's right. Your one great love. The love you spent all these years longing and searching for. You know when we first got together, you said you couldn't believe it. That after all this time, the love that you have been looking for was right under your nose. But you couldn't believe it because it isn't true, Brooke.

Brooke: What?

Thorne: See, you didn't believe it. See, but I did. Because I thought it was me. I thought it was me, the one that you wanted. Me, Brooke. But you just settled for me.

Brooke: Thorne, what are you talking about?

Thorne: I know, Brooke! I know. It was Ridge. All this time. It has been Ridge. Admit it. Okay, Brooke. Just admit it! You are still in love with my brother.
