Rick: Bridget, what are you waiting for?
Eric: Honey, tell him to leave or we're gonna have to drag him out of here.
Bridget: Can everyone please just calm down?
Eric: He's trying to brainwash you.
Deacon: Look, can I get a word in here, please?
Stephanie: Bridget, what's going on?
Stephanie: Well, honey, you know the truth. You heard it from him. He was only using you to get Amber. This isn't a marriage. Now why did you even let him in here in the first place?
Bridget: I just woke up and there he was.
Amber: Well did you tell him to leave?
Bridget: I did at first.
Rick: And what made you change your mind?
Deacon: Well maybe she wanted to hear what I had to say.
Eric: What did he have to say, honey? That he was sorry? That he wants a second chance?
Rick: How can you believe a word that comes out of his mouth?
Amber: I know how she could. Because he can be very convincing, can't he? It's true. I know it. And, you know, he may even believe what's coming out of his mouth, but it's only because he feels guilty.
Deacon: Amber, you're wrong. None of you have any idea how I feel.
Eric: Nobody cares how you feel! The only thing that matters here is Bridget's safety!
Rick: And that means getting rid of you!
Deacon: I'm not going anywhere until Bridget says what she wants.
Rick: Bridget doesn't know what she wants.
Eric: Let's go.
Bridget: Wait! Let him go!
Taylor: Your ex-girlfriend killed herself because she had AIDS?
Tony: If you knew Ellen -- she was just very physical. For her to lose control of her body like that, it was more than she could handle.
Taylor: There are medications now. There are a lot of successful treatments.
Tony: Yeah, I know there's been advances. It's just I wish to God she would have talked to someone.
Taylor: She didn't talk to you?
Tony: I didn't find out till after the funeral.
Taylor: You didn't know she had taken her own life?
Tony: No, I had heard that. I hadn't heard why. That she was sick.
Taylor: She must've called you, when she first found out.
Taylor: She didn't tell you you were at risk?
Tony: I'm not at risk, doctor.
Taylor: Oh, then she didn't have it when you two were together.
Tony: She did, but I didn't get it.
Taylor: You tested negative. Antonio, you have been tested?
Brooke: What the hell is he doing here?!
Rick: Bridget, he's lying to you.
Bridget: Maybe so, but you don't have to treat him like that.
Brooke: Why are you defending him like this?!
Eric: He's conning her again.
Bridget: Nobody is conning me! Look, you don't have to throw him out. If I ask Deacon to leave, he'll go. Right?
Deacon: Is that what you want?
Brooke: Of course, that's what she wants! You tricked her, and you used her! And how dare you even show your face in here!
Deacon: I came back here to apologize.
Stephanie: No, you didn't, Deacon. He wants a second chance.
Brooke: Oh, my God. Are you that far out of touch with reality?
Deacon: The reality is that I almost let the best thing that ever happened to me slip out of my fingers.
Brooke: "Almost"? No, Deacon, she's gone! It is over!
Deacon: Brooke, just relax.
Brooke: You stay away from her! You hear me?!
Bridget: Mom, stop it! You don't have to get so upset.
Brooke: You're right. It doesn't matter what he says. You don't want to have anything to do with him, do you? Honey, what are you doing? Don't let him back in, please. He is poison. You know that. Don't do this. Will you just shut up?! Get out of here, Deacon! I swear, get out, because I will kill you! I will kill you if that's what it takes!
Stephanie: Calm down. Calm down. Come on.
Brooke: I can't take this any more.
Stephanie: I know you can't. I know. But he's going to leave. Deacon, you're leaving.
Bridget: Maybe you should go.
Rick: Bridget, how can you forgive him after what he did to you?
Bridget: Who says I have? I don't know if I can ever forgive him. I do know I will never forget. Every word he said to me that night is burned into my brain. The worst -- the worst part was hearing that he didn't even think of me as being human. I don't think anything has ever hurt me that much. I never want to make anyone else feel the way I did.
Stephanie: You never could, honey.
Bridget: Yes, I could. If I listened to all of you right now telling me Deacon's a monster, that he's poison. He's not any of those things. He's human.
Tony: I didn't come here to talk about Ellen.
Taylor: We're not talking about Ellen. We're talking about you and whether or not you've been tested for HIV. Have you?
Tony: It's not necessary.
Taylor: It's not necessary?
Tony: I'm not sick, okay?
Taylor: You can have HIV and not be sick.
Tony: Look, are you gonna help me or not?
Taylor: What kind of help are you looking for?
Tony: I told you. I need medication to help me get through these panic attacks.
Taylor: That you have been having ever since you found out about Ellen.
Tony: Oh, look, don't try to draw a connection, okay? There's a million things going on in my life right now. That's the last thing I need. Besides, every man knows you can't catch HIV from a woman.
Taylor: It isn't likely, but it can happen.
Tony: It's damn near impossible, okay?! So let's get to the real issue.
Taylor: Antonio, the real issue is that you have had sexual contact with a person infected with HIV. Now, you're right, you could be perfectly healthy, but there's only one way to find out. You have to get tested.
Eric: Bridget, you have to let us protect you.
Bridget: From what? I mean, what else can he do to me?
Rick: Well I don't want to find out. You cannot trust the guy.
Bridget: Amber does. You trust him with little Eric.
Amber: Oh, that's completely different. That's his child. He loves Eric.
Bridget: But he didn't right away. At first, he was just using him to get what he wanted. Same as me.
Eric: Don't! Don't fall for this again.
Rick: I can't believe we're even discussing this. You heard what he told Amber about you.
Bridget: I also heard him say he was sorry. That's what you were talking about, right? How guilty he felt.
Stephanie: Are you all right?
Brooke: Two nights ago, I got down on my knees, and I promised God that I would protect Bridget from Deacon. And there he is, lying in wait. I can't believe for one minute that you would ask my daughter to forgive you. If you think for one second that I am going to let this happen --!
Brooke: Crocodile tears?
Deacon: I suppose that is what you'd think.
Brooke: That's what Bridget saw, too, isn't it? This false sense of remorse. You're still trying to manipulate her.
Deacon: Brooke, it doesn't really matter what I say. You wouldn't believe me.
Brooke: Well you're going to believe me, because I don't care what I have to do. I am not going to let you hurt Bridget any more than you already have.
Deacon: I don't want to hurt her.
Brooke: Well you don't have a choice now, do you?
Deacon: Yeah, I do.
Brooke: Oh, my God, Deacon. What is it you're after? It's Amber, isn't it?
Deacon: It's not Amber. Apparently, that isn't an option anymore.
Brooke: Well you still haven't given up, even after everything you put Bridget through, after almost killing her.
Deacon: Look, I understand why you're scared. I understand.
Brooke: No. No, you don't understand. You don't have a clue, because to you, people are just things. You use them. You take them. Well that is my daughter in there -- the center of my universe from the moment she was born, the reason for everything I do. And you -- you just thought she was nothing. To you, she was expendable!
Deacon: Well that's changed. I never should've used her that way.
Brooke: Well then stop!
Deacon: I have stopped! All I want now is a chance to make it -- look, I just want a chance to make this right. I told her something. I said -- I said that I didn't believe that she could be real.
Brooke: A cheap line.
Deacon: Yeah, probably. But it's true. I've never met anybody who's so -- so nice and so loyal. I mean, people like that just don't exist, at least not the people that I've met. You know, I kept -- I kept waiting for the real Bridget to show up, thinking that when everything hit the fan, she'd show her true colors. I mean, she did show up. She was even more incredible than I thought. I mean, she's lying in there, so close to death, and you know what she did? I broke her heart, and I broke her trust, and I took everything that means anything to her, and I just stepped on it. And you know what I did? She treated me the way that I should've treated her, like I mattered. Even now, she treats me like I matter. How could I not love her?
Tony: You're right. I probably should get tested when things calm down a little bit.
Taylor: Why not now, today? There's a clinic right down on La Cienega.
Tony: I have a tight schedule, doctor.
Taylor: You made time to see me.
Tony: Yes, and apparently, that was a mistake.
Taylor: Listen, Antonio, I understand how frightened you must be.
Tony: I'm not frightened, doctor. [Phone rings] excuse me. Hello?
Kristen: Is this a bad time? No. I'm -- I'm just a little overwhelmed right now.
Kristen: Oh, well I won't keep you. I was just gonna ask you something, but it's all right.
Tony: No. Go ahead.
Kristen: Last night, did I read you wrong?
Tony: Oh, no.
Kristen: Really? 'Cause it felt like we got our signals crossed.
Tony: That was because of me. It was all because of me.
Kristen: Tony, if I'm going too fast --
Tony: No, no, no. That's not it at all. It's -- I was just preoccupied.
Kristen: Are you sure? Because you can be honest with me. You know you can.
Tony: Okay. You want me to be honest with you?
Tony: I have never been more attracted to a woman in my life.
Kristen: Well in that case, what are you doing tonight?
Tony: Tonight? Taking you to dinner. Make the reservations, and I will see you soon.
Kristen: I'll look forward to it.
Tony: Me, too. Bye. Thank you for your time.
Taylor: Who was that on the phone?
Tony: My girlfriend.
Taylor: Your girlfriend? Are you sexually involved?
Tony: Good night, doctor.
Taylor: Wait! I know you don't want to face this, but you are going to. If you don't get tested for HIV, and you have sex with this woman, you are risking her life.
Amber: Look, Bridget, you're right. Deacon's not a bad guy, not -- not at heart. He's not. He's not. He's just -- he's really confused right now.
Bridget: What is he confused about?
Amber: His feelings for you. You know, it's not like he really cares about you, not like a husband.
Bridget: How do you know?
Amber: Because I know Deacon.
Bridget: Better than he knows himself?
Bridget: And you think this is all about guilt?
Amber: Yes, I do. That and -- and he wants to stay close to me and Eric.
Bridget: Oh, oh, so now you think it's about you?
Amber: Well, yeah, Bridget. I mean, come on. Come on. We all know that if I said I'd go back to him, he'd just dump you in a second.
Eric: Look, it doesn't matter what Deacon wants or needs. He's gone. He's history.
Bridget: Dad, he's always gonna be right here. He's the first man I ever loved -- or thought I loved.
Stephanie: Honey, your mother and your father understand that, but they also believe that there was never a relationship, and they just want to try and help you get your life back on track.
Bridget: Okay, but at least if I can keep talking to Deacon, then maybe I can find some kind of --
Bridget: You didn't even let me finish.
Eric: There will be no further contact with Deacon Sharpe. Is that clear?
Bridget: Where's Mom?
Eric: You think she's gonna tell you anything different? Your mother and I are in complete agreement here. We will never accept Deacon in your life.
Brooke: Love? You love Bridget?
Deacon: Yeah. [Brooke laughs]
Brooke: That's ridiculous.
Deacon: Why? No seriously, why? What have you people been telling me from the get-go? How great she is, how special she is. Well, guess what? I see it. I see how amazing she is.
Brooke: The problem is not who she is.
Deacon: Oh. Is it someone like me could never appreciate someone like her? Is that it? Brooke, you're wrong. You're wrong. I -- I do appreciate her. Let me tell you something. You get out there in the real world, and everyone's a liar -- everyone. You know, you say what you gotta say, you do what you gotta do. You cover your ass. And then one day, you wake up, and you look in the mirror, and you don't recognize the face staring back at you, 'cause it's a coward. Well, guess what? We're all cowards, especially Amber, because she doesn't have the guts to admit how she really feels. But not Bridget. She just lays it on the line.
Brooke: She's young and impulsive.
Deacon: You're not giving her enough credit. That young girl is the strongest woman that I have ever seen in my life. Look how she stood up to all of you, fought for me. That ripped her apart, but she hung tough.
Brooke: Well, she was wrong.
Deacon: No, no, no. I was wrong. I was wrong, and I was blind. This -- this beautiful angel, she -- she comes into my world, she shows me a better life, a better me, and what do I do? I treat her like dirt. I blow her off. 'Cause see, that's all I know. That's all I've ever seen. Well, I don't want that anymore! I want something better for me, for Bridget. I want --
Deacon: I want sanity. I want to make the right choices. I want something good, something honest, and --
Deacon: Yeah. Yeah, you know how I feel.
Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, I do know how you feel.
Deacon: These -- these feelings, they're real. I'm not acting.
Brooke: I know.
Deacon: What are you saying? Are you saying you believe me? You believe that I really love your daughter?
Brooke: Yes. Yes, I do believe you.
Deacon: Thank you. Thank you.
