Tony: Kristen -- Kristen, wait.

Kristen: No. No, I can't.

Tony: Kristen --

Kristen: I want you.

Tony: I want you, too, so bad. I have to tell you something.

Kristen: Huh?

Tony: Listen, when we were in Miami --

Kristen: Forget about Miami.

Doctor: Tony, you slept with a woman who had AIDS. You need to get tested for yourself and for Kristen.

Dr. Nunez: Taylor, you really didn't have to come down here tonight.

Taylor: Oh, it's no problem. Ridge and I wanted to give you a hand.

Ridge: Oh, don't let her fool you, Carlos. She wants you out of here so she can lay claim to this office. Where do you want this?

Taylor: On the floor.

Dr. Nunez: On my desk.

Ridge: Need I say more?

Taylor: I'm sorry.

Dr. Nunez: No, it's quite all right. Listen, I want you to be happy here, okay? After all, this is your office now.

Taylor: Yeah, until you get back from Mexico City.

Dr. Nunez: That's right.

Ridge: How long are you going to be gone?

Dr. Nunez: I'll be going back and forth for about six months. My colleagues are opening a practice down there. It might take even a bit longer. You know, it's possible that I'll be out of the country indefinitely and that's why I'm so grateful to you. Thanks for taking over the office.

Taylor: Oh, no. I'm the one that's grateful. I've been thinking about going back to work for a while now, and so you're the one that gave me the opportunity.

Dr. Nunez: Good. Ridge -- I hope you can forgive me for luring your wife away from the family.

Eric: Thank you, Doctor. Thanks for calling me back.

Stephanie: What'd she say?

Eric: Bridget gets to come home tomorrow or the next day at the very latest.

Stephanie: That's wonderful. I know it's such a relief for you.

Eric: Oh, it is. After all these months of frustration, Bridget is finally rid of Deacon Sharpe.

Stephanie: Now honestly, how do you think she's going to handle that?

Eric: She hasn't said much. She's going to be crushed.

Stephanie: Breaks my heart she had to go through this at such an early age.

Eric: Breaks mine, too. I'm just glad it's over though. It's time to put all this turmoil behind us. C'mon, look, everything's fine. Rick and Amber are married. Deacon Sharpe's out of the picture. Little Eric and Bridget are safe and Kristen's home and she's happy.

Stephanie: Well, I'll say one thing -- this family, if nothing else, is resilient and lucky.

Eric: We're blessed. We're so blessed.

Kristen: I'm ready, Tony. I'm ready.

Tony: So am I. I want to make love to you so bad. I want us to give ourselves to each other -- completely, no inhibitions. No insecurities. No holding back.

Kristen: I know, I want that, too.

Tony: It will happen. It will happen, my love

Kristen: It will happen! It will happen tonight.

Tony: No, Kristen. Not tonight.

Kristen: Why?

Tony: I'm sorry.

Kristen: What's wrong?

Tony: Nothing, it's just --

Kristen: Did I do something to upset you?

Tony: No. No, you're wonderful. I wish I could make love to you right now. It's just, I can't.

Kristen: Okay, I don't understand.

Tony: It's just; I want our first time to be special.

Kristen: This isn't special? We're at the beach. We're drinking wine, watching fireworks.

Tony: It's perfect. It's just, the rest of the day wasn't. You know, it was a long day. I'm tired.

Kristen: You're tired? No, it's more than that. I felt it all night. You're holding back. Sweetheart, whatever it is, you can tell me. If you're scared--

Tony: I'm not scared.

Kristen: Well, I am. You know, I haven't given myself to a man in years. You talk about uncharted territory? This is it. I'm surrounded by it. And it is scary, but it's also exciting. And as vulnerable and exposed as I feel, I know I'm safe with you. At least, I thought I was.

Tony: No, you are! I love you so much, Kristen. I would never do anything to hurt you.

Kristen: Then why won't you tell me what's going on? I know something is bothering you, so why don't you just tell me what it is.

Tony: I told you. You know, I've been traveling all day. It's been a long day. I'm tired --

Kristen: Well, don't let me keep you up.

Tony: Wait a minute, where you going?

Kristen: Home.

Tony: No, don't go. Kristen, where are you going?

Kristen: Good night

Taylor: I know it will be a little adjustment for Ridge and the kids. They've kind of gotten spoiled having me all to themselves.

Ridge: Come on, doc. You're not going to be working that much. This is only part-time.

Taylor: I know. I'll just be taking a few patients to start.

Dr. Nunez: Look, Taylor, I don't mean to disappoint you, but I did tell you that Dr. Wallace was going to take over my caseload.

Ridge: So Taylor's inheriting the office, but Dr. Wallace gets all your patients?

Dr. Nunez: Well, yeah. My patients are familiar with her. I mean, you might get to fill in from time to time. Might even be on call for a day.

Taylor: That's perfect. That way, I can just kind of ease back into it and the important thing is that I'll be counseling again.

Dr. Nunez: Well, of course. Any new cases that come in, they're all yours.

Taylor: Like I said, it's perfect.

Ridge: Hey, don't worry, doc. If things get slow around here, we can always get my family to make some appointments. I'm sure Bridget's going to need help getting over Deacon. And if you really want a challenge -- you can take on my mother and Kristen.

Taylor: Oh, come on. Your family knows they don't have to come make an appointment with me.

Ridge: We probably should. With all the help we're going to need. You know, I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those times when we're all real thankful we have a psychiatrist in the family.

Stephanie: I've had a thought I want to talk you about. When Bridget gets home from the hospital, she's going to need a lot of attention. Now she's already depressed, so I don't think she should be alone.

Eric: She's not going to be alone. Thorne and Brooke will be home with her.

Stephanie: Brooke's going to take time off from work?

Eric: Yeah, she is.

Stephanie: Well, is that really practical? I mean, whether we like it or not, she is the CEO of the company.

Eric: Well, she's also Bridget's mother.

Stephanie: Well, I understand that and, naturally, she wants to be with her. She wants to be there for her. But, I mean, something's going to end up with short shrift -- either work or Bridget. So, I'm going to make this suggestion to you as her father. Why doesn't she come here and live with us?

Eric: Here?

Stephanie: Well, yeah. I mean, it seems to me to be a very good arrangement. Helen's here all the time. Rick's right across the courtyard. He doesn't have a heavy schedule of classes this semester. And besides, Kristen and she will get to spend some time together. Get sort of connected again. With everything that's going on with Kristen, I'm sure she'll have plenty of advice about men.

Kristen: I heard that, Mother. And you're right. I do have some advice for Bridget. Stay away from men. Because they're all the same. Every single one of them.

Ridge: So how does it feel?

Taylor: I'm excited. I'm nervous.

Ridge: Why would you be nervous?

Taylor: Well, you know, it's not like riding a bicycle. There have been a lot of advances in psychiatric medicine since I closed my practice.

Ridge: Come on, doc, you're one of the most respected psychiatrists in L.A.

Taylor: Try was. Years ago. It's like starting from scratch.

Ridge: Well, I think I might just have a little something to take the edge off the nervousness.

Taylor: What's this?

Ridge: Open it.

Taylor: Oh, thank you, honey. Thank you. You're so sweet.

Eric: Kristen, what's wrong?

Kristen: I don't want to talk about it.

Stephanie: Then why did you mention it? Did you have an argument with Tony?

Kristen: Mother, I don't want to talk about it, okay? I just want to have a drink and I want to go to bed.

Eric: No, wait, wait, wait. Why don't you just relax here and tell us what happened.

Kristen: What happened doesn't make sense. Everything was going so well. And then Tony rejected me?

[Phone ringing]

Tony: Come on, Chad, pick up your phone. [Phone ringing] come on, Chad, pick up your phone. [Phone ringing]

Chad: Yeah, Chad Huffington.

Tony: Yo, Chad, it's me again.

Chad: Tony, man, what is going on?

Tony: I need your help, man. I messed up big time.

Chad: Oh, no. No, man. You slept with her?

Tony: No, I didn't, man. I couldn't.

Chad: Well, thank God.

Tony: What do you mean, "thank God"? You messed up everything for me, man!

Chad: Me?

Tony: Yeah, you. Bringing up your sister's disease and me getting tested. Ellen had AIDS, not me.

Chad: You don't know that.

Tony: I am not HIV-positive.

Chad: Well, you slept with someone who was. So there was a definite chance-- look, man, just get yourself tested, okay?

Tony: Look, you and this doctor have got me so freaking' paranoid, I couldn't even kiss my girlfriend, man. Look, I love Kristen, okay? There's nothing I want to do to put her in danger, but this is --

Chad: I understand, and you did the right thing. But listen, Tony, you've got doubts. Now, there is only one way you're going to clear them up.

Tony: I'm not getting tested, Chad.

Chad: Well, that's just great, Tony. So what are you going to do, drive yourself crazy? You're going to end up losing Kristen over this?

Tony: No! I will not let that happen. I don't know what I'm supposed to do.

Chad: Tony -- Tony, listen. You have got to hold it together, man.

Tony: Yeah, no kidding. Tell me something I don't know, Chad!

Chad: Tony, you need help. You need to talk to somebody. You need a professional. I know a psychiatrist, Dr. Carlos Nunez. He's in the book.

Tony: Chad, there is nothing you or any doctor is going to do to make me take a test. I don't need it.

Chad: Tony, please, man, just call him. Call him, man. Call him now.

Tony: Los Angeles. Yeah, I need a Dr. Carlos Nunez.

Dr. Nunez: Well, Taylor, this is it. The office is all yours. Oh, don't forget to change the message on the answering machine.

Taylor: Oh. I'll do that first thing in the morning.

Dr. Nunez: Here are the keys. I gave your name to Dr. Wallace. The phone number is on my -- on your desk, along with my numbers in Mexico City.

Ridge: When are you leaving?

Dr. Nunez: In a couple of days. But I'll be back tomorrow for the rest of my stuff.

Ridge: Sure you don't want us to help you finish up?

Dr. Nunez: Uh -- no, no, it's late. You have a good night, huh?

Ridge: Goodnight, Doctor.

Taylor: Goodnight.

Eric: Tony rejected you?

Stephanie: You're not going to see him again?

Kristen: I don't know.

Eric: It was just an argument then?

Kristen: It wasn't even an argument. All of a sudden I just felt like he was keeping something from me.

Stephanie: Something particular or just a general feeling?

Kristen: I'm not sure. It was going very well. I mean, he seemed glad to see me. He even said that he missed me. But he wouldn't kiss me. He just turned his head away.

Stephanie: Well, honey, it's pretty obvious to us that he really likes you.

Kristen: He told me he loved me. But he wouldn't -- he just got really distant. Everything was going so well. And then I could just feel him putting this wall up between us. And I asked him, "What is wrong?" And he wouldn't tell me.

Stephanie: He didn't say anything?

Kristen: He said he was tired.

Eric: Well, he probably is. He just got back from Miami. Right? He was at a funeral. He was in a plane all day.

Stephanie: I think your father's probably right. He probably just has a lot on his mind.

Kristen: I hope that's all it is. But what if something else is really bothering him?

Eric: Ask him about it tomorrow.

Stephanie: Yes, talk to him tomorrow about it. I think you're overreacting. I think you need a good night's sleep. I think he probably needs a good night's sleep. He must be, as your father said, exhausted. Honey, if there's something that's really bothering him, eventually he'll tell you. I don't think you should stress out over it.

Taylor: Hey, why don't we continue this celebration at home?

Ridge: I was kind of thinking' we might christen your new office. That sofa over there looks pretty cozy. What do you think?

Taylor: Oh, no, no, no. That's not as comfy as our bed. Come on, it's late. I have got to get up here in the morning. Let's go. C'mon, let's go!

Ridge: Okay, okay, okay. C'mon.

[Phone rings]

[Answering machine answers]

Dr. Nunez: This is Dr. Carlos Nunez. If you have reached this message, I am either on the other line or out of the office. Please leave a message and I will return your call during regular office hours.

Tony: Dr. Nunez. You don't know me, but I need your help. I don't know what to do. Yesterday my life was perfect, and then today I got some news. And now my life is just spinning out of control. Look, I'll call you first thing in the morning. I hope you can help me.
