Amber: I understand why you did what you did.
Deacon: Bridget won't. You know, for the first time, I'm seeing myself through her eyes, how she's going to look at me when I tell her the truth. It's not gonna be pretty. You know, she trusts me -- completely. She's like this little kid that -- that gives you her hand to walk across the street, and I led her right in front of a truck.
Amber: She gave you more than her hand, Deacon. You're sitting here telling me that you're sorry, but you're still having sex with her.
Deacon: I'm married to her, Amber! Something's expected. God, I hate this. She touches me, and I just -- I just close my eyes, and I pretend that it's you.
Stephanie: You're pretty special, you know that?
Eric: Yeah, so are you.
Stephanie: I guess you can tell I'm very happy that Kristen's moving back home. Aren't you?
Eric: Oh, of course I am. I guess I just didn't realize how much that was going to mean to you.
Stephanie: Well, I suppose I just stopped talking about it after a while because it seemed pointless. You know, I wrote to her all the time, I called her, you called her. Nothing seemed to make a difference.
Eric: Mm-hmm. Until Tony.
Stephanie: Okay, you're brilliant. Okay, you were right to send her over there to meet him.
Eric: Damn right, I was.
Stephanie: Well, whatever it is that's going on between the two of them, it certainly worked wonders with my relationship with her. Tensions just melted away.
Eric: What do you think? You think we should ask him to move in upstairs?
Stephanie: Now let's not get carried away here.
Stephanie: She's just, I think, very fortunate to have met him.
Tony: Excuse me.
Attendant: Yes, sir?
Tony: What seems to be the holdup?
Attendant: Our last passenger just arrived.
Attendant: Your seat mate, actually.
Tony: Oh, great. I suppose I have to move all my things now.
Attendant: Do you need some assistance?
Tony: No, no, no, that's fine. It'll be my pleasure to move all of my things for the rude, inconsiderate passenger that held up a plane full of people.
Kristen: I am truly sorry.
Tony: Yeah, as you should be. You know, you've inconvenienced a lot of --
Kristen: Well, maybe there's some way I can make it up to you.
Tony: I'm sure we can come up with something.
Deacon: I just -- I never saw this coming.
Deacon: The way I feel. I've used people before. They've used me. It's the way of the world.
Amber: Not to someone like Bridget.
Deacon: She's defenseless. I never met anyone like her.
Deacon: Open, trusting.
Amber: She won't be that way anymore, not when she finds out the truth.
Deacon: Maybe she doesn't have to find out.
Amber: Oh, so you're gonna keep on living this lie.
Deacon: No. You know, it's so funny, 'cause I thought that this was going to be so easy, just a piece of cake, you know, living in the lap of luxury and having this pretty, young girl waiting on me hand and foot. This is a new low even for me. I'm done.
Amber: So you are going to tell her?
Deacon: I can't.
Deacon: I can't! Look, you want to call me a coward? Fine, you call me a coward, but I will not look into her eyes and tell her -- I'm not gonna tell her that she meant nothing to me and that she was just a means to an end. Maybe I can -- I can make something up. I'll just -- I'll just tell her that she's too good for me. It's sad that that's probably the truest thing I ever said to her.
Little Eric: Daddy, Daddy.
Deacon: You better get him home.
Amber: Yeah. Come here, baby. Come on.
Bridget: I was nothing to him.
Kristen: Well, aren't you proud of me?
Tony: Proud of you?
Kristen: Yeah, for being spontaneous. You know, this is not like me -- you know, just pick up and run off with some man I just met.
Tony: Well, good for you.
Kristen: "Good for you"? Is that it?
Kristen: Well, Tony, if I'm gonna be spontaneous, you're gonna have to make it a little more rewarding.
Tony: What? You want a cookie?
Kristen: Well, if that's the best you can do. Tony. Tony? Tony -
Tony: All right, all right, all right. We'll wait at least till the other passengers fall asleep.
Stephanie: Well, there's no answer on Kristen's cell, so I guess she got on the flight.
Eric: Good, I think that's great.
Stephanie: I do, too. Just off like that to Miami.
Eric: I can't believe that you encouraged it.
Stephanie: Why? I told you I think Tony's very nice. He's a good influence.
Eric: I think so, too.
Stephanie: You've gotta try and stop fretting about Bridget.
Eric: I can't. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. When she realizes what kind of a lying scum Deacon is -- and I thought it was going to happen the other night when you told her everything that he said to you.
Stephanie: You keep forgetting she's a teenager. At 18, your emotions are so volatile. You fall in love, and you think that you love like no other human being in the whole world has ever loved.
Eric: And when you're embarrassed and humiliated, it's that much more intense, too. That's what I'm worried about. How is this going to affect her when she finds out the truth?
Bridget: Home -- I'll go home.
Deacon: Bridget, is that you? Hey -- I got this. I was getting worried about you. You were out with Betsy for so long. I'll lock up, and I'll take care of the kitchen, too, okay?
Bridget: Deacon --
Deacon: Look, it's only fair. You made dinner. You're exhausted. Why don't you get some sleep, all right?
Bridget: Give me the keys.
Deacon: It's all right. I got it.
Bridget: Give me the keys!
Deacon: Bridget, what's -- whoa, whoa, what's going on? Calm down. Calm down.
Bridget: Let go of me!
Deacon: Bridget, what happened? Did something happen out there? Did somebody try and hurt you?
Bridget: Did somebody hurt me? Yes, Deacon. Somebody tricked me. Somebody lied to me! Somebody had sex with me when all he really wanted was Amber!
Deacon: What's going on here? Where are you getting this from? Did Betsy say something to you?
Bridget: Betsy left a long time ago. So I came back, and I heard you talking to Amber -- about the poor kid you married who meant nothing to you. Huh?
Tony: For me?
Kristen: How cute.
Tony: Yeah, that was.
Kristen: So, tell me about all those nieces and nephews of yours.
Tony: Oh, well, they're great. They all call me Tio Ton.
Tony: "Tio" means uncle. What do yours call you?
Kristen: Well, I'm not very close to mine. I haven't been around that much. I regret that.
Tony: Yeah, they're good practice. You know, for when you have your own.
Kristen: Yeah. You want kids?
Tony: Oh, yeah. That's the whole point.
Kristen: Of what?
Tony: Of life. I mean, I'm not ready yet, but someday. Maybe soon. What about you? You ever think about that?
Kristen: Well, I never did -- until recently.
Bridget: Just give me the keys, okay? I want to go home.
Deacon: All right, wait.
Bridget: Give me the keys!
Deacon: Wait, wait! Just wait!
Bridget: I've heard enough!
Deacon: Bridget, what you heard, baby -- what you heard was me saying I was sorry.
Bridget: Why? Why should you feel bad? I'm not even human, remember?
Deacon: Oh, my God.
Bridget: I was just a tool to hurt my family with, and I hurt my father. I broke his heart defending you, and you thought it was funny.
Deacon: It's not -- that's not true.
Bridget: I heard you, Deacon! It was a joke! That's what you said. And the best part -- the punch line -- was taking me to bed. You left that phone off the hook the first time we made -- the first time we had sex. You wanted my parents to hear that? God! You really are a monster.
Deacon: Fine. I don't expect you to understand! They took Amber from me! They took my son! The only two people that I've ever --
Bridget: -- Ever loved. Yeah, and there I was, huh? The stupid bimbo with the right last name just throwing herself at you.
Deacon: No, don't do this to yourself. This isn't your fault. Bridget, you're an angel.
Bridget: I was an idiot. "Oh, Bridget, it's so amazing the way you see right into my soul. Oh, Bridget, nobody knows me better than you." You were making fun of me the whole time.
Deacon: No, I was the idiot. I was an idiot for not seeing how great you are. It wasn't all lies. I always thought you were a good kid, and the more I got to know you -- Bridget, I like you.
Bridget: Isn't that funny? The more I get to know you, the more I hope you rot in hell.
Tony: I'm sorry. Did I wake you?
Kristen: No, that's all right.
Tony: I can't stop thinking about Ellen.
Kristen: It really upsets you the way she died.
Tony: It's -- an overdose? You know, I just don't get it. I thought that she would've called me if she would've had a problem, you know?
Kristen: Well, you know, maybe she was embarrassed.
Tony: I knew all of her secrets. Well, at least I thought I did.
Kristen: Well, you'll get more information when we get to Miami.
Tony: I'm not leaving until I find out what happened and why.
Deacon: Bridget, what are you doing?
Bridget: I'm calling a cab.
Deacon: You're not taking a cab, and I'm not gonna let you drive.
Bridget: Fine, I'll walk home.
Deacon: Bridget -- Bridget, stop.
Bridget: I'm not staying here with you!
Deacon: You want to go home? Fine. I'll take you home, all right? You'll never have to see my face again, but you're gonna listen to what I have to say first. I'm sorry. I know you got no reason to believe me, but this is the worst thing I've ever done, and I hate myself for this, and if you heard me talking to Amber, then you heard that.
Bridget: I heard you. So what? It doesn't change what you did.
Deacon: I know. I know. I'm just -- I'm trying to get you understand this had nothing to do with you. It wasn't about you.
Bridget: It wasn't about me? Who was it about, Deacon? You? Of course. Things weren't going your way, so you got revenge. Who the hell cared what happened to me? I was just some stupid kid. I didn't matter. My family will never trust me again. I will never trust anyone again, but that's not your problem, is it? My life is changed forever, but who cares? Because it's not about me!
Deacon: That's not what I meant.
Bridget: To tell me I'm never gonna see your face again -- you're so wrong, Deacon. I will. Whenever somebody tells me that they care about me, that they want to be with me, that I'm special, I'm gonna see your face. The way you looked when you stood on that altar, promising to love me forever. The way you looked when you made love to me, and I thought -- I honestly believed that you truly loved me. I'm never gonna have that again. No matter who I'm with, in the back of my head, I'm gonna wonder, "is this a lie?"
Deacon: Bridget, please, don't say that.
Bridget: Why not? You don't want to face the truth?
Deacon: You're gonna be okay.
Deacon: You're gonna be just fine.
Bridget: You're right. You are such a coward! You won't even admit what you've done! Could you just admit what you've done?! Admit it!
Deacon: All right, I admit it! I admit -- I lied! I'm sorry! I'm a coward! Everything your family said about me is true, but that doesn't mean that that has to change you.
Bridget: It already has. Don't you see? You sat out there, and you said that you could never face yourself. Do you think that I can face myself?! Look what you did to me! Deacon, you made me a joke! I'm a fool! You made me an easy lay.
Deacon: Baby, no, that's not true.
Bridget: It was supposed to be beautiful, Deacon, and now it's sick, and it's ugly, and I can't ever forget it, and that's who I am now. Why? How could you do this to me? All I did was love you. Deacon, Deacon, I loved you.
Deacon: Come here.
Bridget: Don't touch me. Just go away. Just go away. Just go away.
Bridget: Just go away. Go away.
