Bridget: What did you say?

Deacon: Just forget I said it.

Bridget: You want to get married?

Amber: Oh, how did I ever let Deacon talk me into this?

[Amber sighs]

Amber: How am I gonna explain it to Rick? I'm not, not today. The last thing he needs to hear on his wedding day is that Deacon and I have matching tattoos.

[Door opens]

Rick: Eric's with Helen. He's doin' great. Wow.

Amber: You like?

Rick: What did I ever do to deserve this?

Amber: You married me.

Rick: Brilliant idea.

Amber: You still think so after what happened today?

Rick: God, can you believe Bridget? She's always been so sensible. How could she get mixed up with a loser like Deacon?

[Amber sighs]

Amber: I don't know. Deacon's pretty persuasive.

Rick: Yeah, well, at least we put an end to it before it got too serious.

Amber: What are you talking about? I mean, you heard the way she was defending him. It already is serious.

Rick: Well, serious or not, it's over.

Brooke: She's not answering the phone. She's probably not home.

Thorne: Poor kid. Her head must be spinning.

Brooke: Yeah, well, so is mine. I can't believe how many times she confided in me about this mystery man and how wonderful he was, and the whole time it was Deacon.

Eric: I was right about this guy from the very beginning. Thank God we got the baby away from him. But how are we gonna keep Bridget away from him?

Thorne: We expose him for the liar that he is.

Brooke: Oh, honey, it's not that easy. She's a teenager in love. She thinks she knows Deacon better than we do. You heard her go on and on about how misunderstood he was.

[Thorne sighs]

Thorne: He's really done a number on her.

Brooke: I should've seen this coming.

Eric: How? How could you?

Brooke: Well, he warned me in the office the other day. He said that if I didn't stop this wedding, my child would be hurt. I thought he was talking about Rick, but obviously I can see he was talking about Bridget.

Stephanie: She's gonna be devastated, Brooke, when she realizes he's just using her.

Eric: It's gonna be a very painful lesson for her to learn. But hopefully it hasn't gone too far. She says they haven't slept together, although you know that's what he wants. Look, let's go over to your house and wait for her.

Thorne: Hon, I'm gonna stay here with Mother and let you two talk to her in private, okay?

Brooke: Okay.

Thorne: All right.

Brooke: You ready? Let's go.

Stephanie: Eric, try to remember what it's like to be 18 and in love.

Eric: I'll be as patient as I can, but I have to draw the line somewhere. I don't want this man anywhere near my daughter.

Stephanie: I understand.

Bridget: I mean, I didn't just imagine that, right? You just proposed to me.

Deacon: I'm desperate. I just don't want to lose you!

Bridget: You're not going to. Deacon, you know how I feel about you.

Deacon: Yeah, and I know how your family feels about me.

Bridget: Well, that doesn't matter.

Deacon: Oh, come on, Bridget, of course it does. I mean, take a look at me face, how can you say that?

Bridget: I just -- I mean, they can't stop me from seeing you.

Deacon: Bridget, your family, they're wealthy, they're powerful. They can do anything they want. I know what I'm up against here. They already took my son from me.

Bridget: No, this is different. I'm 18. Deacon, they can't tell me what to do.

Deacon: They can send you away.

Bridget: I won't go.

Deacon: They can put me away -- in prison.

Bridget: What are you talking about?

Deacon: They can charge me with assault.

Bridget: They attacked you!

Deacon: Bridget, who's gonna believe that? Who's gonna take the word of a low-life like me against the Forresters, pillars of the community?

Bridget: No, no. No, I can't believe they would do that.

Deacon: You don't believe it, even after everything you just saw.

[Car passes by]

Bridget: Mom and Dad.

Deacon: Coming after you, ready to lay down the law.

Bridget: Oh, Deacon, what are we gonna do?

Deacon: Come here, babe. Shh. Shh. It's okay. It's okay. I'll think of something.

Bridget: I wish my family could see you the way I do.

Deacon: I wish your family could see you the way I do -- like a woman, not like a child.

Bridget: Oh, God, I'm sorry. Did I hurt you?

Deacon: No, it's okay. It's okay. It's all right.

Bridget: I can't believe they did this to you.

Deacon: You're little Red Riding Hood. So that makes me the big bad wolf, huh?

Bridget: You're right. You're right, they do think I'm a child. They've been so wrapped up in Rick's life, Rick's problems, nobody even noticed little Bridget grew up. You know, they wouldn't even listen to me.

Deacon: It's 'cause they don't take you seriously.

Bridget: Well, they're gonna have to.

Deacon: No. No, they don't have to because they are in control.

Bridget: You want to give up?

Deacon: I don't know. Bridget, they're your family. You love them.

Bridget: I'm ashamed of them. After what they did to you? I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Deacon, my entire life they said the name "Forrester" like it meant something.

Deacon: Like you were better than everybody else.

Bridget: No, no, it wasn't about arrogance. It was about tradition and pride and dignity. And then tonight, they treat you like -- like they're bullies, like no better than criminals. But you know what? If that's the Forrester tradition, I don't want to be a Forrester anymore.

Deacon: You just say the word, I'll make you Bridget Sharpe.

Bridget: Deacon, you just said that you didn't --

Deacon: I know, I know, but, you know, I'm thinkin' about it, and maybe that's the only way that we can get them to take us seriously.

Bridget: I can't get married to prove a point. And you can't do it for revenge.

Deacon: Revenge? Is that what you think this is about?

Bridget: I think you're angry, Deacon, and I don't blame you. You should - -

Deacon: I am angry, but it's two completely separate issues.

Bridget: Come on, how can you say that?

Deacon: Bridget, I knew that you were the one for me, a long time ago, before this -- this ever happened.

Bridget: Really?

Deacon: Yeah. I couldn't say anything about it because I didn't want you to think I was nuts, you know, feeling all that so soon.

Bridget: No, I wouldn't. I've thought about it, too.

Deacon: You have? I thought it would take a while, a year, maybe two. I'd save up enough money, ask your family if we could get engaged. I figured that they'd want you to graduate, which is fine. I mean, it still is fine.

Bridget: Deacon, that's not gonna work. You're right, they're gonna find some way to separate us. I mean, look what my mom did to Rick and Amber.

Deacon: She didn't let up until they got married. Maybe that's what we gotta do before they start to take us seriously, respect us.

[Deacon sighs] what the hell am I saying here? I mean, you're 18 years old, Bridget. You should be goin' out with 100 different guys.

Bridget: No, I shouldn't.

Deacon: Baby, I just want --

Bridget: I'm not a baby. Deacon, I know what I want. I want you.

Deacon: So are we gonna do this? We're gonna get married?

Amber: I wouldn't be so sure it's over between Bridget and Deacon. I just don't see him giving up that easily.

Rick: What's "easy"? He got the crap beat out of him.

Amber: See, right there.

Rick: What?

Amber: Deacon is a black belt.

Rick: So?

Amber: So he didn't even fight back.

Rick: Maybe he knew he deserved it.

Amber: Or maybe he's trying to score points with Bridget. He wants her to feel sorry for him.

Rick: That doesn't make any sense. He told us that he's just using her. Why wouldn't we tell her?

Amber: Because he also knows that she won't believe us.

Rick: Right, like she's gonna take his word over ours?

Amber: She's in love with him.

Rick: No, she's not. This is just a stupid crush. Why are we even discussing this?

Amber: Because I'm worried about your sister. She's in way over her head.

Rick: She was in over her head, but it's out in the open now, and the family will take care of this. Look, Deacon may be tough, but he's no match for all of us.

Deacon: So what do you think?

Bridget: It's such a big step.

Deacon: I know. I would never think of asking so soon, but I know what's gonna happen. They're gonna come after us and try and tear us apart, use everything they've got. Look, I can take whatever they dish out.

Bridget: No! I won't let them come after you.

Deacon: Okay then, then we got two choices. We can either stand up to them right now and tell them how we feel about each other, or we can break up right now and never see each other again.

Bridget: Let's do it.

Deacon: You mean it?

Bridget: Yeah. Yes, yes! Let's get married!

Deacon: Oh, baby, you've made me so happy. You have no idea.

[Deacon remembering]

Amber: I care about you, Deacon. You're an incredible man and a great dad. I want you to be a part of our lives, but the Forresters --

Deacon: The Forresters want to cut me out completely. No. I'm not gonna let that happen. I don't care what I have to do.

Deacon: You okay, Bridget?

Bridget: I'm fine.

Deacon: What's the matter?

Bridget: Nothing. It's stupid.

Deacon: Hey, come on. Talk to me.

Bridget: When you're a girl, you grow up thinking about your wedding, you know, what it's gonna be like. This isn't really what I pictured.

Deacon: I'm sorry.

Bridget: No, it's not your fault. My family pushed us into this.

Deacon: Look, you're gonna have that wedding that you want, I promise you. You just have to wait until your folks accept me, when they see how happy we are.

Bridget: We are gonna be happy, aren't we?

Deacon: Oh, man! What, are you kiddin' me? Come on, we're gonna be ecstatic. I've waited my whole life for a girl like you. Now that I've got you, I'm gonna treat you like a princess.

Bridget: I don't want to be a princess.

Deacon: What do you want?

Bridget: Just treat me like an adult, like a woman.

Deacon: I think I can manage that. Come here.

Bridget: You better watch it.

Deacon: Oh, yeah? Why's that?

Bridget: 'Cause I'm waiting for marriage.

Deacon: Guess what? You don't have too long to wait.

Amber: Look what Stephanie left in the fridge for us. I love being married.

Rick: You ain't seen nothin' yet.

Amber: Wait.

Rick: Is everything okay?

Amber: Yeah, everything's perfect, except --

Rick: Except this stuff with Deacon. I know. But don't worry about it. Look, he may have crashed the wedding, but he is not going to interfere with the wedding night, okay?

Amber: Okay. Yeah. I -- I just want to blow out these candles.

Rick: What, you don't like them?

Amber: No, I do. I love them. It's just -- you know, I was watching the news the other day, and they had this thing on how these candles were tipping over and all these houses were burning down, all kinds of stuff like that. So I don't want us to have any more surprises tonight.

Rick: That's for sure.

Brooke: I'm sorry, Julie, for calling you this late. It's just we're so worried.

Eric: Yes, well, the fact is she was very upset.

Brooke: Do you know anything more about this guy that she likes?

Eric: So we thought maybe she called Betsy.

Brooke: What about a place that they hang out?

Eric: All right. Look, when Betsy gets back, would you please have her call us. I don't care how late it is. Yes, I'd appreciate that.

Brooke: All right, if you hear anything, give us a call.

Eric: Of course. You, too. Thank you. Betsy's is out on a date. I bet Bridget has not called their house.

Brooke: We've tried everywhere I can think of, and she doesn't have her car. Her friends don't know where she is. It's been hours, Eric. She's with him, isn't she? Deacon has our daughter.

[Organ plays]

Minister: Congratulations. I hope you're both very happy.

Man: Thank you.

Woman: Oh, you look so nice.

Bride: I'm so excited.

Deacon: Hey, here you go. You just -- you just sign where it's highlighted.

Bridget: It just seems so strange. Unreal.

Deacon: You're scared?

Bridget: Aren't you?

Deacon: No. No, I trust you.

Bridget: That's not really the issue, Deacon.

Deacon: Sure it is. I mean, think about it. A marriage is based on trust. I trust you. I know you'd never do anything to hurt me, so I'm not afraid. I mean, if you don't feel the same way --

Bridget: No, that's not it. Deacon, you know I trust you. I just know how much this is gonna hurt my family.

Deacon: Baby, we can do this. We have to do this if we're gonna ever be together. Bridget, I can't lose you. I am your family from now on, now and forever. We're gonna do this. We're gonna get married tonight.

Bridget: Okay.

Deacon: That's my girl.
